Disclaimer: I do not own The Power Rangers, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Sequel to ‘Red Fire’, the story of how Wes and Eric got together is in that.
Wes and Eric belong to Disney/Saban, I am using them without permission, but haven't a chance of making money from this. The song I've sort of quoted is Strangers in the Night by Chs Sis Singleton and Bert Kaempfert.
Reviews and ratings would be appreciated, let me know what you think.
He was instantly recognizable as the headlights picked him out of the shadows, leaning against the hood of his old car, watching as Wes pulled into the restaurant parking lot. His body seemed to tighten slightly with a heightened alertness, a subtle tension, adding an undercurrent of coiled power to graceful and deceptively relaxed lines. Only his head really moved, turning as Wes parked, turned off the ignition, and opened his door. Then he pushed away from his car, and they met halfway.
Wes just smifor for a moment, enjoying the sight of dark, Asian eyes staring back, a slight smile returned for his, the square, hard face that had become such an important part of his life softened now by the dim lighting. Finally, he was the first to speak.
“Welcome back, Eric.”
“Good to see you, too.”
“Hope you haven’t been waiting long.”
“Nah. You’re right on time.”
“Well... let’s go in. You must be hungry.”
“Yeah, I’m hungry.” Those eyes raoverover him from head to toe, almost like a physical caress.
“Me, too...” He stepped forward, his hand coming up, reaching to pull Eric close -- but the other man stepped back, fingers closing around Wes’s wrist, keeping him away.
“Not here. Never know who’s watching.”
“I guesu’reu’re right. Sorry.”
“Don’t be sorry.” Eric’s hand touched his arm for just a moment, the gesture seemingly casual to any observer, but carrying both reassurance and warmth.
They found a boott fat far from the door, with no one else nearby. The waitress took up a few minutes, giving them menus and a smile, asking what they wanted to drink. As she walked away Wes leaned forward, planting his elbows on the stained tabletop.
“How was your trip?”
Erhrughrugged. “Long. Boring.”
“Did you learn much?”
“Making sure Bio-Lab got its money’s worth?” Eric had been gone on a trip to the East Coast, taking a comprehensive course in criminal psychology, part of the regular training both he and Wes were expected to take as commanders of the Silver Guardians.
“Just asking. You’re so paranoid.” Wes returned Eric’s quick smile.
“Yeah, paranoid’s my middle name.”
“You know something? I don’t even know what your middle name is.”
“Don’t have one. My folks were too cheap to give me one.”
“You’re a funny guy.”
“I try.” There was a pause as the waitress returned with their drinks. “How’s everything been at work? Managed to live without me for three weeks?” His brows lifted with a more personal meaning.
“Just barely,” Wes said with a smile. “I’ve kept you up to date.” They had spoken on the phone almost every night. About business, mostly, you never knew who might be listening, too, according to Eric. Paranoid wasn’t too far from the truth about him. On the other hand, he had spent his life hiding what he was. Something Wes was just starting to find out about. “Nothing much else new,” he went on.
“How’s your father?”
“He’s fine.” Wes’s father was Alan Collins, the owner and CEO of Bio-Lab, and the man who signed both their paychecks. “Said he wants to see you when you get in tomorrow. Nothing urgent, just wants to know how it went.”
“How are you?” Eric asked, his eyes running over Wes again, this time with less heat and more concern. “I hated to take off and leave you more work when you’re still recovering.”
“greagreat. Been working out again for two weeks now. Didn’t realize how out of shape I’d gotten.”
“You look okay to me.” Just a spark in Eric’s eyes this time.
“Thanks. Anyway, I’m completely recovered. Ready for anything.” He grinned, raising his own eyebrows.
EricEric only grinned back, as the waitress stopped at their table to take their order. It had been two months now since Wes had been so badly injured in a fight with a gang of thieves in a Bio-Lab warehouse. He had almost died. But all the pain, the fear, the time in the hospital, even the hours they had both spent locked inside a room in danger of their lives, had been worth it. Without that ordeal he might never have realized the truth about himself and his feelings for Eric, at least not in time. Without it, they might not be sitting here together now.
Eric’s voice dropped as the waitress moved away. “How late can you stay?” he asked softly.
“I told Dad we’d probably hang out for a while. And we might have a couple of beers or whatever. And I might just crash at your place.”
Another spark as Eric’s eyes met his. “All night?”
“If you don’t mind.”
“No.” A slow smile. “I don’t mind at all.”
Wes followed Eric’s car, taking care not to get too far behind. Not that he needed guidance; he knew the way by heart, although he’d only been there a few times. Just a few quick visits before everything had changed between them. And after... only four times in the two weeks before Eric’s trip, only four too-brief times, so that his father wouldn’t become suspicious. Four times in Eric’s small bedroom, in his bed, with Wes still healing from his injuries and unabo doo do much that didn’t involve lying flat on his back... but it had been the best hours of his life. So far.
Despite the length of time they had been friends, it was early in their romantic relationship. It had been difficult being separated for three weeks, at a time when they still couldn’t keep their hands off each other. But now -- eagerness, impatience, nervous anticipation, all of it intensifying, the closer they got...
Eric’s car slowed and pulled over, stopping in front of a small house set back in the trees in a respectable but less desirable area of Silver Hills. Wes parked behind him as Eric got out and locked his car, and stood waiting at the foot of the walkway leading to his door.
They walked together in silence through the shadows cast by a full moon overhead, up the steps to the porch, Wes standing back as Eric unlocked the door, then following him through. There was a rattle of keys as Eric closed and locked the door, and then turned around, his eyes glittering momentarily in the light from a streetlamp shining through the front windows. They stared at each other in the semi-darkness. Wes took a step closer.
And then he was suddenly moving forward, hearing a grunt of surprise as he pushed Eric against the door, pressing their bodies together; they fit so well, face to face, chest to chest, hip to hip, thigh to thigh; seeking every inch of contact he could. A flush of desire flooded him; the solidity of Eric’s body, the way his breathing suddenly caught and deepened, the smell of his skin as Wes leaned his head to kiss him gently on the side of the neck, and then not so gently, sucking and biting just hard enough to provoke a low moan.
His hands found Eric’s as they came up, pushing them back, pinning him to the door. Wes lifted his head, their lips brushing together, then moving apart, eyes locking for a moment, seeing an answering passion even asbegabegan to feel the hard pressure of both their bodies reacting and pressed against it... They kissedftlyftly at first, then almost violently, teeth bumping, his tongue plunging in, Eric’s sliding over it and then thrusting back.
He leaned back a little and let go, fumbling with Eric’s shirt for a moment before giving it up and starting to work on his belt buckle. It took entirely too long to get it undone... and then to unzip him... Wes slid down to his knees, tugging at jeans and underwear.
“Bedroom...” Eric’s voice said hoarsely above him.
“Can’t wait...” Impatiently, he pulled harder, feeling the clothes catch on something.
“Ow,” Eric commented.
“Sorry. Wouldn’t want to damage anything.” Finally the pants were out of the way, and the briefs after them. He looked, running the fingers of one hand over Eric’s hip and then touching him, taking the base in his hand, sliding up to the head as it became harder and larger in his grip, as always fascinated by the texture of it, the slight looseness of the skin, no different from himself, ly, ly, and yet somehow much more exciting.
He heard a quick intake of breath from above as he leaned in and pulled Eric into his mouth, abandoning any idea of restraint as a surge of desire made his head swim. His own pants had become much too tight -- Wes pulled back, then went forward again, feeling Eric thrust into his mouth to meet his movement.
Hands touched his head, fingers combing through his hair, clutching at him as another thrust almost made him gag, then letting go. “Sorry,” Eric muttered.
Wes didn’t bother trying to answer, only worked at taking the shaft in his mouth deeper. They had tried this -- only a couple of times -- but he hadn’t been able to move much before and Eric had been afraid of hurting him -- felt so good now, so hot, maybe he wasn’t very good at it, it it didn’t seem to matter. He went faster, trying to do the same things Eric had done to him, using his tongue, faster still.
Eric’s breathing had deepened and sped up to match, he thrust harder again, then pulled back and gasped abruptly, “Wes -- I’m gonna come...”
Wes knew it was meant as a warning -- but he wanted it, all of it. He moved in again, his hand stroking along with his lips... Eric grunted softly and shuddered; Wes could feel it in his mouth, and he could taste it, slightly bitter, a little unpleasant at first, but so exciting... He kept moving for a few more seconds until Eric sagged against the door.
Climbing back to his feet, Wes hugged Eric, pressed aga him him, kissed his cheek, ran his hands over shoulders and arms, giving in to urgency as he reached down to pull their bodies together, rubbing. Eric raised his head, finding Wes’s lips, tongues slowly caressing each other.
“Your turn now...” Eric’s arms came up, his hands grasping Wes’s shoulders, turning him, and their positions were reversed; his own back to the wall with Eric grinning in the dim light, pushagaiagainst him hard, kissing him again, hands under his shirt to tweak his nipples briefly, then falling to unfasten his pants. Dark eyes watched Wes’s face as he reacted to the fingers reaching inside, stroking...
Seconds later, Wes was gasping as Eric sank to his knees, one hand gently touching, then the other closing around him. It began to move, stroking up to the tip, pausing to feel the contours, then back down, then up again. Wes inhaled sharply and closed his eyes as Eric leaned forward, his hand on the downstroke followed by his mouth, so warm and wet, taking him in deeply and holding, the tongue sliding over him, exploring. With excruciating slowness, mouth and hand moved back up as Wes groaned and involuntarily began to move his hips, trying to hold back, but he was already too far gone.
Eric was prolonging it, releasing Wes and bending to lick him, tongue teasing as it circled and probed, then lips sliding slowly down over him again, along with one hand. Back out -- in -- speeding up now, the strokes becoming faster and shallower as Wes’s mind began to blank into a haze and he fought the impulse to thrust down his partner’s throat.
It was happening -- Wes groaned, cried out, thrust hard, grabbing Eric’s head without fully realizing it, and felt the explosion rip through him, like waves of electricity up and down his spine; closing his eyes, head back, fingers clenching and toes curling.
He was still panting as Eric stood up and took him in his arms. They leaned on each other for a few moments. Finally Wes stirred, and raised his head, smiling. “I’ve been waiting three weeks for that,” he said.
“That?” Eric said with a grin. “That was just for starters...” He turned and headed for the bedroom, peeling his shirt off as he went.
“Strangers in the night, two lonely people, we were strangers in the night, up til the moment when we said our first hello...”
“What the hell are you doing?”
“Singing. Little did we know... Love was just a glance away, a warm embracing dance away...”
“You call that singing?”
“Yeah. Strangers in the night, exchanging glances, wondering in the night, what were the chances...”
“Considering we’re in bed naked, I’d say your chances are good.”
“Strangers in the night, and I forgot the words...”
“I see I need to give you something better to do with your mouth.”
Wes waved airily. “Been there, done that.”
Eric laughed. They were in bed, as he had said, and naked, only a sheet pulled over them, the heat between their bodies providing plenty of warmth. Wes rolled on his side, and trailed light fingers over Eric’s smooth, broad chest, and down over his stomach, just low enough to tease. “Our first whole night together,” he said.
“Yeah. Nice.”
“What time do you have to get up?”
“About eight, I guess. You?”
“I’ll have to go home first to change clothes...” Wes frowned. “I hate this.”
“What?”
“Sneaking around like this. Never touching each other in public. Lying to Dad. Pretending all the time.”
“It’s just a fact of life for us, Wes. Neither of us is in a position to come out.”
“I’ll have to tell Dad, sooner oter.ter. Don’t want him finding out from someone else.”
Eric sighed. “Great. And he’ll also find out I’m the guy his kid’s jumping in bed with. He’ll never look at me the same again.”
Wes frowned. “He’s not like that. He wouldn’t treat you any differently.”
“Maybe. But no matter how liberal or open-minded he is, it’s different when it’s family. When it’s your son.” Eric shifted a little to look in his face. “I like your father. Don’t want him to -- to think bad about me.”
“Shit. I guess I’m a real complication in your life.”
“Yeah.” Eric looked at him solemnly for a moment, before he smiled and raised a hand to stroke Wes’s cheek lightly. “But I can live with that kind of complication.”
Wes smiled back. “Attitudes are changing, you know. Even if people found out, maybe it wouldn’t be so bad.”
“Are you kidding?” There was a trace of disgust in Eric’s expression now. “Just take the Guardians. A pretty macho bunch oys. ys. Wanna bet what they’d do if they find out their commanders are a couple of faggots?”
Wes grimaced. “I can’t believe the guys we work with would say something that disgusting about us.”
“I like most of them, too. They’re good guys. Maybe they wouldn’t say it out loud, but that’s exactly what they’d be thinking; some of them, anyway.”
“Most of them could handle it. Things have changed, there’s gays on TV shows now, there’s a lot more acceptance.”
“Is that why you tried so hard to be straight for so long? And -- look at the way kids nowadays say ‘gay’ as an insult, look how many people still say we’re sinful, or disgusting, or sick. Maybe it’s not as obvious, but a lot of people hate us, Wes. Just as much as ever.”
“I think you’re wrong.”
“You’re an optimist. Get reale cae careful. I don’t want to see you get hurt because of me.”
“I still say you’re exaggerating. And it wouldn’t be because of you. You didn’t make me gay.”
“But I confronted you with it. Made you see it.”
“It would have happened sooner or later, I guess. But I’m glad it happened with you. Even if you are paranoid.”
“I’m glad too.” Eric leaned forward, eyes closing as he kissed Wes, a hand on his shoulder pulling them close.
“Either way, I’ll have to tell Dad,” Wes murmured. “I can’t hide it from him forever.”
Eric frowned slightly. “Well --’t r’t rush into anything. Think about it f.” .”
“Okay.” Wes kissed him again. “But I’m not going to think about it right now...”
The kiss deepened, tongues on a leisurely exploration, arms pulling each other closer. Wes ran his fingers over Eric's chest, up over his shoulder to trace out deltoids, then biceps, flexing under his touch. Down the long muscles of the back, the bumps of his spine, leading to the curve of buttocks... It felt so good, nothbetwbetween them, just warm skin...
Wes began to rock his hips, feeling himself becoming aroused again quickly. Their encounter in the hallway had only taken the edge off -- he was ready for more -- and so was Eric, he could feel hardness pressing into his stomach, and slipped a hand down over it.
Wes felt Eric’s lips move down, tilted his head back to let them run over his throat and up to his shoulder. Fingers were stroking him, bringing him fully erect, gliding expertly up and down as Eric’s mouth returned to his. Then they slowed, and Eric had raised his head, and was looking into his face, dark eyes intent. “Wes,” he said softly, “I really want you...”
“You’ve got me.”
“You know what I mean, don’t you?”
“Yeah...” Wes had known they would do this as soon as he was recovered, had even looked forward to it. If anything, he was surprised that Eric was being so hesitant. But he had turned out to be a more considerate lover than expected, patient and understanding of Wes’s inexperience, in sharp contrast to the cool indifference and occasional hostility that were all he let most people see. It was another side of him, a softer side... maybe ‘softer’ wasn’t the right word... Wes almost smiled at the unintentional pun. He knew he wanted this, but... “Will it hurt?” he asked.
“Depends. If you’re relaxed, it won’t hurt much, maybe not at all. It should feel good. If you’re tense... I’top top anytime you want.”
“What should I do?”
Eric leaned in to kiss him again before saying, “Just roll over. Easiest that way, the first time.”
“Okay.” Wes rolled onto his stomach obediently, heart fluttering nervously as Eric pressed his legs apart and knelt between them, his hands caressing and massaging Wes’s back until he felt his muscles start to loosen, then bending to kiss his shoulders and the back of his neck.
“Just relax. Trust me,” Eric breathed, running his tongue around the edge of his ear, then kneeling up again, fingers trailing down and then lifting. Then Wes heard a tearing sound and turned his head. “Condom,” Eric said above him.
“We’ve both been tested...”
“Better to just use it. I’m paranoid, remember? And you never know.”
A moment later Eric lowered himself on top again, his fingers probing first, then something else pressing for entrance, feeling slippery and very large... Wes took a deep breath and tried to relax, feeling a stretching sensation first, slight pain, pressure as Eric moved back and forth slowly and gently in short strokes, workhis his way deeper. It took a while -- he felt discomfort, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as he had feared -- and Eric was kissing his neck again, and starting to breathe harder, his hands closing tight on Wes’s shoulders, the weight of his body pressing down...
Then he realized it was all the way in -- a full feeling, not bad, a little strange -- Eric pulled back, changed his angle a little and pressed in again, deeply, and Wes felt something inside, an intense pang of pleasure, unexpected enough to make him gasp.
“Are you okay?”
“Yeah... that felt good...”
Eric didn’t answer, just began to move again, a little harder and faster, his breathing ragged now. It went on, that jolt of feeling each time, as Wes began to push back to meet him. His erection had faded at first; now it was back, pressing into the bedsheets with each thrust; the two sensations were quickly bringing him to the edge...
An arm went around him, Eric’s hand pressing under his hips... finding and grasping him as he lifted slightly... a few strokes was all it took, and Wes convulsed with a muffled cry, every muscle contracting, his body bucking under the weight and heat of Eric’s... He was still gasping when Eric groaned, stiffened, and pushed in harder, sharply, fingers digging into Wes’s shoulder, breath hot on his neck.
They stayed locked together until they both were breathing normally, until Eric pressed a kiss onto the side of Wes’s jaw and then raised his head, lifted up and rolled off. Soon they were lying together under the sheet again, warm, pleasantly tired, Wes draping an arm over Eric’s chest as they comfortably started to drift in the direction of sleep.
“How’s that for a homecoming?” he asked drowsily.
“I’ll have to go away more often.”
