The scruffie one, off to the right, was conversing with an older man. She scanned him for her arrow, but found nothing. Gradually, she moved her frame backwards into the woods, looking for more cover when she noticed movement in the corner of her eye. The movement was slow, but strategic. It wasn't a walker. Without thinking, Naomi reacted. She dropped her bow and shrugged out of her backpack and quiver, launching herself at the man before he realized she had been right near him in the brush.
Unfortunately, the force of Naomi's attack wasn't enough to drop him. She dropped and rolled a few feet away as he spun around to tear her off of his back, his fingers just barely missing a good grasp on her hair.
"The hell.." His guttural voice grunted as he faced his attacker, seeing the small frame crouched and ready for another attack with a small knife in hand. Before he even registered her movement, she flung herself at him once again. She knew due to the size difference that she wasn't going to beat him on strength alone, but she was a lot swifter and used that to her advantage.
She aimed her knife towards his leg just as he stepped back out of her way, but she knew it had cut through his pant leg and grazed his skin. He let out a hiss of anger and spun, hitting the girl with a closed fist. She stumbled backwards catching herself just in time before falling onto her back. She recovered a bit too late and he shoved his hands into her shoulders, forcing her to the ground.
The man dropped to his knees and straddled Naomi to keep her from kicking her legs out and grabbed her wrists, pinning them above her head. His eyes widened at the realization of who his attacker was. "I just 'bout got my ass laid out by a girl."
Naomi still struggled beneath him, rolling her multicolored eyes at his surprise over her gender. "Yeah, you did."
"Let go." He instructed, glancing at her small fist clamped tightly around the knife she'd cut his leg with. When it was obvious she wasn't loosening her grip, he squeezed her wrist so hard that it physically hurt her to hold onto it any longer; she allowed a slight noise to escape her lips as she released her hold.
Just as she dropped the knife, there was motion coming towards them from the direction that the group resided in. Naomi peaked over the broad shoulders of her captor to see two guns pointing directly at them, she cleared her throat to allow the stranger who was straddling her to bring his focus there.
He glanced over his shoulder at his group-mates, eyes looking them over before landing a cold and furious gaze on the small little beast that resided below him. "Look what I found creepin' in the woods." His voice was raspy and thick with southern drawl.
One of the men lowered his gun long enough to grab her backpack, bow, and quiver which were dropped in a pile not far from where she laid now, holding them carefully before positioning them out of the way so he could repoint his gun in her direction. Once her weapons were secured, her captor pulled himself off of her and yanked her small frame up by her arms, using his free hand to pat over her body slowly to make sure there weren't any knives he didn't know about. He pulled three out of the waistband of her jeans.
Pushing the girl further towards the camp, her eyes landed on the familiar scruffie man whom she had saved earlier, and as he looked her over he noticed the eyes. Two different colors. Naomi watched recognition cover his expression and she narrowed her gaze. "I want my arrow back." She spoke clearly, her eyes not leaving his as she locked him in a cold gaze.
The man she attacked shoved her forward as she spoke, pushing her the rest of the way out of the woods and into the clearing that was their camp. Suddenly the one carrying her weapons spoke up, his voice was deep and he had a thick head of black hair. "You know this girl Rick?" His question was directed at the one with her arrow.
