Her white orbed gaze beheld her surroundings with the detached observation of one analyzing data for a research project. It appeared her eyesight was changing back and forth, as just moments before in Eric's office; she could almost be certain her eyes had been green (from the glow they had cast). Somehow it wasn't as puzzling to her as this club of Eric's.
There were so many droll and stinking carcasses in this place, she cringed. All the senses she'd come to rely on her whole life when a human herself, were intensified tenfold making her sick. For instance, to anyone else maybe, that guy in the center of a bunch of wanna be fang-bangers, wearing black vinyl pants and no shirt, would have smelled all musky and alluring. To her at the moment, the permeating reek of his sweat, gingivitis, and cat urine cologne, made her want to decapitate him while vomiting down his spinal column. He noticed her watching him; putting a hand through his dyed black hair, while flashing a smile, and gyrating his hips in her direction on the dance floor. She flipped him off and growled, continuing to push her way- quite literally, through the milling crowd. Alana hated arguing with Godric. It only served to put her into a severe fit of depression, and now that she was a vampire slash whatever the fuck she was- it made her ravenous as well. Without any effort she cut off their emotional bond. She might regret harsh words because she loved him, but her point still stood firm. His compassion had been one of the reasons she'd fallen in love with him; well that, and the fact he could make her wet her panties with a single look hadn't hurt either. Alana stopped at the bar- sniffing a blonde human patron sitting on a stool, gaining stares from others who'd taken notice. This one was different. A woman, older than herself, but still young, was wearing a cute little flowery sundress with matching hair ribbon. A bit out of place in this Goth nightmare, but she supposed- to each their own. At least she didn't repulse her. Alana beckoned the bartender over and shoved someone off the adjoining stool. "Wow, having a bad night or something- cuz that was just rude." The woman at the bar chastised. Alana rolled her eyes and ignored her. "True Blood A negative- now!" She ordered to the girl tending bar. Alana would not give in on this, she fumed, slamming her fist down to make her internal affirmation. Eric was hers now too, they were family and whether the ungrateful Viking brat accepted her or not; she would fight for him. "Ok, I can't take it." The annoying woman continued. "What is the matter with you and why do you look like a cat that's just been forced to take a bath?" The question threw her off, pausing her thoughts, and Alana actually slowly turned to face the woman, earning a gasp from her because of her eyes; in which she quickly recovered. "Sorry- knee jerk reaction." Before Alana could tell this woman what she would like to do to her dead body after she killed her, Isobel approached. "Thank goodness," She was hugging her and kissing her cheeks like a semi-automatic in rapid fire, "I was worried." Alana softened. "My friend, I am so glad you're here." The embrace was returned fiercely. "Where is Stan?" Isobel pointed towards a stage she'd overlooked in her fury walk. Eric was on this throne, adorned with Nordic carvings and red velvet backing- big surprise there, pompous ass. Stan was standing behind him with his hand raised in a wave. They both were watching them and the club. Godric was still unseen, probably sulking in Eric's office, expecting her to come rushing back in apology. Fat chance Alana waved back to Stan. "Well, well, well…" She stated surprised. "They're awful chummy now, aren't they?" "Yeah- it is weird." Isobel agreed shrugging. "But that is to be expected. Men tend to bond over a common objective." The blonde woman that Alana had forgotten about cleared her throat. Isobel seemed to recognize her. "Sookie." Much to Alana disgust and jealousy, Isobel hugged the human too, and they both laughed. "Izzy." Sookie said in return. Hey- that was her nickname for Isobel! "When Eric called and said you were going to be here, I just had to say yes. Any idea why my services are required? I mean, other than the usual dramatic vampire bullshit." Isobel was giggling with full fang. "C'mon, you know how Eric is- I couldn't tell you even if I wanted to. But for a friend…" She cocked an eyebrow. "Maybe I could be persuaded." Sookie laughed back. Alana's hand squeezed her True Blood bottle dangerously, flexing her fingers on the glass, about to shatter it. She decided to down the contents instead, gulping it in practically one swallow. She wiped her mouth with the back of hand, smearing the synthetic crap a little, over her full pouting lips. "What services could this- this- bitch provide?" Both women widened their eyes and dropped their smiles. "Alana." Isobel breathed in shock. "Claws to boot." Another blonde said in praise to Alana. She'd materialized out of thin air, and was definitely a vamp. "I think you and I are going to get along very well." She let her eyes roam all over her making her feel naked, and then turned giving Isobel a curt nod. "Lieutenant." "Hello Pamela." Isobel greeted sourly. "What timing you have." "Always." Pam quipped with a wink, then nodded to Sookie in turn with a grin; addressing her saucily by her newly given name. "Bitch." Sookie scowled. Isobel sighed to the heavens. Alana grinned. "So glad you could come, but unattended?" Pam continued in a sexy purr, knowing she was poking at a sore spot. "Why, where is that pathetic Civil War douche bag you call boyfrie-?" Sookie cut her off with a shaky whisper. "Fuck you." Pam brushed imaginary lint off her red leather corset unfazed. She put a hand to her hip and met Sookie's icy glare with dilated desire- her plump glossy lips rose back to reveal her incisors that had descended in a rapturous click. "You shouldn't beg…it's not becoming." Pam's eyebrow raised in challenge as she said it, causing Sookie to look away. Isobel raised up both hands. "Everyone needs to knock it off." Alana went to defend Pam, as the vamp was right- she liked her a lot, lesbian weirdness and all. And not for nothing, who the hell did this Sookie think she was anyway? "Izzy…" Alana flipped her hair over her shoulder and gave Sookie a snotty huff, making a possessive point. My friend- Mine! Eric beat her to it. "If you are all done flirting with each other, we're ready to start the meeting." His tone suggested he had ulterior motives for interrupting the cat fight. "Sookie-" Eric appraised her in a similar fashion that Pam had ogled Alana, making Sookie blush. "I see Compton couldn't make it…how unfortunate." His smirk was so much saying the opposite and Alana couldn't help herself. "Oh, Eww." She grabbed her friend's hand, kissed Pam's cheek in a fly by fashion, making the arrogant progeny of Eric startle slightly, and stomped away from them all- Isobel in tow. They needed to talk privately first before any kind of meeting was held. Alana spotted an empty booth in the corner of the room and speeded them there. She found some things really cool about her change, and this was one of them. Isobel sat across the table, concern evident in her chocolate brown irises. She still held Alana's hand and gently asked her. "What is troubling you- why were you so mean to the telepath?" So, that was her gig, Alana thought with venom. Didn't matter right now. "It's Godric Izzy- we fought." She felt a swirl of emotions overtake her. Godric must have reinforced their bond. He was projecting through it with such intensity, that if she'd needed to breath, she would have lacked the ability. There was so much love but also an overwhelming sadness too. A blood tear dropped on her cheek. "What is wrong with me?" Isobel sighed in a knowing way. "Go to him, we will speak later." Alana nodded weakly but had to get something out first. "How do you know her?" "Who- Sookie?" "Yes, the bitch." Alana said trying to make a joke. Neither really laughed over it though. Isobel understood somewhat, seeing and recognizing jealousy when she saw it. However flattering it was to her ego that Alana wanted to claim her, as to vampires it was second nature; the level of it was concerning. Her friend was different in a way that was something else- but what? Maybe it had something to do with her having turned Alana. But that couldn't really be it, could it? Those spectral orbs had done what she couldn't. Isobel was stumped. "I met her a while ago while visiting Eric, we hit it off, and her gifts of reading minds have proved invaluable to our kind in many situations. She's not bad as humans go Alana- give her a chance." "Wait- why were you visiting Eric? Was Godric with you?" Isobel squirmed slightly in her seat. Alana widened her eyes and her mouth dropped open. It was suddenly very clear. She understood why Isobel didn't want to say it aloud- vamp hearing and such. Stan wasn't within sight and off the stage, but who knew- he could be eavesdropping and they wouldn't know it. Alana mouthed to Isobel, her head tipped down towards the table. "You and Eric?" Isobel just mouthed back, her head also down. "Bingo." Both women suddenly realized how ridiculous they looked and burst out laughing. "Well- erm…" Alana was struggling to remember what she had been so concerned about, but a tug on her solar plexus rapidly reminded her. "Oh no- Godric," she whispered to Isobel urgently, "I need your help getting Eric to stop hating me and I also need you to help me get Godric to understand why he can't shun everyone that cares about him- for me." Alana was feeling more and more intense pain, she choked on it. "Please-" "Alana…" Isobel said slowly with fear. "What is wrong- you look wrong." She couldn't answer her. Something was twisting itself within her and making a new home. Isobel stood up and was instantly at Alana's side. Godric also appeared, jumping onto the table in front of her. "Tell Eric to shut down Fangtasia." Isobel frantically called out. "Pamela." The vampire dominatrix appeared as before. "Yes, lieutenant." "Something is the matter with Alana, go find Eric and Stan, and get the breathers out- now!" "As you wish." Pam said in awe, concern flashing across her face; the gorgeous one with the filmy eyes was turning silver in color. She left to do her commanders bidding. "Isobel- there is a satchel I left in Eric's office. I didn't grab in my haste. It has Alana's medicine. Fetch it." She looked torn for a millisecond not wanting to leave her best friend's side, but knew she had to- so rushed to get what Godric needed; praying in Spanish as she went. Just then Sookie cautiously approached the table. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. The tiny rude vampire, who'd just insulted her only moments before, was obviously struggling with what looked like a seizure of some kind. She was shaking with muscle tightening spasms and her eyes were rolling into her head. But her skin was the strangest thing yet. It reminded Sookie of glitter glue, all sparkles with fluidity; swimming across the surface of Alana's body like a kaleidoscope. "Godric," She asked meekly, "will you allow me to help?" He was cradling Alana in his lap upon the table, having pulled her out of her seat shortly after responding to her fear from their bond. There was an instinctual protectiveness about him right now that scared her. He looked like he would kill her for even daring to speak. This was not a good night for Sookie. Yet she was stubborn and would not give up. Not when she honest to god thought there might be something she could do- a force unseen was telling her she could. It was guiding her. "Really- I think I can ease her suffering. I don't know why I know this. But I do." Sookie took another step closer and reached out her hand. "Let me." With the looks of a child and the voice of a demon, Godric warned. "If you do not help, as you so put it, and end up making it worse for her- causing more pain…I will rip you limb from limb and bathe in your blood. Are we clear?" Sookie gulped but screwed her shoulders straighter, meeting his threat with all the grace of a well-bred southern belle. "Yes Sir, crystal clear." "Then do it." He spat, growing inpatient. Eric, having assisted Pam in the early closing, now stood behind Sookie, resting his hands on her shoulders, applying slight pressure meant to be comforting. "I have faith in you." He stated quietly into the shell of her ear. Godric looked to his Child. "Is this woman yours?" Sookie held her breath and was trembling, wondering what the Viking would say. "Not yet." Eric coldly responded. Sookie internally found the answer pleasing but still frowned. "May I?" She directed at Godric once again. He stared through her, but graciously gave consent with the crook of a finger. Sookie used a chair to step daintily up and lean over the two as no more room was left for her to join. She placed her hands onto Alana's convulsing body; one held over her heart, one resting on her forehead- Sookie closed her eyes. Intense light and a horde of monotone voices greeted her. Sookie grimaced, her first instinct being to break physical contact, as she was absorbing some of the pain Alana was experiencing. She was looking through a worm hole with her third eye, plunging deeper into the chaos, and searching for where Alana might be. There was a hovering black sludge that she didn't like one bit. Sookie pushed harder, not allowing fear of the presence to sway her course. And just as Alice fell through the rabbit hole- Sookie entered into the small girl's mind. In the distance, her physical body was still aware of all the vampires circling around them and the spectacle- even a southern drawl barking, "What the hell is she doing to Lil Miss?" Sookie ignored them all. Blocking out any distractions that may sway her course- she needed to concentrate. "Alana." She called in the void. "Where are you honey? I can't see you yet…" "Who's there?" A frightened voice responded. "Don't come any closer! I'm not going with you! You can't make me- do you hear…YOU- CAN'T- MAKE- ME!" Sookie felt as well as heard the panic in Alana's voice, she instantly wanted to sooth, protect, and ease her terror. "I'm not here to harm you baby girl. Godric sent me to stop what's hurting you and bring you back. You want to go back to him don't you? He loves you oh so much- they all do sweetie." There was no answer. "Alana please." Sookie tried again. "You don't have to be alone in this. Let me help you." "Godric-" The voice said with hope. "Yes." Sookie confirmed, relief washing over her. "He's waiting for us beyond the veil…" "I'm scared to move." Alana whined. "They're waiting to grab me- they keep whispering to me and I feel like if they succeed, I'll be lost forever." Sookie had a feeling the black sludge, creeping along the edges, and trying to encompass- was what was frightening and threatening her. "I won't let it get you." Sookie told her, tapping into her light. "Alana hurry- come to my voice, and don't focus on anything else." A mighty wind started blowing and Sookie was afraid she'd be propelled away. She fought against it and her fingers sparked- shooting out lightening. "HURRY!" She screamed. Sookie released all her power into the walls, causing a high pitched shriek from whatever that shit was. Suddenly a silhouette outlining Alana blocked the tunnel in front of her. Why, she was just a girl- truly, Sookie marveled, suddenly feeling maternal. She was terrified and all alone, just trying to be brave. She wondered if and where this girl's mother was. Some of Alana's memories answered her- the reel of a movie playing…suicide, drunk driver, funeral, homelessness. There was some shit she'd like to say to that selfish woman. Like how dare you not be here when she needs you? How dare you leave her to fend for herself, getting entangled with vampires and the supernatural? Sookie wanted to cry for her, but knew right now it wasn't an option. Alana ran up to her and threw her arms around her. "Sookie." "The one and only." Sookie smiled, hugging her back. "Let's get the fuck out of here, ok." Alana just buried her face into the crook of her arm and nodded fiercely. This was all new to Sookie- usually she was the shortest person she knew. She concentrated on Fangtasia. She thought about poor worried Godric and Isobel. She even let herself think about Eric Northman and his cocky pursuit of her. And just like that- a punch to her system- a jolt to her mind- a pull from her magic. They were free. Sookie opened her up her eyes. Godric was holding Alana in a rocking motion and whispering soothing words of comfort while she sniffled and cried. Isobel and some cowboy- wait, a cowboy? Well they were holding each other, smiling at her with gratefulness in their expressions. Eric was there too as was that asshole kid of his Pam. Sookie fought the urge to stick out her tongue- who's your bitch now- bitch! "I never lost faith in you Sookie." Eric said with tenderness. There was a worship quality about the way he was looking at her that was making her bashful. "It was nothing." She shrugged. "Godric-" Sookie directed her attention to the ancient. He interrupted her. "I owe you a debt. There will never be anything I wouldn't do for you now- you are mine and under my protection. Thank you for saving her." Godric was emotional and kissing Alana's temple and smoothing her hair, but Sookie saw finality in his blue eyes. "Wait, what do ya mean I'm yours now?" Eric stiffened and started growling at his Maker. Sookie looked at them both and was really confused. "Explain please, because last I knew, free will was still in fashion- besides I'm Bill's." "You were the only one who could help her. She even vomited up the medicine I tried making her drink while you were doing whatever it was that you did. You, Miss Stackhouse, are not leaving my retinue as long as you can provide safety for my woman. My decision is final." "You cannot do this." Eric practically shouted. "My Child- I do not claim the telepath in that way and you know it. I simply require her for the time being. You may pleasure yourself with her as you see fit. I will gift her to you when and if Alana becomes free of this plague." "Are you all fucking nuts?" Sookie screamed, losing her shit at their audacity. Stan whistled low. "Hot damn, you got yourself a spitfire there, Eric." Isobel smacked his chest. "Stay out of this." Pam was the only one who looked just as horrified as Sookie. "What of the Queen?" Eric broke his staring contest with Godric to glare at his progeny with contempt. Pam was instantly contrite and looked to the floor in submission. "Who's the Queen and why would this matter right now?" Sookie demanded. "What don't I know Eric? Is that where Bill just had to go tonight?" She jumped off the stool and was poking him in the chest. "No more lies. No more games. You fucking be straight with me. What is going on?" Eric stonily looked at her and grabbed her hand, stopping its jabbing, and put his mask of indifference back in place. He was loyal to his Maker no matter what, even if he didn't like or agree with him right now. "You heard Godric. Your binding to Bill is now nullified. It is our law and Bill will be compensated." "Com-com-compensated!" Sookie stuttered with rage. "Godric my head hurts." Alana complained in a tiny wounded voice. "Min lilla fresterska, it is going to be alright. We will see to a donor- you need nourishment." Godric soothed, snapping his fingers to Pam. "Yes Grandsire." She bowed, speeding off to find a human. "Sookie, please…" Isobel spoke up. "Let's finish this conversation after Alana is better. The stress is too much." Godric agreed. "Yes- no more on the subject." Sookie felt the red and blotchy heat creeping up her neck and swelling in her chest- tears were falling. "I hate you." She choked out to Eric, running away from him and to the bathroom. Eric stood in place flexing his jaw and didn't chase after her. Stan walked over to his new comrade and put his hand on his shoulder, squeezing it in sympathy. "She don't mean it, and you know it. She's just angry right now cuz she don't get what's up is all." When Eric still didn't move or say anything, Stan said to Isobel. "Go talk to her hun- this is a woman's department. We men aren't doing a good job of it right now." Isobel winked and blew him a kiss, walking over to Alana first and giving her a hug. "It's going to be okay." Alana practically sprung from Godric's lap to hug her back. "Please, I'm so sorry about before…please… go tell her…I'm so sorry." "I know baby, shhh." Isobel kissed her cheek and rubbed her back in circles. "Do not worry yourself, Izzy will fix it." She pulled down and fixed her white silk blouse, after Godric gently pulled Alana back into his lap. "Word to the wise Godric," Isobel quipped, "caveman tactics are not the best way to win a woman's cooperation. You may profit better by giving Sookie an opportunity to decide for herself, I don't think she will disappoint. Her heart is too big." Godric sighed and conceded. "I was rash. Go and see to her. We will mend fences together…Eric." The Viking's arctic eyes flickered in answer but he still wouldn't speak, he didn't trust himself to. "This Compton character. He is in cahoots with Sophie Ann, is he not?" Godric asked. Eric tilted his chin to confirm. "Then I agree with your telepath. No more games or lies. You will disclose to her everything. If you love her as I suspect-" Godric held up his hand to stop Eric from protesting. "I know you better than anyone, do you forget that?" He gave a small smile. "I know what that means now." Godric nuzzled Alana's raven hair and inhaled deeply. "It is the most precious thing and worth making yourself vulnerable for; this is something I failed in teaching you before, because until Alana, I didn't believe it existed. My love for you is infinite. It always has been. But what I fumbled in attempting to convey before is this." Godric cleared his throat. "I would die for you Childe without question…but I live for her." Eric relaxed his stance, realization dawning. "You were contemplating the true death, weren't you?" He looked pained. "I felt something a while ago but thought it was just melancholy and if you were in need of me you would send for me." Godric shook his head. "That was before. It has all changed and she is why." Eric turned his head to Alana in complete respect. "Thank you." She didn't know what to say in response, but started clutching her head as another wave of pins and needles attacked her brain. Just then Pam returned dragging a human girl of about twenty with red hair and hazel green eyes. Her clothing suggested she was down on her luck and her makeup was smudged messily, looking old and in need of reapplication. She sniffled a little and rubbed her nose. "When do I get some blow?" Pam shoved her towards the booth, making her drop to her knees on the floor. "After you die." She deadpanned. Alana howled and pounced, ravenously attacking the girl. Her screams gurgled with drowning blood as her neck was savagely torn to shreds. Stan grimaced. "We should really teach her some table manners Godric- I mean, what are others gonna think, if and when we ever take her to an event?" Eric huskily started to chuckle and Godric rolled his eyes at the cowboys concern, while Pam grinned like a Cheshire cat. "Master," She said with affection, "I think I love her too." Eric gave his own Childe a forgiving look. "I think we all do." Sookie emerged from the bathroom with Isobel on her heels absolutely horrified. "Oh my sweet Jesus- what is she doing? Somebody please stop her- she's killing that girl!" None of the vampires made a move to do any such thing just blinking at Sookie as if to say, so what. She looked ready to pop an aneurism and was jumping in place. "Hello, she just can't murder all of her meals." Godric gave her a confusing expression and shrugged his shoulders, truly curious. "Why ever not?" Sookie let out a scream of frustration. It was absolutely infuriating to her how thick headed and simple they all could be. It was quite clear to her now. They needed her, and badly. "Goddamn it Eric, stop her now. You-" She pointed to Stan. "Stop leering at Isobel and get more donors. Godric, so help me, you will do right by this girl and teach her the proper way to mainstream, or I will blast your ass through a wall." Sookie lit up her fingers throwing off sparks when Godric scowled, to prove her threat was founded. "I have had it up to here with all you guys and your bullshit." Sookie put her hand to above her head to demonstrate. "Oh and Pam…" Sookie sing songed in mocking. "This bitch needs some things from her house, like clothes and toiletries, especially if I'm to be expected to stay her." She snapped her fingers in dismissal when Pam went to argue or say something snarky, "Now!" Eric's progeny looked to him in offended fury but he just told her. "You heard her Pam, go." She scrunched up her face and pierced her lips. "Fucking vermin." But did as directed, leaving the bar. Eric peeled Alana off the street urchin and applied her fangs to his own neck, feeding her himself. Godric was impressed, but didn't make a fuss over Eric's show of acceptance. He addressed this telepathic barmaid that had suddenly become Colonel Custard. "It would appear you have taken charge Miss Stackhouse. Does this mean you have decided to aid us willingly?" Sookie cocked her eyebrow at him and snorted. "You have no idea Godric- do you?" When he still gave her puzzled blankness, she continued. "When I'm through with you all- you're gonna regret ever pissing me off." Godric laughed genuinely then. "Oh Sookie…" He put his head into his hand with irony. "I think we already do." She couldn't contain her hard countenance any longer- bursting out herself into a fit of giggles at how weird and strange this whole mess had turned out. Isobel draped her arm over Sookie's shoulders and drew her into her side. "Welcome to the nest." She too was laughing and marveling at the situation. This element and force of nature that was Sookie Stackhouse, was definitely going to be interesting…Isobel hadn't a doubt in her mind. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
