Chapter One:Five Years Later
Five Years Later...
Nathan stood at the door and watched his brother suffer. He had never seen Lucas so broke up before, it tore him up inside. In a voice just above a whisper Nathan said, “I'm sorry Luke, she's gone.”
Lucas stared off as if his brother had said nothing, “I never took the time to make her feel comfortable with my history. Never took the time to explain it all.”
Nathan asked gruffly, trying to shake his older brother out of his mood, “So what are you gonna do? What happens next?”
Lucas finally looked up at him with his crystal blue eyes, streaked with pain and said simply, “I want her back.”
Nathan gestured with his neck, “Then go get her.” His voice broke for a just a moment as his feelings swelled inside of him and said, “You're Lucas Scott.”, when Lucas looked away he said, “Oh come on, screw that look at me.”, and when he did, Nathan bit down on his own emotions and said, “You're Lucas Scott ok? And I've seen you do great things, I've seen you do some of the greatest things. And you need to look in your heart and ask yourself what you truly want. And if the answer is Lindsey, then just go get her man. She doesn't stand a chance.”
“I know I didn't.”, he thought to himself.
Out loud he continued, “Look you're my brother, I'm here for you. Now go.”, Lucas looked down and chuckled, “Go on man.”
Lucas slowly stood up and began to walk out. And Nathan looked away, knowing he was going to go to her. He watched him walk out without a word, and took a deep breath. And he let it go. That part of his life was over. And Luke had moved on. He sat there for a long while, trying not to feel alone.
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Later that night...
Nathan heard the sound of something dropped downstairs. Asleep in Jamie's room while his son slept with Haley, he had just dozed off when he heard it again. Someone was downstairs, and it was too late for that crap. Getting up he reached over and grabbed Jamie's baseball bat and crept downstairs. He was shirtless, wearing only a pair of shorts, but he was pretty sure he could take whoever it was who decided to break into his home.
Especially if it was a certain nanny.
Nathan choked up on the bat hoping that dingbat bitch was downstairs so he could knock her head off and saw he thought it was an intruder with a gun or something. He heard someone in the living room and moved around the kitchen to see who it was.
And sitting in the dark in a lounge chair was Lucas. One hand on a bottle of Jack, looking drunk as hell.
“Damnit Luke, what the hell!”, Nathan said lowering the bat.
“Nate!”, Lucas said holding up the bottle, come to join me?”, he split a good amount of alcohol on the carpet as he gestured. Nathan winced as he saw the booze rain down.
“Shut up man! Haley and Jamie are...”, and the lights upstairs came on.
“Nathan?”, Haley called out, a tone of real fear in her voice.
“Hey honey!”, he called back, “It's ok.”
“Who's down there!”, she called back, he could tell she was scared for Jamie as well.
“Um...no one. Go back to bed.”, he called back but he heard her start coming downstairs.
“Nathan you're talking to someone, who is...”, and Nathan ran over to the stairs and stopped her.
“It's Luke ok?”, he said holding his arms out to stop her, “And he's not good.”
She tried to move around him,”Well let me see him.”, she said and stopped when she saw Nathan wasn't moving.
“He's hurting Hales, and trust me. Tomorrow when he's sober and awake, he will feel humiliated you saw him like this. Let me get him home and make sure he's ok. I promise you I will take care of him.”
“Why would he care if I saw him?”, she said putting her hands on her hips.
“It's a guy thing hon, trust me. He's just hurting real bad.”, Nathan smiled and tried to reassure her.
“You're gonna take him home?”, she asked.
“Yeah”, Nathan said looking back at his brother, “He's in no condition to drive. I'm gonna get him home and get him to bed. If he goes out I will be home in a few. If not, I will be home by breakfast. I just wanna make sure he stays down.”
Haley's face softened and she put a hand to her husband's face, “You are a great brother Nathan Scott.”
Nathan smiled, “Well I have a lot to make up for.”
“Call me if you need anything.”, she said walking back upstairs.
“I will.”, he said and waited until she was out of sight. Going back to Lucas he grabbed his brother's hand, “Come on Luke, let's get you home.”
Lucas was too drunk or too tired to argue.
00000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000
Nathan lugged Lucas into his house, one hand fumbling with the door, the other trying to keep the lanky blond on his feet. After a few tries they both stumbled through the door, Nathan tossing Lucas on his bed face down. After a second to catch his breath Nathan closed the door and through his keys on the nightstand. Lucas was still face down on the bed.
“Come Luke”, he said, “Let's get you in bed.”
Luke groaned slightly as Nathan pulled his shoes off. Nathan flipped his brother over on his back, and saw Lucas crack an eye open, “Nate?”
Nathan kind of laughed, “Yeah Luke, come on. Let's get you in bed.”
Nathan, will very little help from Lucas, pulled his jacket and pants off. Lucas, clad only in his black boxer briefs, climbed under the covers quickly. Nathan tried not to laugh at how much he looked like a gown up version of Jamie in the way he grabbed the covers around him like a fort.
Nathan stood there for a few seconds to see if his brother would rest. After about a minute Nathan reached down to grab his keys and Lucas said, “Nathan”
Nate froze, “Yeah Luke?”
“Please don't leave.”, he sounded completely sober. Completely sound. And completely miserable. There was no emotion, no tone, no nothing. Just the stark request, that Nathan knew was killing him to ask.
Pulling his own shoes off Nathan slid into bed next to Lucas, “Ok bud, give up some of those covers.”
Lucas held the comforter up and allowed his younger brother to climb in. Once Nathan was in the bed Lucas moved closer and rested his head on Nate's shoulder. Nathan slipped his arm around Lucas and pulled him close as he felt his brother start to cry into him.
“Why Nate? Why did she leave?”, he wailed.
Nathan stroked Lucas' back as he comforted him, “I don't know Luke, I really don't.”
Lucas continued to lay there, crying into his brother's lean frame. Lucas pulled back, “Can you take that off? It hurts a little.”
Nathan reached down and pulled the basketball jersey off over his head and tossed it across the room. He settled back down as Lucas burrowed into him. Nathan's arm slipped around him again out of habit. The two of them laid there, silent and warm. The feel of their bare skin against each other.
After a minute or so Lucas said, “I am going to be alone forever.” he turned away from Nathan, facing the back wall. Nathan stared at the muscular back of his brother and saw him heaving with tears. Moving behind him Nathan wrapped his arms around Lucas and pulled him back into him, squeezing him tight.
“That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard Luke. You're...”, and his voice faltered, “...you're perfect. Anyone who would reject you is crazy.”
Lucas laid there for a while, he placed a hand on his brother's arm and gripped it tight. In a soft voice he said, “I'm not perfect.”
Nathan laughed, “Man you just don't know what you look like form the outside do you?”
Lucas was silent for a long time then he asked, “What do you mean?”
“You have everything Luke. You are smart, funny, one of the best looking guys I have ever seen. You barely work out and your body is incredible. You have everything, and you don't even know it.”, Nathan stopped talking, not trusting himself to keep talking. After a long silence he said, “It's hard sometimes. Just being around you. Everything you do...it's just...right. And you can't feel but that you aren't as good. That's why I hated you so bad when we were kids.”
“Why?”, Lucas asked, his voice clearer of emotion.
“Because the only thing I had was basketball. The only thing that made me special. And then you came along, as good looking as me, in as good a shape and you could play.”, Nathan trailed off for a second in memory, “Damn you were good. And I hated that. I wasn't smart, I wasn't caring. I was basketball. And you almost took that from me.”
Lucas turned around and faced Nathan. Their eyes met in the darkness, “I wasn't as good as you.”, he said.
“You could have been. You could have been better, and we both know it.”, Nathan said, “You have no idea how you look from the outside.”, he looked deep into Lucas' eyes, “You're perfect.”
They laid there, both of them face to face. Not a word said, but the emotion thick as water. Lucas started to move forward, his mouth moving towards Nathan's. Nathan said, “I thought we weren't going to do this any more.”
Lucas stopped and smiled, “I changed my mind.”
And he kissed him.
Nathan moaned as he pulled Lucas into him, pulling his brother onto him as his tongue filled Lucas'. Nathan could feel Lucas' hardness lying on top of him, his own cock was swollen. They continued to kiss like two people trying to consume each other. Lucas hungry for Nathan and Nathan starving without Lucas. It had been five long years since they had touched each other like this, and it had been too long.
Nathan could feel Lucas move his hands down his hard chest and abs. The cold hands slipping into Nathan's loose basketball shorts and grabbing the rigid member that was there. Nathan groaned into Lucas' mouth as Lucas moved his hand up the entire length of the massive cock.
“I want this.”, Lucas said pulling his mouth off of Nathan's, “I need this.”, he said, “Please Nathan...stay with me tonight. Please.”
Nathan felt his cock throb in his older brother's hands and knew his wife and child was waiting for him at home. But looking into Lucas' eyes, he knew where he wanted to be. He grabbed Lucas and flipped him over on his back. Hovering over him Nathan looked down at the smooth form of his brother and smiled, “I love you Lucas.”
He kissed him again, and Lucas kissed him back as hard as he could.
To be continued...
