Justin watched as Erin pulled out of the airport after he exited, shaking his head, refusing to dwell on the reasons for his return.
With his girlfriend gone, Justin entered the building, adjusting his bag as he approached the counter to inquire about a flight to New York, his assigned destination.
"Let me check availability," said Clark, the attendant, scrutinizing his computer.
"Your flight doesn't leave until 7 pm," Clark informed him, prompting a frown from Justin. "That's strange, I received a text stating otherwise," Justin said, displaying his phone to Clark.
Clark examined the screen and shook his head. "No, everything appears normal from my perspective," he explained. Justin nodded. "Thank you," he muttered, stepping aside to allow another customer to approach.
Justin approached a bench and sat to text Erin, informing her of the situation. Frowning, he glanced at his phone's screen to discover he had no signal. The battery indicator read 15%. "I'm certain it was at 80%," he mused, confused.
He tapped the phone to check for a glitch when a flight attendant approached, asking, "Excuse me, Mr. Voight, may I have a moment?" Justin acknowledged him, rising from his seat.
"How can I assist you?" Justin inquired, walking toward the flight attendant, whose features seemed familiar. Justin dismissed the thought as imagination.
A glance at the clock revealed it was only 1 pm. "I wonder if you could help me find something," the flight attendant suggested. "What is it?" Justin asked, puzzled as to why a flight attendant would seek his assistance.
The flight attendant nodded, suppressing a smirk as he guided Justin to where he supposedly needed assistance. "Follow me," he instructed, keeping his hands in his pockets.
Justin nodded anxiously, contemplating a way to extricate himself from the situation without arousing suspicion. The dark-haired man seemed suspicious. This was not a flight attendant.
"Where are we headed?" Justin inquired cautiously, trailing behind the man through the airport. "I seem to have misplaced my phone," the flight attendant replied evasively, leading them out of the airport to a secluded spot.
Justin's suspicion deepened as he followed the flight attendant outside. It seemed implausible that someone working on a plane would leave their phone outside.
"Who are you, truly?" Justin demanded, turning to confront the flight attendant. "I have no idea what you're implying, sir," the brunette shrugged nonchalantly, pausing as a door slid shut behind them, sealing them in a shadowy alcove.
Justin shook his head. "I'm talking about you trying to hide something from me. No flight attendant would lose their phone outside without noticing," he said, turning to walk back inside.
"Oh, really?" the flight attendant asked with a scoff, pulling something from his pocket. "I guess you're right, Voight!" he said, getting Justin to turn around just before the brunette could hit him with the knife. Justin jumped back before it could stab him in the back.
Justin glared at the other man, making sure he was a few feet away. "What the hell? Who are you?" he demanded, his mind flashing back to where he had seen this guy before. His eyes widened when it hit him.
"Henley!?" Justin sneered, his mind racing to Erin now that he understood it was a trap. "What the hell are you doing here? What are you doing out of prison?" he demanded, forgetting that Henley was out.
Henley chuckled, "A friend bailed me out." He shrugged and took a step towards Justin. "Now, accompany me!" he declared, brandishing the knife at Justin, who now understood Henley's intentions.
"You're using me to reach Erin, aren't you?" Justin inquired, retreating. Henley smirked, "Possibly." He shrugged and approached Justin.
Justin cursed under his breath, realizing the situation's gravity, especially since his flight hadn't been rescheduled. "Leave Erin alone!" Justin exclaimed, determined to escape and warn her about Henley.
Henley smirked as he watched two figures stealthily approaching Justin from behind. "I'd do it myself, but that slut deserves a lesson!" he said, signaling his companions with a nod.
Justin glared at Henley, "Erin is not a slut!" he shouted, his focus solely on Henley until he felt arms encircling his neck.
"What the hell?!" Justin snarled, kicking the foot of the man on his right. The man released his grip, allowing Justin to fight back. His phone slipped from his pocket during the scuffle.
Justin kicked the second attacker in the knee and shoved them both away. He turned toward the entrance to rescue Erin from Henley, but a shot hit his leg, sending him to the ground.
The raven-haired man screamed in agony, clutching his wounded thigh. "Damn you!" he hissed as Henley approached. Before Justin could speak again, another shot hit his shoulder, followed by a blow from the gun's butt, knocking him unconscious.
"You'll only be watching and listening to your girlfriend's cries," Henley sneered. He signaled his accomplices to load Justin into the van.
Henley joined them in the vehicle and sped away with Justin as their captive.
