Dear Reader,
I know if you're a TBBT fan like I am, it bugs you to see characters OOC, unless I have a warning ahead of time. They're going to be a bit OOC here. I haven't watched the series in a while. I try to get as close as possible. There is only one character that is going to be extremely OOC and you'll find out who that is later. Joules is an original character, kind of my Alter Ego, if you will. I hope you enjoy it! Also, this is my first fanfiction ever. I hope you enjoy it. This is only the first chapter. I have more on the way. :D I don't even care if I get reviews! I just hope you enjoy it! Now Presenting “The Tutoring Experiment” Chapter 1: The Demo Joules walked into the Physics 101 lecture hall, knowing, that she'd never pass this class. Its not that she didn't know a lot about physics, or wasn't intelligent, she just didn't have the discipline for it. There was a ton of math... “Why did I even take this class?” Joules thought to herself. “Ah, that's right – Dr. Hofstadter is very forgiving – well that's what my friend Stephanie said...” frowning to herself. “He's probably some kind of old pervert that gives hot chicks good grades.” She thought to herself and shook her head. Sitting down at a desk that was in the very front and center of the lecture hall – which happened to be in front of the teachers desk – sat down her bag by her leg and dug through it for her Physics book, an orange notebook and a few mechanical pencils. She opened her notebook and wrote the date, and the lecture number on the top of the page. “Might as well take notes – God knows I'm going to need them!” She thought and chuckled to herself. Then turning to her Physics book she turned it to the Introduction. Just as she got to the first page of the introduction a young man, looking very flustered, pushing up his thick black framed glasses back upon his nose, rushed in through the door. She assumed he was a late student, as everyone was seated and the clock had struck the hour. As he hurried past her with his hair flying everywhere, his black framed glasses once again askew, she found him quite cute and charming. She could tell he was nervous, and flustered since he was late. Scanning his person she found he had a physics textbook, but not, like hers – a teaching edition, a bunch of notebooks, which he was loosing out of his grip, they were fanned out behind the textbook like a hand of cards, and seemed to stay that way no matter how many times he tried to fix them, under his tan jacket clad arm. As Joules contemplated the teaching edition of the text book – it hit her – “This? This is my...” stopping her thought to once over him again, a double take of sorts “...professor? This is Dr. Hofstadter?” Looking him up and down, she saw a young man. Not more than 27 years old. He had brown hair that he wore slicked back and parted down the middle, his chocolate brown eyes were framed by those thick black framed glasses he was fixing earlier, he was wearing a nerdy T-Shirt with the words “%20 the final frontier” with a bunch of stars on it, covered by a orange sweatshirt, and that covered by tan jacket. a pair of jeans, and a pair of black and white low cut converse sneakers covered the bottom half. “I must be dreaming – or he's a sub or something – maybe an apprentice, sent to teach the class? Well I have heard of graduate students teaching classes... maybe he's a graduate student – wait? Doctor? He's no graduate student...” Dr. Hofstadter started handing around the syllbi. Joules mind was still racing as to find some explanation as to why a cute, charming, obviously geeky guy would be teaching a physics 101 class. “I've got it! He has to teach us as a part of his job to get a tenure to keep doing his experiments! Or something like that.” she thought as she took the syllabi from one of her fellow students, keeping one and passing them onward. She gazed at Dr. Hofstadter in disbelief, and then he spoke. “Hi.” He said shyly (“Awww!” Thought Joules) “Welcome to Physics one-oh-one, I am Doctor Hofstadter, but you can call me Leonard. I'm not one for formalities.” He pushed his glasses back up his nose, cleared his throat, and straightened his jacket before picking up his syllabus off of the teachers desk. “As you see on the syllabi we will be going over very basic physics.” He then put down the syllabus and pulled open one of the desk drawers and pulled out a board with ropes attached to it, and a foam cup. He took the cup out into the hall way, then returned with it filled partially with water. He set the cup down on the desk and faced the class. “I bet I can make this cup go 360 degrees with out spilling a single drop of water.” He then picked up the ropes from the board and balanced the cup on top of the board. He then began to swing it. Not a drop of water was spilled – until he tried to slow the demonstration down to a stop – he tried to slow it down too fast. The cup of water upset itself, and splashed all over Joules and Leonard. The class roared with laughter. Joules, however, jumped up immediately and started helping Leonard clean up, giggling as she went. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
