Zila stilled for a millisecond, but a moment even that small didn't go undetected by the searching vampire. His eyes narrowed.
" What would give you the idea that I'm anything more then a demon?" She countered.
"You smell different, and not unlike another intriguing lady I've become acquainted with recently, also the demons I've come into contact with smell... Unappealing. You smell very appealing, would you like to tell me why?"
"And why would I do that? I may be working for you but that doesn't give the right to question me about the way I smell. You're prying and it's pissing me off, it's not like you're doing me a favor, if anything it's the other way around. I want nothing else out of this transaction then to do it and be done. Do you think that's possible?"
"You're very defensive for someone that's going on like they have nothing to hide, but for now I'll leave it be, but make no mistake I plan to bring this up again." And with that he sat down on his pedestal not even bothering to explain what she would be expected to do. What a stand up boss.
Not long after their talk the place became packed full of vampire wannabes and lovers, and surprisingly a few vampires. The air stank of booze and cheap perfume and lust. So essentially like ever other bar. But luckily the drink orders were easy, just a few bloody Mary's, vodka straights, and trueblood. Seems no one really wanted to chat with a non vampire bartender, which suited her perfectly because she didn't really want to talk to them. Before long everyone had left and Zila was getting ready to go when a woman stopped her. Telling her that her name was holly and Eric wanted a word with her. A great end to a great fucking day she thought bitterly.
