CHAPTER 16
            Fin lay with his eyes closed and smiled as he felt Sam moving beside him. It was nice
having her here. He liked the idea of having her in his bed.
            He opened his eyes when, once again, he felt her fingers tracing the outline of his lips.
There was no mistaking the look of desire he saw on her face. She leaned forward to kiss him, but
he balked.
      0;�     “Sam, don’t. This isn’t right.”
            She smiled at him. “It’s a little late for that now, isn’t it?”
            Before he could protest again, her arms came out from under the blanket and encircled
ne
neck. It took him a few seconds to realize that he could see more of her skin than he should.
Almost in slow motion, he reached out his arm and stroked her back. He was right. She was
completely nude. The thought of her naked body in bed with him both thrilled and scared him.
She nearly laughed at the look on his face.
            “You don’t mind, do you?”
            She kissed the tip of his nose and each of his eyelids. She took her time covering his face
and neck, breathing him in and tasting him with little flicks of her tongue. He tried to control his
own rush of desire, and more importantly his hands- he almost needed to touch her- but knew he
was losing control. He’d wanted this nearly from the beginning.
            Sam ran her hands down his chest to his abs. Sliding them under his shirt, she caressed
the warm skin underneath, sending jolts to the pit of his stomach. He grew harder with every
touch and began to feel himself throb. Shifting position to gain better leverage, she pulled his
shirt up and over his arms and head. She then readjusted herself so that she nearly lay on top of
him with her knees in between his legs.
             The feeling of her bare breasts against his chest was more than ouldould handle. He took
her head in both his hands and pulled her to him. She went gladly, and pressed her mouth tightly
to his. He explored her mouth with his tongue, anxious to find hers. When she offered it to him,
his mouth claimed it until she pulled away.
       㼠160;   She kissed his neck and chest, nibbling at his ears as he ran his hands over her back and
down the curves of her cheeks. Reflexively, he grabbed hold of each one when she pressed a knee
to his groin and rubbed it against his erection. Kissing her way down his chest, she slid her
tongue over his stomach, and, finding her path blocked by his sweats, pulled them down and off.
Fin gripped the edges of the bed as she massaged his sac with her tongue before gently sucking it.
She ran her hand up and down the length of his shaft then sampled it, too, with her tongue.
>            He breathed in sharply when she took him into her mouth and began sucking him. He
desperately tried to resist thrusting upwards, but knew it wouldn’t be long before he exploded.
He pulled her away and up to him, then rolled to lean over her. He kissed her throat and
shoulders while his hands took their turn at exploring her.
            Lowering his head, he ran his mouth over one of her nipples and rolled it with his tongue.
Then, encouraged by the sound of her gasps, he took it gently between his teeth. Her hands came
to his head and held him there. Pulling on her with his mouth, he brought his hand to her other
breast and rubbed its nipple between his fingers.
            She pressed her body urgently against him until he settled himself between her legs. He
entered her slowly and deliberately, reveling in the feel of her. Warm and wet, her body seemed
to encase him as he pushed deeper and deeper into her. When she had taken him completely, he
withdrew and plunged into her again. Crying out, she wrapped her legs around him and met each
of his thrusts with an upward thrust of her own. Their bodies moved together in a rhythm that
drove them closer and closer to release until he felt her body tense and her spasms all around him.
He reached his own climax as he heard her call out his name.
            “Fin?”
            Fin bolted up in bed. Still half asleep, he reached for Sam but found only her voice
coming from his answering machine.
            “Hello! Detective, are you there?”
            He reached across the bed and picked up the phone.
            “Yeah. Okay. I’m here,” he breathed.
>            “Boy, are you a heavy sleeper! Must have been some dream.”
            Fin said nothing. Instead, he concentrated on getting his breathing under control.
            “Did I lose you again?”
            “No. No, I’m here. Where are you?”
            “At my office. I had to come in early, but I didn’t want to wake you so I sort of slunk
out. I turned your alarm off so you could get a little extra sleep. Consider this your friendly
wake-up call.”
            Fin remained quiet. His body was having trouble letting go of the dream, and was still
responding to the sound of her voice.
            “Hello?”
            “Yeah?” He was anxious to get off the phone.
            “You’re not angry with me, are you?”
            “No. No, it’s okay. I’m just a little grumpy in the morning.”
            “I guess that’s good to know,” she laughed. “I’ll talk to you later, then. Bye.”

            “Bye.”
            Fin hung he phe phone and exhaled several big breaths. He needed to get the remnants of
the dream out of his mind and body before he met up with his partner. Munch would smell the
guilt on him in a minute.
            Despite Sam’s good intentions, Fin knew that now he’d have to be late for work.
Disgusted with himself, he ripped the sheets off the bed and threw them in the washer. He hadn’t
had a wet dream since he left junior high.

            Sam quickly pulled car car into a parking space in front of Ming’s Oriental Dining. She
was in a rush this morning and hadn’t had time for breakfast. Now she was starving. She was
glad George had suggested lunch.
            He looked at her as she pulled her keys out of the ignition. “We’re eating here?”
            Sam looked at the restaurant, then back at him. “I thought we could. Why?”
            He gave her one of his ‘I know something you don’t’ smiles that he usually reserved for
the SVU detectives. “Why do you always assume I want Chinese?”
            “Do I?” she asked, looking surprised. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean anything by it.” She put
the keys back in and started the car. “We’ll go have Italian.”
            “Actually,” George took off his seatbelt, “I’m in the mood for Chinese.”
            They looked at each other for a second before breaking into a laugh when she punched
him in the arm. He mouthed the word “Ow!” and feigned being in great pain.
            “You’re such a dork.” She checked her makeup in the mirror before getting out of the
car.
            “And you’re such a girl.”
            “Takes one to know one.” George laughed again and followed her into the restaurant.
        &;   Sam picked a seat by the window and refused the menus the waitress brought over.
Whenever they ate Chinese, she always let George pick something new for her to try. He ordered
for the both of them then sipped his tea while they waited.
            “So how have you been holding up?” He was referring to the issue involving her father.
            “Okay, I guess,” she answered, shrugging her shoulders. George raised an eyebrow at
her.
            “I didn’t say ‘great’ or even ‘fine’. I said okay.”
   &#        ̶u reu really should talk to him.”
            “And say what? ‘Gee, Dad, I get it now! You don’t think I’m your kid. That explains
you being a complete ass to me my entire life! I forgive you.” She rolled her eyes. “I don’t think
so.”
            He gave her another one of his smiles. “Glad to see you’re past the anger.”
            Sam narrowed her eyes at him. “Dr. Huang, did you invite me to lunch so you could
shrink me?”
            “No, dear,” he grabbed his napkin as the waitress brought over their meals, “I asked you
to lunch because I was hungry, and because I haven’t seen muc you you since you went all ga-ga
over your detective.”
            “Excuse me, but I have not.”
            “Whatever you say.&#;
