I really like the way you've started this off! I could certainly feel her fear as she was being chased. You captured that scene very well.

Your description of Derek was also very well done. The intrigue is beginning - the stirrings are there - but I like that this is going to have a considerable amount of plot to it.

I am curious as to the choice of the word "foe" to describe Argent's relationship with Brooklyn. Do you mean simply "rival", or is there something more there?

Brooklyn is being very bold, and somewhat incautious, in her invitation to Derek. Even with the (somewhat vague) threat to his person, she is inviting a werewolf that she doesn't know to spend the night with her in a closed room. She hasn't seen him in action, and though she's treating him as a beta, there's no history between them to allow for such a level of trust of a creature she hunts. Despite the fact that he saved her from the alpha, there's still an incredible power - and darkness - in his being of which she would be aware. I'm only mentioning it because it seems as though you might be rushing a bit.

This is noticeable in the diner breakfast scene as well. A brief conversation over drinks and a short encounter in his burned-out foyer would not lend her quite so much insight into his personality. The hunted are always cautious of the hunter, especially when they have their guns ready but not aimed. She should expect that he wouldn't be open with her, but I would not credit her with having quite so much insight into his character at this point.

    (typo: rouse should be ruse)

This is an interesting direction you're taking this! I'm intrigued, and quite interested in reading more!

Thank you for sharing, and I hope you do intend to continue this piece. Happy writing!
