Cassie DiMera sat on her bed in deep thought, it had been four days since she'd sent off that letter to Rex. An Rex had yet to respond to it, in any shape or form. Cassie was at a lose as to what her next move should be.
Looking back over the years
Of all the things
I've always meant to say
Ever since the night their "father" had come walking back into town. Things had been changed for good, Rex had felt town so fast a person would think he'd had rockets on his feet. Not that she blamed him for that, hell Cassie had been ready to bolt an never been seen form again.
But words didn't come easily
So many times through empty fears
Of all of the nights I tried
To pick up the phone
So scared of who might be answering
Cassie wasn't willing to let Tony back in eiather, too much water had gone over the fucking bridge. So to speak for Cassie to even think about it. Still that didn't mean that she didn't at times feel the need to hug him. Cassie had taken this as a sign that she still loved her father. But that didn't mean she was going to stay in Salem.
You try to live your life
From day to day
But seeing you across the room tonight
Just gives me away
Give him time to try an work his way back into her life. That was just a foolish thing, an Cassie was no fool. That was until she had seen poor Mimi's face, after Rex had run out on her. It had been a chance meeting at Alice's that had kept Cassie form leaving town. Mimi had been staring into a full bottle of vodica which Cassie had latter learned Mimi had snatched.
Cause the heart won't lie
Sometimes life gets in the way
But there's one thing that won't change
I know I've tried
The heart won't lie
You can live your alibi
Who can see you're lost
Inside a foolish disguise
The heart won't lie
Cassie in her short life had never seen anyone look so depressed. Something inside Cassie had demanded that she take action an see if she couldn't help. The two had spent the rest of the night together an slowly; but surely Cassie had gotten the whole story out of her.
Long after tonight
Will you still hear my voice
Through the radio
Old desires make us act carelessly
Long after tonight
After the fire
Cassie had been taken aback by it all. Mimi had waited as if she expected Cassie to let her have it. Cassie had justed pulled her into a hug an let her cry. Mimi had asked her why, an Cassie had told her that Mimi's only real crime was that she loved Rex too much.
After the scattered ashes fly
Through the four winds blown and gone
Will you come back to me
You try to live your life
From day to day
But seeing you across the room tonight
Just gives me away
Cassie had made sure Mimi had gotten home an into bed. Then taken pen to papper an sent off a letter to her twin. Now all she could do was wait a bit an see how things played out. But Cassie did know one thing, Rex was going to find his way back into Mimi's life. One way or another Cassie would see the both of them happy.
'Cause the heart won't lie
Sometimes life gets in the way
But there's one thing that won't change
I know I've tried
The heart won't lie
You can live your alibi
Who can see you're lost
Inside a foolish disguise
The heart won't lie
