AN: Here’s chapter 3! Thanks for all the great reviews! I love your
suggestions and sometimes they really spark some good ideas, so keep
them coming!
And to the anonymous reviewer that doesn’t like the story but keeps
reading anyway: You may think you know exactly where this story is going
and you may think you can predict everything that is going to happen.
Anyone who knows my writing knows that I live for plot twists and I am
positive that I have a few plot twists in store for future chapters that no one
will see coming.
Now on with chapter 3!
Captive
Chapter 3
Kat’s POV
We stood outside the training compound in Miami. We were told sternly by
her coach that we could wait until they were finished for the evening. I
glanced at Tommy and could tell he was really nervous.
“Nervous about seeing Kim?” I asked
“This isn’t about Kim and I. It’s about saving Billy,” Tommy replied.
“Tommy, you and Kim said maybe two words to each other after
Muranthias. Don’t you think it’s time to talk things out?” I asked.
“Kim and I are over,” he snapped back.
“Don’t let her go without a fight Tommy,” I said, as I felt tears well in my
eyes. Tommy glanced over at me.
“Don’t withhold your true feelings, it will just make you miserable,” I said, as
tears fell down my cheeks. I silently cursed myself for being so emotional
in front of everyone. Tommy took me by the shoulders and led me away
from the others.
“What’s wrong Kat?” he asked.
“I’m in love with him Tommy. I realized I was the day he left,” I confessed.
Tommy hugged me.
“Hey, you should be happy then. We’re going to get him back and you can
tell him how you feel,” Tommy told me.
“I know, but what if he doesn’t feel the same way?” I sniffed.
“What if he does?” Tommy asked. Tommy was right. Billy did ask me to
come with the original rangers. Why me and not Adam or Rocky? I smiled
and Tommy smiled back.
“Do whatever you have to do to be happy Kat. When we get to Aquitar, tell
him how you feel,” Tommy told me.
“I will,” I replied. As we finished our conversation, we saw people coming
out of the training area.
Tommy’s POV
I immediately spotted a petite chestnut haired woman in a lavender leotard
exit the building. God, she was as beautiful as ever. Kat glanced at me.
“Take your own advice. Tell her how you still feel,” Kat told me.
“Tommy?!” Kim nearly yelled.
“What are you guys doing here? What’s going on?” Kim asked.
“We need to go some place where we can talk,” Andros said.
“Follow me,” Kim said. We arrived at Kim’s apartment and all went inside.
I properly introduced Kim to the Astro rangers before we went any further.
“So what’s going on exactly?” she asked.
“The Astro rangers received a message from Aquitar,” Tommy said, as he
motioned for Andros to play the recording. Kim was in shock.
“I knew it. I never believed that Billy would fall in love with a fish. He’s not
afraid of them anymore, but he’s still not fond of them,” Kim said.
“We’re going after him. Are you in?” Tommy asked, avoiding her doe eyes
as much as possible.
“Of course, Billy and I are like brother and sister. Let’s go to Geneva and
get Jason, Zack and Trini,” Kim replied.
“Thank you so much Kim,’ Kat said, as she hugged her. The group
returned the Astro Megaship to crash for the night. They would teleport to
Geneva early the next morning and find the final three people at the
University.

The next morning, they found the three former rangers and played the
recording for them.
“Are you in?” Tommy asked.
“Do you even have to ask? That’s my little bro that’s in trouble. What are
we waiting for,” Jason said.
“There’s no question, we’ve got to go help Billy,” Trini said.
“Yeah, Billy falling in love with a fish is like me falling in love with a
bug...yuck,: Zack shivered. The others couldn’t help but laugh. Andros
teleported everyone to the Astro Megaship and the course for Aquitar was
set.
“We will arrive tomorrow morning. Until then, make yourselves at home,”
Andros said.
~*~
The next morning...
“Katherine, wake up,” Kim nudged.
“I moaned, as I began to wake up. I reluctantly opened my eyes, having
been pulled out of a very good dream involving Billy and very little clothing.
“Andros said that we’re going to be there in an hour. Thought you might
want to clean up. There’s breakfast in the kitchen too, though with Jason
and Zack, it might not be there much longer,” Kim told me. I woke up very
quickly when I realized that I would be seeing Billy in an hour. I smiled and
rushed past Kim for the shower.
“Thanks Kim,” I said.

I smiled knowingly, as Kat shut the bathroom door. She hasn’t told me, but
I can tell that she is in love with Billy. Her eyes sparkle at the mention on
his name, just like mine used to...why do I try and kid myself. My eyes still
sparkle and my heart skips a beat when I think of him. I need to talk to him
and we needed to stop lying to ourselves. However, saving Billy was the
first priority. But I decided that Mr. Thomas John Oliver and I were going to
have a long talk on the way back home.

I hummed to myself, as I finished getting ready. I picked out a pink outfit to
wear for old times sake. Now that my ranger days are over, I have many
other colors in my wardrobe, but pink will always be my favorite. I have
chosen a baby pink scoop neck tee and a jean skirt. I checked my hair for
a final time, which I was wearing in a shoulder bob these days, before
heading to the kitchen. I was almost too nervous to eat, so I chose to have
just a banana.
“Good morning,” I said cheerfully to the others. They all echoed good
mornings back. A few minutes later, Andros summoned us to the bridge.

I lounged in my throne thinking of new tortures for those teens. I must
correct myself there, for they are not teens anymore, but adults rather.
Astronema has allowed us to move back into our moon palace as long as
we don’t touch the earth. The Astro rangers were hers, but she never said
anything about any former rangers.
Zeddy, our little wolfy boy isn’t going to be trapped on Aquitar much
longer,” Rita whined, as she looked through her Repulsa scope. I used my
own infrared vision and saw she was right. The former rangers had gone
after him. This could be a lot of fun.
“Come Rita, let’s go have some fun,” I said.

“Welcome rangers and former rangers,” Delphine greeted.
“Delphine, why are they here?” Cestria said, as she entered the docking
bay.
“They have come to see their friend William,” Delphine told her.
“William does not want to see you, I’m sorry,” Cestria told us.
“Cut the act. Billy sent us a distress message. We know all about his
captivity,” Tommy replied.
“I don’t know what you are talking about. Billy loves me and he is not being
held captive,” Cestria lied.
“You’re lying,” I practically yelled. Her eyes flashed red, but at the moment,
I didn’t care whether she was under a spell or not. Something had been
keeping Billy and I apart and I was sick of it.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Cestria spat at me. We stared
each other down. I could clearly see the hate in her eyes. She hates me,
but she couldn’t possibly know about my feelings for Billy. Could this mean
Billy does feel something for me?
“She’s right Cestria, you are lying,”
My breath caught, as I saw Billy in the doorway with Cestro behind him.
“But I love you Billy,” she pleaded.
“Cestria, I will always be grateful to you for saving my life. But I’m not in
love with you,” Billy told her. God, he’s even more gorgeous than I
remember. Suddenly, Cestria and Tideus’ eyes glowed red strongly, but
then it dissipated.
“What going on? She asked. Before any of us could say anything, two
beings I loathe more than anything appeared.
“Hello former ranger rats!” Rita ranted.
“Rita and Zedd?” Jason asked.
“That’s right. You did a wonderful job for us Cestria,” Zedd replied.
“You’re responsible for this?!” Billy yelled.
“That’s right wolfy boy,” Rita cackled.
“This is revenge for everything you’ve done to defeat us!” Zedd shouted.
Billy’s POV
“What were you hoping to gain by keeping me here?” I asked.
“Your misery of course. Payback for all the headaches you’ve caused us.
We delight in your pain. What better way to make you miserable than to
keep you away from your friends...and the woman you love.” Zedd said
evilly. I almost growled, but managed to keep my anger in check.
“Shut up Zedd,” I spat. I am determined to tell Katherine that I love her, but
this bastard is not going to do it for me.
“We’re not rangers anymore, so what’s the point in bothering us?” Tommy
questioned.
“Oh you and William are just first on my list. I love watching you be
miserable without Kimmy in your life,” Zedd mocked.
“Yeah, well your fun is over now,” Tommy snapped back.
“Oh no rangers, it is just beginning,” he laughed evilly, as he began
shooting jolts of energy around the bay. Everyone began dodging to the
floor. Zedd gave Billy an evil look before firing directly at Katherine.
“No!” I screamed. He was actually trying to kill her. He knew that if anything
were to happen to her, it would destroy me. Without even thinking, I leaped
and topped Kat the floor, twisting us as we fell so that I would received the
brunt of the fall. Unfortunately Zedd’s blast clipped my shoulder. I cried out
briefly, but then focused my attention on Katherine, who was draped over
my chest.
“Mark my words Billy Cranston, you and your friends have not seen the last
of us,” Zedd promised, as he and Rita disappeared. Katherine and I helped
each other up and I couldn’t keep my eyes off her.
“Billy, you’re hurt,” she said with concern.
“It just grazed the skin. Nothing that a small bandage won’t cure,” I replied.
“You saved my life,” she said tenderly.
“I’d never forgive myself if anything happened to you,” I admitted. At that
moment, we silently agreed that we would be talking later.
“Billy, I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am,” Cestria said.
“It was entirely your fault,” Billy told her.
Kat’s POV
As Billy said his goodbyes to the Aquitians, I thought about us . I have
never felt more confident about our future together than I do right now. I
watched as Cestria continued to plea with him to at least come and visit.
She may have been under a spell when she was keeping Billy here, but I
could plainly see how attracted she was to him. I had to keep myself from
running over there and pulling her hair out. I smiled as I heard Billy say that
this would probably be his final time on Aquitar.
“I know that you are going to leave now, but please know that I will always
love you,” Cestria said, as if almost pleading him to say he loved her back.
But he didn’t and his eyes met mine. Time seemed to stop around us, as
we momentarily got lost in each other’s eyes. Billy said a final goodbye and
we were teleported back to the Astro Megaship.

“I can’t believe I’m finally going home,” I said, as we sat together in what
acted like a living room for the Astro rangers.
“It’s going to be good to have you back man,” Tommy told me. We talked
for a few hours about anything and everything. I loved every minute of it
since it felt like old times. But soon, there was only one that I wished to talk
to and I think the others sensed it.
“Trini, let’s go get dinner started for everyone,” Kim said. Trini took the hint
and followed her.
“Tommy, Jason and Zack, why don’t you come help us,” Kim commanded
rather than suggested. The guys got the hint and soon it was just Katherine
and I. Our friends were great, but not always very subtle. None of that
mattered though since I realized Kat and I were finally alone. It’s now or
never Cranston.
“I’m glad they left,” she said.
“Me too, cause I think we need to talk,” I replied nervously. She nodded. I
have been rehearsing exactly what I am going to say to her for the past few
nights. But now that we are face to face, what I was going to say didn’t
seem to do the situation justice. Perhaps it would be best to show her and
then tell her.
“Katherine, I had everything I was going to say to you all talked out. But, I
think it’s better if I just show you how I feel first,” I said. No turning back
now. I leaned forward and gently kissed her lips. They were so soft and
sweet. She began kissing me back after a few seconds. Our need to
breath forced us to break the amazing kiss.
“I love you Kat, I have for a long time,” I told her. I could see tears welling
in her eyes.
“I love you too Billy,” she replied. My heart nearly exploded with joy.
“You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to hear that,” I told her.
“Probably as long as I’ve wanted to hear it from you,” her sweet voice said.
I kissed her again, this time with much more heat. She responded and
soon we were both lost in the euphoric passion. So lost, that we nearly
jumped at the applause from our friends. Kat giggled and cuddled close to
me. Her body against mine felt so good.
“Look at you two,” Zack said. Our friends took turns hugging us and then
we were left alone again. We talked and I told Billy about how his dad had
taken a job in LA. We decided that we would go visit him over spring break.
I insisted that Billy stay with me at my loft and he accepted since neither of
us wanted to be apart. The subject of my own place came up and I told
Billy about the death of my parents. He held me as I cried briefly. I used to
tell myself that if he was holding me in his arms, it would dull the pain and I
was right. As long as I had Billy, everything was going to be okay.

AN: Hope you liked it! The rating goes up in chapter 4. Tommy and Kim
finally talk and the rangers have a little reunion before parting ways again.
