This was the most disturbing story I have ever read. That being said, you are a very good writer; very descriptive. I enjoyed your writing, just not your words. Anyway, I did find it hard to believe that Doug wouldn't get the phone company to trace the call from Tom's captors, why he didn't follow them once he was able to see Tom, etc. I can't see this happening in real life. Also, millions of people enjoying watching someone being tortured over and over again. That certainly doesn't say a lot for our species.
Anyway, your writing was very good, I just was very upset with the subject matter.
