Author's Notes

Part One

Jack O'Neill was walking down the hall on the way to Samantha Carter's lab
when someone called him.
"Jack! Wait up!"
Jack recognized that voice. It was the voice of a man that he despised more
than the Goa'uld, the man who was the cause of Daniel having to
ascend. That
man was Jonas Quinn.
"Shut up! Don't ever call me 'Jack'! You will address me as Colonel
O'Neill!"
Jack turned back around and started to walk away. Jonas put his hand on
Jack's shoulder. In a flash Jack on Jonas like a fly on rye. He grabbed him by
the collar of his shirt and started punching him in the face. He pushed Jonas
down and sat on him and punched him.
"You have your nerve! How dare you hang around here! Listen Jonas and listen
good. I don't like you! I don't want you on my team! "
Jack starteckincking Jonas. Jonas was screaming. Jack grabbed a gun from a
passing SF. He heard a noise behind him. He turned and saw six SF's and General
Hammond standing there. Jack cocked the Glock and pointed it a Jonas' face.
"Do you have any idea what it is like to be alone? Do you know what it is
like to lose your lover because of some stupid, self-centered, egotistical fool?
You don't deserve to live! Well now it's pay back time! Now what are your last
words?"
"Please, Jack!"
"I thought I told you not to call me Jack?"
"Give me the gun, son."
"No! He has no idea what it is like to not have your soul mate to snuggle up
to on a cold night!"
"Jack, if you kill him, you'll be no better than he is. Come on, give me the
gun, son."
Sobbing Jack handed over the gun.
Jack sat in General Hammond's office.
"Jack, what happened?"
"Well, sir, I was on my way to Carter's lab when Jonas called me. He was
being insubordinate. I told him to address me as Colonel O'Neill and started to
walk away. Then, he touched me. I lost it."
"Okay this is what I'm gonna do. I want you to take some time off. Take a
week or two off. Okay?"
"Okay."
re hre he left he wrote a note to Sam.

To All SGC Personnel-
The General has given me two weeks off. I am sorry. I can't live without
Daniel. Please, do not blame yourselves for
this. It is not your fault. If
anyone is to blame it is Jonas. Thank you guys for being so supportive of Me and
Danny's relationship.
Thank you for all your friendships. I can't go on
without Danny. Jonas, I hope you know that you are responsible for the deaths of

two men. Teal'c, take care of Carter.
Jack O'Neill

He stuck the note under the door of Sam's lab.
Part Two

Jack sat on the bed with his 9 mm in his hand. He missed Daniel. Not only had
Daniel been his lover, but he was also his best friend and his better half. He
had left a note:

To All SGC Personnel-
I am sorry to do this. I can't live without Danny. Without Daniel my life has
no meaning. I blame Jonas Quinn for this.
It is his fault. I should put a
bullet in his head, but I won't. George, thanks for being there for me. Sam,
Teal'c, Janet, thanks
for being there for mece ace again, I am sorry for
doing this.

Meanwhile...
"Oma, I have to go back. I can't let Jack do this. How do I get back?"
"Daniel look deep inside and what you seek you will find."
Meanwhile at the SGC...
Sam was on her way to get some lunch when she saw a piece of paper. She
picked it up and read it. As she read it she became frantic. She called the
General's office and told him what she had found.
"General, is Colonel O'Neill still in your office?"
"No. He left twenty minutes ago. Why is there something wrong?"
"Yes, he's gonna kill himself. He left a note under my door."
"You stop and get Teal'c and be heading over to his house. I'll get Janet
and we'll be right over."
Sam grabbed her keys and cell phone and headed to get Teal'c. They met her
and Teal'c at Jack's house.
Part Three

They knocked, but didn't get any response. She used her key to unlock
d
door. They heard music playing.

Sam, Janet, George, and Teal'c went into the bedroom and found Jack sitting
on the bed holding his gun. He was rocking and crying. There was music playing.

When he heard them he looked up.
"What are you doing here? Go away!"
"Give me the gun , son," said George.
"No!"
"Jack, why are you doing this?" asked Janet.
"When I lost Danny, I lost my significant other! It was all Jonas' fault!"
"O'Neill, would DanielJackson want you to do this?" asked Teal'c.
"No! He loved me! I loved him!"
While Jack was caught off guard, Sam kicked the gun of of his hand. Teal'c
picked up the gun. Janet tore up the note. George grabbed Jack and pulled him
into a hug.
"No! Don't hug me!"
George's response was to hug him tighter. Jack started sobbing . Sam, Janet,
and Teal'c came over and did a group hug. Jack's sobs got louder. There was a
glowing on the other side of the room. They all turned. Standing where the
glowing was was Daniel! George let go of Jack. Daniel hurriedly hugged Sam,
George, Janet, and Teal'c. Jack had sat on the floor still sobbing with his arms
folded on his knees. His head was on his arms. He was sobbing hard and loud.
Daniel picked up Jack and sat him on the bed. He then sat on the bed and sat
Jack on his lap. He started rocking him and making soothing sounds. Sam checked
the gun. It wasn't loaded! Sam, George, and Teal'c went into the living room.
Janet stayed.
"Janet, could you give us some privacy please?"
"Sure, but a psychological evaluation needs to be done on him. He tried to
commit suicide, Daniel."
"The gun was empty, Janet. I took the bullets out when I saw him writing the
note."
Janet left and went into the living room where George, Sam, and Teal'c were.
"Jack, it's okay. I'm back. Let it out. Let it all out. I love you."
"D-D-Danny, I l-l-love y-y-you, t-t-too."
Jack was about to say something else when Daniel said, "Shh. I know you love
me Jack. Just cry. You'll feel better." He pd kid kisses on Jack's head. Jack
wrapped his arms around Daniel and sobbed. Soon Jack had cried himself to sleep.
He placed Jack on his stomach on the bed. He went into the living room.
"Welcome back, son."
"Welcome back, Daniel."
"Welcome back, sugar."
"Welcome back, DanielJackson."
"Thanks guys. It's good to be back."
"How is Jack, Daniel?"
"He's asleep. He cried himself to sleep. Janet, could you do the
psychological evaluation on him? He's not gonna want Mac the Quack to do it."
"I can."
"When would it be a good time?"
"As soon as he wakes up."
Part Four

"Daniel, do you know where the ammo for this gun is?"
"Yeah. When I saw him writing that note I took the bullets and put them
somewhere where he wouldn't get..."
Daniel was cut off by a scream coming from the bedroom. Daniel ran in and
gathered Jack in his arms.
"Shhh, Jack, it's okay. It's just a bad dream."
He placed kisses on Jack's face. Jack settled down. He snuggled closer to
Daniel. It was decided that George, Sam, and Teal'c would go home and Janet
would stay in the guest room. Daniel placed Jack on the bed and got into bed. He
pulled Jack into his arms and put the cover on them. Jack slept through the
night without any nightmares.
The next morning after Jack, Daniel, and Janet had eaten breakfast Janet did
the psych evaluation on Jack and it was determined that Jack was suffering from
post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and depression, and that the cause of his
reaction earlier that day was when Jonas touched Jack. She prescribed him some
antidepressants. Janet left Jack in Daniel's care and went back to the SGC.
Part Five

Janet, Sam, Teal'c, and George sat in the briefing room. "So, Doctor Fraiser,
have you found out what is wrong with Colonel O'Neill?" asked General Hammond.
"Yes, sir, I have. He is suffering from post traumatic stress disorder, or
PTSD and depression. The event that triggered his reaction with Jonas was when
Jonas touched him. The depression was what led to his decision to commit
suicide. Thank goodness Sam found that note in time. I prescribed him some
antidepressants. Sir, I suggest that you give him a vacation."
"Any other suggestions?" asked George.
"Sir, I suggest that Daniel be assigned to SG-1 again," said Sam.
"I suggest that Jonas Quinn be...abalienated to another team. He is the
determinant of O'Neill's problems. I do not wish to work with Jonas Quinn any
longer," said Teal'c.
"As of this moment, Colonel O'Neill is on vacation, SG-1 is on stand down,
Doctor Jackson is back on SG-1, and Jonas Quinn is reassigned to another tea SG- SG-1, and Doctor Fraiser, you are dismissed."
Teal'c, Janet, and Sam left. George called Jack and Daniel's place.
Part Six

Jack had fallen asleep after Janet left. The phone started ringing. Daniel
answered the phone.
"Hello. O'Neill-Jackson residence."
"Hello, Doctor Jackson."
"Oh, General Hammond, hi! How are you doing?"
"Fine, Doctor Jackson. How are you and Jack doing?"
"I'm fine. So is Jack."
"Good. I called to teou tou that: Jack is on vacation, SG-1 is on stand
down, you are back on SG-1, and Jonas Quinn is assigned to another team."
"That's great, General! Thanks!"
"Don't mention it."
"How long?"
"Take all the time you guys need."
"Okay."
"Bye, Daniel."
"Bye, General Hammond."
Part Seven

Jack and Daniel decided to go to Jack's cabin in Minnesota. They had a
romantic, candlelight dinner wine. After they ate they sat in front of the fire
place. They sat in front of the fire place kissing, holding each other, and
talking. There was music playing. Jack had made a private CD dedicated to
Daniel.

Jack wrapped his hand around Jack's neck and pulled him into a kiss. Jack
slid his arm around Daniel's shoulders to draw him closer. Like a lion on prey
their passion was renewed. Daniel wanted Jack. Their hands were tangling through
each other's hair. Their kisses deepened. They began to tug frantically at each
other's clothes.
