Wow! This is your first foray into smut? Awesome first time (pun intended) for Grissom and Sara and for you as well. The detail is amazing. He remembered that she's a vegetarian. Setting it up like they are already dating to overcome those "first date" awkward moments... brilliant.
I love this line: "The night was long any way, and they’d already conquered it." Yes, conquer it they did.
