Chapter 2
Ariana was brought out of reading her book by Ted jumping up and running to the door. She put her book down on the table in front of her and got up. She walked over to the door and looked out the window and saw a helicopter that she didn’t recognize landing on the deck. She slowly backed away from the door. She then turned and ran up the stairs and hid under her uncle’s bed. She knew something bad was going to happen. She was scared because she had nowhere to go. While she was ranting inside her head about what was going on, she heard the door open and Ted run out the door. She held her breath hoping that whoever just walked into the cabin didn’t find her. “Are you sure she’s here, Jonathan?” she heard a man ask. “She should be. I didn’t see her at the hanger with the others,” the one called Jonathan replied. The two men began to search the cabin for Ariana. She could hear them throwing things around. She very quietly came out from under the bed and crawled over to the railing and looked over it. She could see the two men down below her. ‘This may be harder than I thought,’ she thought to herself as she once again looked for a way to get out of the cabin and into the wilderness around the cabin without being seen. She very carefully and quietly descended the stairs. She stopped and hid whenever she saw one of them turn and look in her direction. When she saw that they were looking in the other direction, she made a run towards the door hoping to make it outside. Just as she reached the door a bullet whizzed by her head and landed in the door. She stopped, her hand just inches from the doorknob. “Now where do you think you are going, my dear?” Jonathan asked her as he slowly approached. Ariana kept her back to Jonathan as she smiled to herself. She turned around and looked at him as she began to make signs with her hands, hoping to convince them that she was deaf. Jonathan smiled at her as he grabbed her right wrist and held it tightly. “You ain’t fooling me, girl. I heard you talking on the radio earlier today to your uncle,” he said to her as he pulled her away from the door. Jonathan made Ariana sit down in a chair as he called to his partner over his shoulder. “Hey, Dave, come keep an eye on her.” She kept her eye on Jonathan and noticed that his hair was short and light brown. She also noticed that he was wearing hiking boots, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt, with a brown jacket on. His brown eyes matched his hair. She scowled up at Jonathan as Dave walked over to him. Dave was pretty much dressed the same as Jonathan except his hair was black and his were a lighter green than her eyes. “What do you guys want?” she asked with a hint of worry in her voice. Dave leaned down and gently rubbed his hand up her leg in a wanting manner. It was making Ariana nervous. She gently and politely pushed Dave’s hand away from her leg. “We want Airwolf,” Dave said not realizing what he was saying. Ariana smiled as she got up out of the chair and walked over to the bar and stood behind it. She knew where her uncle kept the loaded pistol so she could defend herself. “You’ll never get the Lady,” Ariana shouted as she reached under the bar for the gun. She pulled the gun out and pointed it at both men. “Uncle String and Uncle Dom won’t hand the Lady over to you. They aren’t that stupid.” She then started to make her way over to where the radio was at. Her only option and hope was to try and get ahold of someone at Santini Air. Jonathan caught on to what she was doing and grabbed her before she could reach the radio. He pulled her into his chest and took the gun away from her. “That is where you come in, Ariana. Your uncle will do anything to get you back safe and sound. And that includes handing Airwolf over to us,” he whispered in her ear. Ariana fought with Jonathan’s hold on her. She elbowed him in the ribs and ran over to the radio. She had just enough time to get her short mayday out to anyone who could hear it. “Mayday, mayday. Uncle String, if you can hear me, HELP!!!” she yelled into the mike before Dave hit her in the back of the head with the butt of his gun. She fell to the floor unconscious. Dave leaned down and picked her up in his arms and turned to look at Jonathan. “Think anyone heard that?” he asked worriedly. Jonathan smiled as he walked towards the door. “Yeah someone had to have heard it. Let’s just hope that the right person heard it,” he said as he held the door open for Dave as they walked out with Ariana. They headed back to their chopper. Dave dropped Ariana in the back of the chopper before climbing in the front beside Jonathan. Once both men were seated, Jonathan started the chopper and they flew off from the cabin. **meanwhile** String and Dom had Airwolf up in the air and were heading towards the Soviet Union. Dom was keeping an eye on how Airwolf was running from the seat behind String. He was scanning the radio frequencies when he picked one up that he recognized. “Hey, String, you should hear this,” Dom said as he played the message over Airwolf’s speakers. “Mayday, mayday. Uncle String, if you can hear me, HELP!!!” they both heard before the radio went quiet. A scowl appeared on String’s face when he heard Ariana’s plea for help. Now he knew that he should have had her come with them. He then glanced over his shoulder at Dom. “Radio Caitlin and have her fly out to the cabin to check on Ariana. I have this bad feeling,” String said as he continued on their present course. Dom did as String had asked. He radioed the hanger and asked Caitlin to do what String wanted. “She’s on her way, String. She said she would let us know what she finds.” String nodded his head. He was just hoping that his niece was alright. She was the only thing he had that was a part of his brother. ‘Please be okay, ‘riana,’ he thought to himself. **with Ariana** As Ariana started to come to, she found out that she was tied to a bed. She tried to pull her wrists free from their bindings until she heard the door open. She looked over at the door as best as she could. She saw a man with black hair walking towards her. She started to shrink deeper into the bed. She didn’t like the look that this man was giving her. “Who are you?” she asked fearfully. The man sat down on the edge of the bed and gently ran his fingers down her cheek. He smiled as he watched Ariana pull her face away from his hand. “My name is Garrett. And you will get me Airwolf from your uncle,” he said as he once again ran his fingers down her cheek. Ariana pulled away from Garrett once again and sat up as best as she could. There was no way that she was going to give Airwolf to this man. She spat in Garrett’s face as she said, “ You can go to hell. My uncle will destroy Airwolf before he hands her over to you,” Garrett laughed slightly as he wiped her spit from his cheek. He then reached out and backhanded her. He wasn’t about to put up with her mouth. He found a piece of cloth that he could use to keep her quiet until he needed her to talk. He took the cloth and stuck it in her mouth and then tied it behind her neck. “You will do as I say, Ariana,” he said as he got up from the bed and walked out of the room closing the door behind him. Ariana fell back onto the bed and started to cry. She didn’t want to betray her uncle and she didn’t want him or Dom hurt in the process of getting her back. She just lay on the bed and stared up at the ceiling. The only thing that she could do was give into whatever they wanted of her and hoped that no one she cared about gets hurt. She was about ready to fall asleep when she heard the door open and saw Garrett walk back into the room. “So have you made up your mind yet?” he asked her. Ariana looked up at him and slowly nodded her head. She really didn’t want to betray her uncle but she no other choice if she wanted to live through all this. She just hoped that her uncle and Dom would forgive her for what she was about to do. She watched as Garrett leaned down and removed her gag. “I will do whatever you want me to do but please don’t hurt my uncle. Him and Dominic are the only family I have left,” she said just above a whisper. Garrett nodded his head as he reached up and untied her wrists. “I am releasing your wrists so you can sleep more comfortably. But if you try to escape, I will have to take more drastic measures with you that you won’t like,” he whispered in her ear. Ariana shivered when she heard what Garrett had just told her. She didn’t want to be hurt. “I won’t escape. I promise,” she said quietly as she watched him get up and leave the room, hearing the door become locked. She rolled over on her left side and cried until she fell asleep. “Help me, Uncle String,” she whispered in her sleep. **meanwhile** After Caitlin had talked to Dom on the radio, she flew one of the Santini Air choppers out to String’s cabin to check on Ariana. When she got there, she landed on the dock and walked up to the cabin. She noticed the front door was wide open as she got closer. She pulled out her gun and slowly approached the opened door. She slowly walked into the cabin and looked around. “Ariana,” she called out hoping to get an answer from the teenager. She noticed the inside of the cabin was a mess. She saw the mike to the radio lying on the floor. She walked over to it and picked it up. “String. Dom,” she called over the radio. “What is it, Caitlin?” she heard String reply back. Caitlin sighed before she responded back to String. She was running it through her mind on how she was going to tell him that Ariana was missing. “Ariana is gone, String,” she replied back. “I’ve looked throughout the whole cabin and I can’t find her.” **in Airwolf** String didn’t take the news that his niece was missing too well. He needed to get back and look for her before it became too late. “We’re heading back, Dom,” he said angrily and worriedly. “String, we can’t. We have to do this for Michael,” Dom said back trying to get String to see reason. “Ariana can take of herself and not let anything happen.” String didn’t listen to what Dom had to say. He quickly turned Airwolf around and headed back to the lair. Michael will just have to understand that his niece’s safety came first. “Dom, contact Archangel and let him know that we are heading back to find Ariana and then we will do the mission,” he said as he hit the turbos. Dom did as String had asked. He contacted Michael and told him what was going on. Needless to say, Michael wasn’t too happy about them coming back. But he did offer to help in any way that he could. Dom relayed to String that Michael was offering his help and that he would meet them at the Santini Air hanger. “I’m coming, Ariana,” String whispered to himself as they continued back to the lair. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
