Chapter Six
Renee would later try to describe to herself what she had felt in
that moment. Startled, yes. Surprised,
most definitely. But anger and desire were the two main components. Anger at him for attacking her. Anger at herself for not
realizing sooner that he had been stalking her from the moment she had stepped
into the Medical Bay.
And desire, because the feel of his body against hers for the
first time since the Spa, sent shuddthrothrough to her soul.
What was this thing between them? It wasn’t the feeling of being
safe and secure that she had always imagined she would feel towards the one
that she would spend the rest of her life with. This was intense, and
frightening, and wild.
Especially now, Renee noted wryly, seeing as he could just as
easily want to kill her, than to screw her.
Renee had a sudden flash back to their first moment spent on the Mothership…
“You can reject it intellectually but you can't deny it.
You feel compulsion... on the cellular level.”
Renee raised her eyebrow at him. Hardly
able to believe the turn of this conversation. But granted, there was something to what he was saying, although she
would never admit it…
“Oh, that. Yeah, I do feel that. It's like a spider on my
tongue, I can barely resist the urge to spitRenee had another flashback to when Professor Simon Ruttledge had said something to her after uncovering Nahima’s 3 million year old fossil.
“It makes me wonder if Howlyn
used genetic material from Franciscus’ body to create
evolved humans.”
Renee had raised an eyebrow at that. “It would be ironic
if a celibate monk had been the source for the human gene pool.”
“And doubly ironic,” Simon theorized, “If Howlyn’s obsession with you sped up evolution. Or if
somehow, the obsession - was related to deja-vu.”
The comment had hit her hard, and Renee had thought more about
what the Professor had said to her that evening, then she cared to admit.
Renee came back to the present. She currently had about 200
hundred pounds of very pissed off Atavus on top of
her. Not exactly how she had had it in mind.
Howlyn’s
grip tightened to the point of pain on her twisted back forearm, and he hauled
her head back using her hair wrapped around his other wrist, to expose the
curve of her neck to him. Forcing her to remain in place.
Howlyn leaned
closer to her, intending to say something, when the smell of her pulse beckoned
to him. He tauntingly scraped his teeth over the pulse point below her ear.
Smiling as she flinched at the contact. Oh, how he had missed her fire!
Suddenly, he flipped her cleanly over on her back, his weight
settled firmly between her legs as he looked her straight in the eye. Amused at the anger burning bright there. She could say and
express what she wanted, but he knew better. He could feel the heat through her
clothing where her feminine core was pressed up against him. He could smell her
desire. Knew she remembered what it had been like for them back at that… “Health” Spa. He had always found it’s
title amusing.
He had spent every night since, trying to erase from his memory
the sound of her cries of ecstasy. The feel of her body
against his skin. The taste of her on his tongue… Not even Juda’s diversions had helped relieve the ache within him.
And he knew that that human male that Renee had hooked up with before his
death, hadn’t even come close to wiping the memory of his touch from her body
and soul.
He snarled silently at the thought of another touching her.
She sure seemed set on finding someone other than himself to try to mate
with, to try to ease that black fire that was only between the Atavus and their destined mates. Something that he hadn’t
thought a human would be able to experience.
But, what with Boone and then Michaels…Enough was enough. It was
time she got used to being only in his bed, where she belonged.
Renee felt his body press in on top of hers, and she barely
managed to stifle a moan. She felt that familiar desire that had haunted her
ever since the spa, stirring to life within her. Knew he could sense it...sense
her.
She knew it wouldn’t be long before he would also sense the
‘creation’ that had taken place the last time they had been together.
As if reading her thoughts, Howlyn
leaned in closer, inhaling her scent. He stilled suddenly, eyes going wide as
he picked up the flicker of Atavan/human life force
within her body. A hiss of realization escaped him as he looked down at her in shock.
An expression that he was getting all too well used to
wearing around her.
Next thing Renee knew, Howlyn had hauled
her back up to her feet, and had her back pressed against the wall. A hand
encircled her throat firmly but applying hardly any pressure. Renee’s eyes
flickered with anger as she swung her arm down on top of his, breaking his
hold. She planted her boot firmly in Howlyn’s chest,
shoving him back hard about 15 feet.
Howlyn remained
in a crouch, allowing her the space. A smile started to spread across his face.
He had chosen well when it came to her. No one haer ier inflamed him the way
she did.
Renee stood there watching him cautiously, breathing heavily.
Hands at her side, balled into fists. How many times had they stood like this?
Waiting for the other to make a move?
“You’re full of surprises, Howlyn.”
Renee remarked sarcastically. Watching him as one would watch a loosened tiger.
Howlyn
straightened slowly, smiling at her in a way that made Renee want to swipe his
face off. He cocked his head at her in that way of his, the tip of his tongue
caught between his teeth, as if deep in thought. A light hiss
escaping his throat. It was when he was like this, that Renee started to
get concerned. She had seen that expression too many times to not know that he
was up to something.
“So are you, it would seem.” Howlyn
became still and serious suddenly, all amusement fleeing from his darkened
countenance. Renee’s jaw tightened, knowing that he had seen her cards, and her
game was finished.
“How long have you known you were carrying my child?” Howlyn’s question came out in a hiss of anger. He could
feel his blood starting to heat. Did she not realize the danger she had placed
herself as well as his young in, by her games?
“A while now.” Renee answer was spoken through her clenched teeth. He was not
going to intimidate her! Her pistol lay more than twenty feet away, there was no possibility of getting to it. Renee then
remembered that she still have her energy knife hooked loosely at her waist,
just a few inches from her right hand.
Howlyn took a
sudden step forward, but was rewarded when she brought that blade of hers up
and released. The red from its glow casting eerie shadows across Renee’s
tightened face.
“And just what, pray tell, do you plan to do with that?” Howlyn asked in a tone that was almost bored. As if she was
some sort of naughty child that needed adult supervision.
“Oh, I don’t know,” Renee shot back coldly. “Maybe this time I’ll
cut off the other hand… I’m figuring that since
your regenerative abilities are suffering right now, it might take awhile
before you grow another one.”
Howlyn surprised
her by laughing. Renee’s eyes narrowed.
“You would do that to the one who fathered your child?” Howlyn asked amusingly. All the while
watched closely for a way in to her, without having to deal with that blade of
hers… rather nasty side effects.
“It would be a hell of a lot nicer than what you had Sandoval come
after me for!” Renee spat back, furious. She didn’t plan on forgetting that
stunt of his anytime soon. She really wanted to kill him for that!
“Oh that,” Howlyn shook is head
dismissively. “Do you really think that I would have told him he could have
you, if I hadn’t realized that you could kill him just as easily as you’ve been
killing Atavus and hybrids since the beginning of all
this?” Howlyn chuckled. “Oh no,
Renee. If I had wanted you dead, you would have been so a long time ago,
and we both know it.” Howlyn paused for a moment.
Letting those words register with her.
“Of course, if I had known you where carrying my offspring, I
would have come after you myself. But as it was, Sandoval was a pathetic
creature that had outlived his usefulness. Consider him… a present. Seeing as
how I knew you had been wanting the pleasure of
killing him for quite some time now.”
“It wouldn’t exactly call it a pleasure.” Renee growled back. She
hadn’t enjoyed killing Sandoval the way she would have thought, prior to
everything that she had already done leading up to his demise. She had seen and
done enough killing for two lifetimes.
“Call it what you what, it’s no matter. The point is…” Howlyn paused for a moment, observing her. “I knew he
couldn’t kill you.”
“How nice of you to have so much faith in me.” Renee retorted humorlessly. Howlyn
acknowledged her words, as if she had paid him a compliment.
“I would expect nothing less from you.”
Silence filled the room, as Howlyn
studied Renee. She swallowed reflexively. Hardly daring to
blink.
“Male or Female?”
Renee hadn’t been expecting that question. “What?”
“The child.” Howlyn glanced at her still flat
stomach. “Male of femalspanspan> I could ascertain
that for myself, but seeing as you won’t let me come closer to you…” Howlyn smirked at her. Almost enjoying
this. Almost.
Renee paused a moment. She didn’t know what to expect from him if
she told him. Atavus didn’t have a thing for killing
their offspring if it was a female, did they?
“It’s a girl.” Renee spoke haltingly. Not sure of his response.
Howlyn just
nodded. A daughter. Granted he would have preferred a
son, but a female with Renee’s spirit would make a welcome addition to the Atavus species.
They could work on a son later, after she was born…
“I don’t need to ask if she’s alright, seeing as how her life force
is almost as healthy as her mother’s.”
If that was supposed to be a compliment, Renee didn’t know what to
make of it.
“I also don’t need to ask what I’m doing back on board the Taelon Mothership.” Howlyn hissed at himself when he remembered Jaylis’s betrayal. If that traitor wasn’t already dead, Howlyn looked forward to ripping him apart, piece by piece…
“No, you don’t. Your Atavan ship has
been destroyed. The Taelon Mothership
is currently headed back to the Atavus homeworld to drop you and your species off permanently.”
Howlyn growled
threateningly at her words. Not at all happy with the change
of events.
“It’s over, Howlyn.” Renee glared back
at him. “You never could have won anyway. Despite your attempts, the hybrid
antidote wasn’t completely destroyed. It is currently being mass produced all
over the globe… It is estimated that within the year, all human hybrids will be
caught, cured, and released. All the ones onboard the Mothership
where relocated by Ra-jel, back on the surface where
they belong. You couldn’t win, Howlyn. Your species
was already weakened by remaining on Earth. If you had succeeded in remaining,
your species would have been destroyed. Don’t you see?” Renee was almost
pleading with him now to understand and acknowledge what she was saying. She
knew he didn’t want to hear it, but he had to. “The only way your species can
be saved and become strong again, is if you go home. You and the
remaining Atavus are all that is left of your kind,
and I’ve already watched the destruction of your two sub-species, to want to
see it again.”
Howlyn laughed
humorlessly, “This coming from the human that has done everything in her power
to destroy us!”
Renee tried not to wince at the sound of his yell echoing off the
walls of the Medical
Bay. “You forget, Howlyn,” Renee gritted her teeth in
agitation, “That it is my daughter’s survival I’m talking about too! And
it was also me, that had all of your brethren in
stasis on board your ship, moved to the Mothership
for safekeeping, until we reach your home world. So don’t start with me on who
has been trying to destroy who’s species!”
Howlyn hissed at
her in frustration. Everything that he had planned and waited for with Earth, had crumpled into dust between his fingers. Maybe
that Taelon had been right… Maybe what Renee was
telling him now was right, but that didn’t mean he had to be happy about it.
“What happened to Jaylis?” Howlyn asked her, taking a small step forward. He wasn’t
going to be too happy if he found out that traitorous male was in control.
“Dead.pan> I killed
him when he turned on Yulyn.” Renee answered
matter-of-factly.
Howlyn glanced at
her, eye ridge raised slightly at the statement. Case in
point.
“Then who, pray tell, is in control of the Atavus
on board?”
“Yulyn.”
Howlyn chuckled,
eyes rolling to the ceiling, as he took another step closer. “Yulyn! Should have known.
That boy is not capable of ruling the Atavus.” Not
yet anyway. Howlyn still remembered that last
confrontation with his son. Despite everything, he couldn’t kill his own flesh
and blood, any more than he could kill the woman standing across from him. Defying everything that he had originally planned for this conflict
against the humans. Even still, defiant against him.
“Oh, I don’t know.” Renee shot back. “He’s doing a pretty good job
for himself. If it wasn’t for him, your “Guardians” would still be on your
exploding ship and their pieces would be scattered all over the desert right
about now! He is one thing I can honestly say you’ve done right.”
Howlyn hissed
lightly at her in retaliation for the barb, before wryly admitting, “Other than
you, although I’m starting to wonder if that was such a good idea, in and of
itself.”
growled as
he leaned down to her, intending to claim those lips with his own. He could see
in his mind’s eye what it would be like to claim her again, here on that
strange lounge. Her underneath him as he watched her
expression as he moved within her. Eyes locked with hers as she climaxed
in his arms.
As his lips met hers with a fervor, he
felt himself harden. Sensed her own intensifying
arousal. This was the way it was among his kind who became life-bonded. The way
it would always be between them.
Renee had to check herself before allowing her body to take
control yet again. She had to do this. She had to. Even
her her body’s desire made her pay for it later.
Howlyn wasn’t
concerned when he felt Renee’s hands come slithering up his chest to encircle
the back of his neck, pressing him closer to her as he kissed her. His tongue wrapping and suckling upon hers. He drank of her
as most men drank of wine. It was a thirst that wouldn’t be satisfied any time
soon.
Renee’s body suddenly tensed, and Howlyn only had a spilt second to react, as she put that
infamous planning of hers to the test. Using all her strength
to suddenly flip him over. Taking advantage of his
off-balance position to knock her shoulder into his stomach. Taking the
force of his strength and using it against him, as she affectively twisted in
mid air to grasp his arm and guide his body into it. Flipping him over and
haphazardly onto the lounge where she had been sitting just a second before.
Howlyn
acknowledged briefly to himself that she was using strength that she had never
possessed before. Strength that wasn’t possible for a human female to exert
against an Atavus male. The oddity of that was
something he would study later. It was almost like… she had the strength of a
hybrid. Yet she wasn’t one.
Renee didn’t wait a split second more. She darted out of the
confinement pad she had led him into, and slammed the keys on the barely
noticeable console just a few feet away from the
lounge. A containment shield immediately fell intoce, as
Howlyn quickly
came to his feet. And stalked over to the screen.
Knowing he couldn’t get through it, but at least he would have the pleasure of
watching Renee back up nervously.
She didn’t. Instead she stood there. Eyes locked on his as she
fought to catch her breath. Desire was still beating at her body as she watched
the intensity of the emotiplayplaying across his face.

“I’m sorry, Howlyn. But I don’t have a
choice. I can’t risk you sabotaging this mission.”
Howlyn studied
her words. Some of his fury vanishing as a steel core of determination lit
within him. Let’s see how long she could keep this up. He saw the way her eyes
were heated. He could sense through her body language that her need of him was
screaming at her to let him out. To let him bury himself yet
again within her body.
Renee watched cautiously as Howlyn
pressed up close to her. Only a couple of inches and force field between them.
She imagined she could feel the heat from his body, even though that wasn’t
possible through the shield.
“We’ll see, Renee. It’s going to be a long trip home.” He snarled
lightly at her. A mocking laugh exiting his mouth as
he watched her jaw clench.
“We’ll see how long it takes before your body starts to call for
mine. How long it takes before your nights become too desperate without me
there beside you, before you give in and come back to me. Before
you free me.” Howlyn’s words caused tremors to
race down Renee’s spine as she slowly stepped away from the force field. Eyes
locked on him the whole time.
Howlyn became
serious as he watched the battle of emotion play across her face. “You can’t
fight it forever, Renee.” He spoke softly. Knowing she could hear him. “The
more my body takes yours, the more intense your desire will become. You won’t
be able to control it for very long. Not when your mind knows I’m not far away.
You can go back to your quarters. Back to your empty bed, and pretend that I’m
not more than just a few corridors away from you, but your body will sense my
closeness.” Howlyn’s facial structure darkened. Eyes glittering at her in promise.
“Wanting
me just as much as I want you.”
Renee knew she had five
seconds to get out of the Medical
Bay before her body
imploded in on her. The truth of his words echoed straight through to her core
as she turned and ran from the room. She exited
the Bay without so much as looking back, even though she could feel his eyes
burning like a brand against her back.
Howlyn
watched her leave, and silence surrounded him. He stepped away from the screen
and sat back down on the lounge. One booted foot resting up on the lounge as he
leaned back and closed his eyes.
And waited…
Chapter Eight
Renee hit the panel beside the exit from the Medical Bay. Making sure the panel slid firmly
into place. She set the lock using one of her access codes. She didn’t want
anyone to go in there just yet. And she didn’t want anyone coming out.
She leaned up against the wall and sighed. Resting her head back on the cold dark grayish blue paneling.
She could feel some of her muscles trembling from the adrenaline of her escape…
And her recent intercourse with Howlyn.
He knew just how to twist her up inside. Renee
acknowledged to herself. Shaking her head from side to side.
Her body was still aroused. Amazingly so, seeing as
how she had already been satisfied once in the last thirty minutes. She
couldn’t believe her response to him. Didn’t understand it.
Didn’t understand him, and not really sure she wanted to.
Was this the way it was going to be from here on out?
Was she never going to be able to get near him, without the desire to…?
Renee cut off that line of thought as she decided
that she needed to put as much space between herself and the Medical Bay
as possible. She headed towards the directions of her quarters. As soon as she
got there, she would contact Liam and explain to him what had happened.
Renee rubbed the back of her neck tiredly. Fine
blonde hairs gently clung to the surface of her skin and the fine layer of
moisture there. The ship was still warm even after being brought down a few
degrees to make it easier on the humans on board, while at the same time not
too cool for Yulyn.
But Renee didn’t really believe that that was the
reason why she felt so warm. It was like every nerve ending in her body kept
getting hotter and hotter. She knew that Howlyn hadn’t
been too far off the bat when he had said all those things to her in the Medical Bay. Some… connection had been formed
between them, and it main purpose was to inflame both of them.
It had haunted her dreams for days now, but this… this was
becoming more intense. It was like her body was taking Howlyn’s
words to heart.
“You
can’t fight it for, Rr, Renee. The more my body takes yours, the more intense
your desire will become. You won’t be able to control it for very long. Not
when your mind knows I’m not far away. You can go back to your quarters. Back
to your empty bed, and pretend that I’m not more than just a few corridors away
from you, but your body will sense my closeness. Wanting me
just as much as I want you.”
Renee groaned. Those words spoken in that silken tongue of his
haunted the inside of her mind. Her stubbornness flared to the surface.
She would not give in to him yet! She would keep him contained for
the next ten days even if it killed her!
Once they were safely on the Atavus
homeworld, then she’d figure out what to do. She knew
that seeing as how he knew about their baby, he wouldn’t let her leave the homeworld so easily. And while Renee found the idea of
remaining there daunting, she didn’t think she had much of a choice. Her
daughter deserved to grow up among her own kind, in a place where she could
survive without becoming some lab experiment, which is exactly what would
happen if Renee took her back home.
Renee sighed as she came to quarters. Punching
the keypad for admittance.
She had chosen one of the suites on board to remain
in. It had been one of the rooms where important Earth guests would stay at
when they came up to discuss heaven-knew-what kind of things with the Taelons. It had been one of the few rooms that the Atavus and Hybrids had apparently left alone.
It was fairly large, and well decorated. Taelon colors and textures, but made luxurious for a
human’s enjoyment. The bed was large and plush. Sheer silver curtains hung down
surrounding it. Giving it really the only feminine touch
within the whole room.
Despite the room’s comfort, it was fairly simplistic
once you got past the bed. Renee had placed her things from her apartment
rather haphazardly around the room, but was to tired
too worry with them now. She just wanted to take a shower, and then go to bed
for the next week or so. Even if she slept through the whole trip, it was fine
witr. Sr. She couldn’t even remember a time where she had had more than four or
five hours at a time.
But first… first she had to talk to Liam.
******
“You did what?!!”
Liam’s yell reverberated around Renee’s room, even
through the com-link. Renee jumped a little and glared back at him.
“You heard me. And keep your voice down.” Renee
continued to glare at him as she rubbed one of her ears. She rarely ever saw
Liam get very pissed off, but when he was….
To say that Liam was shocked would have been an understatement.
What Renee had done made absolutely no sense to him whatsoever. This had been
her enemy #1, and she had willingly brought his body on board. He
couldn’t understand what drove her to do that. Never mind the fact that there
was always the possibility of him regenerating enough to reawaken.
This species just didn’t seem to know when to stay dead.
“Renee. Just tell me why. Why would you take that
kind of a risk?”
Renee rolled her eyes and figured now was as good a
time as any to finally let him know the truth.
“Because I’m pregnant Liam.”
She voiced softly. Eyes closing so she couldn’t see his reaction.
There was dead silence on his end. To stunned for words.
Finally he spoke up. “You slept with him?”
Renee sighed and pushed her hand roughly through her
hair. “I can’t explain it to you, Liam. I don’t even understand it myself. Howlyn… pursued me from the beginning. I fought him. I
never stopped fighting him. The fact that he is currently locked up in the Medical Bay is prove of that. I just…” Renee
trailed off, unsure as to how to continue.
“You just lost control.” Liam finished. He let out a
sigh and nodded his head tiredly. “Then I guess we’ll just have to make our… “guest”…as comfortable as possible until we reach the Atavus Homeworld. And Renee?”
Renee met his gaze, her brow arched. Waiting for
whatever statement he was going to make next.
Liam smiled at her, trying to be sympathetic. “Try to
get some sleep. You look like hell.”
Renee let out the breath she had been holding in a
gust as she laughed back at him. Relieved. She smiled
her assent, before turning off the com-link.
******
After taking a shower to wash the scent of Howlyn’s body from her skin, she slid into one of her short
silk nightgowns and crawled wearily into the bed. Giving the
computer the command to turn the internal lights off. The light from the
stars whizzing by her window were light enough for her to see around her room.
Not that she was that interested in how much lighting
was in her room. The moment her head hit the pillow, she was asleep.
Too bad she hadn’t realized that her sleep wasn’t
going to be as peaceful as she had been hoping.
******
When Renee started suddenly awake
in the middle of the night, she felt a momentary surge of panic. Her body was
on fire. Her nightgown sticking to her skin almost
unbearably. She lay still with the sound of her heart beating in her
ears, as she tried to wrap her mind rather unsuccessfully around what she was
feeling. This was not the first time she had been awakened in the night by her
desire to be with Howlyn, but this time, the
intensity of her arousal was almost frightening.
She could feel the sheet beneath her skin. She found
herself rubbing her body along the material, wanting to feel every inch of her
skin touching it. She rolled seductively, stretched, came up on her hands and
knees to push her derriere up into the air. All the while she throbbed and
burned and nothing she did gave her any relief.
Yet the feeling persisted that her lover had arrived and he
waited for her. Wanted her. Was
desperate for her. The feeling was strong, overwhelming, as if she could
feel his savage hunger beating at her in her mind. His eyes
caressing every inch of her body.
Renee suddenly realized that not only was she feeling
the same hunger for Howlyn that she had for the last
couple of months, but she was actually now feeling his. Which was taking it to a whole different level. Driving her response to be rather primitive and nature. That
black fire between them was burning hard within her, and she couldn’t find
relief, no matter what she did.
Her hands unwittingly moved upwards over her ribcage
on the path she wanted him to take. She cupped the weight of her breasts in her
hands. Massaging. She needed to feel him touching her.
Her skin was hot and flushed, her body aching for release.
When she moved, it was a sensual flow of muscles and
curves incased in silk. Her hands following the lines of her
body. Her thighs felt smooth, her hips rounded. She ached for him to
come to her, to touch her skin and find every secret place on her body. Her
long hair fell across her like a silken cloak, strands sliding over her breasts
and back as she moved. Caressing shoulders and the surface of
her neck.
The sensation caused her body to clench tightly in
reaction, her blood to thicken and her breath to grow labored.
Renee turned her head into her pillow to stifle the
sob welling up. She didn’t know what he had done to her. She had no way of
fully understanding it. Humans just didn’t go through something like this… it
was human hormones times a thousand. She felt like fire was licking along her
flesh, and imagining it was Howlyn instead wasn’t
helping.
Renee knew that whatever she she had developed with Howlyn had now been fastened even firmer with their last
bout of lovemaking. She wasn’t going to find relief anywhere else but with him.
And only him.
&nbse ple place on her neck pulsed hard, unforgiving. She
wanted the feel of his teeth there. She wanted…
Renee started slightly when she heard Liam’s voice
call over the speaker in her room. Thankfully, he’s com-link was audio only.
“Y-Yes?” Renee gasped
slightly. Hoping that Liam wouldn’t be able to tell that
something was wrong. Her voice was hoarse and barely recognizable. She
briefly rubbed her hand over her face. Perspiration coated her body. She
soothed her hair back from her damp forehead as she shifted her weight on the
bed up to her hands as she sat up. Wincing slightly.
Wondering wha the the hell would have Liam contacting her
this late…
Renee had a sudden jolt of fear as her first thought
was that maybe Howlyn had gotten loose. But something
told her that she would have already figured that out long before Liam did.
That is, if Howlyn was going through anything like
what she was…
“Renee,
we’ve got trouble. I need you dressed and on the Command Deck as quickly as
possible.”
“What’s wr-” Renee’s
question was cut off when the ship suddenly jolted out of ID Space. A sharp
blast hit the side of the ship hard, and cleanly knocked Renee off the bed. She
landed hard. Smacking the breath from her body, as she saw flashes of what
appeared to be weapons fire lighting up outside her window. The whole side of
the ship seemed to grumble at the interference.
“Who the hell is shooting at us,
Liam?!” Renee yelled out, pushing herself back up to her feet. Swaying slightly in an attempt to seek her balance as the Mothership rocked violently some more. She made a
grab for a pair of her clothes. Throwing on the pair of pants she had been
wearing before, and grapping her black spaghetti top
and throwing it on. Knowing it was somewhat cleaner than the last bit clotclothing she had been wearing. Looking around desperately for
her boots.
“Jaridians, Renee! We seem
to have stumbled into a Jaridian ship. I’m trying to
hail them, but they aren’t exactly listening at the moment!”
“Jaridians,
of course.” Renee muttered. Pulling on her boots as
she walked towards the exit of her room.
“Hang on, Liam! I’m on my way!” Renee shouted once
before racing out of her room. Her past ‘discomfort’ forgotten as the familiar
battle adrenaline took over, and she once again felt her blood start to heat.
Only this time, from being one very pissed off human female mother to be.
This day would just never end, would it?
