~ day one ~
His hand rested on my shoulder. His breathing war shallow, still. Suddenly the gab at the base of the door opened and pushed a small tray with something to eat and drink in it.
Now I realised that I was thirsty and Jarod would has to be thirsty too. I got up and moved to the tray, pulled it to me and than grabbed the mug with steaming coffee. So it was morning? Maybe…
movemoved back to the bed, knelt down. A thunder of pain rushed through my body. I ignored it.
”Jarod.” I said softly. “Are you able to sit up a little, you have to drink something.”
He didn’t answer in words, just nodded and under a wash of sighs and ‘fucks’ he got into a sitting position.
I helped his trembling hands to hold the mug and we moved it to his mouth. His lips seemed to be dry. The coffee was hot but he didn’t care. Jarod drank it like it would be cold water, running, heeling inner wounds.
“How are you doing Jarod?” I asked him, letting my palm cup his cheek. He looked at me. His eyes were telling me how he felt. He didn’t seem to need words.
I nodded and helped him to lay down again. It was probably the only position in which he was able to breath in just a little pain.

“Parker” he murmured.
I was sitting on the floor in front of the bed again, like I did in the ‘morning’. I had fallen asleep for several hours, and the pain in my back was getting a little better.
Slowly I turned around, not to harsh things. Jarod’s dark eyes were starring at me. Normally I would hate this look. I would feel like I would be standing naked in front of him but this time I didn’t care. I cared about nothing, nothing than us.
“What?” I asked softly.
“I am cold.” he whispered.
I looked around and together we got the blanket he was laying on around him.
“I am still cold.”
What to do now? I didn’t have to think twice.
“Is it okay with you when I get behind you?”
When I got up standing next to the bed, I noticed that he had moved to the wall. I laid down in front of him and he spooned up. His hand was around my waist and I felt his shivering body pressed against mine.
What happened to us? What happened to us to let us work in a team and not against each other?
My hand rested on his and together we moved up and down my belly. Slowly I felt him moving under the hem of my t-shirt. My skin was warm in comparison to his. His hand just rested a little above my belly button. Nothing to humiliate about.
It didn’t took us long to fall asleep again.“Parker wake upu weu were just dreaming” Jarod said and made circles with his thumb on my belly.
I nodded. I must have woken him. Unfortunately.
“It was just a dream … just a dream.” he said and placed a soft kiss on my neck where his nose against before. He snuggled a little closer and tighter into my back. “Don’t cry Parker” he said before I even started. “It was just a dream. I am here, Parker I am here.”
I told myself that it just had been a dream. Nothing serious. Nothing to be afraid of. It had been nothing.
He was still making circles on my belly. I didn’t felt hungry. I didn’t felt thirsty. I just let him touch me. Just let him comfort me. Just let myself feel that I wasn’t alone.
