Liam Spencer’s excitement grew as he made his way through the Minnesota woods. He was getting closer to his dream. Well, hopefully he was getting closer. The first step was to find the Winchester brothers. The second step was to get them to believe him. The brothers he knew were in the area working on a case. If he had a heartbeat it would’ve been pounding as he tracked them up the dirt path. It had been seven long months, and finally....
The trail led him to a run down looking cabin. This wasn’t the home of a monster. All was eerily quiet too. The vampire made his way silently up to the porch and opened the door. There were several heartbeats coming from inside, and many smells. These crazy ass humans reeked!
Liam continued to sneak his way inside, going unnoticed for now. In a room were three men and a little girl standing around who Liam was pretty sure was Dean Winchester tied to a chair. The smell of blood was in the air, so the guy was wounded. The eldest of the three men had a red hot poker pointed at Dean inches away from his eye. “We’re gonna have a hunt, and you get to choose who.”
Liam took the opportunity to step out into the room. “Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?”
“Who are you?” the elder man asked, the other two pointed their guns at him. “I knew he was a cop and others were gonna come after him!”
“I’m not a cop,” Liam answered cooly, “but I am after him,” he pointed to Dean who was looking at him strangely.
“Shoot him,” the elder directed.
One shot hit Liam squarely in the chest. The force of the bullet knocked him back a bit, but he remained standing looking just as determined. “What the hell...” the man who shot him mumbled, and they all looked at him as if he had a second head.
“That hurts, you bitch!” Liam growled at charged at the one who shot him. Before the man could react, the vampire had him by the throat and crushed his windpipe, letting his limp corpse fall to the floor. Next he turned on the elder of the group, extending his fangs and letting them sink into the soft flesh of his throat. While he drank deeply, sating his blood lust, the third man and the little girl ran for it. Liam could hear a deep groan coming from the chair, and he sighed as he let the dead man fall beside the other.
He turned to Dean, wiping the blood from his mouth. “Dean Winchester, I presume,” he said with a little smirk. “I’ve been looking for you.”
Dean struggled against his bonds, looking at Liam in disgust, and though he’d never admit it, there was a hint of fear in his eyes as well. “Really, what friend of yours did I kill? Nevermind, it doesn’t matter. Just know that you’re gonna be dead too.”
“Really now?” Liam smirked. “I hate to point out the obvious, but you’re tied to a chair. If anyone was going to be doing any killing, it would be me killing you. However, I’m not going to do that. In fact, I’ll even untie you if you promise to hear me out once you’re free.”
Dean snorted and just then two more people entered the house. Liam was ready for another fight, but it turned out to just be Sam and some woman cop. Liam kept an eye on the other hunter. He didn’t want to hurt them, but he knew this little endeavour of his was not going to be easy. “Who’s...?” Sam looked back and forth between Dean and Liam quizzically.
“He’s a damn vampire, Sammy! Get an axe!” Dean yelled.
“A vampire that just saved your asses,” Liam pointed out, his gaze still not leaving Sam just in case. “And I’ve a favor to ask.”
“Our asses would’ve been fine without you!” Dean spat. “Hurry up, Sammy, kill it and let’s get out of here!”
Sam didn’t move though, only stared at Liam. “What favor exactly?”
“Sammy....” Dean was starting to become very agitated.
Sam held a hand up to his brother. “He did help us, and he hasn’t moved to hurt us. Maybe we should hear him out.”
Liam’s lips curled into a grin. Maybe this was going to be easier than he thought. “Alright, three hundred and seventeen years ago I was minding my own business when I was attacked. He called me a pretty thing and poured some of his blood down my throat, effectively turning me. Now, I don’t want this, I never have. What I need you two to do is find a way of turning me human again.”
Dean laughed. “You expect us to believe that shit? Tell me, why us?”
“Because you’re the best. I’ve been told that if anyone can do it, you two can.”
Dean shook his head. “Well then, aren’t you a little screwed. You see, a vamp that’s tasted human blood can’t be turned back. Sorry to waste your time. Now, Sammy, kill it and untie me!” He looked to his brother, recognizing the look in his eye. “No, damn it! You actually believe this sob story?”
Sam swallowed hard. “Dean, there might still be away. And if he’s telling the truth-”
“Of course he’s not telling the truth!” Dean interrupted. “Monsters lie! Haven’t I taught you anything?”
“Let me finish,” Sam sighed. “If he is telling the truth, and he does need our help, maybe we should. I mean, he did help us.”
Dean rolled his eyes and made an attempt to stomp his foot, clearly unhappy with the situation. “Fine!” he growled. “Let’s just get out of here now! We’ve already been here too long.”
Sam hurried to untie his brother and help him up. The lady cop, who had been too stunned to say much of anything up to this point, walked out with them. “I’m going to have to call this in. Be best if you three were off the mountain by the time the cops get here.”
“Can you at lest give us a ride back?” Dean asked.
“Sorry,” she shook her head. “You’re gonna have to walk.”
“Just great,” Dean mumbled. “Come on,” he motioned to Liam.
Liam couldn’t contain the grin that appeared on his face. Sam was officially his favorite. He walked beside the brothers down the dirt road, Sam in between him and Dean.
“Now that we have the time, let’s put down a few ground rules,” Dean said. “You even think about making a snack out of one of us, I’ll take your head so fast you won’t have time to blink. In fact, you’re not sucking anything out of any live humans, you got that?”
“That’s gonna be a problem,” Liam protested. “Look, I need blood. Animal blood is disgusting, and well, depending on where this takes us, may be hard to find. If it makes you feel any better, I don’t kill my victims, well, often. I made an exception today, but the world isn’t gonna miss those sick fucks.”
“I said no drinking from live humans!”
“Wait, does it have to be warm?” Sam asked. “Cuz I might have an idea.”
“Warm is preferable,” Liam answered. “But, what’s this idea of yours?”
“Maybe donated blood?”
“Where exactly are we going to get donated blood?” Dean asked, more than a little irritated at the moment.
Sam shrugged. “Most hospitals have a blood bank. Maybe if we...”
Dean growled under his breath. “We’ll talk about it more when we get back to the hotel. My side and head are killing me, and I’m hungry.”
“And I need a bullet removed from my chest,” Liam added.
