Quiet... The silence in the dark, cool courtroom was welcome after a particularly heavy case load, we had all worked hard and deserved an early night off, this was one of those few occasions I didn't mind being alone for a while, it was refreshing to be able to have just my thoughts as companions. A small thrill ran through me as I thought back to earlier in the evening, Dan must have been teasing me about the girlfriend bit.. for a moment I wish he hadn't been. I couldn't lie and say I wasn't incredibly attracted to him, those big, puppy dog eyes.. his silky voice.. even the masculine cologne he wore just smelt sexy.. Oh, who was I kidding.. I had a crush. And I hated admitting it to myself, because that meant it was true, and if that was true that made me.. Mrs.SnakewithLegs, eugh.. this could possibly be the most unfair thing that had ever happened to me.. maybe that was a tiny bit dramatic, or alot. Exhaling deeply through my nose, I stretched my neck from side to side to ease my stiff muscles, catching a glimpse of the clock I nearly jumped off of the bench I was sitting on. 8:45 p.m Fifteen minutes to freshen up and race down to the restaurant and make sure I arrived after him, loosening my hair from the bun I had piled on top of my hair and shaking out the smooth waves the style had created, tugging a mirror out of my purse to check my face.. okay, nothing wrong there.. liner was still perfect, no shine.. just a little bit of pink gloss and I was hurrying down the corridor and towards the elevator.- You need to be logged in to leave a review for this story.You need to be logged in to leave a review for this story.
