Vesta

Vesta looked out the window .

“ Sweetheart your friend will be here any time”.

“ Nana her name is December, but I just call her Dee”.

A few minutes later there was a young lady with a little girl knocking at the Kent door.

“ Nana they're here”.

“ Daddy get ready”.

“ Where you going?” asked Martha , before opening the door .

“ Come in”.

Clark recognize Dee’s mother.

“ Tracey I haven’t seen you since High school”.

Vesta , and Dee looked up at their parents .

“ Have a seat Tracey”, motion Clark .

“ Dee told me your taking Vesta, and her on a nature hike.

“ I told Vesta after her foot got better I’d take her , and she told me that she wanted to take Dee along”.

“ Oh I forgot about the nature hike ”, said Martha setting in the rocking Chair.

Clark , and Tracey chatted about old times for several minutes , while the girls ate lunch.

She was a cheerleader when he was a quarterback.

Tracey left shortly .

“ Okay Girls if you two are ready".

“ Lets hit the dusty trail".

“ Daddy you walk on a dusty trail” .

He picked her up with one arm , and Dee with the other”.

“ Okay Miss Kent how many times have I got to tell you there is only room on this farm for one wise cracker?”

Vesta looked at him.

“ Only once, and your looking at her Daddy”.

Dee just laughed .

“ Mom we'll be back later” .

“ Come Shelby”.

They hiked for a while , than stopped for a rest .

Dee found a pretty red rock to take home for Tracey”.

Without Clark or Vesta seeing she put it in a bag that had Shelby’s treats in it .

A few minutes later Shelby was barking.

“ Okay boy I’ll get you a treat” .

Clark reached in , and touch the red rock .

“ He had his back turned to the girls , so they did not see his eyes glaze over.

Shelby barked again .

“ Here boy go get it Clark threw the treat really far.

“ Dee was looking around for some more pretty rocks.

“ Daddy it will take Shelby along time to find his treat”.

“ I gave him a challenge”.

Clark Kept quiet about the rock , and the girls had fun running around looking for things .

When Clark seen the sun was about to sit he picked up the bag , and threw it over his shoulder.

“ Dee, Vesta we have to be heading back .

Clark could feel the affects of the Red K rushing through his veins , and he had one thing on his mine .

He was going to go after Lex Luthor .

“ Vesta had never seen him under the influence of Red k .

“ Tell Chloe , and Nana that I went to take care of some business”.

“ I have no clue when I’ll be back , but it will be sometime tonight or tomorrow”.

“ Vesta where is your daddy going in such a hurry?”

“ Vesta looked up at Chloe , and Dee sat down at the table.

“ Daddy going to take care of some business”.

Dee than realized Clark still had the pretty red rock.

“ Oh no Vesta your daddy has a red rock I found for my mommy”.

Chloe heart stopped beating momentarily .

She had a notion Clark was infected with red K.

“ Vesta did he say where he was going?”

“ No Chloe , but he was in a hurry to get back here”.


Chloe told Martha want happen” .

“ Chloe I will take Dee home”.

Martha was back in a few minutes.

“ Chloe , and Vesta were outside sitting on the porch swing.

“ Mrs. Kent Clark has gone after Lex”.
