AN: Here is chapter 2! Thanks for all your reviews and even to Silent
Shadow who didn’t like the story. I’m sorry you didn’t like it and I’m sorry for
the Cestria and Tideus bashing. But it had a purpose for the story. In the
last chapter you read Billy’s point of view and account of what had
happened. But things are not always what they seem. Can’t say anymore
than that or I would spoil the story. Enjoy and please review!
Captive
Chapter 2
Zedd’s POV
For centuries, I have conquered and pillaged planet after planet. Teams of
rangers rose against me, but to no avail. My monsters and henchmen
slaughtered them. Those were glorious days. After their rangers were
gone, the planets fell easily to me. I enslaved the people and annexed the
new property into my ever growing Xett Empire. Then one day, I received
word from my top general, Goldar, that Rita was continuously failing in her
task to conquer Earth. He secretly reported that a team of power rangers
from the backwater planet had defeated every monster she threw at them.
And the thing that enraged me most was that they were just teenagers! I
immediately headed for Earth to do the job myself and deliver punishment
to Rita for failing me. I arrived and as expected, Rita groveled at my feet. I
would hear none of it and quickly had her sealed in the dumpster and cast
out into the vast reaches of space. I wasted no time in sending my Z
putties down to take care of those children. To my surprise, those mere
children discovered how to defeat my superior putties rather quickly. That
didn’t worry me too much, perhaps they were more formidable that I had
originally thought, but that would not matter once they came in contact with
one of my monsters. And that was the day of my first defeat. Thanks to that
blasted brainy blue ranger and his stupid signal disruptor no less. After
they defeated me that day, I decided to throw everything at them until they
were done in. And I did, quickly learning that their pitiful, weak emotions
were a quivering weakness. But I also learned their emotions were in fact a
source of strength and drive for them as well. These humans, especially
teenagers, were so infuriating. As a rather low blow, I finished off Tommy’s
powers. It was splendid watching those sickening goody goodies be
miserable because of their dear friend’s power loss. But of course, Tommy
bounced back and took on the guise of the white ranger and became even
more powerful! But soon, I saw hope when I learned that Jason, Zack, and
Trini would be passing on the powers to three rookies. An inexperienced
team is just what I needed. But even then, they ruined my every plan. With
Tommy as their leader and Billy as his second in command, as well as
strong backbone of the team, they were unbeatable. Since coming to
Earth’s moon, I had come to hate them both with a heated passion.
Tommy seemed unbeatable. And just when I thought I could defeat him,
that brainy brat stepped in and ruined everything. I was always certain that
if I could get rid of Billy and Tommy, I could defeat the others. Not even
Rita and I together could defeat them, nor could Master Vile. Unfortunately,
Rita and I were soon forced out of our palace by the Machine Empire. The
teens were now the zeo rangers and Billy was behind the scenes helping
the rangers dismantle King Mondo’s idiot machines. But the zeo days were
very interesting for Rita and I. We were not in control anymore and those
stupid rangers had made a mockery out of the empire that I had built. I was
a laughing stock and I vowed that the rangers would pay, starting with Billy
and Tommy most of all. The Zeo era brought forth many opportunities for
us to plan and begin to enact our revenge. It was with great enjoyment that
Rita and I watched Kimberly’s letter rip Tommy’s heart to shreds. Now, I
know what you are thinking, but Rita and I did NOT orchestrate the letter.
But that didn’t mean that we wouldn’t use this in our future revenge. Then
there was Billy. It was poetic justice when we witnessed one of that brat’s
own devices nearly kill him with its side effects. And if that wasn’t enough,
we learned of Billy’s love for Katherine. As revenge on him, Rita and I are
going to make sure he never leaves Aquitar…
Delphine’s POV
I enter my quarters and begin my verbal recount of the days events to my
computer. I am still analyzing Cestria and Tideus’ strange behavior over
the past year. It is true that Cestro, Aurico and I suspect that an evil force
is at work here, though we are unsure as to whom it could be and why the
wish to keep William here. The other Aquitian rangers and I are the only
ones that know that Billy is here against his will. We have managed to
keep that information under wraps for some time now, which in itself has
been a miracle. The Aquitian people and king only know that Billy is living
here. We have kept him isolated from them and when they ask, we tell
them that he is hard at work. Cestria is also doing an excellent job of
keeping the real reason Billy is here a secret. I believe that this could be
part of the spell, for it people knew, they would grow suspicious as we
have. I’m afraid that the king does not question Cestria much. It is true that
he mostly lets her do what she wants, but that is because he trusts her
good judgement. We all have in the past, as we’ve had no reason not to. I
know that Cestria was quite taken with William, but she knows that it would
be impossible for a relationship to work for them. Cestria and Billy are
incompatible and could never produce any children, which I know the King
would have a problem with. Plus William is hopelessly in love with
Katherine, which is why he has been so angry. I don’t think he has realized
that a darker force could be at work here, but his position is not letting him
be objective. The Astro rangers will soon be receiving my message and
once Billy’s friends come for him, I believe we will finally know the truth.
Billy’s POV
I smiled and tucked the small communicator away. I have just sent my
message to the Astro rangers and they should be receiving it soon. I asked
them to contact my friends and provide transport for them to Aquitar. I
picked six of my friends to contact. As I sit here and ponder my situation
yet again, I wonder where things have gone so wrong. I’ll admit the other
day I was angry and blaming Cestria seemed the most logical thing to do.
However, I have never understood she and Tideus’ swift change in
attitude. Don’t get me wrong, I may be mad at Cestria, but I don’t hate her.
She did save my life after all. I have been starting to wonder if there is a
darker force behind my captivity, but then I wonder if I am thinking too
much into this also. I’m so anxious that I can hardly sit still, mostly because
I know my friends will soon be receiving the message and I will soon be
seeing Katherine. I think of her constantly and some of the thoughts would
be deemed of the improper nature. I am more determined than ever to tell
her how I feel and I can only hope that she will feel the same way.
The Astro Megaship:
This is an urgent message from Aquitar. My name is Billy Cranston and I
was the first blue ranger of earth. Nearly a year ago, a fabricated message
was sent to the zeo rangers supposedly from me saying that I would be
remaining on Aquitar indefinitely. This was a lie and I am being held
against my will. I used to believe that the Aquitians just turned on me, but
recently I have been seeing signs that there may be an evil spell at work
here, though I have no evidence of that. I am asking you to contact six of
my friends and provide them with the means to come after me. Once they
learn of my situation, they will be more than willing to come. Please contact
Jason Lee Scott, Trini Kwan, Zack Taylor, Kimberly Hart, Tommy Oliver
and Katherine Hillard. I must end the transmission now so it is not
discovered. Thank you rangers.
“Oh my gosh,” Ashley uttered.
“I know that Katherine is still in Angel Grove, but I have no idea where the
others are,” Cassie said.
“Katherine or some of the others might know. Let’s go,” Carlos said.
“Right,” Andros said, as they returned to the earth’s surface.

It was a chilly February evening in Angel Grove. Tanya and Adam had
come over for dinner. Now, we were sipping hot chocolate and talking. As
usual, we mostly talked about old times. I remember when we used to have
evenings like this when Billy was still here. I used to love listening to Billy
and Tommy’s stories about their early ranger days.
“Earth to Kat. Come back from Aquitar,” Tanya said. My daze was broken
and I was probably red as a tomato.
“Sorry guys,” I apologized. Adam gave me a sympathetic gaze.
“We understand,” Adam told me.
“We do, but I hate seeing you so unhappy. Don’t you think it’s time to move
on Kat?” Tanya reasoned. I frowned, but was starting to believe that she
had a point. Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. I slid the loft door
open and was startled to see Cassie and the other Astro rangers.
“Cassie, what are you doing here?” I asked.
“We gave something urgent to talk to you about,” Cassie said. Kat nodded
and stepped aside for them.

“This is Andros and Zhane, the red and silver rangers. Guys, this is
Katherine, Adam and Tanya,” Ashley introduced.
“It’s a pleasure to meet you. Earlier this afternoon, we received a message
from Aquitar that you need to hear,” Andros said.
“From Aquitar?” Kat asked.
“Yes, from Billy Cranston,” Andros replied.
I thought I was going to faint. Questions began to swim in my head. Is he
coming home? Is he okay? Is he in trouble? I took a deep breath and felt
Tanya’s hand on my shoulder, as Andros began to play the message.
This is an urgent message from Aquitar. My name is Billy Cranston and I

“We came to you first, because we knew you were still in Angel Grove. Do
you know where the others are?” T.J. asked.
“Um...Tommy’s attending a college in Los Angeles. Kimberly is in Miami,
we’ve kept in touch. Kimberly and Tommy will both know where Jason,
Zack and Trini are,” I answered, as I continued to process Billy’s message.
“Good, we can get Tommy first. This qualifies as ranger business, so we’ll
use teleportation. Can you leave tonight?” Andros asked.
“Of course!” I nearly yelled, as I ran upstairs to pack a small bag. This was
my chance! Billy never wanted to stay on Aquitar and he wants me to come
with the others! I can finally tell him how I feel and maybe...just maybe we
have a future together. I quickly packed my things and gave Tanya and
Adam hugs. They wished us luck and we promised to contract them once
we had Billy with us. Tanya and Adam promised to lock up my place as
they let themselves out.
“Hey Ad?” Tanya asked.
“Yeah?” he replied.
“Jason, Zack, Trini, Kim, Billy and Tommy were the original rangers, right?”
she asked. Adam nodded in the affirmative.
“Well, do you think the fact that Billy wanted Kat to come means anything?”
she asked. Adam gave her one of his dazzling smiles.
“I have a good feeling that it does,” he replied, as they locked Kat’s door
and left for their own apartment.

It didn’t take long for us find Tommy once we were on the campus. We
were invited into his dorm room where we played the message for him. I
waited anxiously for Tommy’s reaction.
“So will you come with us?” I asked in hope.
“There’s no question. No one messes with one of my friends and gets
away with it. And I think Billy’s suspicion of a darker force behind this
makes sense,” Tommy said.
“Who do you think would do something like this to Billy?” Kat asked.
Tommy looked at me and I immediately knew who he thought it was. The
same pair that had always been responsible for evil spells. I said nothing,
as Tommy continued.
“Jason, Zack and Trini attend the university in Geneva, so we should get
Kimberly first and then head to Geneva,” Tommy said. Andros nodded and
we teleported to Miami.

AN: Hope you liked it! I know I led on that Cestria was the real culprit, but
now you’re probably not so sure. In the next chapter, the other former
rangers are gathered. Tommy and Kim see each other for the first time
since Muranthias and the group arrives on Aquitar. Thanks for reading and
