The lights cut out suddenly, making the darkness envelope and swallow all possible way of seeing at all.
Sookie was unsure of whom or what she was fighting against until her eyes adjusted from cones to rods in her brain. She didn't have to necessarily see though to know there was a big hulk making a grab for her. She shoved against it, and amidst the growls, bangs, and crash- of what sounded something like a glass vase being shattered; she realized she'd royally screwed up yet again and wished with all her might that this wasn't happening right now. Why did she have to go and be all thick skulled and pig headed? If she'd just listen a time or two- well what the hell! A little late for regrets now- thank you very much. A bony arm reached across her chest from behind and a hard elbowed shove from her, had the person grunting as they backed up a step, only then to swivel at her front, and before she could make out the shape completely- pow- her cheek bone was impacted with a left cross. She might now be a prized boxer or mixed martial arts fighter but instinct took over quickly. Sookie's adrenaline made it possible for her to ignore the little birdies chirping around her head from the blow. She gritted her teeth and blocked the counter uppercut that followed liked a seasoned pro, putting all her weight into a well-placed knee crank; earning her the sound of a thud and a high pitched squeal as her assailant hit the hardwood floor. It was only trumped by a seriously pissed off Crystal and her screams. "Josh you dumb asstard- secure the bitch already! You can nurse your nuts later!" She was bum rushed by two others and her lightening fingers lit up again with all the fury of an angry fairy that'd just caught someone trying to look up her skirt. Somewhere in the back of her mind she hoped the doorbell that had just ringed out seconds before was who she guessed it was. It had better of been, she worried, or else she was in a big way- fucked! Oh Eric- where are you? She thought in desperation. The flash from her magic lit up the foyer for a brief moment. The two who'd made the attempt at accosting her were sprawled out on the floor. Neon green eyes against black fur were looking at her, six sets she figured, all circling around their prey, all stalking for the opportunity to pounce on her. Sookie was panicking and not in a good way. "Yer outnumbered and no party tricks are gonna get you outta here." Crystal taunted her, sounding at first to her left. Sookie jumped towards the sound only to have a laugh, she knew belonged to that bitch, sound off to her right. "Give it up and be a good lil'girl- or you ain't never gonna see your brother Jason again…alive." The last made Sookie shiver. It had been awhile since someone had gotten under her skin and make her break out into a sweat from fear. Memories of her childhood ran like ghosts before her eyes. Bruises and band aids. Lemonade stands and frog catching. The hair pulling, tattle telling, and prayers said at bedside. All of them were instantaneous like the reel of a film. Jason making varsity. His senior ball prank with the football squad that almost cost him graduating. The way he beat up anyone who dared make fun of her and her disability. His goofy grin and charming idiocy. And all it… all of him…was about to be lost… Oh Hell NO! One thing Sookie knew with certainty before she snapped was this truth; no-one messed with a Stackhouse! The fury overtook her fear and a tingle that started in her toes, slowly traveled upwards through her body, finally reaching her chest and swelling her heart dangerously. "Party tricks." She snorted at Crystal. "You've made a big mistake taking my brother," Sookie said, her shit eating gap toothed grin sparkling white in the pitch, "and an even bigger one threatening me." Rainbow lights sparked around her aura and charged the ends of Sookie's hair making it defy gravity and rise on a phantom wind current. "Omnia tempus cessabunt donec redirent!" Sookie screamed manically, not even aware of what she was saying. A void had taken over her mind and all went on a dead frequency. Sookie gave over her will to something primal and ancient. She unknowingly called on her ancestors. Her skin turned a bright shade of sparkly gold and the veins underneath stood out with their lava passengers; red lines traveling to her eyes that had gone black as coals. Sookie's voice had a faraway robotic tone, so not hers anymore, and deepened to the baritone of a man. "You will give back what is ours Were." A clap of raw force exploded making time stand still. It took a moment for her to realize that the panthers around her were as unmoving as taxidermy statues. Crystal's sharp and hard features were frozen in a twisted scoff. The very presence of air seemed lacking. Sookie relaxed a fraction that is until a familiar velvety whisper tickled the shell of her ear making her jump with a yelp. "Impressive." She swung around surprised and returned to her normal self- well physically anyway- almost instantly. She beheld Eric towering over her. Her pulse quickened and hummed all at the same time. Yet she had to admit she'd never been happier to see him in her life. He was looking at her with a mix of admiration and apprehension in his eyes. Both had her drunk with yearning for something she wasn't sure she could quite understand. "Thanks- I think." Sookie said dryly. "I wish I could take credit, but I have no idea what just happened or what I did." Eric nodded as if he suspected as much. "Let's search the house then as we don't know how long this-" He struggled for a moment to find the right word to describe the anomaly. "event will last." Sookie was about to agree when a thought hit her making her grab his forearm and stop him from moving towards the stairs. "Hey- why aren't you affected too?" Eric shrugged. "Don't know." He smirked. "Maybe because I'm already in frozen animation." Sookie laughed spontaneously almost against her will. "Touché." "Shall we" He cocked his eyebrow; tipping his chin at the direction she'd prevented him in going. Sookie looked down at the grip she had on his arm and her girly bits had a spread of warmth. To say she was blushing was a bit of an understatement. "Yeah…" Her hand dropped from his arm like it was a hot iron and she nervously tittered. "Lead the way." Eric's smile was full fang, almost as if he knew what he was doing to her, but in a gentlemanly manner, he didn't taunt her for it- much to her relief. They made way to search the entire house, top to bottom, with no luck in locating where they were keeping Jason. Sookie wanted to scream in frustration but Eric was cool as a cucumber. He stopped every so often to close his eyes and she knew it was to rely on his other senses to try and find him. She couldn't help but study him. His marbled features and hard physique were so enticing, that at the third stop in their search, Sookie found herself very against her character, feeling like maybe- just maybe, Eric was more "her type" than she'd allowed her conscious mind to acknowledge. After what felt like an eternity in waiting and fighting the itch of her fingers to reach out and touch his face in exploration, his arctic eyes opened suddenly. "He's not here- his scent is however, which I find perplexing. Dawn approaches Sookie; I must go to ground soon…" He was apologetic but Sookie understood defeat when she saw it. She bowed her head in admission. "I know." "I promise you however, that whatever it takes, I am committed to finding him Sookie." Eric practically whispered. "All that I am…is at your disposal." She felt the flesh of her arms and neck break out in goose bumps. Something in his statement reminded her of a vow. But not just to her cause of finding Jason, although that's what the words meant. Sookie felt deep down to the marrow of her bones that Eric was declaring something altogether different- to her. The quality of it excited her. She decided she trusted him. "I know you are Eric and I am grateful…" Sookie swallowed the lump in her throat and blinked back the tears threatening to spill. "To have you." She finished weakly, looking away from his intense stare. Sookie remembered the time freeze and worried out loud. "What the heck am I gonna do about this now?" She walked back to inspect the Hot Shot trash in the foyer, leaving Eric's side and the uncomfortable conversation they were having without directly having it. "Do ya think it's like this everywhere?" Sookie wondered to Eric, who had followed her lead once again to be at her side. "There is one way to find out." He suggested, taking his cell phone out and flipping it open to make a call. Eric rapidly spoke in his native tongue to which Sookie could only guess was Pam. He was very business-like and exuded power with each clipped foreign syllable his voice formed. Sookie once again found herself unconsciously moving closer to him like a moth to flame. She wondered what it would feel like to have that kind of passion and absoluteness directly towards her. To have her body and entire self-dominated by someone not used to hearing "no" for an answer. Not that he'd even take it for an answer anyway. They're entire history together was evidence of that fact. Eric wasn't the type to give up on anything or anyone he wanted. And if memory served her right, he wanted her. Sookie's nipples were hardening of their own accord and that familiar hum was returning to her central nervous system. She was giving an upturned smile to him and had actually reached over to clutch his free hand. Eric tensed and cocked a brow at her quizzically and with a short grunt ended his call. "Well what'd she say?" Sookie asked with a grin of admiration. As much as Eric wanted and craved this type of attention from her, something of the shine of her eyes and the light teasing school girl tone of her voice sent off warning bells within him. For now he decided to play along, but knew somehow this wasn't the Sookie he'd come to know over the past couple years. "It is as you feared." Eric said solemnly. "All humans are like these ones here." He acted like it was nothing at all for her to close the gap between them, and throw her arms around his middle in a fierce hug. Eric actually returned it. "Oh Eric I never meant for this to happen." Sookie sniffed. "I just wanted to bring Jason back home…does Pam know how far it reaches?" She looked up with watery eyes and rested her chin on his chest. If Eric could gulp, he would have now. It was bad enough he could hardly control the erection pressing with growing speed uncomfortably in his pants. "She will debrief us when we arrive to Fangtasia with more information." Sookie rose up on her tippy toes and moved her arms up to Eric's neck, pulling his upper half down. She shyly smiled and licked her lips before bringing her mouth to crash onto his. Lips battled with skill playing tug of war. There was real passion building with insurmountable velocity between them. Eric hoisted her up by her rounded bottom to wrap her legs around his waist as the kiss deepened to include tongue. Her chest heaved as she broke away, arching her back to expose her neck to him. "Hurry up and take us home Eric." Sookie panted. Nuzzling her cleavage and walking out the front door Eric couldn't agree more, it was time to go. He knew he'd have to call the midget doctor Ludwig when he got there but decided to enjoy this "new" Sookie in the meantime. He internally sighed and wondered if he'd have strength to want to fix her, especially when she giggled and bit his ear, suckling on the lobe while grinding in a not so ladylike manner. "Odin hjälpa mig." Eric muttered aloud, taking off into the twilight skies towards home. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
