Animal Attraction

Janeway laid listening to Chakotay's heart beat as he slept soundly. She couldn't help but wonder why he turned faster than she did. It could have something to do with the fact that he was conscious for all of it and she wasn't. There was a feeling of regret about doing this to him and she had to tell him she was sorry for all of it. Oh she knew that it was some primal need to make Chakotay hers. Who wouldn't want him. He was a prime example of everything male. He made her blood sing with want and it was something she barely knew. There was something in her that wanted to forget the protocol and just have her way with him. It was so tempting and there were times when she would have given into that temptation. 'And oh what a temptation he is.' Kathryn thought and did something that she had always wanted to do. She traced the lines of his tribal marking. It had always drawn her attention and she wanted to trace them so bad. So she indulged herself. Kathryn lightly traced the dark blue lines. She made sure her touch was feather light and it had Chakotay moving his head from side to side in his sleep.

"Stop thinking." Chakotay mumbled.

"I can't. Chakotay we have to talk." Janeway felt dread as he opened his eyes and narrowed his gaze at her. He probably thought that it was going to be about Protocol and the proper distance a Captain had to maintain.

"What?"

"What I did was wrong..." Janeway started to say and Chakotay rolled away from her.

"I 'll get my stuff and go." His voice betrayed the hurt he felt in his heart.

"I meant for biting you." Janeway whispered and the silence in her quarters made her words resound on the walls halting Chakotay from leaving the bed. She looked up and moved closer to him nip his shoulder. "I never wanted to do this to you, but now that you're here..."

"Kathryn don't play games."

"I'm not..."

Chakotay turned to her and pushed her back into the mattress. "Why do I feel such a burning hunger for you?"

"I don't know. Right now i want to let myself fall into you and forget Voyager."

"What do you think this thing is?" Chakotay asked bringing his mouth closer to hers.

"Something primal."

"I got that. Though thanks for sharing." Chakotay joked and bit her bottom lip.

"It doesn't mean that I don't feel bad."

"You don't have to. This isn't the first time that we have been infected with the same virus."

"I know, but last time wasn't my fault, Chakotay." Kathryn said and raised her hips to entice him closer to her again.

"We should probably get some sleep."

"I don't want to sleep. I want to...."Kathryn started to say but Chakotay covered her mouth with his free hand.

"Sleep now and tomorrow we can talk about what to do about.... this. Whatever this is." Chakotay rolled Kathryn over and brought her back to his chest. Though it was hard to sleep when he could feel every inch of her pressed to his flesh. when he first met her there was something more to her than the role she held as captain. It was her as a person Chakotay was interested in. She seemed to sad but now here they were together after seven years and he nearly blew it by being with Seven. What didn't need to happen was the injuries Kathryn had suffered. There was no need for her pain. If Chakotay could he would have stopped this from happening. If he had done that then this is somewhere they never would have gotten.
