Captive
Chapter 11
Goldar’s POV
I breathed a sigh of relief, as our shuttle landed on the comet successfully.
These days, my loyalty lies completely with Zedd, especially after he
revealed his master plan to me in full detail. Years ago, after Zordon’s
wave turned us human, Zedd promised me revenge. And this time we
would have it. But first, Ivan Ooze must be eliminated. I had sided with him
last time out of opportunity and fear. But he was nothing but a power
hungry control freak. And my current master had offered me a very
tempting position. General of his android army. This kind of power is what I
was truly born for.
“Ah...Scorpina, I was wondering when you would join me. It’s been a few
days since you first made contact with me. I almost didn’t recognize you in
human form,” Ivan greeted.
“Hello Ivan. Rito, Goldar and I have come to join your cause. We knew
when Ryan’s Comet returned, that you had to be behind,” she replied.
“Yes, those wretched rangers nearly destroyed me. But I’ve spent the last
ten years regenerating my lost essence and plotting my revenge against
those rotten rangers,” Ivan said. Scorpina continued to distract him, while
Rito and I set up the freezing device. Now all we had to do was lure the old
fool into the icy pit and with Scorpina, that wouldn’t be too hard.
“If you’re looking for revenge on the rangers, then our cause is the same,”
Scorpina said.
“Yes, stick with me and you’ll have your revenge. Zedd could never do
anything right,” Ivan boasted, completely oblivious to Rito and Goldar
behind him.
‘The fool has become nothing but arrogant and weak on this rock. This is
almost too easy’ I thought, as we took hold of his arms.
“What in blazes are you doing?!” he yelled, fighting us.
“Making sure nothing will interfere with our master’s plan,” I replied, as we
threw him into the icy chamber. I delighted in his screams of pain and knew
that I would soon be inflicting more on the people of earth. Lord Zedd
would be very pleased to know that Ivan would no longer be a threat ever
again...

Six Months later...
Will’s POV
Six months have passed since we began working on the weapon to
destroy the comet. We are nearly finished and only two days remain until
the comet collides with Earth. More and more rangers have disappeared
over the last few months, but with the tracking systems on Zordon’s ship, I
think I may be very close to locating them. His ship is truly an amazing
piece of work. It is very large with enough room to hold a 200 person crew
if necessary. The hyper drive capabilities are second to none, making it the
fastest ship in the galaxy and the cloaking device is so sophisticated that
the ship is untraceable by anything.
Trini has been helping us a great deal with the weapon and finding the
others. After Jason disappeared, she took a leave of absence from the
hospital in LA where she was third year chief resident. Now she is also
Kat’s doctor, as I didn’t want Zedd to find out anymore information about
her pregnancy. Kat is now eight months along and just two months ago, we
found out that she is having twins. We are going to be blessed with not
one, but two children. Sadly, that’s been about the only good new lately.
After Kim and Kira disappeared, Zack, who was living in New York, was
next. Not long after that, Ethan and Rocky disappeared. Wes Collins and
Eric Meyers got involved after all six members of Wild Force disappeared.
Over the next few months, the rangers in Mariner Bay and Blue Bay Harbor
also disappeared and eventually Jason. Now all that remains of our original
group is Tommy, Trini, Connor, Katherine and myself, as well as Zordon
and Dulcea.

I entered Zordon’s ship, which was carefully cloaked and hidden in the old
zord bay to check on my wife. I found her in sick bay getting a check up
from Trini.
“Hey,” I said, as I kissed her cheek.
“Is everything okay Trini?” Kat asked.
“Both seem very healthy, but since you are having twins and nearly 8 ½
months pregnant, the chances of you going into labor any time are very
great. But they both seem healthy so there should be nothing to worry
about. Absolutely no lifting or strenuous activity,” Trini warned.
“Don’t worry Tri, she won’t be lifting a finger,” I replied.
“Do you want to see the last ultrasound? The sexes of the children can be
seen.” Trini warned. Kat looked at me and I smiled.
“We want to know,” she replied.
“Okay, here it is,” Trini said, as she put it up on the lit screen. Kat and I
studied it for a moment and it became very clear to us.
“One of each,” I smiled. Kat eyes teared happily and I hugged her close.
Later that night, we arrived at home. I was relieved to see my dad and
step-mom had already arrived.
I had asked them to come stay with us with comet only a week away. I
wanted them in close reach if something were to go wrong. Plus, Jen
wanted to come help Kat anyway, which we were both grateful for. We had
both grown very close to Jennifer over the past few years. She has made
my dad very happy and we’ve all grown to love each other. Both my father
and Jennifer are excited about the near arrival of their grandchildren. We
hugged and sat down to talk.
“So is everything okay?” dad asked, referring to Kat’s last check up.
“Everything’s fine, though Trini said she could go in to labor any day,” I
replied.
“Well, that’s not uncommon with twins,” Jen replied.
“We found out the sexes of the babies,” Kat mentioned.
“We’re having a boy and a girl,” I finished. Both smiled brightly at us.
“Well, have you decided what you’re going to call them?” dad asked.
“Yes, we each picked a name,” I replied. Kat giggled.
“What’s so funny?” Jen asked.
“Nothing, it’s just that the names we picked actually match and we didn’t
even try,” Kat replied.
“Great minds thing alike,” Dad replied.
“We’re naming our son Luke William Cranston,” I stated.
“And our daughter Larisa Lynn Cranston,” Kat replied.
“Beautiful names,” Jen said.
“Now, on a less happy note, how is the weapon coming?” dad asked.
“It’s finished. The Astro Megaship is taking position tonight. Then in the
morning, we’re teleporting it up to the Megaship. The rangers will then land
on the surface, drill it in, and get out of there. After they are a safe distance
away, I am going to detonate it. If everything goes well, the only thing
hitting Earth will be small debris,” I replied. He nodded and sat quietly
processing what I had said. I know that my father is very proud of me for
everything I’ve done for the earth in my rangers days and after. But I also
know how much he worries about losing me. I give him a silent gaze, telling
him that I have no intention of letting anything happen to myself or my
family. He gives me a half smile of understanding.

Zedd’s POV
“You called for me my lord?” Goldar asked.
“Yes Goldar, make sure you and your troops are ready. Will has finished
his weapon and the Astro rangers will be attempting to destroy the comet
tomorrow,” I replied.
“What will you have us do master?” he asked.
“You and your troops will be secretly waiting for the Astro rangers on the
comet. Let them set the weapon down on the surface. Then capture them
all and transport them to the island. Leave the weapon and let Will
detonate it,” I told him.
“But master, why are you going to let him detonate it?” Goldar asked.
“It will only destroy part of the comet if the weapon is not drilled down into
the core. I need the comet to hit the earth, but I do not want it destroyed. I
will blame the failure on the power rangers and offer shelter to those who
decide to trust in me, as I will promise them that they will live. After the
comet has hit and the dust has settled, my army will be dispatched around
the globe to gather survivors. They will quell any rebellion against me. The
rangers on the island will not survive the impact and my army will hunt
down the others that are still out there,” I told him. Goldar nodded and
smiled evilly. I could tell he was truly enjoying this.
“Your plan is ingenious master. Finally, you will rule the earth, and soon the
galaxy just as you were meant to,” Goldar replied.
“Yes Goldar, and those who are loyal to me shall have their rewards,” I
promised my top general.

“Andros, are you in position?” I asked.
“We’re ready. Teleport the weapon,” Andros replied over the viewing
screen. I initiated teleportation and my weapon disappeared in a streak of
white light.

Andros’ POV
“All right guys, this is it. Let’s Rocket!” I called, as we morphed. Carlos and
Cassie were busy at the controls as we slowly descended to the surface of
the comet. Once we were safely set down, I motioned for the others to
follow me to the holding bay.
“Let’s go,” I said, as we began pulling the weapon out onto the surface. As
we were about to begin drilling, we noticed that we were suddenly
surrounded by many men dressed in black body armor.
“Sorry power rangers, but we can’t allow you to drill that weapon into the
comet. It will interfere with my master’s plan,” Goldar stated.
“Your master?! Zedd is behind this, isn’t he!” I yelled.
“Yes, but that won’t matter where you are going,” he replied.
“You know where the other rangers are! Tell us!” Zhane demanded.
“I’m not stupid silver ranger. I know very well that Tommy and Will are
listening to our conversation. Get them!” Goldar ordered. With that, the
battle ensued.

“Damn Zedd!” Tommy cursed. Suddenly, we heard Andros’ panicked voice
over the comm.
“Will, we’ve been captured! You’re going to have to detonate the weapon
anyway! It will destroy part of the comet. Don’t worry about the megaship.
Destroy it! I never want it to fall into Zedd’s hands!” Andros yelled. We then
heard him groan in pain. I quickly teleported Alpha 6 from the megaship
and detonated the weapon once I knew the rangers had been taken off it. I
clutched Kat close to me, as we watched the visual of the comet on
screen. After a bright wash of light, we looked back to see a comet that
was only half the size it had been before. My hands flew over the
keyboard.
“We only have an hour until the comet hits in the Atlantic ocean,” I said
gravely.
Suddenly, Connor and Trini came running out.
“Will, I think we’ve found the others! I think we’ve found them!” she said. I
took Kat’s hand, as we all followed her to Zordon’s ship.
“Where is that?” Kat asked, as we looked at the glowing beacon on the
scanner.
“It looks like a small uninhabited island in the Caribbean,” I replied. Zordon
sighed heavily, knowing what they had to do. He also knew his rangers
would not like it.
“Rangers, we must retrieve the others with my ship...and then we must
leave earth,” Zordon said.
“Leave earth?” Tommy questioned.
“We can’t leave the people of earth!” I insisted.
“Will, those who survive the comet will be under Zedd’s control. If we stay
on earth, Zedd will have us hunted down and killed. He will use the horror
of the comet to turn the people of earth against the rangers,” Zordon said.
“I believe Zordon is right son,” dad mentioned.
“I will not accept defeat! There has to be something we can still do!” I yelled
angrily.
“Will, we are only accepting defeat for today. We cannot win this battle
today and we will never win it later if we die. Zordon is right. Zedd will have
us hunted down and killed if we remain on earth. But if we leave, we will
live to form a rebellion against him and free the earth someday,” Dulcea
said.
“Will, they’re right. Zedd will kill us...and probably take our children,” Kat
said, as a few tears escaped down her cheeks. I reached up and wiped
them away.
“I won’t let that happen Kat, I promise you,” I replied. Soon, our cloaked
ship was almost there and Trini I worked tirelessly at the console to lock
onto the people on the island, which now included every former earth
rangers, as Wes and Eric had been captured a day earlier.
“Got em! Teleporting now!” I shouted. Suddenly, the large bridge of this
ship was filled with bodies.
“Tommy!” Kim called.
“Kim!” Tommy called, as he picked her up in his arms and spun her
around. Their lips met in a searing kiss, as they drank in the absence of
months from each other.
“Oh Tommy, I missed you so much,” Kim said.
“I missed you too Kim. I love you,” he replied.
“I love you too,” Kim replied, as they kissed passionately again.
Connor’s POV
“Kira!” I called, as I was reunited with her, as well as Trent and Ethan. I
carefully glanced between Trent and Kira, wondering how close they had
got in their captivity. Ethan sensed this and shook his head unnoticeably at
me. The air around us suddenly became very uncomfortable.
“Kira, can I talk to you?” I asked timidly, surprising myself. I was Connor
McKnight and I was never timid, especially around girls. Until it came to
Kira anyway.
“Sure,” she breathed.
“Kira....I..I have something I want to tell you,” I stuttered.
‘What is wrong with me? Pull it together McKnight, this is just Kira! She’s
just a girl...the girl I love,’ I thought to myself.
“Are you okay Connor?” she asked.
“Yeah,” I replied.
“It’s so good to see you. I missed you,” she said.
‘She missed me?!’ the words swirled in my head. It was now or never.
“I missed you too Kira...and I wanted to tell you that...I’m...I’m in love you
Kira,” I finally blurted.
“I love you,” I repeated calmly. She looked stunned for a moment and my
hopes began to fall, but then she smiled brilliantly. That smile that I love so
much.
“I love you too Connor,” she said, throwing her arms around my neck.
“Really? You love me too?” I asked in disbelief.
“Yes,” she whispered, as I realized our faces were only inches apart. I
began to close the distance. Our lips met in a soft, gentle kiss and I felt my
love her swell inside my heart, as I slowly deepened the kiss.
Kat’s POV
I smiled, as all my friends took turns hugging us. Suddenly, I felt a
contraction. They were normal these days, so I didn’t think much of it.
Suddenly, there was another came and it was very painful.
“Ooooh!” I cried, as I felt Will’s arms go around me.
“Kat, are you okay?” he asked in a worried tone.
“Ooooh!” I cried again, drawing everyone’s attention in the room. Trini
rushed over to me and placed her hand on my very round stomach.
“Okay Kat, you’re going into labor. Let’s get her to sick bay,” Trini said to
Will. My husband nodded and picked me up in his arms bridal style,
ignoring my protests that I could walk.

“My lord, our army has gathered the people of Angel Grove and
surrounding areas and placed them in the underground shelter. Most
seemed convinced about your earlier address that the rangers have failed
and abandoned them. The rangers have been rescued from the island and
they have left the earth. It is yours for the taking,” Goldar reported.
“Excellent, the comet will hit in a matter of moments. After the dust has
settled enough, send the army out to recover any survivors. Order them to
kill anyone who does not pledge their allegiance to me. At that time, I will
name and declare each ranger as enemies against my rule and then my
rise to power will be complete,” I replied.
“Yes my lord, but we should be getting underground now. The comet will
create giant tidal waves,” Goldar said. I nodded, as the platform in my
office descended into my secret underground lair. The earth was now mine
and with my army, soon the galaxy would be too...

AN: Hope you enjoyed! In the next chapter, Will and Kat’s twins are born.
The dust settles and most survivors rally to Zedd, realizing that he has
saved them. And most realize they must support him if they wish to stay
alive. Zedd creates a galactic broadcast, declaring himself supreme ruler of
earth. He names the rangers and declares them enemies to his empire. In
the dawn of the birth of the Cranston twins, the ranger rebellion is born...
The next chapter will be transitional, as we will see the dawn of Zedd’s rule
and move into the future where a strong rebellion fights to free the galaxy.
