Finding Disney
Four people land hard in front of a theater. They all stand up and look around.
"Where are we, Bogg?" Jeffrey asks the usual question that Bogg had gotten used to. Bogg opens up his Omni, just before Olivia opens hers.
The two male voyagers weren't used to having other people traveling with them.
"1928, Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles, California." he tells the small group, who was anxious for the information.
"Los Angeles? Oh, my god, Olivia! This is near Hollywood!" Morgan screams in delight.
Jeff holds his hands up to his ears.
"Ugh! Can you put your voice a bit lower, please?! It's giving me a headache!" he moans.
Morgan looks at him and puts her hands to her hips.
"What would you know about headaches, pee brain?"
Bogg looks over at Olivia. "Here we go again," he moans and she shrugs helplessly.
She thought at first the two would get along and the business of Drake had calmed them down a bit. Guess she was wrong.
"Olivia, I'm certain this is the theater where Mickey Mouse was first seen at!" Morgan points.
"Are you sure?" Olivia asks, not really knowing anything about films, let alone Mickey Mouse.
"Morgan, it wasn't REAL film about Mickey." Jeffrey tells her.
"It was too, Jeffrey! It might have been a silent film, but it was funny and made people laugh!" Morgan argues.
"It's not a film if ya can't hear the words," Jeff moans.
Bogg holds up his hands to quiet the teenagers. The arguing was giving HIM a headache and he wasn't liking it one bit.
"All right, you two! Knock it off, will ya?" he moans.
Smart kids are DEFINATELY giving me a pain! Bogg moans inwardly.
"Okay, once we find out what to do, we can try to find Disney and get Mickey Mouse going. IF you will stop fighting?"
Morgan looks over at Jeffrey, her eyes questioning him. Jeffrey shrugs.
He didn't know that he and Morgan were going to start arguing again, but it was making Bogg and Olivia think that they couldn't stand each other.
"Well, I think we need to go back only a couple of months. Maybe to April," Jeffrey hears Morgan saying.
"Why April?" Jeffrey challenges her.
"Cuz, that's when Crazy Plane was supposed to be written and put into film, smart-ass."
Jeffrey sticks out his tongue at her. Girls, he groans inwardly and rolls his eyes.
Bogg sighs. "Okay, everyone, grab on."
Once again, four people land on soft grass.
"California, 1928." Olivia beats Bogg to the push and gives him a big grin. He smirks at her as she puts her Omni back on her pant belt.
Before they could say anything more, a young man walks out of the building behind them. He almost bumps into them, for he was not looking where he was going.
He had his head down and fuming about something.
"Hey, be careful, will ya?" Bogg says, stopping the young man.
The man looks up at him with clear gray eyes. The look on his face was clear that he had been arguing and was upset.
"Are you all right, sir?" Jeffrey asks him.
The young man shakes his head. "No. The bank will not give me a loan for my film and it's almost due to run! If the bank gave me the loan, it will take at least a couple of weeks before it goes through and I don't have that time much time!"
Jeffrey gasps. "Sir, you wouldn't happen to be Walt Disney?" he asks.
The man looks at Jeffrey in surprise. "Why, yes, young man, I am. Do I know you?"
Jeffrey looks over at Bogg, hoping the pirate would help him out on this.
"No, sir. My son just knows about your work and is a big fan," says with a smile.
Jeffrey heaves a sigh of relief.
"Ahhh, then you have good taste, young man." Walt Disney shook Jeffrey's hand.
"NOT!" came Morgan's voice.
Jeffrey looks over at her and gives her a warning look. Morgan shuts up and moves closer to Olivia.
"Sir, what if I was to go in and talk to the manager? Perhaps he just needs someone different to talk to him?" Jeffrey suggests.
Walt Disney gives Jeffrey a questionable look. He did not know this young man. Not really. He was a nice boy, his eyes were honest, smile, kind.
He looks over at the adults, then to the young girl.
After thinking it over, he decides to allow the boy to give it a try. The only thing that could happen was to hear the bank say, "no" again, right?
"All right, young man. I'll give you a try. Just don't be surprised if the banker says no, son. He's not a firm believer on film making."
"Don't worry, Mr. Disney. It'll be okay," Jeffrey tries to smile with confidence. But, how could he have confidence when he didn't have any himself?
"May I go with you, Jeffrey?" Morgan asks, hopefully.
Jeffrey sighs. He really wanted to do this on his own, to show Bogg he could do it. Bogg wasn't there when he helped Thomas Edison with the light bulb and he wished Bogg had been there. It was so great to help the man. Made him feel like he did something!
"Okay. Just let me do the talking, all right?" Jeffrey says.
Morgan smiles. Just to be alone with him would be suffice to her. She hated fighting with Jeffrey, but it was the only thing she could think of to make it so that Bogg and Olivia wouldn't think there was anything different between them.
"You two be careful in there and watch your tongues!" Bogg said, giving Jeff a warning look.
"How can we, Bogg? Our nose's are in the way!"
Bogg moans. "Smart kids give me a pain!" he says as he watches the two teenagers walk in the building.
Once in the building, Morgan grabs Jeffrey's hand and starts pulling him.
"What?" he questions.
She looks around and sees the bathroom. She pulls him towards the bathroom. Once to the door, she pushes it open and yanks him in.
"Is this the girls restroom?" he says.
"Who cares?" she smiles and presses her lips against his.
Their tongues meet and they moan in tune. She was driving him crazy and she knew it. They couldn't make out here; they would have to wait till they got back at VHQ. He could feel his crotch getting hard and he knew that she could feel it against her body.
"I think we'd better stop," he gasps between kisses.
She nods, not being able to say anything. Morgan knew it was stupid of herself to kiss Jeffrey. But, she had missed him and couldn't wait any longer!
They gather themselves together, getting their breathing back to normal and shaking the feeling off. Jeffrey sighs. He enjoyed what he did with Bogg, but it was totally different with Morgan. The feelings he had for her were deep, strong. Yes, he loves Bogg, but...
"Jeffery?" Morgan interrupts him and he blinks back to reality. She had her small hand in his and they walk out of the bathroom.
They head to the manager's desk and he appears to be busy with paper work.
"Sir, may we talk with you?" Jeffrey asks as they sit down.
The man looks at them and chuckles. "Is this a joke? I can not give loans to teenagers!"
Morgan sighs. "We're not looking for a loan, sir. But, someone else is and he was just here." she tells him, her eyes serious.
"Are you referring to Walt Disney?" he asks, crossing his arms over his chest.
"Yes, sir." Jeffrey nods.
The manager sighs. "It figures that Disney would use mere children to help him get a loan,"
Jeffrey stands up, puts his hands on the man's desk and looks at him square in the eyes.
"Sir, we're not just any children. We're fans of his work and we also know that his film WILL work! If you don't give him that loan, you'll miss out on one of the greatest animation creators of all time. Not to mention his animation will make millions of dollars. You'll regret it if you don't give him a loan."
Morgan looks over at Jeffrey. All of a sudden, he looks and acts a lot older than fourteen and she smiles at him proudly.
The man looks at him. "I will, will I?" he says, his voice full of thought. Jeffrey smiles and nods. He loves doing these kinds of thing and wishes that Bogg would allow him to do more. Perhaps if he ever became a Voyager by himself, he can do a lot more.
It seemed to have taken forever and Bogg was about ready to go in there when the kids came out.
"It's about time, kid! What happened in there?" he demands, wanting to put his protective arms around him.
Jeffrey's smile went from one side to the other of his face, he couldn't keep it inside him.
"Mr. Disney, we were able to get you that loan," he tells the eager man in front of him.
"You did? How did you do it?" Disney asks, his eyes wide.
"Let's just say we put our power of charm into it,"
"Young man, you just made me the happiest person alive!" Disney says and shakes the hand of Jeffrey Jones as Bogg, Olivia and Morgan look on in pride.
'You're...you're welcome, sir." Jeffrey says.
Mr. Disney was shaking his arm so hard, Jeffrey thought his arm was going to fall off!
"Would you four like something hot to drink? It's awfully cold out,"
"Thank you, but we've got to get going." Bogg smiles at him.
"It was nice meeting you, sir." Jeffrey says, trying to get his hand back.
"Same here. Will I see you again?"
"Not sure, but it's likely," Olivia says.
They waited until Disney left them and Bogg took off his Omni. He flips it open and shows it to Jeffrey with a proud smile.
"It's a green light, kid. You did it!"
Jeffrey smiles, but his smile fades as Morgan takes hold of his arm.
"We BOTH did it," she says.
"Shall we get back there?" he asks and they all agreed.
This time, they land in seats in a theater.
"Now THIS is what I call a landing!" Jeff says, shifting himself in the chair to get comfortable.
"You can say that again," Bogg says.
"This is what I call..."
"Forget it, kid." Bogg moans and the three of them laugh at his expense.
Suddenly, the picture show begins and they all had a good laugh at the silently picture. They laughed so hard that it made their sides ache and tears come their eyes.
At the end of the show, they left the theater. Morgan looks over at Jeffrey, who was having a hard time to stop laughing.
"So, you still think silent pictures are lame?" she whispers.
He waits till Bogg and Olivia were a few feet away. He leans into her and gives her a quick peck on the lips.
"No, silent pictures are not lame." he says and she gives him the smile that he adored so much.
"Okay, gang, where shall we find Disneyland at?" Olivia says, anxious to know what this place is that the kids had been pestering about.
"How about Anaheim, California, 1970?" Jeffrey asks.
Morgan puts her hands on her hips.
"And WHY 1970?" she demands.
"Cuz, that's the highest circa that Bogg's Omni can go." he tells her.
"Well, Olivia's goes to."
"1971, Morgan." Olivia tells her.
Olivia opens her Omni and starts to turn the dials.
"So, we going or what?" Bogg asks, a little annoyed.
Jeffrey nods sensing Bogg's tension. He could tell the pirate was ready to get going.
"Yeah, I'm ready. I'm also ready to have some fun!" Jeffrey says, his brown eyes shining.
"Okay, let's go." Bogg sighs.
They all grabbed onto Olivia, whether on her arms or on another person that was attached to her.
In a flash, they were in front of a castle!
"The Sleeping Beauty Castle! Oh, we made it!!!!" Morgan cries out and hugs Olivia.
Jeffrey hugs Bogg, but breaks the hug quickly. He could feel the bulging in Bogg's pants and saw the eager look in the pirate's eyes.
"Shall we get some shuteye before doing anything else? I don't know about you guys, but I'm beat!" Bogg says.
"Nah!!!" Jeff says, "I'd like to go on some rides first!"
Bogg groans as if in pain, "I thought you'd say that!"
Bogg had a feeling that Jeffrey would want to go on the rides. The kid had done a lot of work in the past few months he'd been voyaging; he DID deserve a little break. On those kind of rides? He would much rather be going through the cosmos any time!
He looked wearily at what Jeff called "roller coaster". Looked pretty dangerous to him!
Jeff looks over at his partners and grins. Bogg was actually turning green! Jeff goes over to him and pats him on the shoulder.
"Awww, c'mon, big guy! You're not afraid of a little roller coaster, are ya?"
Bogg gives him a shocked look. "Little, you call that little, kid? That's nearly ten feet high!"
Olivia chuckles. "Phineas Bogg, Voyager. Afraid of a simple roller coaster! Seriously, Bogg, how bad can it be? We go through the cosmos all the time!"
"Yeah, but you can fall off those things!"
Jeffrey, noticing the look on his partner's face, looks around for a more 'tamer' ride. Smiling, he sees the dumbo ride and shows it to Morgan. She smiles at him and nods in agreement.
"C'mon, Bogg. We found a good one for ya," Jeff says, taking the pirate by the arm.
Morgan happily led Olivia by the arm, practically pulling the older woman.
"Morgan, slow down! You're pulling my arm out of the socket!" Olivia gasps.
"C'mon, Bogg, it'll be okay."
"Hey, you're taking MY line, kid! But, I guess I'll have to take your word for it, huh?"
Jeff flashes him a smile. Oh, great, just what I need, Bogg moans inwardly.
They stand in line and they come to the ride director. He stops Morgan and Olivia and looks down at the girl.
"Sorry, no kids under five," he says.
"I'm NOT five! Olivia!" Morgan cries out, tears beginning to form.
Olivia looks at the man, who was poorly dressed, looked and even smelled like he hadn't bathed in a week, and says, "I assure you, sir, that if you had enough sense, you would be able to see that this girl is older than the required age. She is fourteen and more than capable of handling herself than I'm sure you are!"
"All right, Olivia!" Jeff hollered from behind.
Needless the say, the man lets them pass.
Morgan sits with Olivia and Jeffrey sits with Bogg. He wanted to make sure Bogg was okay on the ride. Jeffrey was upset with himself, not knowing that Bogg didn't like heights.
Being a partner, Jeff figured he should know more about the man, being with him for two years and all. He had often heard Bogg say he was afraid of heights, but shrugged it off, since they DID travel through the cosmos nearly every day.
Jeffrey kept an eye on Bogg and was glad that the ride had started off slowly, though Bogg kept looking down at the ground and his knuckles were as white as a sheet from clinging onto the bar so tight.
Then they started going faster and Bogg looks over at his young friend with sheer fear in his eyes.
Jeffrey mouths, "It's okay, Bogg."
The ride goes faster and faster. Morgan is laughing as well as Olivia. Jeffrey did not enjoy the ride as much as he thought he would, feeling sorry for the pirate.
At the end of the ride, Jeff helped Bogg off of the Dumbo.
"Are we off?" Bogg asks quietly.
"We're off, Bogg." Jeff nods.
"Need a barf bag, Bogg?"
Bogg gives Jeff an annoying chuckle and says "Very funny kid."
"Then, can ya tell the ground to stop spinning?"
"What's the matter with Bogg?" Morgan asks, concern in her eyes.
"He doesn't like heights," Jeff tells her.
"But..."Morgan gives Olivia a questioning look.
"It's a long story, Morgan. Which I will tell you later," Olivia whispers.
"Okay,"
Bogg had come back from hurling and looks at Jeff. "If we're gonna go on another ride, can we go on something SLOWER?"
"Sure, Bogg. We can find something," Jeff nods.
The four walk around, taking in the sites of Disneyland.
Suddenly, Morgan takes Jeffrey by the arm and points.
"How about that one?" she whispers.
Jeffrey gazes over to where she was pointing and smiles. "Looks safe enough," he smiles at her.
"I think we found something for you, Bogg!" Jeff calls to the older voyagers.
"You better have kid! Other wise, I'm gonna find us a room!" came the answer.
Jeffrey chuckles as he and Morgan leads their partners to the ride.
They walk inside to enjoy the ride that is called IT'S A SMALL WORLD.
Bogg was glad that Jeffrey was right about the ride. It was calm and friendly. He also liked the song that was played through out the ride. He sat with Olivia and had his hand on her knee. Jeffrey and Morgan sat behind them and he was certain that the children were also enjoying the site of the ride.
He felt like he was in another place, another country. And it wasn't from voyaging. He just sat in the little car, moved his hand to go around Olivia's shoulders and she put her head on his shoulders. NOW THIS WAS A RIDE, he thought.
In the seat behind them, Jeffrey and Morgan were enjoying the sites themselves. She had her hand on Jeffrey's knee as he had his arm around her shoulders in a protective way. The song was soothing them in a way. Even though they had known that it was a big world, the song was telling them it was indeed a small one.
Where everyone was the same no matter where you went:
it's a world of laughter, a world or tears
its a world of hopes, its a world of fear
thereʼs so much that we share
that its time we're aware
its a small world after all
CHORUS:
its a small world after all
its a small world after all
its a small world after all
its a small, small world
There is just one moon and one golden sun
And a smile means friendship to everyone.
Though the mountains divide
And the oceans are wide
It's a small small world
By the end of the ride, the four could just about sing the song word for word! Bogg hated the ride to end and wanted to beg the others to go on again. But, he knew that would be childish.
He also knew that the kids were anxious to go on more rides and he was obliged to go along with it. As long as they did not go on that roller coaster!
They went on numerous rides, some Bogg liked, others he didn't really care for. Some, Olivia stayed safe on the ground with him as they watched their kids
enjoy the ride together.
It was almost like a family outing. Just him, Jeffrey, Olivia and Morgan. One big happy family. For now...
It was when Bogg thought they were heading to get a room when Jeff stopped them. They were in front of the rollercoaster.
"No, kid. I'm NOT going on that thing!" Bogg said, crossing his arms over his chest.
"C'mon, Bogg, quit being stubborn! Just go on it once, please?" Jeff gives him that puppy eye look that always melts his heart.
Bogg sighs. "Okay, okay. But, if I get sick again..."
Jeff crosses his fingers over his chest. "I promise I won't make fun,"
"All right. You'd better not,"
Gingerly, Bogg climbs into the little car and helps Olivia in. Jeffrey helps Morgan in their car in front of Bogg and Olivia. The ride starts and Jeff could see Bogg
all ready tensing up. He felt sorry for the big guy. He's had a rough day.
During the ride, they all scream. Jeff, Morgan and Olivia from sheer joy. From Bogg, from sheer fright! He did not let go of the bar in front of them and did NOT look out of the car. He was certain he would fall if he looked down. At one point, he had felt Jeff's hand on his shoulder, squeezing it, as if to give him assurance. That calmed him somewhat.
Finally, the ride was over. He didn't want to let go of the bar, of fear he'll fall.
"Phineas, it's okay. The ride is over," he heard Olivia's voice. It sounded far, far away. He felt her hand on his.
"Bogg..."Jeff's voice came.
"Is everything okay, ma'am?" he heard someone ask Olivia.
"Everything is fine, sir. He's just not used to these kind of rides,"
That's putting it mildly, Bogg thought. He wished he could say something, anything. But right now it was as if his heart was in his throat.
Please, Liv, get me outta here, Bogg begged inwardly. He wasn't a coward, really. He was gonna get the kid for this....
Some how, the three of them were able to get Bogg out of the car. His trembling legs landed firmly on the ground as Jeffrey steadied him on his feet. "No more rides, kid." he begged. "No more rides Bogg. I promise," Jeff whispers in his ear.
"Where are we, Bogg?" Jeffrey asks the usual question that Bogg had gotten used to. Bogg opens up his Omni, just before Olivia opens hers.
The two male voyagers weren't used to having other people traveling with them.
