�Oh my gawd!� Madison shivered, as she cuddled into Nick�s arms. �I thank you for saving our asses back there Xander. But that was one experience I hope to never relive again.�
�I second that.� Vida muttered, as she continued through the snow, with her arms wrapped around her waist.
�You know we could�ve avoided all of this if you guys would�ve just agreed to my idea.� Xander grinned mischievously. It was the first time anyone other than himself has ever ridden inside the root of a tree. He calls it the �Oak Express� He has a few favorite trees close to Root Core, and because of his power over the earth he�s had a sort of connection with them. He can talk to them, he spends some off his time reclining in the branches day after day just working on spells and other things. And for obvious reasons the trees have grown adept to his power, among other things. Even pixies have taken homage in one of the three. When he saw that he told Vida about it. For some reason she snapped at him, but then he had to practically drag her to see them. The little people obviously fell in love with her.
�That was the most outrageous ride I�d ever been on. Hey Xander, isn�t that one of your trees outside of Root Core?� Chip asked excitedly.
�They�re not mine, but yeah. Spectacular isn�t it?� Xander grinned. �They have the strongest roots, so it made the ride easy on us.�
�Easy? Xander my whole body is cramping up from the cold.� Vida complained.
�Well excuse me Mary Poppins. But if you haven�t noticed it about 40 degrees up here, and thanks to you, we�re in the middle of a snowstorm which I believe was not in the forecast this morning. And you expect this mountain to be all warm and cozy, covered with snow?� Xander snapped, now she was just pissing him off.

�Are you sure we don�t need to thaw your brain out, also?�
�Shhhhhhh�.shut up!!� Vida snapped, as she shivered harshly.
�Ok, ok! Just stop it you two. Use your energy and focus on the hike. The cabins shouldn�t be to far from here.� Nick shouted.
�No problem.� Xander answered as he turned around to take one last look at the full grown oak tree that had transported all of them to the top of the mountain. It was bare of leaves, and soon would be covered in snow. Whispering his thanks he began the hike to the cabins.
Xander felt rejuvenated, he was no longer cold after doing that spell, ironically he made his way to the front of the line, Chip was Chipper as ever asking him to tell him the basics of the spell, and how often he could do it. Madison and Nick was off in they�re own world, obviously Nick was keeping the both of them warm. While Vida walked in silence behind everyone.
Vida felt drained, she�s always knew she never cared about winter or snow. But she just wanted to try something new for a change. And at the beginning it was very exciting. Skiing and snowboarding off the slopes gave her an extreme rush. Even if she didn�t know what she was doing at first.

Looking up in front of her she heard Xander laugh out loud with Chip, and tossed some snow at the blonde. She felt her cold lips smirk, and then sigh at remembering how at ease Xander was at snowboarding. He grew up in Australia, and he rides the slopes like a pro! Boasting about skateboarding and snowboarding are the same thing. Yeah right!� Right?

He sure laughed his ass off when she lost her balance and her snowboard slipped out from under her. She wanted to give him a right hook. But surprisingly, he rushed over to help her, even though she snapped at him, he continued to help her and show how to handle the board right. When he was done, Vida never lost her balance again. She fell, but not as badly as the first time. He�d even go down the slope beside her in a mock race, even though she went as slow as molasses.

But she knew she was in for it when they reached the cabins, her lashing out on him was ridiculous even she admitted that to herself. Xander will always be Xander.

But she felt her cheeks warm up when she remembered the way his body was basically molded into hers when they were stuck at the side of the mountain. It felt as if she could feel the heat from his body beneath all the clothing.
�Stop it V!� Vida scolded herself. �Why is it whenever he�s close to me I either bite his head off, or feel like my body running a fever? *sigh* I hate the cold!�
�Hey sis! You say something?� Madison called out over her shoulder.
�No!� Vida shouted back. �Other than I�m going to turn into an ice cube if we don�t get to the cabins quick!�

She whispered the last part.
15 minutes later they found a trail that lead back to the spot where the cabins were.
�Wow, there�s only one here.� Chip said cheekily.
�Naw, the map back there says there�s another cabin over there behind the trees.� Nick explained.
�And five others.� Madison added. �How quaint.�
�*snort* How quaint huh? You could get lost looking for five cabins in this wilderness!� Xander snarked.
�Well then it�s a good thing you can talk to trees, Xander. Then you�ll never be lost.� Vida snickered.
�Ah, how true it is my wee fairy. You all would be lost without me.� Xander smirked for a minute, but when he got a glance at Vida his face fell. �V! Your all blue woman!�
�Huh?� she croaked, as he stared at her face like she sprouted horns.
�Whoa! Now that�s awesome. Didn�t know you could do that, V.� Chip laughed.
�Oh my gawd!� Madison shrieked as she grabbed her sisters arm. �We need to get her inside quick!�
30 minutes later~
�Now you must admit, that-�
�Yeah, yeah, yeah, we would�ve avoided all of this if we would�ve went to Palm Springs. Please cut the broken record act Xander!� Vida puffed as she laid back on the pillow, that was in a huge pallet on the floor in the living in front of the fire place.
�I was just saying-�
�Xander!� Vida whined as she felt him put a wet rag over her forehead.
The inside of the cabins were neat and well kept, and Chip gleefully informed everyone that they never needed to climb the mountain, there was a hiking trail that lead through the forest, and most likely down the mountain, and there were signs just about everywhere. And because the cold weather doesn�t fair well for most Sprites or Fairies, Vida�s powers have short circuited. She was basically turning into a popsicle. But that wasn�t the worst part, now she�s in a warmer environment everything�s coming back full force. And her body is taking the blunt of it, and is over-heating.
�Aw, V.� Xander sighed. �I wasn�t taunting ya you know. Everyone knows the winter frost is dangerous towards the little people.�
�I�m not one of them.� Vida puffed.
�You�re a human-sized one. Our powers are apart of us, and they�re not going away. We�ve got to work on your limitations.� Xander scolded lightly.
�We?� Vida asked.
�Well�yeah. Who else is gonna keep you warm tonight? The fire isn�t enough, and the generators can�t keep the whole cabin warm. And you need body heat.� Xander grinned lecherously.
�You�ve got to be kidding me!� Vida snapped.
�Well, I might�ve been offended by that remark. But I feel so damned good after working that spell. But since you oppose the idea, I can always get chip to bunk with you tonight.� Xander proposed.
�That�s ok.� Vida said quickly without a second thought. Their cabin had two bedrooms, one bathroom, and small kitchen. Nick made Xander stay with Vida in this cabin, Chip had wanted to stay since he was worried about Vida, but Nick hauled him out of the cabin without a look back, saying that he�d see them the next day.
�Well then your fresh out of candidates. Unless you want Nick, he�d be perfect for this kind of thing, but I think your sister wouldn�t take to kindly to the two of you being so�close.� Xander winked.
�This has got to be the worst vacation ever!� Vida growled as she laid back down on the pillow.
�Well, I did tell you so.� Xander replied chuckling as he pulled off sweater and his shirt that was under it. �But it�s not so bad.�
�Your joking right?� Vida asked as she watched the shadows of the ceiling dance, and her body start to flush with heat. �Sounds like your changing your tune.�
�Naw, I just thought about all the things we�ve done along this vacation. It�s been great! We�ve had loads of fun.� Xander admitted. It was true he did have a lot of fun. Even with Vida�s snappy, troll like attitude.
�Hah! So you admit it! My idea was better!� Vida grinned as she turned to face Xander. �What are you doing?!�
�I didn�t admit anything, but having a good time.� Xander grinned happily as he pulled his belt buckle, popped the button on his pants and began to pull them down. �And you need body heat, you can�t get body heat through my clothes.�
Vida was dumbstruck at what she saw, Xander�s naked chest which was glazed with hair, his chiseled abs, dark green boxers covering his unmentionables and toned long hairy legs. Vida shuddered at his legs, and felt another wave of heat pass through her body, she felt so hot and quickly sat up and pushed the layers of blankets off of her.

�Um�uhhh�uh, ok no!� Vida babbled as a invisible cold wind blew against her body.
Xander lifted an eyebrow and chuckled at her indecision. �That�s odd, I thought she�d get all warrior princess on me. Heh, she�s even blushing.� He thought.
�Aw V, and here I thought you were attracted to me.� He teased as he looked down at her pink tank top, as her nipples harden through the fabric. Madison had taken all her clothes off and left her in her underwear after she fed her some canned soup they brought with them.
�Xander put your clothes back on.� Vida puffed as she pushed a hand through her hair. �Damn�didn�t know this cabin was so cold!�
Xander gasped as he saw her face start to change color again.
