This song-fic was inspired by a love song that I recently heard on youtube.
I already thought about a video that I could do with as she describes quite well what Sara has always felt for Gil ...
Shahines.
Summary :
For Sara, her meeting with her stepmother seemed to have turned into a fiasco. While relaxing in her bath a few hours later, she listens to a song that describes perfectly by which galleys Grissom and she are passed before finally marry and live happily as they are today ... Post-"The Two Mrs.. Grissoms. "
Sara came home a few hours after have been taken away by Jim, following the incident which took place at the end of the evening gala held at the School for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing where her stepmother Betty Grissom works.
Indeed, a car bomb had exploded outside the building from where she went out just at that moment, killing the headmaster on the spot.
Fortunately, she wasn't injured but it could have happen.
But that wasn't her biggest concern for now.
Her first encounter with her step-mother seemed to have been a total fiasco and the absence of Gil tonight where it was originally intended that he be hadn't fixed her problem.
Worse was to have also met his ex, who did not hesitate a second to show her that she has had an intimate relationship with her husband by the past.
After locking her door, she dropped her keys and her purse on the console of the front entrance to earn her room where she quickly began to undress to go take a shower before going to bed.
She turned on the water in the bathtub, having opted for a good relaxing bath then went to get her I-pod to listen to some music.
She then settled comfortably in hot water after putting the little device on and then closed her eyes and relaxed.
The first song played was one of her favorites of the moment.
She had heard it on the radio a few weeks after her return to Vegas, when she went to the lab, and she liked it so much to the point that she has ended up to download it on her I-pod and listened often in the evening before falling asleep.
It reminded her all these years she had spent in wanting to have an love affair with Gil and what they had benefited from being together today, despite the distance that separated them.

Gil and Sara were lonely hearts before their meeting.
Their common point: they were married to their work.
People say I'm crazy and that I am blind

Gil believed firmly that Sara wasn't made for him.
He was remained so long blind until the evening where Sara was assaulted by Adam Trent.
That night, he finally realized what he was losing by continuing to keep her away from him.

Sara as Gil had their respective histories, with their good and bad memories.
If Sara had a difficult childhood with an alcoholic father and a murderer mother, Gil had always lived in a world apart because of his mother's deafness and premature death of his father when he was nine years old, which had made of him what he was when they met in the conference in San Francisco.
Although they had spent several years to seek each other without manage to find a fertile ground for a more friendly relationship, it didn't pass a single day where they didn't think to each other.

Oh God alone knew how Gil and Sara were in love with all their heart, their whole soul and with all their being!
Gil was looking for someone who deem nobody and Sara was exactly this person.
So when she learned about his former girlfriends, although she was disappointed, she didn't let herself to win by her concerns about them and said nothing.
What was the most important today was this love and this passion for science that they shared since over ten years.

Gil and Sara had always known they were meant for each other, despite the many obstacles they had faced together or each on their side.
Even the ocean that separated them at this moment couldn't have reason of their love.

Ultimately, no matter what happened tonight between Sara and her stepmother.
It was just a first contact, and she suspected well that it wouldn't work the first time.
Over time, Betty would end by doing herself with the idea that she and her beloved son had their own conception of marriage and,she was convinced,everything would eventually return to normal.
I've tried to hide it so that no one knows
But I guess it shows

Given the reaction of Betty and Julia during their interview, Sara had vainly sought to hide her emotions.
But in hindsight, she realized she had forgotten how deafness reinforced the other senses and that there was no doubt that her stepmother and Julia had probably seen her discomfort.
She was afraid that it affected the special relationship established between Gil and Betty thereafter, even though she knew very well that this would never happen.
Inspired by the music and relaxed, she fell asleep in her bath.
