"Symbiote speaking." I'm using bold to represent the echoing voice symbiotes have when they speak.
"Host speaking."
-Symbiote speaking to host.-
Host speaking to symbiote.
So we are safe? Louis demanded when Malek finally emerged from his healing sleep to re-join his host in their shared dreams. Malek twined his mind with his host’s and realised that whilst he had slept his host had been reliving the past few days. And Feodore is on Earth? How did this happen?
-I was in no fit state to ask beloved.- Malek replied. –I was surprised I didn’t lose consciousness the moment we left the wormhole. Had I had enough willpower I think I would have stayed awake long enough to get Delek and Feodore separated. Only Egeria knows how those two are getting on. I predict a very distressing time in the near future.-
Oh joy of joys! Louis complained. Just what we needed, still this might be the wake-up call Delek needs. He needs to see that you don’t trust him with your heart and he needs to see what his actions have caused. Yes this may be used to our advantage.
-I will not betray Feodore.-
No, we will not betray him, I’m simply saying that we can use this unexpected meeting to remind Delek that there is a price he has to pay for his actions. He needs to be reminded that his cruel actions lost him you.
-I see. Perhaps you are right.- Malek replied hesitantly. –But I’d rather get them to part.-
I know. Louis replied fondly. Now I hope I can wake this time. I don’t like not being there when things are happening.
-If you had not been with me in that cave we would not be here at all.-
Don’t blame yourself Malek, you did not know that console would explode nor did you realise that the natives would find you so quickly. I am just glad I was able to get awake for those few precious moments.
-Let’s see if we can both wake up together.- Malek offered. He sensed Louis’s agreement and carefully extended his mind. Louis’s body was healing quite well and it seemed that what he thought was a day had actually been a good few days at least, his head injury was far better, his arm was healed and the broken bone was well on its way to full health. –It appears my calculations were off, we’ve been unconscious for far longer than a day.- He told Louis who merely shrugged and pushed Malek onwards.
“You have no right to interfere.” Well there was Delek Malek thought with amusement. “Step away from my brother human.”
“He needs to be seen to, this device can help heal him, the people of this world have informed me about how it works and it does no harm.” Feodore soothed clearly trying to keep the peace.
“I will not have such primitive technology used on my brother.” Delek hissed.
“It will keep him well.”
“He does not need it.” Delek retorted.
Malek sighed and woke Louis’s body, neither Feodore nor Delek noticed Malek awaken as both were focused on each other. Malek glared at them both. “As much as I appreciate being the topic of such an argument I must ask you to be quiet, my head hurts.”
Doctor Fraiser rushed over and pressed a hand to his head. “It is good to see you’re awake Malek. Is Louis conscious?”
Malek smiled. “He is.” He informed her happily. “I have missed him dearly.”
Louis took control seconds later and Malek snuggled against his host’s spine quite happy to let his host have primary control. Louis glared at Delek. “My people are not primitive.” He snapped. “Just because you can’t understand how my people’s technology works does not mean it does not work. Both Malek and I have been here hundreds of times and we trust Doctor Fraiser and her technology, if all you’re going to do is interfere and hinder our healing then I suggest you leave.” Delek tensed and glared before reluctantly stepping back and allowing the doctors to bring the machine forward. Louis rolled his eyes as he realised what the device was, a simply brain monitor, no doubt the doctors had wanted to make sure Malek was alright. “Go ahead, plug me in.” Louis ordered with a smile, he always did enjoy seeing his little friend with his own eyes.
Despite their earlier reluctance both Ocker and Delek were drawn in with fascination as they saw Malek’s real form on screen besides Louis’s brain. Malek gave an experimental little squirm and laughed as he saw the image move, he then wiggled his fins very much enjoying the show he was putting on.
Janet laughed. “Malek has always enjoyed this.” She told the Tok’Ra with a warm smile. “And we’ve always enjoyed watching.”
Looks like you’re a bit of a celebrity. Louis commented. You’ve definitely charmed the female staff.
-I am a natural.- Malek replied with smugness as he carried on his playful little dance.
Feodore was sat beside them clearly stunned by the image, his hands rose up and he touched just above where Malek lay. “Wow.” Was all he could murmur as he felt Malek’s movements beneath his hand. “It is so strange and yet so beautiful.” He added when Malek tensed for a second, pleased Malek bucked up against Louis’s skin to bump against Feodore’s hand.
“So this device, it can see us?” Ocker asked curiously.
“Yes.” Janet answered. “It is what we use when Louis comes to the infirmary; it is our way of monitoring Malek’s health as well as Louis’s health. The device has helped multiple times when both have been unconscious.” She explained before taking a closer look at the screen. “He’s moving normally and I cannot see any damage.”
Malek purred and took control of his host to turn a pleading gaze upon Janet. “Can I leave, please? I missed the chocolate cake from the Cafeteria.”
Janet chuckled. “You are both at full health so I don’t see why not, just take it easy.”
Malek grinned and surrendered control to his host who eagerly leapt from the bed. Feodore chuckled warmly and Louis blushed just ever so slightly at the attention before coughing awkwardly. “Do you want to join me for some coffee and cake?”
Feodore smiled. “I would love to.”
Unfortunately Ocker and Delek were determined to follow Malek and thus Louis and Feodore could not get some personal time. Louis and Feodore shared a long-suffering look as they walked towards the cafeteria. But it was Daniel and Jack that caused the most annoyance. Daniel Jackson was arguing quite deeply with Jack whilst Teal’c just looked on, the conversation slowed to a halt as Louis appeared and awkwardness ensued until Daniel decided to break the awkwardness with even more awkwardness. “So Jack as I was saying our bodies have more atoms then there are stars in the known universe.”
Jack sighed and shared a look of annoyance with Louis as the four newcomers took their places. Louis chuckled and simply said. “That’s a lot of atoms.”
Daniel grinned. “Just imagine all those atoms. It would take forever to count them.”
“If we could see them...” Louis countered.
-You know you could turn this back on him.- Malek offered. –You have my knowledge to use as well.-
Such as?
-I know a lot about the human body, beloved. For example the amount of calories your body needs to simply exist is equivalent to your body weight multiplied by 0.2.-
You do know I got none of that.
-Silly host, it’s easy.- Malek replied with amusement.
Says the super intelligent long lived symbiote… Louis mumbled.
-Go get my cake.- Malek demanded. –And in return I will allow you to have coffee.-
I’ll have it anyway.
-Perhaps…- Malek teased not disagreeing or agreeing. -…Please…-
Louis let out a long-suffering sigh and rose. “I’ll be back in a moment.” He told them before wandering off. He returned a short while later with four slices of cake and a large pot of coffee. Delek, Ocker and Feodore raised a brow. Louis shrugged. “You either like it or not, Malek loves cake and I like coffee and if I am honest I’m hoping you don’t like either because they’re looking real tasty right now.”
Feodore sniggered and cautiously pulled a plate towards him and took a bite. Louis watched as the Greek’s eyes widened and he pulled the plate even closer. “Sorry beloved but I cannot comply with your wish this day, this is absolutely divine.”
Ocker and Delek had also helped themselves and whilst Delek quietly began to scoff his meal Ocker had decided to comment. “Despite the huge amount of sugar I am not displeased or worried, it is an enjoyable meal when eaten in moderation.”
Malek snorted. –I do not have to worry about moderation, I am a symbiote so Ha!-
He can’t hear you. Louis replied only to receive an image of Misha sticking out her tongue, his laughter earned him curious stares but neither Malek nor Louis explained. So when do you plan on meeting with General Hammond to discuss the alliance? We don’t have a lot of time.
-No we don’t. I shall ask Jack to arrange a meeting as soon as possible.-
Delek gave Malek a pointed look after they had eaten and Louis sighed. “Yes Delek?”
“We have a mission to complete. You know we have less than a week to achieve our goals.” Delek hissed. “Are you going to spend your time flirting or dating or are you going to do your duty?”
Malek’s fury was almost overwhelming but Louis had no time to react as suddenly he was not in control. Malek glared at Delek under the concerned gazes of the Tau’ri, Ocker and Feodore. “How dare you imply that I would betray our people! I have proven time and time again that I am loyal. You are…” Malek hissed with fury. “You infuriate me. How dare you accuse me of betrayal when it is you who defied the Tok’Ra’s code of honour or did you conveniently forget? I suggest you stay away from me for the remainder of our stay here Delek, I wish only to see you when I am meeting with the Tau’ri authorities. You have proven once again to be an unreliable and jealous friend brother, I will not make the mistake of trusting you again.” He rose, turned and walked away leaving a stunned pair of Tok’Ra, two amused Tok’Ra and Teal’c with a raised eyebrow. He heard footsteps follow him and a hand clasp his shoulder, Malek knew without looking that it was Feodore beside him offering him silent support.
“Your comrade had no reason to say such things.” Feodore commented quietly, Malek snorted loudly but did not answer and strode determinedly away from the cafeteria. “I hope you have an idea of where to go?”
“No. I am hoping I will come across General Hammond so I can begin talks without having Delek question my every bloody move.” Malek hissed.
“It is not that he doesn’t trust you.” Feodore offered. “He is jealous. He clearly still loves you.”
“He does not.” Malek replied. “He has made his feelings clear on many occasions. He sees me as his property and nothing more. He shows more respect for Ocker then he does me. He lies and deceives me at every turn and he is quite willing to betray my trust and to dishonour me to further his own goals. I cannot trust him.”
“I’m sorry.”
“Do not be, you have nothing to do with this. He is only jealous because he realises he can’t control me or affect my decisions anymore.” Malek replied. Silence rained for several moments before Malek hissed again. “I can’t believe I trusted him! I told him I could trust him with my safety, as my brother and as my comrade I need to trust him to have my back but I’m beginning to doubt myself. Have I put trust in the wrong person? If he can so easily betray me to gain respect and power could he not do the same physically? Could he not have me killed to have an ally take my place? Could he not sacrifice me to give a Goa’uld information?”
“He would not do that.” Feodore argued but he did not sound so sure.
“Wouldn’t he?” Malek asked. “If I was asked that question thousands of years ago I would have said no he would not betray me or my brethren but now, after all that’s happened? I just don’t know. I don’t know if I want to trust him with my life. He hasn’t betrayed me yet and he never intends to but in a few years?” Malek sighed but this time with grief and pain. “I just don’t know anymore, I just don’t know. He’s not the Delek I fell in love with and he is not the brother I grew up with.”
“I do not think so.” Feodore replied. “It is easy to see that he still cares.”
“But does he care for me as an individual or possession? Does he accept I still have free-will or free-thought or does he wish to control my every action and decision?” Feodore had no answer for this and more concerning neither did Malek.
“You are not ready for a political meeting.” Feodore stated after several long moments. “Come with me and spend time with me. We can do whatever you and Louis want, just don’t go facing the humans of this world as you are, you’re simply not prepared to argue politics.”
Malek stopped walking and turned to face his mate. “You’re right, I’m just so angry and so upset that I want to forget and I want to fight.” He said after a few moments before he sighed. “I’m behaving like a prim’ta. Yes, let’s go to my host’s quarters, I wish to spend time with you and I’d like to forget about Delek for a little while.”
-I am sorry I took control without asking, would you like control back?- Malek offered.
Louis shook his imaginary head. No. I am fine, spend some quality time with Feodore, you need it.
-But I…-
Malek I am not angry, I would have been more surprised if you didn’t respond to Delek’s insult. Feodore will take care of us, let him calm you. Do not doubt yourself Malek, I am happy and content.
-Very well but please let me know when you desire control.-
You know I will.
Malek sighed and quietly lead Feodore away from the briefing room and to his and Louis’s private chambers. The Greek said nothing allowing Malek a small moment to gather his thoughts and calm. Malek only relaxed when the door was shut, it was a barrier between him and Delek if Delek was to find his room. Feodore waited patiently as Malek immediately went to the kitchen and began making them some coffee. Malek handed Feodore his mug and he watched as the Greek sat placed it on a table before tugging Malek into his lap. “I do not need to be on your lap.” Malek commented.
“Yes you do, you need comfort and I’m offering it.” Feodore replied.
Malek slumped in Feodore’s arms and accepted what the man offered as he quietly drank his drink. Feodore asked no questions and passed no judgements and it was quite refreshing and relieving to trust someone so implicitly and know they would not betray. –Question is, why can I trust a stranger but not the brother I’ve grown up with for thousands of years?-
Louis chuckled. It is because you’re brothers that you fight Malek. God! The amount of times siblings have tried to kill each other on Earth. I don’t truly understand how it works being a single child and all but siblings love each other no matter what but there are times, many times when they’d love to murder each other. Love doesn’t always equal peace and love doesn’t always stop wars, in fact the majority of the time love causes wars. No doubt Delek believes you can do better than a human, he sees that Feodore like all humans has a limited time alive and he doesn’t want you to experience grief when it is Feodore’s time. Of course there is also the fact that he’s jealous because he adores you.
-When he tells me the truth and no longer humiliates me I will reconsider my mating with him until then I want nothing to do with him, he is an arrogant imbecile.- Malek replied sternly. –And I know what I am getting into with Feodore. I have suffered grief before.-
Yes but Delek doesn’t want you to suffer it. He may be a dick that deserves a real good kick up the backside but he still cares for you. Hell! Even Feodore knows he still cares for you, it is plain as day if you just look. He hates that you hate him but there is something holding him back from telling the truth. He doesn’t feel he can tell you.
-Why wouldn’t he tell me?-
I don’t know, perhaps he thinks you aren’t truly ready to hear it. Perhaps you don’t remember some important detail or perhaps it is him holding himself back on not you. Perhaps he has done something else you would not agree with or perhaps he knows something he can’t bring himself to tell you. In all honesty I can’t answer, we can theorise until we’re both paranoid and fearful but it won’t bring us any closer to finding out the answer. Just relax and pay attention to all the small details, sometimes the answers can be right in front of us but our eyes aren’t open enough for us to see them.
Malek paused before reluctantly smiling. –My beautiful intelligent host. I am fortunate to have you. You are correct of course, I am behaving like a prim’ta. I am a politician and a commander my eyes should always be open and I should not be reacting to Delek’s words. I am better than this, I am far more intelligent and I should be watching and waiting not dwelling on the past nor should I allow the past to affect my decisions.-
You’re entitled to have bad days Malek, just try to calm down and open your mind to the small facts and details. Delek will slip up eventually and you’ll work out the truth. Perhaps if we’re both lucky the answer Delek provided whether willingly or not will be the answer we wish to hear and not the horrifying answers you are throwing around our minds right now.
Malek chuckled and Feodore hugged him closer. “Calmer now, beloved?”
“I am most fortunate to have Louis, he speaks reason to this tired old symbiote when I am behaving so badly.” Malek answered fondly. “I have shut my mind and eyes to everything around me and as a result I may have missed so much.”
Feodore smiled. “No doubt you’re talking about small details and slip-ups. Louis is correct of course, as a politician it is one of the things I rely on. Watching the body language of allies and enemies tells me all I need to know about that person. Perhaps you need to do the same with Delek, perhaps you should watch him and see him for yourself. I have watched him this past few days and I can tell you that an arrogant prick he may be but he cares deeply for you. He refused to leave your bedside when you lost consciousness and he had the nurses explain everything they did to ensure they did not intentionally harm you. He even took a few doses of your medicine to ensure it was safe for you to have.”
Malek laughed a little. “That sounds like Delek. Always paranoid, always thinking we’re about to be attacked or betrayed.”
“Was he always like that?”
“Yes. Even as a prim’ta he was a little paranoid, it was useful to have someone as open minded as him. Delek thought out every method that the Goa’uld may have used to attack us and offered some ideas for protection, he is the reason the Tok’Ra tunnels exist and why we live on planets that seem uninhabitable. No Goa’uld would bother travelling to uninhabited empty worlds not even in search of us because it means proving that we exist to the Jaffa after all these years of denying we exist.”
“So Delek is valuable to you and your people?”
“His mind is useful.” Malek agreed. “His attitude on the other hand is not.”
“I think he’s always been like that you just didn’t care to notice because you loved him too much and now that he’s made a mistake you’re noticing all his flaws and errors.” Feodore countered.
“You think I’m judging him too harshly?” Malek asked.
Feodore shook his head. “No he needs an attitude adjustment, all I’m saying is this, and you’re judging him without the full-facts. You’ve become biased and potentially ignorant to whom he truly is because your emotions have led you to decide he is not trustworthy. Just spend a few days watching him and make a decision from there.”
Malek nodded. “I will but right now I do not wish to think of him, I just wish to spend time with you.”
Feodore laughed fondly. “Who am I to deny you?” He asked softly. “You know I love spending time with you.” Malek was quick to react as Feodore’s lips touched theirs; he pressed forward and opened his mouth to the Greek’s questing tongue. Feodore pulled him more securely onto his lap and Malek felt his mate’s desire beneath him. Feodore stopped the kiss seconds later and met Malek’s eyes with a serious gaze. “Stop me now beloved or I will not be able to stop myself.”
Malek chuckled. “Louis and I have desired this union for some time beloved; hold nothing back we can take it.” He demanded.
Feodore’s gaze was lustful and adoring as he stared up at Malek, he touched Malek with adoring fingers as if he could not believe he had Malek in his lap or that Malek was so willing. Malek smiled fondly back at his powerful mate before lowering his head to initiate their second kiss. Feodore seemed spurred into action by this kiss for he rose quickly forcing Malek to cling to his mate. The powerful Greek strode to the bedroom without showing any signs of fatigue or weakness at carrying Louis’s weight. Malek said and did nothing as Feodore shut the bedroom door firmly before striding down and releasing his precious cargo onto the bed. “You already look good amongst those sheets beloved but I desire to see more.”
Malek smirked and crawled back until his host’s body was near the pillows. “Then come see more my mate, this is all for you as well as for me.”
Feodore smiled as he strode towards Malek’s prone form. “I have been most fortunate to receive such a beautiful mate.” Malek merely smiled as the man climbed onto the bed and covered Louis’s body with his larger form. “I have dreamed of this moment. I have wanted you in my arms and in my bed from the moment I clapped eyes on you. Now that I have you I will never let you go.”
“I too am possessive.” Malek agreed. “You are mine, no one else’s.”
“I’m yours and you are mine.” Feodore agreed. “I like the sound of that. Now let’s make it a reality.”
“We do not need to share our bodies to belong to one another.”
“No.” Feodore agreed. “And if you wish to stop just say so now.”
Malek laughed and tugged at Feodore’s dark locks. “I do not wish for you to stop beloved, I am simply saying that we already belonged to each other before today.” He stated fondly as he met Feodore’s eyes. “You waited for me, when you heard no word you still waited for me.”
“I will always wait for you.” Feodore promised. “This is not just about physical pleasure beloved, I need you in my arms, and I need to hold you.”
“I too need you.” Malek answered warmly. “Please hold me, touch me.”
“Just touch?”
“Don’t be a tease.” Malek ordered as he tugged on the man’s hair again with a grin.
“But I do so enjoy teasing you both.” Feodore replied.
“Normally I’d agree but right now I want you, need you, so stop playing and give me what I desire.” Malek mock-ordered with a small smirk.
Feodore chuckled. “Who am I to deny my beauty?” He asked the air before lowering his head and taking Malek’s mouth for another kiss. Malek hummed with happiness as he felt his mate’s body heat rush through his host’s body and as a result his own body. Louis was enjoying the warmth of Feodore’s body but Malek was enjoying the close contact, it had been a long time since anyone had touched him like this, as if he was the most precious thing in the universe and he was enjoying it. Feodore fingers were almost afraid to touch as if Louis’s skin would break from the slightest contact, Malek squirmed trying to press into those fingers but Feodore pulled away tauntingly.
Great we have a lover more tormenting then you. Louis complained but his tone was fond.
-He will keep us on our toes, that’s for sure.- Malek agreed with a smile.
Feodore sniggered into Malek’s ear and Malek shivered as he spoke. “I hope you and Louis aren’t scheming to overpower me with your strength, I will be most disappointed at such an unfair advantage.” Malek did not hear dislike at the idea in fact in the future Feodore may be open to Malek and Louis dominating him but right now all three were happy with Feodore as the dominant. Feodore chuckled and teasingly ran a hand down the exposed skin between trousers and shirt. “I’m in control right now.”
Malek smiled. “Yes you are.” He answered warmly. “But you haven’t proven it yet.” He challenged. “Show me how powerful you are, show me how skilled a lover you are.”
“With pleasure.” Feodore answered.
Malek purred in his and Louis’s at the feel of Feodore’s firm hands skimming his host’s body, his purr got louder as nails teasingly scratched Louis’s neck just above where he lay. It had been a long time since he had felt such power and loving touches. It was very unlike being with another Tok’Ra, when he was with Delek he had learned to recognise Sebastian’s touch as well as Delek’s but with Feodore there was no doubt, no mystery, every touch was Feodore’s and there was something strangely erotic about that.
Yes but you did enjoy working out who was touching you. Louis teased. I can see the guessing games you and Misha played.
Malek laughed aloud and hugged Feodore closer to him. –Indeed, Delek was overconfident in everything he did and Sebastian was always so gentle and caring.-
Feodore seems to be a perfect mix of both. Confident yet caring.
-That he is.- Malek merely smiled at Feodore’s questioning gaze and tugged the man as close as humanly possible with a small moan. –But he is also so very different. His touches, his kisses, his very being is so very different from all my previous lovers.-
And I suppose you’ve had many.
Malek chuckled inside their head. –My dear, dear host, I have had quite a few including Lantash and Martouf and at one point I even mated with Gete and Aldwin! I’ve also taken a few human mates as well although I cannot boast having as many as the others.-
Wait one minute. Gete and Aldwin?
-Yes.-
How? Why? Where?
Malek sniggered. –It was when we went undercover. Misha and I were single at the time although we were having a roll in the hay with Lantash at the time, if that’s the right term. Lantash and I weren’t truly serious, we cared deeply for each other but it was more of a sharing of bodies rather than a sharing of souls. Anyway getting back to the story, Aldwin and I had to pretend to be Goa’uld mates but this particular Goa’uld did not believe we were truly mated, they demanded prove and needless to say we gave it.-
You and Aldwin. Malek sniggered at Louis’s shock before focusing back on Feodore who was clearly unaware that Malek and Louis had been distracted. Malek squirmed under his lover and demanded that the Greek do more. You are…crazy!
-You have no need to be jealous beloved, we have Feodore now and I am willing to share everything.- Malek purred teasingly. Louis mentally blushed making Malek smirk. –Do you want control?-
No! Louis exclaimed clearly very embarrassed. Malek chuckled and soothed his host.
“Something amusing?” Feodore asked Malek after a few moments with a teasing smile. Malek’s breath hitched as the Greek stopped playing around and gently wrapped Louis’s arousal with a warm hand. “Because something tells me you aren’t paying much attention.”
Malek laughed a little breathlessly. “I’m just letting Louis get into our mating. He is very interested in your touch beloved. Perhaps you should show us what you are capable of.”
You did not just use me as an excuse. Louis protested.
-It worked didn’t it?- Malek asked playfully. Louis sighed with amusement but said no more.
Feodore breathed into Malek’s ear with a smug smirk. “I’ll show you exactly what I’m capable of.” The Greek growled with dark, lustful purpose, Malek shivered at the promise and tugged the man even tighter to him in encouragement.
-
Malek was still smirking when he re-joined his fellow Tok’Ra the next day in the briefing room. Delek’s eyebrow twitched and Ocker shook his head with an amused smile as Malek literally skipped into the room and took a seat between the two. Jack raised an eyebrow and gave him a friendly smirk, Daniel sniggered and Teal’c merely nodded in greeting. General Hammond just sighed and relaxed in our seat. “Is everyone here?” He asked and Malek knew that he was really asking that everyone pay attention.
“We are all here and ready.” Malek explained with a warm smile. “I apologise for Samantha not being here but the council believed it best if Jolinar and Lantash remain together. Now I am here with my comrades for a very important reason. The council have entrusted us with ensuring that we succeed in creating the alliance between our two peoples. There are some more sceptical Tok’Ra who do not believe allying ourselves to you is worth the risk. I am to speak on your behalf and make it clear that you would be a valuable ally.”
“Your associate, Delek informed me of this when you first arrived.” Hammond replied. “I have contacted the President and the relevant authorities and I have a large file of do’s and don’ts. Inside is a list of things we are willing to grant you as well as rules that we are told both the Tok’Ra and SGC should obey. On top of that we have a list of potential hosts for your people as well as our requests from you.”
Malek noted that there was only two files and it was given to him and Hammond kept the original, obviously the humans believed these documents too important to be photocopied multiple times. Malek pulled it towards him and immediately skimmed the document. It took him a good fifteen minutes to read the multiple pages within the folder and most of it was political red tape where the humans tried to dictate how he should behave or live when upon the planet. Malek sighed and Hammond shared an amused but very weary look with him. “For once I had hoped that the negotiations and politics would be easy.” Malek commented with a smile. “I think I need to re-read this a few more times to get the gist of it but I can already see this is going to be difficult. Not many Tok’Ra would agree to the stipulations your people are trying to enforce on them and very few would appreciate being told what to do. Not only this but these hosts are clearly all American and their allies which only enforces the fact that your people are not at peace with the rest of the world. The Tok’Ra cannot be drawn into such feuds and discontent. Fortunately your government have realised this and has not asked for aid but they do ask for knowledge of weaponry and technology. Knowing what we know many would deem it unwise to give you such information, not only would your peoples use it to harm each other but you may very well use it to harm other planets.” Malek sighed again and leaned back in his seat. “I assure you that I trust the SGC but trusting the rest of your people is a harder task, my experiences with Mayebourne have opened my eyes to how judgemental and controlling your government can be. If we achieve this alliance a lot of what is in these documents will need to be changed to suit the Tok’Ra as well. I believe given enough time I can rewrite this out to create a draft of an alliance that would please both our peoples.”
“The Government do tend to be controlling.” Daniel conceded. “But I believe that you can achieve peace with some of the stipulations within the document.” At Malek’s confused look the man chucked. “I have not read the document but I have been involved with some of the chats. The one that stands out in my mind is your permission to visit the surface of our world. I do believe that it is fair that you have an SGC officer and stay within the boundaries. We could add new buildings or change existing ones to suit any purpose required and it would mean you are safe from such authorities like the NID. On top of this you will be able to go elsewhere on the planet but having a guard who is a Tau’ri is a very good thing, it means you have a source of knowledge about the planet and it will also mean you have someone who can get in contact with the SGC the moment anything goes wrong.”
Malek nodded. “True but then in return we are supposed to give you information of Goa’uld weaponry, no Tok’Ra would willingly hand over such knowledge to an authority as biased and dangerous as your authorities. We have seen some worlds destroyed by such actions and others changed and not always for the better. We Tok’Ra would not be able to handle the guilt and hatred that such actions would result in. Your people are asking for a lot and they’re asking for a leap of faith that many of my kin will not take. If we are to achieve this alliance we will need to seek a more neutral agreement. We would gladly tell you of all the different Goa’uld’s out there and we will gladly tell you about some of the worlds out there as well as supplying you addresses to the worlds that would welcome you and that also have resources your people could use. We simply cannot give you weaponry.”
“Information is just as good as weaponry.” Daniel agreed.
Jack scowled. “So the next time a Goa’uld attacks we sit and talk about what we’ve learned?” He demanded.
Malek sighed and bowed his head allowing Louis to come forward. “Jack, Malek is speaking the truth. The words Malek speaks are not his personal opinions, he knows that the SGC is ready to face the threats and ready to learn but he also knows that the authorities and certain individuals are not. The Tok’Ra would not agree because you are not united with one purpose, they know that the authorities will try to outdo each other and eventually they will end up harming each other. Malek is not passing judgement on me, you, Daniel, Samantha or General Hammond, he is passing judgment on the world out there. They aren’t ready. You know this better than you say you do. The world out there isn’t ready for the knowledge the Tok’Ra possess, they aren’t ready for the responsibility it entails.” Louis leaned forward and smirked. “What if the Germans got hold of it? What if Iran got hold of the technology? And what about Russia? They won’t use it for the benefit of the world, they’d use it for themselves to gain power and control over the rest of the world. Earth is simply not ready, Jack.”
“Indeed.” Teal’c agreed. “I have seen your communications devices, I have watched your different peoples and whilst I realise your people have great potential it is clear they are not ready. Too many behave like the Goa’uld’s, they seek power and control and are willing to harm to get what they desire.”
Daniel nodded. “Malek and Teal’c are right, we aren’t ready.”
“A wise human.” Delek complimented. “I have to confess that I had not expected such intelligence from your people, the other human races out there would have demanded control and power without a care for anything else. Some have even tried to capture, torture and interrogate Tok’Ra agents, they have failed.” The threat in his words were obvious. “We will not and simply cannot give you such weapons when we cannot ensure that your people would use them wisely. How do we know that you simply won’t turn them upon us when we outlive our usefulness to you?”
“We wouldn’t.”
“You wouldn’t.” Malek agreed readily. “But Mayebourne would and authority is a fickle thing. What is to say that someone won’t take General Hammond away from the SGC to be replaced with a more NID sympathetic human?” Daniel bowed his head in agreement and remained quiet, Jack said nothing and Teal’c appeared unaffected. Malek turned to Hammond. “I believe that my comrades and I must discuss this in private and consider these documents carefully. I therefore request that this meeting be adjourned until tomorrow morning.”
Hammond nodded with a smile. “That is understandable. I shall see you all back here at 0900 hours.”
Malek bowed his head with respect before standing and leading his brothers from the briefing room, the two Tok’Ra of course had no idea where he was heading and so simply watched and observed the different turns they took. Finally Malek found his private chambers and led them in, Feodore was leaning back on the couch sipping a glass of fruit juice, he glanced up and noticed their serious gazes. “Do I need to be elsewhere?”
“It would be advisable.” Ocker replied.
Feodore quickly excused himself and Malek settled down on the now empty couch. “Right, we need to read this document.” Malek replied. “Delek read it, as my fellow councillor you have just as much right to read this as I do.” Delek didn’t like being out of the loop and so immediately took the file and began to read. “The authorities have made many presumptions.” Malek continued. “They seem to think we are amusing pets to control and dictate to. They believe we have no independence or minds of our own. Our rights to freedom of speech and freedom in general is dictated by our continued alliance with the SGC and Earth.”
Ocker scowled. “Do they truly think we’d agree to such a thing?”
Malek chuckled. “The SGC know we won’t but the humans out there are sometimes so primitive it is pathetic and yet hilarious. There are some cultures where women are possessions and some cultures where women are dominant. Earth is literally a collection of every culture out there and they are so different that neither can agree with the other. They act like they know better but when their views are challenged they hate the challengers. Religions for example think non-believers go to hell simply because other people think differently. Very few humans here have evolved to accept other cultures, religions and species of animal or people.”
“And you want us to ally with these people?” Delek asked sceptically. “How can we trust a people who would happily stab each other in the back?”
“Because they have much potential.” Malek argued. “If the people learned to look beyond colour, culture and religious views they would be able to work together and achieve some amazing things.”
“But they haven’t learned to look beyond their religious and cultural views.” Delek replied. “We cannot trust them.”
Malek sighed. “They are offering hosts Delek and a place we can go to be safe from the Goa’uld when we have time for vacations. The Tau’ri is the only species to put a barrier on the Chaapa’ai, no other human has thought to block the gate. And they do have a right to dictate how their land is used, as it is theirs. We wouldn’t want the Tau’ri moving onto one of our base worlds and setting up a home on our worlds. They are being surprisingly fair beyond all that political red tape, the only true issue is what they want in return for their leniency.”
“Leniency.” Delek snorted in disbelief. “They want an ambassador on Earth at all times? That would be impossible! Not only would we not trust them with our agent’s safety but we’d also need all agents available at all times. And then there is the fact that they want to analyse us, to see how we work. What they want us to allow them to autopsy us? Do they want to prevent themselves being taken as hosts? It appears to me that they desire to use us whilst creating a way to make the human body immune to becoming hosts.”
Ocker nodded reluctantly. “It does seem they are asking for a bit much and much too soon as well. How can we ensure they won’t use this information against us?”
Malek nodded in agreement. “We do not want them experimenting on us, so we can simply stipulate that we want Tok’Ra doctors and trusted SGC doctors treating us if we were to arrive injured. We can also stipulate that we don’t want our information getting out to particular organisations like the NID.”
“I don’t want the Government getting hold of the information.” Delek replied.
“The SGC answers to the Government, they have to keep them involved.” Malek answered. “But we can demand equal rights to the Tau’ri to prevent our information being used to harm us or our hosts.”
“But would that get us the rights and respect we deserve?” Ocker asked.
“It would be a stipulation of the treaty. We have equal rights or they don’t get information.” Malek replied. “We can do the same for pretty much everything else as well. Jolinar and I are uniquely suited to this because our hosts are Tau’ri and so we know our hosts rights and we can ensure that those same rights are given to us and other Tok’Ra and their hosts. As potential allies the Government will want to ‘please’ us to ensure our compliance. As long as we stipulate that we demand rights before we will give them what they desire they will be willing to comply. Not only this but they don’t know what they are asking for. They asked for knowledge, we could give them knowledge to improve farming and building. They do ask for knowledge on Goa’uld but we could happily give them that and still never give them the complete knowledge we have.”
“Deception?” Delek asked with amusement.
Malek shot Delek an innocent look. “No, more like mis-communication but by the time the humans realise this they won’t be able to change the treaty because it would have agreed by then.”
Delek nodded looking a little more relaxed. “Well I demand knowledge in return, I want to know about this ‘iris’ they have.”
“And their medical knowledge would be interesting.” Ocker added. “Whilst primitive looking it did seem effective.”
Malek nodded. “The humans are asking for a lot so we should ask for a lot in return. If they want that knowledge to improve their world we will want to be a part of their world and acknowledged with respect as aids to Earth.”
Delek sighed and leant back in his seat besides Malek. “But if the humans are as bad as you claim then respect will not be enough. The humans will find a reason to take the rights away, it could be that we don’t believe in their Gods or it could simply be because they don’t like that we exist or that we won’t give them what they want. If we are going to do this we must stipulate that if at any time when we are unwelcome, hunted or hated we are allowed to leave Earth safely and unpursued.”
“As for a permanent agent on Earth, I believe it should be either myself or Jolinar, our hosts offer us a safety net that you, Ocker and the others do not. Our hosts were born and raised on Earth, they legally have rights even now whereas you two don’t. I can use Louis’s rights in my defence quite easily, not that I would like to.”
Delek scowled. “No, we need you on base and Jolinar hates desk jobs.”
“Then what do you suggest?”
Delek smirked. “Well you’re an ambassador of Earth for the Tau’ri so why not have a Tau’ri ambassador for the Tok’Ra? Say Daniel Jackson?”
Malek’s eyes widened. “I knew there was a reason I wanted to bring you. You’re a genius!” Delek laughed and Ocker smirked but Malek was no longer paying attention, his lifted a blank piece of paper and began scribbling down notes. “We’ll demand a Tau’ri ambassador, unbiased hosts, equal rights and unchallenged rights to leave the planet if we feel unwelcome or unthreatened. In return we’ll give knowledge, especially about the Goa’uld.”
“But we won’t give them weapons.”
“Nope.” Malek agreed with a smirk. “It may be a deception but ensures that no country holds more power and decimates the rest of the world and it ensures that they can’t hurt us and besides it is not like we’re holding back everything, we’ll give them knowledge, just not the knowledge warmongers want.”
“Are they warmongers?”
Malek sighed. “They are like most divided worlds. There are those who are peaceful and those that are not. We must ensure that we don’t interfere with the politics of this world or the balance of peace. We will give them what information we can that will not change the balance of power and in return they will aid us in our survival. We will ask for no weapons in return all we will want is to survive and to have a relatively safe place to rest.”
“That is all we can do.” Ocker agreed. “We will rewrite this ‘treaty’ to balance out both people’s needs but we will carefully omit any reference of weapons without making it obvious. Once the treaty draft has been accepted by humanity it will be up to you two to get the council to agree.”
Malek smiled. “Well we have Garshaw, Per’sus and Jolinar onside. With Thoran gone it leaves one empty seat but I cannot guarantee the others.”
“I know of four who will immediately protest.” Delek agreed. “But I think I can approach them and convince them that this alliance is worth agreeing to.”
“Who?” Malek asked.
Delek looked away a little guiltily. “It is not important.”
Ocker glared. “Of course it is important!”
“They do not think the rest of the council are doing the right thing and they will be leading the argument against the Tok’Ra and Tau’ri alliance. I am friends with one of them so I hope I can speak reason to them.” Delek explained.
“Let me guess, it’s Milla.” Malek asked. Delek gave a sympathetic smile and Malek sighed. “She has always disliked the way we do things. She believes we should just throw ourselves at the Goa’uld and hope for the best.”
Delek laughed. “No she doesn’t. She simply feels that instead of hiding underground we could set up an empire pretending to be Goa’uld’s but actually be an empire of Tok’Ra and free humans.”
Malek shook his head. “And we’d be easier to find and track. It is much safer to be how we are.”
Delek smirked. “She doesn’t agree and it isn’t surprising that she never goes on missions, she’d fail every time.”
Ocker grinned. “She isn’t even allowed near agents going to and from missions, she is only allowed to pass judgement on the council. The amount of times Councillor Garshaw and Per’sus have ordered me to keep her apart from our agents.”
“Her heart is in the right place.” Malek stated. “But she can be clueless. I am surprised her host doesn’t take more control.” Ocker smiled and Malek grinned, out of the corner of Malek’s eye he saw Delek cringe but the expression was gone the moment Malek turned to face him. “I suppose you can convince her to be more agreeing of this alliance?”
“She can be convinced and she has a lot of respect from other Tok’Ra, her knowledge of technology and culture means that many go to her for information about new worlds. Trust me when I say that if she accepts the alliance other will quickly agree with her.” Delek explained.
“I remember that she was used as the guiding historian for several missions a few hundred years ago.” Malek commented.
“Yes, when Per’sus was almost killed the Tok’Ra agent who had tried to kill him later turned out to be an undercover Goa’uld. It was thanks to Milla that they worked out who the Goa’uld was and found the planet the Goa’uld had come from. “ Delek answered. “It was thanks to her that we were able to retrieve our Tok’Ra agent from stasis and reunite them with their host.”
“Yes I remember, she was congratulated by the council and given a seat at the council for her honourable actions.” Malek answered. “I respect her a lot despite her lack of tactical knowledge and often stupid suggestions.”
Delek chuckled but it didn’t seem to reach his eyes. “I would avoid calling her stupid when she’s around.”
-Something’s wrong.- Malek thought. –Delek’s become withdrawn.-
Is Milla someone we should watch?
-It would seem so.-
“Right, let’s get this document written out.” Malek stated after a few moments. “We need to word this document to make it seem that the Tau’ri are getting the most benefits, let them think they’ve outwitted us when in truth we’ve outsmarted them. “
“That’s not hard.” Delek snorted.
Malek chuckled. “No you just have to stroke their egos and they think they are better than everyone else.” Ocker caught the intended insult and hid his face from sight to hide his snigger, Delek glared but Malek merely laughed. “So we stroke their ego in the treaty by implying they are getting what they want.”
“We’re not really denying them anything but weapons.” Delek stated firmly. “We’ve pretty much denied nothing but weapons and they won’t find out until much later.”
Malek nodded. “Yes but we also need to allow the rest of the council to read and agree to the alliance. Once we’ve rewritten these documents to more agreeable alternatives we will need to return to the Tok’Ra and convene the council.”
Delek smiled. “Yes the sooner we return the better. No doubt since we’ve been gone the Tok’Ra have been up in arms about the alliance and the Tau’ri. To be honest I prefer to be home rather than here, I have not grown fond about Earth and its people.” He admitted.
“You just don’t like my mate.” Malek retorted. “Very well let’s get this document written out and agreed to by the humans and then we can leave.” Malek commented.
“No I don’t like him, he is no good for you.” Delek agreed. “And I suggest we find a way to encrypt these documents, we don’t want the Goa’uld discovering that we intend to ally ourselves to Earth.”
“The humans have devices that we can change to suit our needs.” Malek answered. “Once the document has been approved I can transfer it to a device and encrypt it, no Goa’uld will be able to unencrypt it.”
“To be sure we should encrypt it three times, so even if one of us was caught it would require all three for us to unlock it. “ Delek answered. “You will have to show Delek and I how to do it so we can ensure that we can unlock and encrypt it when needed. Once we are done with the device it would be wise to destroy it. “
“You are correct. It would be unwise to allow a primitive device to contain such important documents.” Ocker agreed. “But it is better than carrying sheets of easily read paper about.”
Cheers Ocker. Louis replied in annoyance. Thanks so much for talking down my species.
-You know Ocker is not intentionally doing so.- Malek reassured. –You must be aware that that paper is a rather primitive method and your devices are easily hacked given enough time.-
I know but still I don’t appreciate being insulted. It is as insulting to me just as you are insulted by being called a snake.
-Very well I will try to prevent it later.- Malek assured. –But do not be surprised if you hear it more often, many Tok’Ra think as Delek and Ocker do.-
Hours passed very slowly and other than stopping for some coffee and a few minutes rest they did not stop. They had written and rewritten the treaty at least six times rewording the sentences until Ocker had grown tired and leant back to allow the two councillors to do what came naturally to them. Malek wrote things honestly and Delek added the twist and dishonesty until they had created a treaty that treated both races with respect but tricked the Tau’ri into believing they would benefit more than they would.
“That was tiresome.” Ocker commented moments later when it was clear Malek and Delek were finished.
Malek chuckled. “We’re used to it.” He replied. “But I agree that it can be very annoying.” He relaxed back against the couch.
“Annoying is not the words I’d use.” Delek retorted. “Trying to reason with idiots every day can be a very tormenting duty but someone has to do it, or die trying.”
Malek chuckled. “Your honourable sacrifice is duly noted.” Ocker sniggered as Delek smirked and raised his coffee mug in a mockery act of ‘cheers’. Malek playfully clinked mugs with him before drinking his drink and earning more laughter as the three of them relaxed.
“Well I suppose it is just a matter of waiting now.” Ocker commented. “When is O900 hours?”
Malek glanced at the clock. “Well it is 2000 hours now. So we have 13 hours until the meeting.”
“I suppose that it is evening again? Why am I not surprised we’ve spent most of the day sorting out this mockery of an alliance paperwork?” Delek asked with a sigh.
Malek smiled. “Yes it is evening and yes we have spent most of this time spent fixing the Tau’ri’s mistakes and presumptions.”
“My host and I are hungry but I do not desire interacting with the crowd of Tau’ri.” Ocker commented.
Malek smiled reassuringly. “You don’t have to leave, my host and I have a stash of microwaveable meals and snacks in the cupboards.”
“Microwaveable?” Delek asked curiously.
“The Tau’ri have found a way to cook and freeze meals.” Malek explained. “These cooked meals are stored until they are ready for consumption. When they want food they can simply put these pre-cooked meals into a device known as a microwave and re-heat them. I have eaten several before and despite the preservatives the humans like to add to the meals there is nothing wrong with the meals.”
“I noted that yesterday.” Ocker commented. “They always add so many preservatives.”
Malek nodded. “They do.”
“So what do you have?”
“A few pizzas and curries.” Malek answered.
“I have tried neither.” Ocker answered.
“Well we can try both, I’ll heat up a few pizza’s and curries.” Malek answered easily as he rose to his feet and moved to the small kitchen.
“How does the microwave work?”
Malek worked efficiently as he worked out how to answer. “The humans have learned to utilise different energies to power different devices. Almost all devices are run off electricity but the electricity is used to activate different devices built into the machines. The microwave in particular uses electricity to trigger a reaction within the machine. It uses a safe level of radioactive energy to heat the meals.”
“And the other devices?” Ocker asked.
Malek shook his head. “Honestly I never bothered to learn, my host took the devices for granted and the only reason I learned about the microwave because of how it heats whatever is within it. But I’ve learned that the level of radioactivity used is harmless to humans and therefore harmless to pretty much everything else.”
“And how long does it take to cook?” Delek asked.
“From what I understand it depends on the different types of meals and the settings of the microwaves. One or two minutes usually tends to be enough. Like all devices I am sure that it can be used to harm others but on its normal settings it is quite harmless.” Malek explained as he finally returned and lay the plates down on the small table. “The round flat food is called a pizza, it is dough with tomato sauce on top with cheese, ham or other toppings. One is chicken, a fowl, one is simply cheese and the last is cheese and ham. There are three curries, beef, chicken and prawn. Curries are basically rice with a spicy sauce and meat.”
“Ah, you mean like Lord Yu’s preferred meals.” Ocker commented.
“Yes.” Malek agreed. “Help yourself, what you don’t like I’ll have since Louis and I like them all.”
Of course having to eat a variety of meals everyday meant the Tok’Ra could eat pretty much anything, it was normally the hosts that dictated what they would eat. Ocker liked everything but Delek clearly preferred the meats rather than the veg and fish. Malek happily let them scoff what they wanted since the food was new to them, besides neither he or Louis were that hungry.
“So we have to have the Tau’ri agree to the paperwork and then leave for Agrippa. It is most likely that the humans will drag it out for some time though.” Delek commented as he ate. “I am assuming that this could take a few days.”
Malek nodded in agreement. “That’s most likely but I am friends with the president and I am sure if I appeal to him he will agree to speed up the approval.” Malek commented. “I’ll request that tomorrow, if I mention that we’re required back with the Tok’Ra it will make it seem more urgent and therefore more important to speed up the approval.”
“Do that. We don’t have time to stick around, the agent must already be preparing to travel to Agrippa and leave behind the location of our new base. I’d rather not leave any proof of our base lying around for someone to stumble upon even if it is encrypted.” Delek answered.
“If need be I can have Hammond allow one of us off base with SG1 to retrieve the information.” Malek replied.
“I’d rather not lead the Tau’ri to one of our safe-worlds.” Ocker answered. “We need to keep some things secret.”
“Ocker’s right, we need to keep some of our secrets secret.” Delek commented.
“I agree something’s have to remain quiet.” Malek answered easily. “But it is up to the council how much information is given away and what is kept, we simply can’t make such decisions independently.”
“Yes but I am sure they’d agree that some things must remain secret.” Delek replied.
“They most likely will but for now we remain quiet and not allow too much information to reach the ears of the Tau’ri authorities.” Malek agreed.
“You are correct of course.” Delek finally finished and relaxed. “But I still don’t see why we’re dealing with these people.”
Malek sighed. “Don’t. Just don’t start these again.” He pleaded, Delek sighed but went quiet.
“So…” Ocker began with a cheeky smile. “You left us all alone in a strange place to have some fun.”
Malek laughed and raised an eyebrow. “Jealous?”
“Very.” Ocker agreed before putting on a mock-pained look. “We were left all alone and defenceless, we had to rely on Daniel Jackson and Jack O’Neill to find somewhere to sleep.”
“You were alright though?” Malek asked.
Ocker smiled reassuringly. “We were fine. But it was quite annoying to be left alone.”
Malek chuckled. “You can stay here tonight if you wish, you’re already here and I don’t think Feodore is returning or he would have been back hours ago.” He commented. “Only probably is there is only one bed so you two have to share.” Malek raised his eyebrows suggestively at this. Ocker laughed and Delek sighed pretending not to be amused but it was ruined by his twitching lips. “I on the other hand will be chasing down Jack and tormenting the human for the next few hours.”
Ocker lifted a brow. “Why?”
“Because it’s fun.” Malek replied with a grin.
“These Tau’ri have been good for you.” Ocker commented with fond smile. “But I think it would be our duty to keep you from driving our potential allies mad.” He replied.
Malek pouted. “Traitor.” Ocker merely laughed.
“Louis has been a questionable influence on you.” Delek commented with amusement.
Hey! I am innocent! It is Malek that’s the bad influence.
-They can’t hear you!- Malek sung teasingly.
Crazy. You’re crazy!
“Louis is a very unique host.” Malek agreed with a smile. “As is Samantha and potential a good number of Tau’ri if they choose to be hosts.”
“I am not so sure but I suppose if I got a host like Louis I’d be happy, but I will not give up Sebastian he’s my perfect host.” Delek commented. “Still I would definitely like to get to know Louis better, he seems a passionate man and a caring host.”
“He is but he is very shy.” Malek answered. “He doesn’t feel confident with being in control because he feels so infantile amongst even other hosts, but he is a natural born leader and a very intelligent man.”
“Well that won’t last too long, you know Jolinar and Lantash will drag him out of his shell.” Ocker commented with a smirk. “And Aldwin will not allow Louis to feel alone, Gete and Martouf will do all they can to help as well.”
Malek grinned. “I told him that but I think Louis has grown more scared then confident, but that may be because I painted Misha, Rosha, Martouf and Gete as the base’s troublemakers.”
Delek laughed. “That they are. Leave those three unsupervised and they’d even try and prank Per’sus.”
Ocker grinned. “Didn’t work out so well though did it?”
Malek groaned. “Don’t remind me, I got punished with her even though I was asleep! I got my revenge later though.” Malek shot Delek a cheeky look. “She did look good in that dress, didn’t she?”
Delek groaned. “You mean you encouraged the council to send you to Apophis as his dancing lo’tar. Malek!” Malek merely chuckled. “That story is still popular you know, Aldwin and Lantash still laugh about it to this day.”
“And you use it for your personal time…” Ocker commented earning a pillow in his face from Delek, the bodyguard laughed and put the pillow with his collection. “Oh touchy.”
“He wished.” Malek commented sending Ocker into a fit of laughter as Delek shot Malek a put-out look. “He didn’t get Misha’s ass until much later.” Malek added.
“You were and are pure evil, Malek.” Delek commented with a frown. “That dress was…”
“Burned.” Malek replied. “Misha thoroughly enjoyed doing it too, you should have seen her, she literally tore it off her skin and set it alight whilst dancing around it naked! Only when the dress was irreparable did she allow me to take control so we could get clothes on and I was not allowed to touch another dress for years.” Delek was clearly still on the naked part of the sentence but Ocker was smirking. “However I may have burned and given away a few of our uniforms forcing her to wear dresses or walk around naked, she of course chose the dresses.” Malek smirked as he remembered Misha’s rants.
Don’t think you can do the same to me pal! If we have to choose between togas, loincloths or au natural I am going naked! You hear me!
-Very well beloved, naked it is.-
You are infuriating.
-I like to think I’m talented.-
Yes you’re very talented at annoying your hosts.
-It takes practice and I’ve had years of it.-
Clearly. Louis replied dryly. So how will we all find a place to sleep.
-The bed.-
But…
-Where do you think we were going to sleep? The floor?-
Er…But sharing the bed.
-The Tok’Ra often share sleeping spaces when off base, it makes it easier and keeps pairs of agents together when undercover. When growing a new base Tok’Ra often share their quarters with the Tok’Ra agent who don’t have quarters until the growing is done.-
So we’re sharing?
-Yes.- Malek answered. –Don’t worry our innocence has been taken by Feodore…-
Malek stop joking for once! You expect me to share a bed with two men!
-And two symbiotes.-
Malek!
-What’s wrong, they’re my brothers and I’ve done it before. Sharing a bed doesn’t always mean sex. Trust me.-
Very well but I am not happy and you’ll be hearing more in the morning.
-I’d be disappointed if I didn’t.- Malek replied fondly. –How about you try to get some sleep, Delek, Ocker and I will most likely be up for a while longer.-
Er…I don’t know if I want to go to sleep knowing I’ll be waking up next to two men. Louis commented amused.
Malek chuckled. –You know I could just make you sleep.-
You wouldn’t dare!
-No I wouldn’t but it would be worth it to hear you scream in the morning.-
Louis sighed as Malek laughed. You get worse.
-I know, but seriously trust me beloved, they won’t do anything.- Malek commented. –Besides I have to go an request an electronic device since they won’t just allow me to take one.-
Yeah I know, stupid protocols.
-No they’re good protocols which means not just anyone gets the devices, it is simply inconvenient when all I want to do is get back home as soon as possible.- Malek replied before sighing out loud and standing. “I will be back in a short while, do not worry about the dishes, the bedroom is beyond that door there.”
“Where are you going?”
“If we want to encrypt a Tau’ri device and take it off world we need to apply for the device, it can take a long while for an application to be approved or disapproved so I am going to get the ball rolling now. I’ll be back in half hour or so.” Malek promised before leaving the room.
Problem was the Tau’ri weren’t very forthcoming. It took Malek an hour to get the permission slip and he only received it because he finally called General Hammond to deal with the Tau’ri behind the desk. Then he had spent an hour trying to convince the Tau’ri to file the slip whilst the Tau’ri argued that he couldn’t file it out of office hours, but there were no office hours, there were night officers and day officers and this man was a night officer. His argument was sound but the Tau’ri wouldn’t listen and it was pure luck that Jack was walking past. The Colonel had immediately reprimanded the Tau’ri and watched the man file the slip and then he ensured that the document had been filed online so the slip wouldn’t just disappear. Malek was thankful to Hammond and Jack but he was now very tired.
They cleaned up. Louis commented when they noticed the plates missing from the living room table. I didn’t know they knew how to operate the sink.
Malek glanced over and saw that the sink was clean but a little wet. –They must have decided to work it out for themselves.- He thought thankfully. –Your people are tiring, I just want to sleep.-
You and me both, I can’t believe that fool. But I think he’s a new officer, I don’t recognise him and I knew most of the officers here.
-Well that’s one good thing. I wouldn’t want to think that your people still hate you because of me.- Malek commented.
We’re in this together; if they hate you they hate me. Louis replied. But you are right I am glad it is a newcomer and not the people I call friends treating me like that.
Malek didn’t immediately head to bed, instead he had a glass of water and mentally calmed before he joined his brothers. Louis was already drifting off and would soon be asleep but Malek he could not sleep just yet, he was angry, infuriated even. –Bloody Tau’ri.- Louis hummed questioningly. –Nothing beloved, go to sleep.-
“You look really angry.” Ocker commented as he entered the living room. “We heard you arrive but you didn’t come in.”
Malek sighed. “There was a new Tau’ri at the desk and he clearly doesn’t like Tok’Ra. It took me over two hours to get the permission slip filed and in the end I had to call in General Hammond.” Ocker sighed in annoyance and sent a look of sympathy. “I’ll be in in a minutes but right now I need to calm down.”
A cup of coffee and a slice of cake later Malek was far more relaxed and finally crawling into bed between his brothers. Delek half asleep instinctually moved to give Malek a little more space and Ocker curled around the two of them. Eventually Malek fell asleep at 0100 hours in the protective arms of his brothers.
