As they finished, Erin sat in bed. She glanced behind her at Justin asleep and smiled. They had made love without her fear paralyzing her. Placing a hand on his thigh, she knew they had errands to run before he returned to the military.
"Justin," Erin whispered gently, crawling on top of him. "We should get going to finish our tasks." She kissed his cheek.
The brunette squealed when an arm wrapped around her, pulling her back down. "Justin," she pouted, poking his nose. "Wake up!" Her sleeping boyfriend chuckled.
Feeling Erin climb onto him, Justin opened his eyes as the blanket slipped from his waist. He laughed at her words, wrapping his arms around her bare waist and pulling her close, his nose buried in her hair.
"Justin Voight, wake up!" Erin demanded, pushing his face away as he attempted to kiss her neck.
"Yes, bossy," he replied with a chuckle.
"Good, because I'm hungry and want to spend time with you before you leave," she stated.
Justin sat up and kissed Erin on the lips before dressing. "Where would you like to go?" he inquired, putting on his jeans.
"Perhaps somewhere for lunch?" Erin suggested, glancing at the sound of Justin's phone. She reached for it.
"Who is it?" Justin asked, slipping on his shirt.
Erin frowned as she read the message. "It's the military," she replied.
"What do they want?" Justin asked, leaning in to see the message.
"They're calling you back immediately," Erin said with a frown. "I don't want you to go, but you know you have to."
Justin frowned. "Already? I wasn't expecting to leave until 7 pm," he said.
Erin shook her head, showing him messages that had been sent a few days ago. "Apparently, they want you back now," she said. Justin frowned as he looked at them and bit his lip, having forgotten about the texts.
"They've been trying to get you to return," Erin added, handing Justin his phone and getting up to dress.
"Erin?" Justin asked with a frown.
"It's alright, Justin. I'll be fine until you get back," she said, buttoning her jeans.
Justin hesitated, wanting to spend time with her before leaving. "I can see if I can go later. I don't want to leave without—"
Erin interrupted him. "No, it's fine. You should get back. I can drive you to the airport if you like." She slipped her boots on.
"I don't want you to get into trouble, and besides, I need to talk to Hank about something that's been on my mind," Erin said, leaving the room to retrieve her jacket and keys.
Justin frowned, watching her leave. He wanted to know what she needed to discuss with his father before she shared it in the kitchen, but she had already exited his room.
After texting his father that he needed to return and requesting Erin's safety, the raven-haired man began packing his military bag.
Erin awaited Justin downstairs, her mind racing with thoughts of what she would do without him. How could she feel safe with Henley still at large?
The brunette shook her head. She had Voight and the team to assist her, but she didn't feel as secure with them. Jay had made it clear that he wanted nothing to do with her after the Cliffords case, refusing even to be her partner.
"Ready?" Justin asked, interrupting Erin's thoughts.
"Yeah, let's go," Erin responded, exiting before Justin could question her further. She knew that if she told him what was troubling her, he would refuse to leave and return to the military.
