Summary: The boys go to Animal Kingdom

Sam woke up to the horrid rendition of 'Circle of Life' that Dean was singing in the shower. He knew that it was a mistake to ask the castmembers to stock the cabin with every Disney movie possible. Dean had discovered 'The Lion King' at about five in the morning after a nightmare had woken him up. Sam had to admit that he was grateful that it just interrupted his sleep and didn't cause any sleepwalking.

He laid there and listened to Dean for awhile before deciding he couldn't hear poor Phil being butchered any longer. He got up and started yelling rude comments through the door. The singing stopped and Dean came out a moment later with a towel slung low around his waist and another one around his neck. "You're not very happy today."

Sam smirked. "Not when I wake up to your imitation of strangling a cat..."

Dean shrugged and looked disappointed. "I was just trying to bug you. I don't sing that bad. You know that." He walked into the bedroom to start getting dressed.

Sam frowned and went into the bathroom. The comment was bothering him because he had no idea why Dean would think that he would know if he could-

Sam gasped, letting the water soothe him into remembering.

"Dean!" Sam yelled out as he woke up from another nightmare.

He was barely aware of someone leaving his room quickly and swearing. He thought it was his mother, but it couldn't be, could it?

Just as he was about to yell out again, Dean was next to his bed. "Sammy...it's okay...it's fine..."

At ten years old, Dean was used to taking care of his little brother and did a good job of it. Sam had never reached a point where he called for their father because Dean was the one who always made things better. "It was just a nightmare, Sammy."

Sam shook his head. "No, Dean. It was real. I saw Aunt Cindy turn into a monster."

Dean frowned. Sam knew Dean hated when he called the woman they were staying with by the name 'Aunt' Cindy. Their dad's latest plan had been to keep coming to her house when they had a chance to give Sam a mother figure.

Dean had told Sammy that he didn't even know what a mother was so what was the point, but he kept his mouth shut to John.

"You have to go to bed, Sammy. Cindy gets real mad when you cry and wake her up."

As if on cue, the woman knocked lightly on the door and opened it. "Boys...get to sleep, okay? Dean, I need you to help me clean up this mess in the kitchen when you're done."

She walked in long enough to ruffle Sam's hair and make him giggle and kiss Dean's cheek. "I'll see you in a bit." She walked out, quietly closing the door.

Dean furiously wiped his cheek and glared at Sam. "Don't laugh when she tickles you! She's not mom!"

Sam stuck out his bottom lip. "But she's nice and-"

Dean put his hand over Sam's mouth. "No more talking, okay? She's not mom." He crawled into bed with his little brother. "Want me to sing you a song? Will that help?"

Sam nodded.

Dean began to sing an old lullaby that he found one day when fighting a vengeance demon. The song had calmed the beast long enough for his father to exorcise it.

Over in Killarney
Many years ago,
Me Mither sang a song to me
In tones so sweet and low.
Just a simple little ditty,
In her good ould Irish way,
And l'd give the world if she could sing
That song to me this day.

Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, hush now, don't you cry!
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, Too-ra-loo-ra-li,
Too-ra-loo-ra-loo-ral, that's an Irish lullaby.

Oft in dreams I wander
To that cot again,
I feel her arms a-huggin' me
As when she held me then.
And I hear her voice a -hummin'
To me as in days of yore,
When she used to rock me fast asleep
Outside the cabin door.

Dean sang quietly and slow, dragging the song out into a heartfelt ballad. Sam closed his eyes and listened to the beautiful voice, sinking into a dreamless sleep.

Sam turned off the shower after rinsing his hair and wondered why that memory seemed wrong somehow. He couldn't put his finger on it, but decided to ignore it for now. He dressed quickly and walked out to join his brother and froze.

Dean was lying on the couch reading in the pair of jeans that Sam had worried were too big. They were alright, but Dean had needed to pull on a belt and the jeans still hung low. His tan stomach was showing where his white tee had ridden up and Sam felt his own gut clench in an effort to quench his erection at the sight. He yanked his tee shirt down to hide the evidence of his desire and cleared his throat. "Ready?"

Dean smiled and stood up. "Yeah, more than ready." They left and caught the bus to Animal Kingdom. Dean was looking at the brochure and Sam was carrying the backpack that he knew they would need that day. He had bottled water for each of them and suntan lotion.

I hope he lets me rub him down...Stop! Stop thinking that way! Crap... He noticed that Dean had started a conversation with one of the young women on the bus. He wasn't being flirtatious at all, but Sam wondered what was going on. He decided to focus a bit on what he was saying to her.

"Yeah, we're here on a vacation. We needed it." He flashed a smile at Sam. "You know how lovers can be..."

Sam turned bright red and the girl practically passed out. Dean moved toward him and put his arm around Sam and leaned close to whisper to him. "Here...we can be anyone we want." He kissed his cheek lightly. "Unless you don't want that..."

Sam hadn't even thought about the freedom that this trip could give them. He smiled in response. "It's all I want, Dean." He started to press himself against Dean when the other man shoved him back lightly.

"Kids vacation place...discreet, okay?" He smirked.

Sam just nodded and hoped they would get to their destination soon before he gave the passengers on the bus a vacation photo op they'd never forget.

--------------------------------------------

When they got off the bus they headed into the park. A quick bag search was all that they had to deal with before the ticket counter. Dean was nearly giddy when they finally got past the group of people and sat to look at the brochure. Sam smiled. "What first?"

Dean perused the brochure with as much seriousness as he looked through their father's journal. "Dino Land!"

Sam's eyes widened. "Well...alright..." He walked with Dean through the park to Dino Land and couldn't believe that Dean had his nose buried in the brochure the whole time. He looked up a few times wondering what Dean would say when he saw the Tree of Life, but figured that would come later. They finally made it to Dino Land and Dean went wild. He dragged Sam on Primeval Whirl and they spun and spun until Sam thought he would puke.

Then Dean ran over to Dinosaur and the two of them had a great time looking at all the exhibits before getting on the ride. It was frightening and was themed as a journey into the past to capture a dinosaur. Unfortunately Dean tried to get up and wrestle the giant carnotaur at the end, but Sam kept a firm grip on his arm.

Sam thought they were finished, but the fun was just beginning. Dean insisted on going on TriceraTop Spin and nearly made Sam gag while he made the tiny dinosaur go up and down and up and down with the little lever in the front. The little five year old who was in the same car ended up making Dean's day by letting him pick whether to tilt the car forward and back and the two talked strategy throughout the ride to make things as interesting as possible. Sam just giggled between gags and almost succeeded in leaving Dino Land until the five year old tugged on Dean's pants.

Dean squatted down and smiled at the boy's father who was patiently indulging his son. "You wanna play in the boneyard?"

Dean laughed. "Kid, I live for it." He took the child's hand and the two walked toward the playground. Sam and the father, Tim, sat on the steps and talked while Dean and the child, Eddie, dug through the non dirty sand to find the dinosaur skeleton. At one point Dean came over to Sam and looked amazed.

"Shit, Sammy...this stuff is sand...but not dirty...can you believe it?" He put some of the material on him and it just fell off. He continued to do this and then insisted that Sam do the same. Eventually, Eddie dragged him off to pull the sand out of the eye socket of a large dinosaur skull.

Within an hour they had all parted ways and were walking out of Dino Land. That's when Dean looked up and saw something that made his heart pound. "That has got to be the coolest climbing tree ever created." He stopped and Sam looked at him.

"It's not a real tree, but it is kind of cool. It's called the Tree of Life..."

The two Winchesters had a ball the rest of the day. They looked at different animals and Dean loved the naked mole rats. The Flights of Wonder show was fun. Dean was extremely interested in the different types of birds and wanted to stay for another show, but Sam finally convinced him to leave when he pointed out that they'd spent the whole day there already.

They were nearly to the exit when Dean gasped. "Mickey! Shit!....Sam, it's Mickey Mouse!"

Sam gaped when he saw Safari Mickey walking into the park. He was about to laugh it off when he noticed Dean running for the cue line.

Dean managed to get third in line and waited and waited. He finally got up to Mickey and got an autograph in the notebook he had shoved into the bag. Then he yelled at Sam to join him and they had someone take a picture of the two of them. Sam had a look of daazed confusion the whole time and Dean just grinned from ear to ear.

They finally got on the bus and Dean just couldn't settle down. He looked up at Sam and winked. "I'm in a really good mood, Sammy."

Sam was still slightly out of it, but that snapped him to attention and he studied Dean. "How good?"

Dean just smiled. "Yeah...you know...."

Sam just thought one thing. "God bless Mickey Mouse..."

TBC...

Sorry it was so cheesy, but I wanted to give them some fun. :-)
