"NO! NO! ABSOLUTELY NOT!" Sharona screamed after finally finding her voice.
Benjy glared at his mother angrily. "I thought you said I could be whatever I wanted to be."
"YEAH! Well that was before I knew you wanted to have people shoot at you for a living!"
Honestly, Julie was more than happy for the distraction of Sharona yelling at Benjy - which Sharona most certainly hadn't held herself back from doing.
She was grateful that Benjy had dragged his mother out of the room to argue though. It was starting to give her a headache.
But having her mother look at her with guilt in her eyes...as if she had caused what happened... was eating at Julie.
'Sweetie are you sure you're ok?" Natalie asked as she carefully placed her hand over the very bruised area of Julie's neck with a grimace as Julie winced at the contact.
"Mom...I'm fine. I was more scared of what he was going to do to you...and Mr. Monk." Julie said with a wince as she remembered the warning John had said about Mr. Monk needing inside help if he ever expected to get back on the force.
"Mom...do you think...do you think John could stop Mr. Monk from becoming a homicide detective again?"
"What?! Of course he couldn't." Natalie immediately shook her head...until she remembered the way the Captain had screamed Adrian's name just before ending the call.
Natalie's eyes widened at the thought of Adrian going after John.
She had seen Adrian physically fight before. He had a brut strength and capability of fighting that most people wouldn't expect. People forgot that he had indeed been a detective on the force. He had gone through training just like every other police officer.
Even she had forgotten that he was capable of certain physical abilities. She most definitely knew he was MORE than capable now. She most definitely knew his stregth and capabilities with first hand knowledge now.
Natalie tried to stop herself from blushing, but knew her cheeks pinkened slightly.
Now was not the time to be thinking about it. If Adrian had been listening in on the conversation she knew that he would confront John.
Natalie grabbed her cellphone once more, completely alerting Julie that something could cause Mr. Monk from becoming a detective again.
"Pickuppickuppickup..." Natalie whispered over and over, praying that the Captain had been yelling at Adrian for anything other than what she thought he had.
When it went to voicemail Natalie feared that she was right.
But she couldn't do anything about it.
As much as she loved Adrian she wasn't about to leave Julie.
"Mom. What's going on?" Julie asked with that oh so familiar look of suspicion on her face.
"Nothing! Just..a...I can't get the captain on the phone. Was wondering why they weren't here yet." It was the best Natalie could come up with, even though it had just been fifteen minutes since she had talked with the captain.
Of course the raised brow from Julie proved it was the wrong thing to say.
"Really? You called him fifteen minutes ago. Even with a siren there's no way they could get here in less than fifteen minutes mom."
"Has it only been fifteen minutes?" Natalie asked with so much fakeness in her voice as well as her smile that Julie rolled her eyes.
"Mom...I'm not a kid anymore. If something is wrong... you need to tell me." Julie gave her mom a pointed look.
Natalie stared at her daughter. Even with a bruised neck she was glaring in anger that she was keeping something from her. If only she knew what she had kept from her in the last few months.
"Mom!" Julie exclaimed trying to draw her mom out of the inner thoughts that were keeping her from telling her the truth.
"I thought I heard the captain scream out at Mr. Monk before he got off the phone with me." Natalie finally said as she glanced down at her cellphone.
"And...you think he heard what you said?" Julie said slowly, trying to understand why her mother was worried.
"He might go after John...and...I...I don't know. But if there was a way for him to permanently be disqualified for reinstatement...it might just be physically assaulting another officer." Natalie voiced the thought that had her suddenly very concerned if Adrian had heard her conversation with the Captain.
"Would he go after him? I mean...you just told the captain that he grabbed me and that I'm bruised up. Do you think..." Julie stopped as she looked away, embarassed at her own thoughts.
"Sweetie...what is it?" Natalie pressed.
Julie couldn't raise her eyes to her mother when she asked the question.
"Do you think he loves me... enough to fight him?" Finally her eyes looked up at her mother.
"Julie...of course he loves you." Natalie said immediately, instantly moving to hug her daughter.
Julie hugged her mother back tightly, her insecurity at the way Monk felt about her making Natalie hold her back just as tightly.
"He's never said it though." Julie whispered against her mother's shoulder.
"Aw sweetheart he's just...he's just scared to say it! I mean...he's...he's never said it to me...but I know he loves me."
Of course the second she said the words Natalie felt herself blush fully, and of course Julie pulled away to look at her eye to eye after that statement.
"You do?" Julie asked with a teasing smirk.
"Julie..."
"Mom..."
"It's very..."
"Complicated?! Mom...you're with him almost 24,7. I mean...he's useless without you. And he knows it! And what I saw a few weeks ago on this very couch tells me you've been keeping me out of the loop on how you feel about him for a while." With that Julie bounced her eyebrows making Natalie turn completely crimson.
God what did she see?!
"You were wrapped around him pretty snuggly, and he was holding you back. He brought me to bed when I fell asleep on the couch next to him...but he stayed with you."
With those last words Julie raised a brow with a little smirk.
"Julie..."
"Mom...I'm not a little girl. Adult tic-tacs... remember?! And...well...he's the closest thing I've had to a father since daddy died. I'm waiting for my Trudy because of him. He's taught me a lot over the years. Life lesson stuff us kids don't really want to think about but..." Julie stopped and really started looking at her mother, her eyes seeming to glaze over as she thought of the things she had learned from the dysfunctional man she wanted to claim as a father.
"He's taught me to be who I am. Be true to myself...and not change despite what other people want."
Natalie smiled...Adrian Monk definitely did not change because that's what others wanted.
"He's taught me that you have to fight and work for what you want...even when everything and everyone is against you. That being brave when you're scared out of your mind is worth more than being rich and famous. That real love doesn't stop when someone's gone. "
The far away look on Julie's face made the smile on Natalie's face slowly disappear. Julie was mentally going through what now appeared to be a huge list of life lessons. Things that she herself had not realized her daughter was learning from the man who normally drove her crazy.
"Mom? Is he going to be dissapointed in me?" Julie asked softly.
"What are you talking about?" Natalie asked completely confused at the sudden twist her daughter's mind had taken.
"I don't have any proof...that...that John did this. It's just my word against his..." But before Julie could finish explaining her fear did the front door open as the three men they had been waiting for to arrived entered.
The second Monk walked in he saw them sitting on the couch. His eyes glanced from Natalie to Julie...where they stopped as the bright purple bruise forming on her throat contrasted devastatingly so with the cream white skin on Julie's neck.
In a few steps he was in front of Julie, kneeling down and without thought reached up and with his fingertips applied the slightest pressure - asking Julie to tilt her head with his eyes..
The wince she gave was mirrored by him as the outline of John's hand was clearly visible to him.
Natalie watched in fascination as his kind brown eyes turned black with anger.
"That son of a..." The Captain stopped himself just barely as the bruise on Julie's neck all but confirmed that John had put his hands on the girl.
"Captain..." Natalie stood up and moved towards the man she knew could make sure John never stepped foot near them again.
"Natalie we're doing everything we can but there's only soo much I can do without a corroborating witness." Leland said with his head down and his hands on his hips. He couldn't look Natalie in the eye.
Knowing someone was guilty but having no evidence or witnesses to be able to put them away was one of the things he hated about his line of work.
The lengths that they would have to go to keep Natalie and Julie safe when one of their own was the culprit...it meant that they couldn't trust anyone at the station.
"So he's going to get away with this?" Natalie asked angrily.
Julie was staring at Monk's face, and seeing the anger there was afraid it wasn't all for Officer Night...but also for her. She couldn't help but finally ask, "Are you mad at me?"
It took a few seconds but Adrian's black eyes turned brown once more as the question "What?" squeaked out of him at the implication of Julie's feelings.
"I...I couldn't stop him...from...doing this." Julie motioned to her throat.
Adrian said nothing at first as he tried to work through why Julie would think he would ever be mad at her. How could she have stopped him? And then it hit him.
Julie had known from day one that he hated John. That he had distrusted the man immediately. In that moment Adrian Monk knew what Julie was really asking him.
"Julie...this...isn't your fault. You did nothing wrong. And you couldn't possibly have known he was a bad person.."
"You did! You knew right away. When he grabbed me I thought he was..." Julie looked away from Adrian, not able to complete the fear that had enveloped her the moment John grabbed her.
And Monk saw the tears forming in Julie's eyes...and couldn't stand the idea of what the scumbag had done to his Julie. What he could havedone to her making his insides boil with an anger he only thought Trudy's death brought him. How wrong he had been.
Slowly...as only Monk could do with his phobias...he reached up and with firm fingers touched Julie's chin and made her turn to look at him.
Seeing blue eyes that looked soo much like her mother's look at him with such fear made his heart clench.
"Julie...I didn't trust him. Not trusting someone is not the same as knowing they're capable of violence. And if I had thought he was capable of hurting you...or your mother...I wouldn't have let him near either of you."
Julie knew she shouldn't of...but she let a tear drop from her eye as she quickly wrapped her arms around Monk.
Everyone expected Monk to jump up or at least try to scramble away from Julie.
But when they saw Adrian Monk wrap his own arms around Julie, Natalie felt her shock give way to watery eyes as she watched Adrian hug Julie back more intensely then she had ever seen him touch anything.
Stottemeyer and Randy slowly shared a smirk.
Adrian knew instantly that the way he felt about Julie had been this way for a very long time...but his fear of hurting her himself had kept him from even holding her.
Even after what Night had said about Julie...it angered him beyond belief to know that a man like Night had looked at this girl and talked about her as if she was a...
Adrian pulled back from Julie's hug and held her at arms length.
"He didn't touch you anywhere else did he?"
At first Julie was shocked until she realized exactly what Mr. Monk was hinting at. The fear that she had been afraid would happen that morning.
Natalie was instantly filled with dread at the look on Julie's face.
She was instantly by Adrian's side grabbing Julie's hand. "Julie...did he try and..."
"No." Julie stopped her mother from asking the question she didn't even want to hear. She wasn't about to tell them about the way he had forced a kiss on her.
"Julie if he tried anything..." Monk said in a voice none of them had ever heard.
It had an undercurrent of anger and danger none of them had ever associated with Adrian Monk.
"Monk..." Leland warned in a tone that anyone would understand to mean 'watch yourself'.
"He didn't! But...he...he kind of...he threatened you and mom. I...I don't know if he really meant it...but when he..." Julie couldn't finish. Her throat had started to hurt again and her hand went to the sore area as she winced. She had just lied to him and it was as though her body was condemning her for her lie.
But what shocked almost everyone else...was that Monk moved to slightly touch the area himself with a look of such anger that Julie knew Monk was imagining with what kind of strength he had to have grabbed and squeezed to cause the marks.
Adrian heard Night's words in his head once more and saw the smirk on the man's face in his mind. His anger grew as he stared at the evidence that the beast indeed could harm someone he loved.
"Welcome to fatherhood Monk!" Leland's comment also reverberated in his mind. It had been weeks since he had heard Julie's dream state confession. He never thought anyone could look at him as a father figure...but he had learned all those weeks ago that without knowing it. He had been. For the last 8 years he had been involved in Julie's life. He had been in her life almost as long as his own father had been in his.
Adrian looked over at the young man that had sat down next to Julie and it took him just a few seconds to place the familiar face.
"Benjy?"
Benjy's sad face suddenly morphed into a smirk. "Hey Adrian."
"Benjy?" Adrian repeated again, not really certain how the little boy he knew had grown up into the young man before his very eyes.
"Most people just call me Ben now Adrian...but...your family... I don't really care what family calls me." Benjy smirked at Adrian before turning his attention back to Julie.
"Julie I don't think it's a good idea for you and your mom to stay here tonight." Benjy said looking at Julie and then Natalie.
Natalie was about to suggest going to her parents home when Adrian Monk shocked all of them again.
"i'll sleep on the couch. You and Julie can sleep in my bed." Immediately after he said it he didn't notice the shocked look everyone was giving him, instead his mind played out the events of what happened on his bed that very morning. Immediately he knew he would have to change or burn the sheets before Julie went near his bed.
Natalie saw the flush and knew immediately from recent experience that...he was blushing.
Why was he blushing? Was he...was he thinking about what they did that morning at his apartment? Suddenly Natalie felt herself blushing.
"Are you sure? You don't like anyone..." Julie stopped herself from saying he didn't like anyone on his bed, let alone staying in his house with him. It didn't matter that their own house had become a second home to him. The fact was that the apartment she had spent most of her childhood growing up in had never felt like it was a place to let her guard down in.
"Your my family, he doesn't mind sharing with family." Sharona said with a little smirk as little wink to Adrian.
Monk became confused with the wink, but had nodded his head immediately at what Sharona was saying.
"Do you think it'll be safe for them there? Does this guy know where you live?" Benjy asked with a look of concern.
"He's not getting near either of them either way." Adrian Monk said as he looked back at the bruise on Julie's neck.
"Are you sure?" Julie asked again, not having heard from him that he was ok with it. He was particular about soo many things that she didn't want to freak him out. Especially with what was going on."
"He's not getting anywhere near you." Monk said again as he looked up at Julie with a kind of determination he only ever had when bringing down a criminal.
Julie stared into his eyes and finally saw what she wanted to see. A little smirk formed on her lips that reminded Adrian soo much of Natalie that it made him realize just how alike mother and daughter really were. He wouldn't let anyone hurt her. Or Natalie.
Finally he stood and motioned with his head. "Go pack a suitcase. I don't know when you can come back here to get some things. I kind of...made him angrier a little while ago." Adrian admitted and immediately made a fist and rubbed his knuckles showing how red and angry his right hand was from having knocked Night out.
"Oh my God!" Natalie sprang up as did Julie at seeing the almost bloody knuckles.
"It doesn't hurt. At least it didn't until now. ." Monk said as Natalie touched his knuckles. Julie had already sprang up to get the medical kit they kept on hand due to Monk's inability to stop from touching light bulbs and other objects that tended to be pointy.
"Oh God you hit him?! What were you thinking?!" Natalie exclaimed as the evidence of her fears were in front of her face.
When she came back and Monk looked up to see Stotlemeyer with his eyebrow raised as he watched Natalie and Julie tend to his hand Adrian remembered that he shouldn't be the one being tended to.
As Julie was handing her mother the ointments, Adrian grabbed the cream from her.
"Look! Sit down. Tell me exactly what he said." Adrian calmed his words towards the end as he spoke to Julie.
Julie looked at him and then at her mother.
"Monk's right Julie. I need to hear it to get an official statement." Randy said as he finally came closer to inspect Julie closer.
Benjy moved into the kitchen and quickly located a glass and quickly filled it with water and brought it out to Julie as he heard the pain in her voice as she began to talk.
Natalie took the cream from Adrian's hand and continued working on his hand to try and distract herself as Julie had sat down again and began recounting what had happened as Randy sat in a chair close to Monk but across from Julie.
Adrian became angrier the more he heard. His injured hands began to squeeze back Natalie's hand incredibly tightly as he looked and watched Julie tell Randy how he had not just hurt her physically- but intimidated her about him.
When Julie explained how John had grabbed her, Adrian felt Natalie's grip match his own as both felt the bolt of anger go through them.
As Julie finished Randy's own face showed how much he himself found Julie's 'incident' highly angering.
"That's good Jules. Now...I need to take some more photos for evidence. Is that ok?" Randy looked from Julie to Monk and then Natalie. Then he looked back at Julie.
Julie gave a small nod as her throat suddenly hurt just as it had right after Night had grabbed her.
Randy then reached into his pocket to take a small compact camera.
Stottlemeyer had kept a close leash on his own anger as he heard Julie explain what happened. He noticed that Sharona too had a look that spoke of a mama bear ready to attack from having touched her cub. Natalie, well, Natalie looked as if she had been guilty of what had happened.
Stottlemeyer was really impressed with how Monk seemed to be keeping his own anger in check. At the station he had seen one of the rarest things he had ever seen. Adrian Monk enraged.
Even now watching him...
Hello?! Stottelmeyer thought as he saw the way Adrian was gripping Natalie's hand and vice versa.
Anger dissipated in Leland as he watched the two completely unaware that they were holding the other in front of all of them.
Leland knew just how much it took for Adrian to touch someone, and he was physically holding her. Tightly because of his anger, but tightly nonetheless.
Glancing at Sharona, he waited for her to notice his stare, which took a little while. But when she did he motioned towards the duo.
Sharona didn't understand at first until Leland subtly took his own hands and enclosed one hand over the closed hand and then motioned with his eyes to Monk and Natalie.
Sharona looked over at Adrian trying to underst...
OhmyGod! Her eyes bugged out of her head as she saw what Leland had been trying to tell her. It was one thing for Natalie to SAY they had been intimate. But the real evidence of Adrian WILLINGLY touching her. Well that was another.
Looking back at Leland she saw him smirking.
Sharona communicated just with her eyes not to say anything, then gave a little wink and then looked back at Julie.
Leland took a second to understand the little wink. But when he did- he knew it meant that Sharona knew something about this little progress that Monk was demonstrating.
Very interesting! Leland thought.
"Ok. I'm done." Randy said and Monk instantly stood along with Natalie.
"Go put some things together. I'll go get the house ready." Adrian said making Sharona roll her eyes.
"Adrian you don't need to clean the house for Julie and Natalie." Sharona began.
"Yes I do." Monk immediately said.
"No you don't!" Sharona again protested.
"Yes I do." Adrian argued back immediately.
Leland rolled his eyes and quickly grabbed Randy to drag him out of the house and talk about what steps they needed to take next, and avoid the usual way Sharona and Monk fought with each other. Something that he had weirdly missed and immediately remembered why he found it so annoying. They were like siblings always fighting.
"No you don't Adrian! If there is one time that you don't need to..." Sharona tried to talk sense into Adrian while trying to not stare at the way Adrian was still holding onto Natalie's hand.
Julie rolled her eyes as she immediately understood what Benjy had meant when he said that Adrian Monk was his family too. His mother most definitely fought with him like a little sister and older brother. She began to make her way upstairs with Benjy following her without needed to be told that she would need help.
"Yes I do. Sharona I need to clean up the living room and my bed for Julie before she comes to stay..." Adrian tried again, getting incredibly embarassed that Sharona was not dropping the matter. He was beyond mortified that he had not taken the sheets off the bed.
Natalie felt Adrian tightening his hold on her hand, which until that moment she hadn't noticed he had not let go of, when she noticed how he was starting to blush again. That's when it hit her. What he meant by cleaning up the BED for JULIE. She had completely forgotten that he had no time to strip the sheets since Sharona had been there almost immediately afterwards.
"Adrian you don't need to..."
"Yes we do. HE DOES! He...most definitely...NEEDS to clean before Julie and I sleep in his bedroom." Natalie stared directly into Sharona's eyes as Julie had yet to make it up the stairs completely. Hoping against all hope that Sharona understood what she meant and quickly stopped arguing.
And as quick witted as Sharona was, it took her a few seconds for Natalie's intense stare and Adrian's flush complexion to finally register why it was sooooo important that Adrian go clean.
Sharona's mouth dropped open as Adrian's blush all but consumed his face. He looked down to avoid eye contact with Sharona while rubbing his hands together as he tended to do when nervous or embarrassed, and Natalie's face was becoming pink itself as she realized there was no way to avoid confirming what she now suspected to be true.
Sharona's 'eww' face appeared and quickly squashed it as Benjy was also not out of the area.
"Right! I'm sorry. My mistake! God knows with what's going on, but Adrian's cleaning is more important." Sharona said with no real vehemence as she stared after Benjy until he was finally out of sight.
Immediately after watching him go up the stairs Sharona moved closer to whisper to Adrian, "Oh my God Adrian! I can't believe...I mean Natalie told me but I just can't believe you...wait. That means this morning when I came in you two..." Sharona winced and kept her eyes closed as she realized it had to have happened that morning right before she had walked in to find Adrian 'awake' once more.
Adrian ALWAYS changed his bed sheets. Every night! For him to need to clean his 'bed' she knew it meant he hadn't cleaned up immediately after - which in and of itself was saying something.
"Sharona..." Natalie groaned as Adrian was now completely enflamed with embarrassment at Sharona finally understanding WHY he was insistant.
"Natalie told you?" Adrian asked as he looked back at Natalie who blushed even more at the fact that though they had not discussed it, she had spoken to Sharona about what had happened between them without knowing if she should have said anything.
"Not exactly." Both women said together and then shared a small smile towards the other.
"Adrian. There's no need to be embarrassed. Honestly I'm happy for you. I know it doesn't look like it with the..." Sharona's nose wrinkling up again with disgust, "face but...you're...you're like a brother to me. And thinking about you like that just..." Sharona shook her head and she shuddered with a sound of disgust leaving her.
Adrian's face started to become less red as Sharona said something that made him become less focused on what they had been discussing and instead focused on one word she had said.
"Brother?"
"Of course your like a brother to me. You think I would of put up with you for all those years..."
"You kept leaving me." Adrian said as he regained more of his normal color back.
"You're impossible to work for! If I didn't love you like a brother I wouldn't have come back from New Jersey to take care of you again. I wouldn't have been suspicious of Natalie having hurt you and hating her guts these last couple of months because I thought she had done something to you. I know..." Sharona said holding up one of her hands, "that you don't understand why I get so frustrated with you sometimes. And how I always push you, how much you hate me pushing you." Sharona lowered her hand. " But I hated how I could see how amazing you were and how much you could do...and this...this thing you do to yourself - how much it keeps you from having the things you want Adrian. And I'm... I'm happy for you. I can't tell you how happy I am that...that you found Natalie."
Adrian Monk stared at Sharona for a long while, then wonder of all wonders...he let go of Natalie's hand and for a second it looked like he steeled himself and then stopped as he looked Sharona in the eyes.
He heard it in his head again. You're like a brother to me.
"I'm proud of you Adrian. I know it was a HUGE step for you. I just want to see you happy. You deserve it." Sharona said but was shocked at what happened next.
Sharona as beyond shocked as she was watched Natalie look on shocked herself as Adrian enveloped Sharona into a hug.
Sharona closed her eyes and tried to stop from crying and she wrapped her own arms around Adrian, but what he said next had the tears come.
"I always thought that...you didn't want to be my family." Adrian whispered and pulled away from Sharona as the contact was still very much new to him and still a bit stifling.
"Are you kidding me's? Why else do you think I always believed you. I always told you not to say anything because I knew you were right. I always hated it when you were right - but I never doubted you. Ok sometimes I did! But most of the time it was because I didn't want you to be right." Sharona admitted.
Adrian looked at Sharona who gave him her famous little smirk, and said nothing for a few seconds, trying to say he loved her back - but something stopped him.
Fear.
Why was he still fearful?! Why couldn't he just say it. She said it to him! She said she loved him! Why couldn't he just...
"I feel the same about you." Adrian couldn't believe he had managed to say the words.
Looking up he could feel how both Sharona and Natalie were looking at him as it was the closest either of them had ever heard him talk about how he cared about anyone either than Trudy or Leland.
Sharona was completely flabbergasted at hearing Adrian admit any kind of feelings.
Hell. She knew he cared about her...but...he never said anything even remotely close to this.
"You're my family Sharona."
Sharona tried to keep herself from crying and knew immediately that it was still the same Adrian Monk as he pulled away and became extremely uncomfortable as she cried in front of him.
Natalie was soo proud of him that she wanted to kiss him right then and there for being brave enough to say those words to Sharona.
It was then that Leland and Randy came back in the house.
Both immediately stopping at the sight of Sharona crying and Monk looking completely uncomfortable.
"We were only gone for five minutes." Leland said in exasperation.
"No. They're...they're happy tears Captain." Sharona said with a smile and a little nod.
"I really need to go home and start cleaning Captain. if you could stay here with Julie I'd..."
"Monk you don't even have to say it. Randy! You take the back of the house and I'll take the front." Leland said as he moved to place himself in front of the windows in front of the house and Randy made his way past the small group giving Sharona a little look of concern but moved towards the back of the house.
Natalie let out a huge sigh as Adrian made his way past Leland with a pat on the back from Leland and a slight jolt from Monk for the pat as per usual.
Monk stopped and turned to see why Natalie still had not moved, when Sharona read the expression on Natalie's face.
It seemed as if Natalie was now afraid of being alone with Adrian after their 'nothing happened' became known to her.
"Natalie you go help Adrian and I'll put some of your clothes in a bag for you." Sharona knew she was putting Natalie on the spot, but she knew that Adrian wanted Natalie and not her to 'help' him clean up.
Sharona almost gagged thinking about it and thankfully stopped herself.
"Are you sure? I mean you don't even know..." Natalie tried to get out of leaving her daughter behind. It didn't matter that the Captain was personally seeing to it that she stay safe and guarded. Leaving her alone to go be with...Adrian...alone. Well that...that spelled trouble with a capital 'T.'
"I'm sure Julie can help me find anything that I can't." Sharona interrupted Natalie's refusal. Giving her a small little smile Sharona continued.
"Now you and Adrian take your time cleaning, but not too long." Sharona gave Natalie a little wink and Natalie fought not to blush extremely brightly at what Sharona was NOT so secretly suggesting.
"Natalie!" Monk almost yelled for her to hurry up as he was now focused on returning home and cleaning his bed as fast as possible before returning and making sure Julie was safe. He wasn't thinking at all about being alone in his apartment with Natalie.
She didn't know what would happen the second they were.
