Things had not been the same since the incident at the barn. The group had become divided between those that believed they had done the right thing for the safety of the group and those that felt this was the defining moment which we would ultimately lead to them not being welcome on the Greene property anymore. They had each done their part to ensure that their group would have a permanent place to be, but Shane’s actions were rash and made some question his motives. He could have gotten in his car and driven off and found another group to be with. He had been planning to do that ever since they got there. Things between him and Rick had not gotten any better and as of now they were not even speaking. And when they, did it was always an argument.
Melanie had spent most of the past few days trying to console Carol, who was still holed up in Dale’s RV. She had barely spoken to anyone, and would only leave the safety of the RV to take a walk along the edge of the property but she would quickly go back to where she originated from and shut herself back up again. Melanie was a good friend to her and she was glad for the company, although for most of their visits, they would sit in silence and Carol would mostly just stare out the window. But, Mel was patient, and kind. She even brought Carol cookies that she had made with Maggie in the kitchen.
Andrea and Maggie were in the kitchen that morning making scrambled eggs. When Melanie walked in, she noticed that the atmosphere in the room felt livelier, almost happy. She walked in right as Maggie and Andrea were in the middle of a very interesting conversation.
“I like a big solid one.” Andrea giggled,
“I don’t think it matters as long as you get one.” Maggie said with a huge grin on her face.
“Oh, man,” Andrea said “that’s what I miss the most. A good fuck.”
“But you slept with Shane, didn’t ya? Not to long ago right?” questioned Maggie with one eyebrow raised.
“Well, Shane is fun and all, but a good fuck he is not. I hate to talk bad about a man that we live so closely with, but………..he doesn’t last very long at all….”
“Oh No! that’s a shame.” Maggie replied. “That’s the worst. I hate it when you are with a guy who gets there before your even ready to try to get there. Ugh. I dated a few like him and college and its so disappointing. The should come with a warning label that says “Cums early”.”
Both women looked at each other and burst out into uncontrollable laughter.
Right at that moment Melanie walked in.
“Whats so funny?” Melanie asked. Of course she had overheard the conversation and she knew what they were talking about.
“Oh, well, you know…….Dicks…” and Andrea continued to laugh.
“So, Mel….Let’s talk about you and Daryl,” suggested Maggie with a wicked gleam in her eye.
“Oh no…I don’t kiss and tell. Besides, you know how much Daryl would hate to about me talking about how big his dick is. How long and hard it gets? How good it feels when he is sliding in and out of me?” and just as she said that, Daryl walked into the kitchen.
And he looked extremely uncomfortable.
“Hmm,hmm.” He cleared his throat. “Mel, need ta talk to ya.”
“yeah, sure, absolutely.” She said nervously and walked out of the kitchen behind him.
In the living room, Daryl stopped and turned around.
“Mind tellin me what that was in there?”
“You know how girls gossip. They were wanting me to tell them about you and me, you know, when we are alone.”
“Well, aint none of their business. Maggie there has Glenn to keep her happy and Andrea gets her rocks off with Shane the douchebag. I don’t want ya talkin bout us with anyone but me, k?”
“K…” and with that Daryl started to walk away. “Hey!” Melanie yelled at him. Daryl turned and stepped towards her again. “I love you, Daryl.”
“Love ya too, Mel. Oh yeah, I wanted to ask ya if you have seen Hershel today. Lori’s looking for Rick. She thinks they might have gone in to town to look for him.”
“Well, I saw him yesterday, He was still pretty upset about the whole thing that happened at the barn. He’ll come around but it will take some time.”
“Well, Maggie said he had taken to drinkin back in the day, so they must have gone in to town and checked out the bar. Just keep your eyes out for him.”
“Well, where are you going?” she asked. Daryl hadn’t told her anything this morning about him leaving today.
“Gonna go huntin…We’re almost out of squirrels. Gotta keep my girl fed. Don’t want ya wastin’ away in front of me.” He smirked and gave her a quick kiss. “I’ll be back by sunset babe. Be good.”
“Be careful, Daryl. Don’t wanna lose you.” And with that he was gone.
She had to figure out something to keep her busy. She couldn’t go back in the kitchen because the girls would continue to try and get juicy details about her sex life from her. Not that she had much of a sex life. Her and Daryl hadn’t been intimate since the other day and she really wanted him, but he seemed to be engrossed in other things. Maybe tonight, she thought.
Melanie decided she would go into town and lend Rick and Glenn a hand in trying to find Hershel. She went to the stalls and couldn’t find a horse to ride. Daryl had taken Nellie with him on his hunting outing. She decided she would just walk to town. After all, it wasn’t that far. And it was light out. If there were any walkers she would be able to see them.
She walked down the road and made it to the edge of town. No sign of Rick of Glenn. No cars. Nobody. There was no signs of anybody or anything. It was quiet. Too quiet.
She heard steps coming up behind her and before she knew it a hand was covering her mouth and dragging her off into the woods.
All she heard was….”Hey boys!! Lookie what we found!! Who wants to go first?!”
Holy Shit, she thought. I am in trouble.
