Malek would not apologise for his subterfuge should he have been caught. It was his duty to ensure his siblings wellbeing and he took that duty seriously. So, he watched Cosima, Abelie and Victoria closely, making sure that his fears were unfounded and that the bond between the three girls was growing stronger by each day. Fortunately, over the week it became apparent that they were meant to be. It was as if they were old friends embracing after years of absence. It was a joy to watch as well as relief. Perhaps with luck and trust Victoria would not be the only Tau’ri to become a host.
We are beginning to develop a deeper trust between our people. In time the Tok’Ra-Tau’ri alliance will be more than an idea written on paper. It will be a bond of blood and deep trust. Louis stated in reply to Malek’s deep thoughts. Like all the hosts before him, Louis balanced Malek’s seriousness with his outgoing, more cheerful nature. And Louis always knew when to speak up, when to be serious and when to be absolutely ridiculous to distract his symbiote. But we do have far more important things to concern ourselves with. Soon we will have word about whether my people will accept the alliance officially and then we need to go visit the hive.
Ah, the hive. Malek sighed. Strangely enough it felt like the beginning of the end, as if they were entering a new era in their fight against the Goa’uld. Never before had the Tok’Ra had so many useful and powerful allies and if the hive were willing to get to know the Tok’Ra it could mean they could become more active in the fight against their evil cousins. But this could be hope talking, or perhaps exhaustion. This war had gone on for centuries, millennia even and the Tok’Ra had very little to show for it, other than desperation, hope and despair. Malek had not been blind to the rising number of missing and dead agents, he could not ignore the devastation left in its wake, as brother lost brother and lovers lost lovers. He, himself had experienced such a cruelty centuries ago and he could vouch for the fact that such loss changed a person, no matter how much that person wished to deny it.
Those at war always want it to end, Malek. War is neither pretty or good or even useful. If you desired the fight to continue I’d be more concerned. Louis replied softly. But you are right. It feels like a change is coming but whether that change is good is not certain. But I believe the hive will want to help us, even if it is to offer shelter. I think they are as lonely as the Tok’Ra. They may live alongside humans but that will never compare to conversing with their own kin.
-I certainly hope they can help. Too much has been lost. And I do not think I can bear losing anyone else. Not after everything has been going so well, so perfect. -
All good things must come to an end, Malek. You should know this better than anyone. The only thing we can enjoy is the time we have together and with our family and friends. These moments must be clung to when they come and go, they give us a reason to live, to love and to fight.
-True enough, my wise host, true enough. -
“You look deep in thought, brother. Perhaps you will confide in me.” Malek glanced up at the voice and smiled welcomingly when he saw it was Lantash, finally parted from his mate and seeking out his friend. The other Tok’Ra took a seat knowing he was not unwelcome.
“I am just thinking of the change brought about by the Tau’ri.” Malek admitted. “It feels like something grand is coming, like this is an end of an era and the beginning of something greater.”
Lantash chuckled. “You brought this about, Malek, you and the Tau’ri, though mostly you. You have given our people another ally, even if the Tau’ri are still young and untried in the universe. Still despite their innocence and ignorance, the Tau’ri have proven to be formidable scientists and warriors. Perhaps they will bring an end to our fight, to help peace prosper throughout the universe, one world at a time. But the Tok’Ra will always remember it was you that influenced this.”
He’s right, we have become the ambassadors between my people and yours because of our connections with my people. We are trusted by both sides and have managed to do what few people could ever do. We’ve befriended a leader, changed and manipulated our way through politics and survived encounters which would see most people dead. And yet here we are, still alive and still standing strong. And just like Jolinar and Samantha, and one day Cosima and Victoria, we are a symbol of the alliance between our people, I am a Tau’ri, you are a Tok’Ra and we are united in one common goal, unity and peace.
“But your thoughts are deeper than this.” Lantash continued. “You are concerned for more than the Tok’Ra- Tau’ri alliance.” He stated eyeing Malek with concern. Malek forgot how perceptive his friend was, Lantash knew Malek well, could see Malek’s tells and had over the years become a valuable sounding board for Malek’s thoughts and doubts, offering alternative points of view and even a shoulder when Malek had reached his limits.
“What I want to show you and the others very soon could change everything.” Malek answered. “The problem is, I do not know if it will be for the better. So many things are uncertain and I feel unbalanced.” He leaned back in his seat, eyeing the plain ceiling. “Ever since I have joined with Louis, I have felt a change most profound. Never before has a host challenged my perception of the world, never before has a host affected me as much as Louis. I find myself straying from my duties, seeking out the pleasure of friends and other such indulgences and not feeling guilty for even a moment. At times I feel like a youngling, still swimming in the lakes of our birth, stupid and inexperienced. I have made so many mistakes, said so many stupid things and yet somehow everything has come together. Am I wrong to hope, am I wrong to keep encouraging this path?”
Lantash was suddenly beside him, a concerned expression on his face as he all but pulled Malek towards him. The familiar touch of Lantash’s arm around his shoulder and his warm body beside Malek’s brought a comfort Malek did not know he needed. “These doubts are unfounded. We all make mistakes, it is how we learn, but you have not made a mistake. You have brought hope and peace to a desperate people. The Tok’Ra tunnels are filled with excitement, they talk about you and the good you’ve done and they’re eager to see more. Through your actions you have made Louis beloved by all because all know what you think, what you desire is what Louis’s wants as well. If you give up this path now, you will disappoint your kin, who have faith in you.” Lantash’s finger went to Malek’s chin, forcing the councillor to look upon Martouf’s face and to meet Lantash’s expression of clear adoration. “I would not be here if I did not trust you, if I did not have faith in you and your ideas. Jolinar, Delek, Ocker and even Cosima would not be here if they did not believe in you. So, stop these foolish thoughts, my brother.”
“I do hope you are not flirting with my mate.” Delek scolded when he approached and saw how closely the pair were sat, both staring into each other’s eyes. But Delek also knew that this wasn’t a lover’s embrace, Lantash and Malek had a bond much deeper than any lover could compete with, the pair had been firm friends from birth, trusting each other with their lives without hesitation. As envious as Delek maybe he would never come between such a treasured bond. He did, however, sit at Malek’s other side, a large hand running down Malek’s back in an offer of comfort.
Lantash met Delek’s gaze, an unspoken message occurring between the pair before Lantash released Malek and rose to his feet. “I think Malek is in need of reassurance and I am in need of reaffirming my bond with Jolinar and Samantha.”
Malek chuckled. “Considering the complaints from most Tau’ri, I suspect that everyone knows she’s yours. But if you continue I doubt Jolinar will be able to continue healing Samantha, my dear friend. You are insatiable.”
Lantash grinned. “You remember.”
“How could I forget.”
I keep forgetting that you two once had a relationship.
-We have always been close, but he is straight and I am much more…flexible. - Louis laughed at this response, offering a gentle caress of his mind as the pair leaned back into Delek’s welcoming embrace.
“So why do you need comfort, Mer Cor.” Delek asked softly. “Who has made you doubt yourself?”
“No-one, the only one who doubts is myself. But Lantash is right, I am foolish for doing so. I think I am just realising how much change is coming and doubting whether I am as ready for it as I thought.”
Delek hummed and rested his head on Malek’s shoulder. “We all have moments like this. I am ashamed to say I did not handle change well and I hurt the one I held most dear.” Malek knew exactly what the other meant but chose to say nothing. Delek did not seem to mind as he continued to speak. “But Malek, the change you bring also brings hope. The tunnels are light, full of happiness, hope and so much gossip. Never before have I seen a base that has been so light-hearted. You have changed things for the better, I cannot express the joy I feel to be a part of this. To be by your side and helping our people more than I have ever been able to in so long brings a sense of great satisfaction and pride whenever I think on it. I have never felt so my joy, so much happiness and contentment and it is because of you.”
“You give me too much credit.”
“On the contrary, you don’t get enough. No one has yet to truly thank you for the good you’ve done. You should be celebrated.” The tone in Delek’s voice made it clear that the man would not allow Malek to dispute his words and Malek did not try. He knew he was being foolish and Delek did not tolerate foolishness. Delek hummed, pleased at Malek’s silence. “General Hammond promised that the final preparations would soon be made. Soon High Councillor Per’sus will be needed to officially sign the documents with the leader of these people. I wonder how long we must wait.”
Malek sighed. “There is no guarantee it will be ready by the end of the week, the Tau’ri government is like our own council, slow to act. The treaty is all but officially signed, already we share a great deal of trust, we just need our leaders to get off their backsides and sign the document.”
“There is much danger involved. Per’sus has not strayed from the safety of a Tok’Ra base and there are those who would take advantage of any meeting to eliminate our leader and devastate our people as a whole.”
Malek snorted. “I know this. But it seems as if this has been dragged out for too long.”
“Perhaps it has, but for good reasons. Although you have proven that our wariness to trust would have lost us the Tau’ri allies to begin with. We are all thankful you have acted on our behalf, now let the rest of the council play their part. Besides we are heading elsewhere, aren’t we? I am eager to meet our cousins, to get a taste for the adventures you had whilst away.”
“The moment General Hammond allows it I will be taking you to see them. But until then we must wait and bide our time.”
“Something we are all very good at.” Delek replied. “Although at times Samantha and Louis influence you and Jolinar into being a little impatient.”
I make no apologies.
Malek laughed. “I cannot say sorry, if I had waited as long as the council wished, we would not be here.”
“True.”
“I see we are interfering. Would you prefer we came back another time?”
Malek glanced up, surprised at the presence of Cosima, Abelie and Victoria. “Not at all, please sit. What brings you pair out of the Infirmary, has Dr Fraiser chased you away?”
“No.” Cosima replied. “I admit I am curious about your plans. Ocker and Delek have said we have another destination, another world you wish to visit. May I ask why?”
Delek chuckled. “I don’t think you’d believe us. Perhaps it is better to wait and see.” He offered on Malek’s behalf.
Cosima glared at Delek and the man held up his hands in mock innocence. “I have rarely been off base and would like to know what I should be anticipating and preparing for.”
Malek smiled. “You don’t need preparation, where we are going is a safe world, long since protected from the Goa’uld. A paradise where equality is a way of life and peace more than an idea. Think of it as simply another place to indulge in a rare vacation before return to base.” Cosima eyed him with scepticism, before her eyes turned to Victoria and Malek realised just why she was wary and unsure. “I am sure Victoria here could come with us if Hammond allows it.”
Victoria looked startled. “I can’t leave the base, I have my duties and I am certainly not qualified.”
Malek waved his hand. “You don’t need any qualifications where we are going and it would certainly give you a taste for life as a Tok’Ra. I will speak to Hammond when I have the chance to.” And he would hear no more about her hesitation, waving off her protests with an amused smile and dragging his mate from the cafeteria to explore the base and escape Cosima’s questions. Delek followed easily with a huge smile on his host’s face, as Malek led them to the one place they would not be disturbed. Sam and Daniel’s lab. Fortunately, Samantha was busy with Lantash and Martouf, leaving the councillors alone for the first time in a week, even Ocker was absent, developing a friendship with the humans as he knew Malek was safe and protected. Malek turned to Delek and grinned. “Finally, alone.”
“And no one will disturb us for a while.” Delek answered just as pleased. “I have not yet had the opportunity to reaffirm our bond. Politics have taken precedence, but we have time now.”
Malek smiled and pressed against his mate, loving the feel of his mate’s arms around him, where they belonged. “Delek?” Malek stated softly. “Are you truly certain about Feodore? I don’t want you to do what you are uncomfortable with.”
Delek’s eyes darkened. “Shall I show how attractive I find the both of you.” He asked, his voice equally as dark with arousal. “Ever since I realised I could have you I wondered just how you would look undone by his hands and I found that whilst I was jealous, I was also incredibly turned on.” And Malek could feel exactly how attractive the other found the idea. “I only hope Feodore is open to the idea of sharing, as I am not letting you go.”
Malek laughed, happily following Delek’s pushing and pulling until he was forced to lie atop one of the desktops. He could feel papers beneath his back, a pen digging into Louis’s shoulder but none of that mattered when he met his mate’s unblinking stare. “You know Daniel will not be pleased if we mess up his research.” He scolded, reluctantly. “We do have chambers we could go to.”
“Chambers we share with Ocker.” Delek countered. “And I want it to just be you and me.”
“Soon we will be five.” Malek reminded his mate. “Not just us four, Feodore too if he accepts.”
“You are right of course. And perhaps it is not us who need time but our hosts. Louis and Sebastian haven’t spent much time together have they? Perhaps we should change this.”
Malek chuckled at Louis’s groan of annoyance. “Perhaps another time, beloved. If your host is anything like mine, they’ll be wanting us to reaffirm our bond before they will even let us consider them.” He stated, reaching up a hand to caress Delek’s cheek. “I have kept us waiting for far too long.”
“Not at all. I deserved every moment.” Delek replied softly. “But let us forget those bad memories by making more good ones. Erase the hurt with joy and hope.”
I didn’t realise Delek could be so corny. Nor did I know he had such a way with words.
-His last host had been a poet and a thinker, always writing and always admiring the beautiful and the new. -
A cough had the pair glaring at the door where a rather startled and embarrassed Daniel Jackson stood. Malek sighed, letting his head fall back to the table. “Do you mind, Daniel? We did not expect you back for a while.”
“You’re on my desk.”
“So…”
“Don’t you have quarters on base.” Daniel asked looking a little pink.
He’s embarrassed. He is not used to the Tok’Ra’s openness.
Delek seeming to realise this smirked and Malek inwardly sighed knowing what was to come. “You could always join us human. You’d be most welcome.”
“I…ah…” Daniel blinked obviously startled by the invitation. “I… that is to say…I can finish my work in my quarters.”
Malek laughed the moment the human left and lightly swatted at his mate’s arm. “You should not have done that.”
Delek smirked. “Such delicate Tau’ri sensibilities. At least it brought us time alone, my heart.”
“You seem to forget that my host is a Tau’ri. Perhaps he is no longer interested.” Malek answered teasingly, even as he pressed small kisses to Delek’s chin and leaned into the other man’s touch.
Malek felt Delek’s grin upon his skin. “Then I will just have to convince him, won’t I?” Delek answered boldly. Louis chuckled at Delek’s determination, more than willing to play along as Malek ceded control. Delek must have felt the change, but did not hesitate. The Tok’Ra sought out the places that made Louis squirm and moan but soon the tides turned as Louis retaliated. Louis could not believe they were finally here, together at last. All the coaxing and persuading and yet Malek and Delek had not had the time to spend more than a few moments with one another and now that they had time Malek had given this precious time to Louis to enjoy but Louis would not allow Malek to become passive. They would share this time together as they would for every moment onwards.
-I am not being passive, beloved. I am sharing in a joyous moment, where we are finally whole. Or rather, almost whole, if only Feodore would accept his place with us. -
I think Feodore will surprise you. I bet he embraces this and more.
Delek started laughing suddenly, startling Malek who retook control of his host’s body to meet the other man’s eyes with curiosity. “If I did not know you were talking with your host I may have been disappointed by your lack of attention.” He teased. Malek laughed then, realising he had stilled his actions as he’d been distracted by the images Louis had been showing him. But Delek clearly did not mind as he continued his assault upon the sensitive skin of Malek’s neck, curling his arms underneath Louis’s body to hold Malek and Louis close to his own.
“Perhaps you should ask us what we were talking about.” Malek suggested with a smile.
“I can imagine. Louis is a very bad influence on you.” Delek replied.
Hey!
Malek laughed again and let his hands wander. “I hope we are going to do more than kiss and talk, my heart. Otherwise we could do this back at our quarters with Ocker watching.” Delek chuckled, easily sliding out of his jacket before tugging Malek out of his. “I have waited too long to stop now, Delek. Never doubt that. I want you just as Louis wants you. We have a lot of time to make up for and very little time to do so.”
“We have all the time in the world, Malek. I told you, I am not letting you go.”
Malek had to admit, he loved hearing this and knowing that Delek did not hate him like he no longer hated the other. He wrapped his arms around the man’s shoulder and pressed his lips to the skin beneath Delek’s ear. “Show me.” He breathed. He felt Delek’s response, the tightening of his arms and the intake of breath as Delek quelled his urge to take Malek right then and there.
“Yes.” Delek breathed in response. With nothing else stopping them, their words stopped, their voices becoming breathless moans as hands went beyond the barrier of clothes to touch warm skin. Malek did not fight when Delek continued to dominate him, he would return the favour another day. But right now, he wanted to feel his mate, to experience the pleasure that only Delek could give. Just like in the council chambers, Delek was not fast, each touch was measured, savoured and applied with just the right pressure to elicit a response. Delek knew Malek’s weakest spots, but not Louis’s and so it felt much more like an exploration, the first of many encounters to get to know Malek’s new host.
Each gentle touch infuriated Malek beyond measure, but at the same time served to prove that this was real and finally happening. He returned the favour, teasingly caressing the skin of Sebastian’s neck, where Delek lay beneath and feeling the symbiote squirm. His other hand slid down to Delek’s hip, working the shirt free from his trousers to expose Sebastian’s sensitive stomach. Malek laughed when the muscles twitched beneath his wandering digits before pressing his nose to Delek’s skin, smelling the scent that was purely his mate’s.
Knowing fingers quested over Louis’s skin, slipping ever further down to where Malek and Louis desired them, but never quite reaching their hidden place. Delek sighed. “Do you have anything to ease the way?” He asked, his voice little more than a whisper as his hand teased Malek’s heated flesh.
Malek grinned. “Samantha keeps some in the drawer at her desk.”
Delek pulled back to eye Malek with a raised brow. “And how do you know this?” Malek merely laughed and waved Delek off as the other walked over to the desk and began searching the drawers. A surprised sound told Malek he’d found what he sought and soon his mate’s warm body was back, pressing upon him, pinning him to the desk as the bottle was opened and fingers slicked.
Malek was not ashamed to say that thoughts escaped him when the pleasure returned, deeper and more fulfilling than the lighter touches Delek had gifted him before. He was, however, surprised to realise that in his pleasure he was losing control, there were moments where it was certainly him moaning and yielding to Delek’s exploration, but there were moments where Louis’s own sounds came to the fore, where it was Louis who acted, grasping onto powerful shoulders and trying to retaliate in moments of coherence. And then there was the glorious moment where all awareness failed, where pleasure began to become too much, where the teasing became unbearable. It was in this moment that Malek somehow retained control, grabbing his startled mate and pressing desperate kisses to warm yielding lips. “Stop teasing me!” Malek tried to snarl, but he was sure it came out as a breathless whine. Nevertheless, Delek withdrew, his laugh echoing through the room as fingers were replaced with something bigger, something longer and much more desired.
It was hard to forget that Louis had no experience with relationships with other men. The host surely knew where to touch, where to kiss, bite and lick until Delek was barely coherent himself. Slow teasing motions turned to desperate thrusts, soft moans became cries and moans and gentle fingers turned to grasping claws as the pleasure reached its high and then the pair tumbled over the precipice, one after the other. Malek was deaf to everything but Delek’s cries as the other reached the zenith of pleasure, warmth spread through his body, through his heart and the pit of his stomach and he felt a smile form on his face, an expression of sated pleasure and contentment. When he dared open his eyes a moment later he saw that expression mirrored upon Delek’s face.
Good to finally be home, huh?
-I do not understand what you mean. -
Home is where the heart is, Malek and your heart belongs with Delek and hopefully one day, Feodore.
-A quaint expression. Yes, it does almost feel like coming home. What do you feel? -
I think I could get used to this. I think this is where we belong.
-I am glad. -
We are in this together, my heart. -
“You should not be thinking so deeply after such and encounter.” Delek chastised quietly, a teasing smile upon his face.
“I am only thinking of you.” Malek replied softly.
“Do tell.”
“Louis said it better, ‘home is where the heart is’, and you are home.” Malek replied. He felt Delek pause, saw the glimmer in the other Tok’Ra’s eyes before his breath was taken away by desperate lips. Malek responded in kind, clinging to his mate and holding the other as Delek worked through the storm of emotions caused by his words.
Perhaps Malek’s turn on top would have come sooner had the speaker system not activated and for General Hammond’s voice to echo through the room as he asked Malek and Delek to report to the meeting room. The pair sighed, disappointed before redressing.
Both startled when they saw Ocker outside. “How long have you been here, my friend?” Malek asked when he saw the man had taken a guarding position.
Ocker grinned. “From the beginning, I was with Daniel when you decided to get some time alone. You did not notice me, so I chose to make sure you were undisturbed. However, Jolinar came by with Lantash, I turned them away but I think they suspect. Be prepared for some teasing.”
Delek groaned and Malek laughed. “Well let’s not keep them waiting.” Malek replied simply, leading his bodyguard and mate back through the hall and to the meeting room. Unsurprisingly Jolinar and Lantash were both already there and the look upon their faces warned Malek that the pair would have some fun teasing him when the meeting was adjourned.
General Hammond waited for them to take a seat before handing out several files, each with the self-same document within. “The treaty draft has been thoroughly analysed and after much consideration the government agrees that it is the best and fairest treaty to sign. Therefore, they have officially agreed to the terms and are eager to complete an official signing. I have suggested it be here on base, therefore offering protection to your leader and also protecting the meeting from interference by outside parties.”
Malek nodded. “That sounds reasonable, but it will take some time to arrange for this meeting to be entirely safe. Our leader rarely leaves the safety of our bases, and every time he moves it is veiled in as much secrecy as possible. If this treaty is to be officially signed the council will insist that a select group of Tok’Ra are brought in to secure this base from top to bottom. However, this could benefit us greatly as it means several Tok’Ra agents will be working alongside Tau’ri soldiers for several weeks before the official signing and may lead to later personnel exchanges. The main issue is that your government will be bringing in unknown individuals whose alliances may be undisclosed. I hope you will be vetting all and every visitor to ensure there is no hiccups.”
Hammond nodded. “I’ve already specified that there will be a limit on each party, we do not need to many people involved as it allows a potential threat to slip in un-noticed and unchallenged. There may be some issue with personnel exchange, as the government would wish to do the same, however if you can limit the size group and ensure they will sign a non-disclosure agreement I may be able to work around the red tape. It is more than likely that our leader will want you and Samantha to be directly involved as the first and currently only Tau’ri hosts. If so, it may be advisable for you two to take over the security for the Tok’Ra during this time as representatives of the Tau’ri and the Tok’Ra. A neutral party, if you will.”
“A wise precaution.” Jolinar agreed. “Until the treaty is signed there will be many who will take offence for the littlest thing. If Malek and myself as well as our hosts are in some position of authority, we will have assuaged the rumours, speaking for both sides in a neutral way, ensuring continued peace. In theory of course. We all know that plans don’t always follow the schedule we set.”
Everyone smiled at this, plans were made to be broken after all. Malek leaned back in his seat. “There will be those who will see our participation as anything but innocent, however. If anything, they may see Jolinar and myself using our hosts to lure others into becoming hosts. They may paint us as spies and tyrants.” He stated softly. “Perhaps it would be useful if we are not directly involved in the security on the side of the Tau’ri. If we are seen sorting out Tok’Ra security, the people in power will think we are keeping the Tok’Ra in check for the Tau’ri,”
“Therefore, acting like spies on the Tau’ri’s behalf.” Delek stated with distaste.
“Unfortunately, so.” Malek agreed. “With the signing of this treaty more people will learn of the Stargate and us and since our nature requires us to live within hosts we will be compared to our parasitic cousins. Most will disdain us for our nature and think us monsters. If they see us working for them in some capacity any distrust might be quelled.”
“It certainly will not calm the mass but it would gain us some silent support from the sceptics.” Jolinar agreed.
“But this is all pure speculation. We cannot make any concrete plans without the participation of the rest of the council and we must speak to our leader and discuss our options before we make any more deals.” Malek answered. “Whether we like it or not, we must wait for the rest of the council.”
“And there are some who would see this all derailed.” Delek added solemnly.
“Politics. This is why I refused a seat on the council.” Lantash muttered.
“Unfortunately, politics are necessary.” Hammond replied. “But since we cannot discuss anything further, I believe it best to end this short meeting by letting you know that I have told the Gate staff to be ready to dial the planet of your choice when you are ready to leave. Malek has already requested a destination, so please feel free to leave when you wish, although I hope to see you all return, this past week has been very educational and has served to strengthen both our alliance and our friendship.”
“We too are grateful for this experience.” Delek replied. “It is rare that we have a chance to indulge in free time but this last week has given us and our hosts an opportunity to relax. I appreciate the offer to return and I would like you to know that I may take you up on that offer in the future. I believe that you and your people have much to teach us, just as we you. I look forward to future opportunities to trade knowledge and share in the company of such a notable species.”
Did he just compliment my people? Louis asked, shocked.
-I believe he just did. - Malek answered with a pleased purr. -I think he’s earned a reward. -
Indeed, he has. Louis agreed.
“Well I have every intention of bringing Louis home on occasion and you will be with me, so perhaps in time we’ll both be regulars.” Malek answered. “But for now we should leave. With the treaty in our possession we cannot spend too much time away from base. However, I do want to take you all to a sacred place, at least for a few days.”
“Malek is right, with the agreed treaty in our possession we should get what we need done and head back.” Delek stated.
“Then we should head back to base.” Jolinar offered.
“No.” Ocker answered. “Trust me when I say that what Malek has to show us will change everything.”
“You know?” Lantash asked.
“Only a little, but enough to know that we need to see what he’s taking us to see.” Ocker replied.
“Thank you Ocker.” Malek stated before turning to Hammond. “I think we will be leaving immediately, since time is not on our side. But we thank you greatly for the hospitality you and your people have shown. It was a pleasure to see you again and in time I hope my people will call yours friend and vice versa. Until then, stay safe and alert.”
“It was good to see you all, especially Louis and Samantha, it only strengthens our alliance when we see two of our own people so obviously well cared for.” Hammond replied. “But I also class you as one of ours, Malek. You have supported us through much and been a valuable asset to our people. This place is your home as well as Louis’s and the same goes for Jolinar. I hope it will not be too long before we see you again.”
“You know, I am becoming quite wary about what this surprise is.” Jolinar complained. She had focused on Malek so didn’t see Delek or Ocker sharing a grin since both had heard Malek’s story.
Malek grinned at Jolinar’s demanding stare and merely rose to his feet, clasping Hammond’s hand in his as they said their final farewells. Louis took control a few moments later and went so far as to hug the elder man. If Hammond was surprised he made no sign of it, merely embracing Louis and smiling widely as he did so. “I am glad I have had so many opportunities to return home.” Louis stated. “But I know Malek’s position among the Tok’Ra is important and when this treaty is signed officially we may not be able to take as much time as we have so far to visit Earth.” Louis stated out loud. “Although Malek promises we will not stay away forever, I know that circumstances can change and since we are at war with the Goa’uld I will make as many good memories of this place whilst I can.”
“True enough.” Samantha answered. “Although I suspect you will be safer than me. Malek rarely leaves his base and for good reason, he is one of the best base Commanders we have.”
-Now, now. I have you know that we are all good at our jobs. -
But you always think of your people first. Politics doesn’t interfere, instead you use it to protect and ensure the will of the people. I wish more politicians were like you, instead politics are full of self-serving, money grabbing imbeciles whose only claim to power is their bloodlines and their posh schooling.
-High praise, but I will not accept it. I am just doing my job. -
Then I will accept it for you.
“We will not let you walk into danger.” Lantash stated firmly.
“Unfortunately, danger is everywhere.” Louis replied. “I could fall down the stairs on my way to the gate room and break my neck killing myself and Malek instantly. Our base could be attacked and we could die under fire or destroyed by the tunnels I once called home. We could be attacked between worlds, captured, enslaved and tortured.” He explained. “Life is not kind and it certainly isn’t fair, but we do what we can to enjoy every moment we have.”
“Amen.” Samantha stated in agreement.
“Now is not the time for grim thoughts.” Delek chastised. “I am eager to see this surprise of yours.”
This time it was Hammond who seemed reluctant to let them go, continuing to speak to Samantha about some of the things they’d discovered in her absence as they slowly left the meeting room and ambled to the gate room. As Tok’Ra they did not carry luggage and were ready to go the moment they had decided to. The only baggage was the treaty hidden safely upon Malek’s person, encrypted should they be attacked and it fell into the wrong hands. Malek allowed Louis the benefit of having control, it seemed only right since it was his host’s home and they did not know when they’d return or even if they’d return. The council may have announced Jolinar and Malek as ambassadors, but Louis was right, circumstance could change, through politics or through other external interferences, such as death. Although death was more than an interference, more a travesty considering how young Louis was and how much the host had yet to give.
The familiar claxon as the Chaapa’ai was activated was an annoyance to Malek but he felt Louis’s enjoyment and sadness at the familiar sound. It was not unusual to feel homesickness but in truth this was the first time Louis had had such a serious case. Perhaps it was the fact that soon the official treaty would be signed and therefore Louis felt Malek would not be obligated to return. Malek could soothe this suspicion by repeating that he intended to return as regularly as he was able, but in cases like this action spoke greater than words. Louis would see his people again, Malek would guarantee it.
There was a palpable sombreness when they all reached the gate-room as the Tau’ri within the room knew that there would be a chance that they would not see each other again for a long time. Malek made sure not to drag out the farewells, they’d already wasted a lot of time talking and Louis was already feeling anxious, though the host made an admirable attempt to hide it from his symbiote. Without hesitation he led the others through the gate and grinned when he saw who waited for him on the other side. “Peace, my friends, I bring my brethren, the Tok’Ra.”
Feodore laughed. “We were expecting you.” He answered. “I am sure you remember Damon, Theon, Paris and Yannis.” He continued. “They were eager to meet you again as they found their last conversation with you fascinating. Perhaps you will indulge us with more?”
“Are those three women?” Yannis asked sounding very confused and surprised. “Women have never been upon this world. This is quite unprecedented.”
“But they have not reacted so they must be welcome.” Paris answered. “They are our guests and we must treat them with respect as we do all visitors.”
Malek frowned. “I did not think bringing a sister and a potential sister would be offensive.”
Feodore laughed, a deep one that sounded full of genuine happiness. “Not at all Malek, not at all. We have never seen a woman on this world so are unsure what code of conduct we should be following. On top of that a few men would see it as strange but I can vouch for the morals of my people, your sisters will find no ill will here.” He turned to Cosima, Samantha and Victoria then. “Welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay on my humble home world.” He greeted before turning to the gathered Tok’Ra. “It is quite late and although I am sure you are eager to explore I would like to extend to you my hospitality.”
Malek glanced at Delek who simply waved his hand in encouragement. “Then I graciously accept the offer on behalf of my people.” He stated officially before he smiled. “Shall we?”
“So, you have brought us here with no clue about this place.” Cosima stated. “Are we going to get an explanation?”
It was Paris who answered, a big smile upon his face as he turned to her and began to explain how his people were brought to this world and about their culture. Even Damon, the quieter of the five pitched in and Cosima, always perceptive, listened closely given the men her undivided attention. By the time they reached Feodore’s residence Cosima understood much of their culture and Victoria, so far silent as they only normal human in the group began asking some incredibly astute questions about their culture, namely about their courtship and about the mysterious protectors the men referenced vaguely throughout their conversation.
It won’t be long before she realises why we’ve brought them here. Louis said with admiration in his tone.
-Indeed, I find myself hoping she will be a host to Cosima after all, we can only benefit from such a person within our ranks. – Malek answered. -But we must let her make her choice. Perhaps our friends can help us. –
They could certainly do no harm. Their presence within our minds would certainly help her adjust to the idea of being a host, of having another’s thoughts in our minds.
-True, and they could teach her much about how being a host works. After all you thought you had no freedom of thought when we first joined. Although I understand why, our joining was not the most ideal way to blend. Still, you have learned that I do not dictate or control you mind, but speaking this simple statement does not help your species who believe us vindictive overlords of the mind. No, Victoria will have to experience it for herself and decide if blending is what she truly desires. –
I have forgiven you for the first time we joined. Louis answered. But your point is sound. I have seen enough of my people react badly to my presence because they believe you will jump out and take them as a host for the sheer enjoyment of forcing your will onto another. Although Victoria has not reacted badly to our presence it is best we give her a glimpse at the bond before she agrees to become a host.
-If we weren’t so desperate for hosts, my people would have tried something similar before. But more often than not we are forced to take hosts in inhospitable situations and therefore cannot simply ‘orient’ a person and get them used to the idea of being a host. If we had such time we’d screen every human first. –
“…welcome to any food and drink I have. Our farms are very productive and we have plenty for all.” Feodore was saying to the group with a kindly expression on his face. “I understand that often your people do not have time for relaxation, Malek has explained enough for me to understand this. So, I offer that for this eve you may explore the town. If you accompany one of my friends we will gladly escort you and explain the heritage of each of our buildings and inherited arts. There is also a play scheduled at the theatre this eve and you are most welcome to see it, art is one of our greatest achievements and we enjoy sharing it with all who choose to stay and watch.”
Cosima tilted her head. “Forgive the rudeness of my question but does this offer extend to myself and my female companions?”
Theon stepped forward. “As long as you are escorted my brothers will see that you are welcome. I will gladly take you to the market vendors, if it pleases you, my husband is currently working at the blacksmith with his brother and I had planned to visit him.”
“We would not be interfering?” Victoria asked nervously.
Theon smiled, making his face look younger and judging by Victoria’s sigh, earning him his first and only female fan. “I would not have offered if it had interfered with my plans, my lady. I will gladly escort you though I ask for one favour.”
“And what would that be?” Cosima asked, ever the suspicious one.
“Indulge my curiosity and answer some of my questions.” Theon answered. “And if my husband agrees, I would gladly offer you shelter within my home should you choose not to accept Feodore’s offer.”
Cosima eyed him for a moment before nodding. “Very well. But only if you answer some of our questions as well.”
Theon laughed. “I am a scholar before I am a warrior and I know the importance and eagerness of learning. I will gladly answer your questions just as I hope you will gladly answer mine.” He answered before turning to the larger group who’d watched the exchange with amusement. “Good evening gentlemen. Perhaps we shall see each other this eve, otherwise I will see you in the morning.”
When Samantha made no move to join them she earned a look from the remaining Greek men but Lantash stood forward and clasped her hand on her shoulder, none could mistake his protective posture. “My mate stays with me.” He stated firmly.
Feodore looked startled before a smile lit up his face. “Mates?” He asked. “Then to separate you would be a crime. Should you choose to stay here you are quite welcome to do so.”
Jolinar nodded. “I’d prefer to stay by my brothers’ sides.” She stated. “And with my mate.”
“Then so be it, you will stay here.” Feodore confirmed before turning to Theon and the two remaining Tok’Ra women. “Good evening.” Feodore responded, a grin on his face as he watched the smaller man leave his home with the two women following closely behind. “I had not expected such a scene, though I am glad it has happened. Theon is a good man; his husband and he will make sure the women remain safe and content.”
Yannis nodded. “Theon is indeed a noble man, too noble at times which is why he needed a husband. Too trusting at times but rest assured your female companions are safe.” He turned to Feodore then. “I am off, myself.”
“Going back to the library to talk to that handsome scholar of yours?” Damon teased.
“Airon is just helping me uncover some of our lost history.” Though judging by the slight pink on Yannis’s cheeks this was not the truth. “If you would excuse me.” He stated and without waiting for dismissal he left, Damon dogging his heels as the latter taunted the former about his apparent love interest.
“And so that leaves just us.” Paris stated with a laugh. “Though I will not be as rude as to leave you without entertainment or escort. “Would any of you like me to escort you somewhere?”
Ocker shook his head. “My duty is to remain at Malek’s side. That does not change, even when we are on such a hospitable planet surrounded by welcoming people.”
Lantash and Jolinar also shook their heads and Lantash spoke for them. “As my mate has said, we will remain here with our kin.”
Paris nodded admiration in his gaze. “A soldier is still a soldier no matter the circumstance. And it is quite apparent, Malek, that you other kin are also as eager to stay so it appears I am no longer needed. Feodore?”
“Go home my friend, if I need you I know where to find you.” Feodore assured.
Paris nodded. “Then I bid you a good evening and hope to see you later at the play.”
“You’re going?” Feodore asked.
“My brother is the one performing.” Paris confided. “It would be remiss of me not to go.”
“Forgive the personal intrusion.” Delek stated. “But considering you said only men live on this world I am assuming you have other ways to…. repopulate? Or are you far older than you appear?”
“Both.” Feodore answered. “When we were saved from the false Gods we were given both the gift of longevity and of life. On average one of my people can live up to three hundred years and a few men, our ‘submissive’ if you will, have been blessed with the ability to give life. Although this gift is quite rare, which is why our submissives are so well protected.”
Delek nodded his understanding and when he asked no more questions Paris finished his goodbyes and left. Feodore turned then to face them. “Since we have time to waste until the play I thought it wise to offer a meal and drink. No doubt you have questions and I have time to answer those I can.”
“Some of our questions are a little bit more intimate than what the others have asked.” Malek answered. “We have much to discuss.”
Feodore nodded. “I thought as much but I am not one to presume. But such discussions can wait for a more appropriate time.” He answered. “Now come. I have stocked my wine cabinet with some of the finest wine my people have to offer and all the food I have is fresh, please come, help yourself.”
I think Feodore is avoiding the confrontation from happening too soon. He might fear the worst. And unlike his people who are quite open about affection, I think he may be waiting for Ocker to be dismissed so we can discuss it privately. Louis offered.
-You might be right. But if we rush into this we could do everything wrong. Let us take him up on the offer and consider the best way to open this discussion. –
Judging by Ocker and Delek’s expressions we may have a harder time than usual.
Malek chuckled. -Indeed, Ocker has always been protective of me, it is in his nature although many think it is just him doing his duty. Delek on the other hand is more… possessive protective. Feodore will have to face them both. –
Ocker is over protective at times. I think he’d follow you anywhere without hesitation. Have you and he ever…?
-Me and Ocker? No. Never. Ocker is, how you say, straight, prefers women and Misha was very much in love with Sebastian and Delek. No Ocker and I have never had that type of relationship. Though I can understand why you felt you had to ask the question. A lot of my memories evolve around him and my siblings. He hasn’t always been at my side but the times he was not there are fewer than the times that he was there. Perhaps in another life we did become more. But not in this universe. –
Shame, he is not difficult to look at. Louis’s comment had Malek laughing aloud, earning him looks from all three of his companions, but he waved them off and took a seat eagerly eyeing the selection of food Feodore had left upon the table.
As one could imagine dinner was a relatively quiet affair, Ocker was the ‘third wheel’ keeping the conversation from more intimate matters. Although Malek intended to change this, since Ocker would not be going anywhere any time soon. That symbiote was ridiculously loyal, although Malek was not complaining since that devotion had saved his life more than once. Still it was hard not to feel guilty when Ocker gave up much of his private time to stay at Malek’s side.
He wouldn’t do it if he wasn’t sure he wanted to be by your side, but that is why I asked if he’s gay. That type of loyalty is not always so innocent. But in this case Ocker is genuinely devoted to you through strong friendship. I have to admit I envy it, although he is now technically loyal to me, he has followed you loyally since your birth. That devotion is nothing to scoff at. Louis answered his thoughts.
-I am very fortunate. - Malek agreed.
“So, this play you spoke of earlier, what is it about?” Delek asked.
“Legend says we were brought here on this day by our saviours, as such we celebrate our freedom by acting out our enslavement and subsequent rebellion and salvation.” Feodore explained.
Malek could not hide his smug smile, knowing exactly what the tale would be about. Delek bumped shoulders with Malek, an amused smile on his face. “I cannot wait to see the girls faces.” Malek stated. “Cosima will work it out instantly.” He literally quivered with excitement making Louis laugh at the phantom sensation.
“I am still here.” Jolinar chided. “And even more suspicious about this play.” Her suspicion was obviously confirmed when all Malek did was grin.
“We must all go and watch.” Ocker stated. “I am curious to see how these people escaped their Goa’uld captor. I also want to see the depiction of their saviours.” He glanced at Malek whose grin was slowly growing. “No spoilers, Malek, you’ve told us enough. I want to see for myself.” He scolded fondly.
Malek could not help himself anymore, he broke out into laughter, his excitement too much to contain. “Alright Ocker.” He stated through laughter. “I will not say a word.” He leaned back in his seat feeling very lethargic and relaxed, a feeling that only arose when he was surrounded by friends, content, fulfilled and safe.
Eventually the meal came to a close, although Louis had to take over for a few moments to eat while Malek laughed in their mind, relaxed enough to forgo professionalism and decorum. Louis liked how Malek was behaving, from their shared memory Malek was a very stern symbiote who took a while to relax because of having so much responsibility, it was great to see the more childish and relaxed side to Malek. Not only that but Louis saw a visible change in the behaviour of other Tok’Ra due to Malek’s more relaxed demeanour. He knew it would not last forever but this relaxed state of being and joyous moment in Malek’s life would always remain in their shared memory, a precious moment to look back upon when things became much more serious.
After all nothing good lasted forever.
-No, it doesn’t, beloved, but we will make every happy moment last forever in our memory. - Malek answered, calm once more thanks to Louis’s thoughts. -We should not think of such things now beloved. - He scolded as he retook control.
Unknowing of Malek and Louis’s thoughts, Delek and Ocker had been talking to their host, getting to know Feodore until the dreaded topic arose. “So Feodore, I have heard much about you.” Delek stated. It was clearly a lie, Malek was more relaxed recently, that much was true, but Malek kept his personal life private, Delek had only known enough to know Malek was serious about Feodore.
Feodore tilted his head. “I am afraid I cannot say the same.”
Lantash and Jolinar shared a look. “I hope you do not mind if we adjourn. My mate and I are tired and wish to rest before this evening.” It was a blatant lie but Malek appreciated their ability to detect a personal conversation and to adjourn without fuss. Louis and perhaps Samantha would not be comfortable with too many people prying into their personal business. Feodore seemed to understand exactly what was happening as well because he stood and escorted them to guest chambers before returning, looking slightly relieved not to have too large an audience.
“And that is through no fault but my own.” Malek spoke up the moment they were alone, with just Ocker as their silent witness. “A few hundred years ago, when I was within a female host, Misha I fell in love with Delek and we mated, or married if you prefer, through Tok’Ra law. We were very much in love, I cannot use any other words to describe our bond but about a century ago Delek had done something I thought I could never forgive. In fact, I had not forgiven him until recently when he confessed the truth to me. For almost a hundred years we stay parted, both of us too stubborn to talk. In Tok’Ra law a bond is officially broken after approximately a century and that is only if the two or more Tok’Ra haven’t sought the council out to officially break their bonding. It was coming up to a century when Louis and I joined. My kin thought me dead, which is also another reason for why a bond may be annulled. Delek did not declare our bond broken, so the council still consider us mated. If I was truly dead the bond would be officially broken at the hundred-year mark. But I returned within Louis, but because I did not acknowledge the bond it was not annulled or spoken of. Technically I could have easily declared it annulled there, being in a different and male host means I am not obligated to go back into the bond. However, I was too stubborn to even acknowledge it. Even keeping it from my host because of my childishness.”
“However, we finally talked very recently and Malek and I know we still care for each other passionately.” Delek input. “But I cannot bring anymore sadness into my lover’s heart. If he loves you and you bring him happiness then I cannot simply turn you away. So, I am here to officially ask if you would consider joining Malek and myself in our relationship. For us not to be a four, but a five.”
Feodore had leant back as they spoke, a minute frown creasing his forehead. “This is something really important to you. It is not just a joining of bodies but of heart and soul. The love of both hosts and symbiotes. I would gladly accept here and now, but I believe this is too important to rush into. You deserve more than my lust and basic love, you deserve my devotion and true desire to be a member of this relationship.” He sat up and faced Delek a serious expression upon his face. “Would you give me the pleasure of getting to know you?”
Delek bowed his head for a moment Malek thought he was nodding agreement but there was a subtle change in posture and Malek knew Sebastian was in control. “I will gladly get to know you Feodore.” He stated, startling Feodore who was surprised by the change. “Delek felt you would prefer to hear it from me, since you have not yet witness us changing from host to symbiote.” Sebastian continued. “I am Sebastian, host to Delek. It is a pleasure to meet you Feodore.”
“The pleasure is mine.” Malek grinned at the charming smile Feodore wore. Right then and there Malek knew things would be alright. Feodore had fallen head over hills for Sebastian’s more softly spoken demeanour and when Feodore loved he did so with all his heart.
“Something tells me I should make myself scarce.” Ocker stated. “Is there somewhere I can rest, preferably near the front entrance and overlooking your home?”
“My personal library is at the front of the building with a grand view of the entrance hall and a few adjoining rooms.” Feodore offered. “As for where you wish to sleep, I can only offer the bedroom nearest my dining area, it is a spare room I keep for my office when I am home but I am sure you can find a way to make it comfortable enough to sleep.”
“I have slept in far more awkward places, I can make do.” Ocker replied with a tilt of his head. He turned then to Malek and gave his friend and superior a smile. “I will see you later, Malek.”
Delek waited for Ocker to leave before turning to Malek. “Now that Ocker is gone, perhaps we can talk about how we want this to work.”
Malek tutted. “A relationship is not planned. It simply works or it doesn’t. You can’t schedule such things.” He scolded. “But perhaps for now you should spend time with Feodore while I snack on these delicious desserts?”
“You just want them all for yourself.” Delek answered. Malek grinned unrepentantly.
“How about both of you come and sit by me.” Feodore offered. “I have been imagining having you in my arms since you arrived on my world.”
“I see why you fell for him.” Sebastian stage whispered to Malek before rising to his feet. Malek smiled and followed suite, settling into Feodore’s left side as Sebastian settled on the man’s right.
“So, indulge my curiosity.” Feodore asked, large hands coming to rest on their shoulders as he tucked them firmly against his side. “Tell me about your people and more particularly your relationships.”
“There is very little to say that has not been said.” Sebastian answered. “You already know that for the Tok’Ra relationships do not centre around a pair, both the symbiote and host are included and there can be as many as six Symbiotes and hosts involved with each other. Though that is rare because hosts tend to prefer the two pair relationships. When mated it is until it is annulled by a new host or the mated pair or group seeking annulment with the council. If a member is missing for at least one hundred years they are presumed dead and the other bond-mate can seek new relationships if they so choose.”
“Species does not matter to us, Tok’Ra love humans just as much as we love each other.” Malek input. “And sometimes humans are changed by their environments so more often than not they are only as human as they appear. We still love them all equally.”
“One particular Tok’Ra has violet eyes and a unique biology that we’ve never come across before.” Delek explained. “But he is human enough to be a host.”
“And what about our potential relationship. I am no host.” Feodore asked.
“You don’t have to be a host to be loved by a Tok’Ra.” Malek answered. “But many who love a Tok’Ra choose to become a host later on. Though this is not an obligation.”
“It is not a distasteful idea either.” Feodore commented. Malek turned, startled. Feodore smirked. “Why wouldn’t I consider the idea when I watch you and Louis. I envy your bond and the love you share. It is very beautiful and an honour to watch such and intimate bond.”
“I admit that watching Louis with Malek is amazing. Louis has helped bring Malek out of his shell.” Delek answered. “Malek has always been a very stern, focused symbiote.”
“I witnessed, if be it briefly, his desire to get things done.” Feodore stated. “Very focused but I have to admit I have never seen the truly serious side of Malek.”
“And hopefully you will not see it for a while. Normally Malek is very focused when he is working on making sure our people are safe. He takes his tasks very seriously.” Delek continued.
“And you?”
“I am a councillor as well as Malek but I do not command a base.” Delek answered. “Which I find a relief, because if I had to endure the pressure Malek endures I would fail, without a doubt. For example, he has spent almost the entire time he’s returned home ensuring our alliance with the Tau’ri and enacting protocols to ensure the safety of our brethren.”
“A hard worker through and through, even when he is having fun.” Feodore complimented.
Malek chuckled in response, the sound muffled as he’d helped himself to a pastry while they spoke and had his mouth full. Neither of the men cared, too deep in conversation as they carefully worked out how they felt about each other. Louis on the other hand was laughing in amusement as he felt and watched Malek settle lethargically into Feodore while stuffing his mouth with desserts.
To think once upon a time, you would have stopped me having coffee. The host teased.
-Quiet you. – Malek answered with a laugh. -Besides I have more important things to worry about, like the fact my kin were worried about me. Delek would not speak so plainly if he hadn’t felt it was serious. –
You did not realise what was happening, no one blames you.
-I blame myself. It is my duty to worry about them, they should never need to worry about me. –
And if you think that doesn’t entitle them to worry about you then you are wrong. They’re your family. Louis scolded. Just as you worry about them, they worry about you and you are so focused on your work that you never noticed or chose not to notice.
-I know, I am in the wrong here, but I can’t help but think it is my duty to worry about them, not the other way around. –
And that is why you need a host like me, to kick you in your metaphorical backside.
-Then I am grateful fate paired me with you. –
“Such deep thoughts, brother. Care to tell me what has caused that whimsical smile.” Delek asked.
“Just thinking about how grateful I am to have what I have.” Malek answered simply, offering Delek one of his favourite snacks. Delek knew Malek well and knew his mate preferred this desert which is why he gifted Malek a gentle, loving smile as he helped himself to the smallest piece he could. Feodore watched with an amused smile. “But how about we turn to more enjoyable pass times? Such serious conversations and thoughts can wait, can they not? We have this play we could watch.”
Delek smiled. “Or we could stay here and enjoy one another’s company? What better way to know each other without interruption?”
“But Ocker might like to see the play and you know he would not leave my side.”
Delek nodded. “You are right of course. As much as I’d like to be selfish I cannot and will not interrupt your friendship with Ocker. We will go this evening but you owe me.”
-And Delek will ask for a lot when the time comes. But normally what he asks for is very easy to give and very enjoyable for us. – Malek thought. “We’ll see, Delek, we’ll see.” He said out loud.
Feodore laughed. “Something tells me we are going to have quite an enjoyable time should we choose to take this further.”
“Delek has always been the more… inventive one of us.” Malek confirmed with a smug smile. “And I have not once complained in all our years of bonding.” Delek chuckled at this, reaching across to clasp on of Malek’s hands in his. Malek smug smile turned to a genuine one as he stared into his mate’s eyes. “And I am certain, too, that should we take this further you too will not complain about Delek’s inventiveness.”
“I look forward to discovering both your talents and revealing my own. But for now, let us do as Malek says and turn to more relaxed activities. I suggest perusing my library. If you are anything like Malek you will enjoy knowledge and my library is one of the grander or my home town, second only to the town hall and library collection. Perhaps any questions you have not yet thought to ask or do not yet have answers for will be answered within those scrolls and tomes.”
Delek’s eyes did light up, ever so slightly and he nodded in gratitude. “Of course, I would love to visit your library. In return I will offer what knowledge I can.”
“Then I think the next few hours will be quite enjoyable.” Feodore answered.
Louis took control and smirked at the pair. “Well that sounds enjoyable to you but I think I’d like to do some training with Ocker. I have not quite mastered the Tok’Ra style of hand to hand fighting and I’d like the opportunity to practice.” He smirked at Delek when the other Tok’Ra gave him a knowing glance.
Feodore seemed to know what Louis was trying to do too because he smirked. “You’ll have to do so outside; my home has some precious valuables within.”
Louis chuckled. “Thank you.” He answered before turning and shouting. “Ocker.” The man appeared not a moment later looking concerned before he relaxed at seeing their smirks. Louis chuckled. “Fancy beating me to a pulp again?” He asked. Ocker grinned himself at this question and tilted his head in agreement. Louis laughed and turned back to his mate and would-be-mate. “I will see you three later.”
As always Ocker followed ever so slightly behind him, protecting his back even when there was no need. “I know what you are up to.” Ocker stated as they walked outside and found an ideal spot within which to practice. He removed his jacket and waited patiently for Louis to prepare himself. “You have never been so interested in training before.” He added as Louis took his position. “But I will not say no to the opportunity to train you.”
“And I will teach you some Tau’ri methods too.”
“You mean cheating.” Ocker teased.
Louis raised a brow, a smug smirk on his face. “You forget that my ‘cheating’ saved Malek’s life. Bow down to my greatness and prepare to be beaten.” Ocker laughed at the banter and lowered himself into a fighting stance.
-Why do people think I am the worst of us two? You are clearly the worst influence. – Malek teased.
They would never believe you. I am the innocent human. Louis retorted teasingly.
The fight commenced then, the teasing coming to an end as all turned to the serious matter of training and Malek could not hide the awe of his thoughts as Louis held his own against the much more experienced and skilled Ocker. Ocker won of course, many centuries of training meant that Ocker had the cunning and stamina needed to beat Louis’s much quicker and more instinctual fighting style. But unlike most humans Louis did not feel anger at defeat, instead he chose to learn. Each match Louis adapted, evading and deflecting moves that had defeated him before until Ocker had to change tactics and become slyer and faster in his attacks.
It was in one such match that Feodore and Delek appeared, their presence revealing just how much time had passed as well as the dimming of the natural light. Still Louis and Ocker did not pause, their movements almost too fast for humans to see but Feodore’s gasp revealed how much admiration the man had for their skill. The last fight must have lasted a good fifteen minutes, Louis on the defensive more often than not as Ocker struck time and time again, his jabs hard and unforgiving. Malek healed enough to keep Louis on his feet but no more than that as Louis was a man who preferred to endure the pain and learn from his mistakes, at least during training, and Malek would always heal him afterwards. By the end, even Ocker was panting and it was then that Ocker decided to end the match, a swift kick forcing Louis to the ground and a hand at Louis’s neck.
Louis chuckled, admitting defeat before allowing Ocker to pull him back to his feet. “Good round.” He complimented. “I still have much to learn.”
“And you have taught me much, my friend.” Ocker answered. “Few have the stamina to endure my training. I am quite impressed with you and I feel much more content knowing Malek has got such a strong and formidable host.”
Louis bowed his head and the compliment before clasping a hand to Ocker’s shoulder. “Let’s go get cleaned up and head to this play Feodore kept talking about.”
“Actually, I think I’d much prefer to stay home.” Feodore offered quietly, so quietly that Louis was more than able to pretend he didn’t have advanced Tok’Ra hearing and walk past ‘obliviously’. Even Ocker played along, though the slightest twitch of the other Tok’Ra’s lips gave away Ocker’s amusement.
They heard Feodore’s muttered complaints and Delek’s quiet laughter as they walked away but Louis managed to keep his own laughter in until he was far away enough not to be heard. Malek was pleased to hear Ocker laugh too, he loved to hear his old friend and arguably his most trusted brother laugh so openly. Louis sighed, finally breathing out the urge to laugh as they reached their destination.
Of course, Malek had to take control a moment later, Louis still a little to uncomfortable of being nude with other Tok’Ra. Humans were so self-conscious, so Malek bathed and dressed comfortably with his bodyguard and friend. If Ocker noticed the sudden change in control he did not say a word so Malek continued as if nothing had occurred, sharing a few moments of laughter as the pair reminisced on the way Feodore had looked so forlorn at not being able to touch Louis.
And if Feodore seemed a little too quiet as they regrouped no one said a word. Ocker excused himself to let Lantash and Jolinar know they were heading out. The two-emerged looking as immaculate as ever but Tok’Ra senses were highly attuned and every single one knew what the pair had been up to. The pair avoided the worst of the teasing by lagging behind as they left Feodore’s house, most likely having their own revenge as they watched and muttered about the awkward silence between Feodore and Malek.
They met Cosima and Victoria a short while later, both women eyeing the group with suspicious gazes because of their quietness. None of the men said a word about why there seemed to be an awkwardness about them and instead turned the conversation to the show. Malek knew enough to know what was coming so he instead focused on finding suitable seating. Ocker and Delek knew too, although only through Malek so they were eager to see the play for themselves. Cosima, Jolinar, Lantash and Victoria were the only ones clueless to the story behind the Greek’s survival. Which would make the big reveal all the funnier once the four of them learned about the hive. Malek could not wait for the next day when he’d take them to meet his new and extended family.
Paris was right, there was an actor who looked almost identical to him, he could have been a twin if it was not obvious that he was much smaller than his older brother and had a softer appearance. A submissive, perhaps? Paris had not said. Paris was not far from them, sat closer to the front so that his brother could see him. Theon was nearby, sat with and dwarfed by a much more powerful looking man, who seemed almost as big as Paris or Feodore. At times this man looked down at his mate, such a gentle expression on his face that Malek felt a tendril of jealousy. Yannis was nowhere to be seen.
Malek paused. He only knew these men for a short time and he was already looking for them in a crowd as if they were close friends or family. Though to be fair these men, these warriors, had been so kind Malek could not help but feel some affection for them.
Jolinar glanced around as she took her seat. “They have retained much of their original culture. It is fascinating to see such grand architecture that hasn’t been corrupted by Goa’uld interference.” She stated.
Malek glad to be distracted by his thoughts turned to her. “They were saved early on, if I remember correctly. They endured enough experimentation and enslavement to make them very different to their ancestors but retained enough of their humanity and freedom to survive well outside of Goa’uld rule. And they had help.”
“Who?” Lantash asked curiously.
“You’re about to see.” Delek answered.
“So Malek actually told you.” Lantash commented. Delek tilted his head in confirmation and Malek grinned at the accusing glare Lantash shot him. “Perhaps one day I will not be the last to know these things.”
“You forget, neither myself nor Jolinar or Victoria know what is happening either.” Cosima scolded.
Feodore chuckled. “So, none know what they are about to witness?”
“Ocker and Delek have an idea but no the others are clueless.” Malek confirmed.
Perhaps more would have been said but the music began indicating the beginning of the play and immediately the stadium was full of light and hearty music. Malek leaned into Delek and secretly smiled against the Tok’Ra’s shoulder as he felt a larger arm come to rest at their backs and a hand coming to rest at his shoulder.
The play began the same as last time, the smaller actors pretending to be their smaller, human ancestors and then acting out their abduction and enslavement. Hearty music turned to more sombre sounds as lights faded to dimmer colours. Then the shadows emerged, the smaller actors becoming the hive as the larger actors took the place of their smaller compatriots. The larger humans suddenly saw the shadows, performing the initial fear and then hope as these silhouettes guided them back into the light and to freedom. It was only then that Malek’s companions clapped eyes on the hive members. The actors’ outfits crafted to display the black skin, multiple arms and glowing eyes. They turned to him but he simply continued to watch avidly as the hive helped the humans settle on their new world and build a colony that would later grow into a grand civilisation of powerful god-like men.
“And so!” The narrator cried, his powerful voice easily reaching the furthest seats in the stadium. “In repayment for our freedom and for their continued protection we forever celebrate their existence and the aid they gave us when our people needed it the most!” He swirled on the stage and the actors, now gathered on stage bowed elaborately to their audience. “And now let us bring an end to this great night by continuing to celebrate our neighbours and friends. I will see some of you at Chaucey’s bar!” Laughter throughout the stadium were the audiences reply to this. The charismatic narrator gave one last bow and with a twirl of his robes he turned and vanished from the stage, his fellow actors following suite.
Malek had to admit that by the end he’d indulged in a little too much to drink already and the Greek’s beer was potent enough to get even a symbiote drunk. Fortunately for him both Jolinar and Lantash were well into their cups as well, although they had turned to more important things. Namely PDA. Samantha would be most embarrassed once she sobered up. Though his kin did not have too bad an idea and he did have one delicious mate already within his arms.
Delek made an awkward sound, between a cough and a laugh and manhandled Malek into his arms and stilled Malek’s teasing touches. “I think it is time for us to head off to wherever we are staying this night.”
Cosima eyed Lantash and Jolinar. “I suppose we will make sure we get them to safety. I presume they are coming with us, considering Malek’s interests at the moment.”
Malek laughed. “I am always interested.” He chided. “I just pleasantly drunk enough to not care about control or decorum.”
“Where is the real Malek, the one so reserved and shy?” Kimani asked teasingly, an amused smile on his face. Malek eyed his bodyguard with confusion, when had Ocker given up control to his host? Kimani laughed heartedly, easily reading Malek’s expression correctly.
Admittedly Malek could be a little bit more mature but he was enjoying the chance to be more flirtatious and childish. Besides what better way to see if Feodore and Delek would be compatible than getting them both interested and seeing if they’d work together. Judging by their expressions, they were seriously considering it which was both good news and bad news. Good news because it was what he wanted and promised a night of pleasure, bad news because if Feodore was anything like Delek then he was in for a night of pleasurable torture. Of course, if Feodore was anything like Delek, then Delek would get a taste of his own medicine. And the tensing of Delek’s hands suggested that his mate would not be able to resist.
Of course, Kimani knew exactly what Malek was thinking and gave the symbiote a secretive smile as he trailed behind them, forever at Malek’s back for protection. Malek smirked at Kimani the moment he knew no one was looking before he turned to look at Delek, trying to make an expression of adoration, it seemed to work if the breath Delek released was any indication.
“I know what you’re doing, my love.” Delek whispered. Malek sniggered, perhaps Delek wasn’t so oblivious after all. “And if you really want to make Feodore eager, then let’s wait until we have a little privacy.” A stern glare was all that was needed to send Lantash, Jolinar, Cosima and Victoria away leaving Malek alone with Ocker, Delek and Feodore.
Malek pouted. “Why don’t they obey me as quickly as that?”
Delek laughed. “Because you are too soft-hearted to our kin.” He stated. “Ocker, I suggest you stay away from us this evening. Malek and I wish to indulge in a little intimacy. Feodore, you are more than welcome to join us.”
-A few needy expressions and I have Delek eating out of the palm of my hand. – Malek thought.
Louis laughed. Funny, from this side of the looking glass it looks like you are the one eating out of Delek’s hands.
Malek could not deny this, especially not when Delek was manhandling him so expertly into Feodore’s house and to the nearest private chamber. One thing Malek was pleased about was that Feodore followed, perhaps this time instead of gentleness the Greek would realise Malek enjoyed a little bit of dominance and that as a Tok’Ra he could take more force than a normal human. Not that Malek had not loved the gentleness with which Feodore had touched him before. In fact, thinking on it Malek liked the idea of Feodore being the gentle giant, having him working with the more dominant Delek would be a dream come true. Hot and cold, alpha male and gentle giant both working to one goal, bringing him pleasure. He could not wait.
And afterwards, when the pair were worn down he’d show them his own unique style of dominance. Delek was all about strength, Feodore was all about touch, but Malek was all about control. He’d make sure tonight was a learning experience for them all.
