Big Sister

Dear Diary,

Dean's got a bloody nose.

Daddy's mad at him again.

Rob from school was picking on me but I did what Daddy said and didn't listen but then he pushed me. I didn't do nothing still 'cause Daddy said just tell the teacher but she wasn't around.

He pulled my hair and kicked mud at me so Dean hit him.

Rob his back and Dean got a bloody nose.

But Dean hit back again and now Rob's got a bloody lip and a cut on his arm and a bump on his head.

Rob shouldn't've hit me so I think Daddy's just mean.

Daddy said you shouldn't hit girls. Dean said Rob did. Dean said he was making sure no one hit a girl.

Daddy said there's other ways.

Don't know which ways though.

Sammy is awake when we get back. He comes over and gives us big hugs and asks what we did. Daddy said Sammy's gonna be real smart when he's big and so he's always asking questions.

If boys can't hit girls then why can boys hit boys? I don't care. No one's ever gonna hit Dean or Sammy. I'll hit them if they do.
