Sookie carefully maneuvered her two door Gremlin along the road that lined the Moss’ plantation property. She kept her headlights off as she stopped just a bit before the house. We climbed out and began sneaking along the fence line. Bill and Eric were going to meet us here. Sure enough, we spied their familiar profiles. The four of us crept up to the house. There was one guard guarding the front door. Eric crept up behind him and grabbed his head, violently jerking it to the left. He dropped to the floor dead. Eric motioned for us to continue. We entered the house. It was quiet. “Where was Sam?” Bill asked me. I closed my eyes, envisioning the room. “Upstairs,” I whispered to him. We slowly climbed the stairs. We checked each room carefully until we found him. My heart leapt into my throat. I went to rush toward him, but Eric threw out an arm to stop me. “We don’t know if this room is monitored or booby trapped,” he said looking at me. I could see Sam was still breathing but it was shallow. “I will go first,” Eric said and began cautiously approaching Sam on the mattress. Eric reached Sam and crouched down beside him. “Trap,” Sam croaked out thickly. “It’s a trap!” Eric said and just managed to stand up as silver chain wrapped around his throat. He hissed and dropped to his knees. Bill went to lunge for Eric, but he too was incapacitated by silver around his wrists and neck. A male werewolf backhanded Sookie and she went flying. She landed unconscious on the floor. Bill hissed angrily, flashing his fangs. A female werewolf stepped over to me from an adjoining room. Someone grabbed me from behind and pinned me against him, his arm under my throat. The female smirked. “Well well. The infamous Elizabeth,” She purred. “It’s amazing that this piece of shit here actually cares for you.” She motioned to Sam. Sam let out a curse at her. “You’re a threat to us, Elizabeth,” the female said as she paced in front of me. “You can see the future and you know what we want to do. We want to make sure that the vampires don’t get equal rights. It would throw things out of wack and not to mention it’s immoral. We killed everyone close to you, or so we thought those two losers by the lake were you, but oh well. One little mistake.” “Why the fuck do you care about vampires?” I spat at her. “Their our enemy honey,” the female said. “Well not to mention someone paid us a hefty amount of money to stop you. Sorry I can’t tell you who it was. Neal here is going play with you for a while, while your precious shifter watches you die. Have fun.” She waved and left the room. The man behind me pushed me forward. I landed on my hands and knees in front of Sam. His eyes were locked on mine. I felt my body shaking violently as I knew what was happening behind me. I kept my eyes on Sam, not wanting to see the man changing into a wolf. I felt him yank me to my feet. He threw me against the wall. I slammed into a picture, causing it to fall. I landed in a heap. Seeing Sam gave me strength. I shakily got to my hands and knees and faced Neal. He was finishing the change. A black wolf stood there. Its lips were pulled back, revealing yellow canines and incisors. It snarled at me and pinned its ears back. My lip was bleeding but I didn’t care. “Fuck you,” I spat at the wolf. The wolf snarled and lunged at me. All four paws hit me in the chest, knocking me backwards. The wolf stood over me. It’s jaws snapped over my throat. I frantically kept it away, using my arm to press against is throat. It was too strong. The wolf over powered me. I felt its jaws sink into my throat. I screamed and felt warm blood flowing. SAM I watched in anguish as the wolf bit down on Liz’s throat. Her scream was cut off as the wolf gave a violent tug. Her scream was cut off and she made a gurgling noise. Blood flowed staining her uniform tee shirt and pooled on the floor. Rage surged through me. I painfully got onto my hands and knees. The wolf released Liz’s throat. Blood stained its muzzle and teeth as it snarled at me. Using the rage, I called the shift. Within moments, I was a tiger. I roared and lunged for the wolf. I swiped at it using my paw. Thick nails raked long gashes in the wolf’s side. It let out a whimper and snarled again. I pounced on it, sinking my four sharp canines into its throat. I violently tossed it from side to side. The wolf’s body went limp. I tossed it toward the window. The body of the werewolf crashed through it. I shifted back into my human form. I collapsed near Liz. Sookie had awoken and quickly removed the silver from Bill and Eric’s body. They began slowly healing. I cradled Liz against me. I put an arm behind her head. Blood was still flowing from her throat. Her fingers were stained. Sookie was sobbing hysterically into Bills chest. Eric looked emotional and upset too. “Liz. I am so sorry,” I choked out thickly. “S-Sam,” she gurgled out. “Ssh,” I said shutting my eyes and cradled her against me. Her arms were hanging limply at her sides. “I love you” “I love you…” she coughed as blood flowed from the corner of her mouth. Her body convulsed for a moment before it went limp. Her beautiful hazel eyes stared up at me lifelessly. “Oh God no,” I sobbed hugging her against me. I pressed my face into her hair and cried. “No no no.” I heard Sookie’s sob of hysteria. I looked up at Bill and Eric. “Can’t you do something?” I asked them through my tears. Eric and Bill looked at one another. “She would have to be turned,” Eric said quietly. “She is already dead. Our blood would have to fill her now. She will become vampire. She cannot go back to her family.” “She doesn’t have any family anymore,” I sobbed. “But I cannot not have her in my life. I want her to remain at Merlotte’s and work for me.” “She cannot…” Bill began but Sookie angrily pounded on his chest. “Shut up Bill!” Sookie sobbed “She is my best friend! I don’t care if she’s vampire and working with me but she cannot not be in our lives anymore! Just turn her for fucks’ sake! We want her to be at work and still in our lives!” “I will take responsibility for her,” I choked out as I gently placed a hand on the side of her face. I looked at Bill. Bill must’ve seen the pure anguish on my face because he sighed. “Very well. I will turn her,” he said at last. “No,” Eric said holding out his arm. “I shall turn her. You have that young Jessica to train. I will be her maker.” Bill nodded. “Is this alright Sam?” “Yes,” I sobbed hysterically. Eric approached me. I was clinging to Liz’s body. Eric gently reached for her body. I hugged her against me more “I will take care of her until she awakens. I promise.” He said earnestly looking into my eyes. I very slowly and reluctantly allowed Eric to take Liz’s body. Blood was on my own throat and chest from Liz but I didn’t care. I saw Eric’s fangs slide down. I turned my face away, not wanting to see him turn Liz. I’d rather have her be a vampire and in my life then dead and not be around anymore. At least she would still be in my life. Sookie was sobbing into Bill’s chest. He had his arms around her holding her. It was all my fault. The next evening at work, I was standing behind the bar, miserably moping the counter top with a rag. Business seemed to go on. Sookie was just slumped into a booth depressed. She let her forehead hit the table top with a loud ‘thud’. Neither of us had the heart to really care about work right now. The door opened. I heard the soft clacking of heels. “Why Sam Merlotte, why the long face?” A voice said. I looked up. Elizabeth stood there. She was absolutely gorgeous. Her blond hair was fluffed around her shoulders. She was wearing a soft white sundress. Her throat was completely normal. Her hazel eyes were the same. She had white strappy shoes on. Her skin was pale of course but she was just simply stunning. She was grinning broadly at me. I leaped over the bar and hurried over to her. I threw my arms around her, hugging her tightly. LIZ I grinned as Sam threw his arms around me, pulling me against him. I hugged him back tightly but carefully. I didn’t want to squish him. Eric had explained everything to me when I woke up in the ground. Mind you, it was a rather unnerving experience. I inhaled Sam’s scent. My whole senses were ten times sharper. Sam was having a hard time letting me go. I heard him sobbing against my shoulder. I closed my eyes too, feeling tears forming in my own eyes. I felt them streaking down my cheeks. “I’m so sorry Liz. It’s all my fault,” He sobbed. “Stop,” I said as I gently pulled back from his embrace. Sam stared into my eyes. He wiped the tears from my face. The tears were blood. “Eric explained everything to me when I woke up,” I said to him softly. “He told me how you were reluctant to let my body go. He told me how much you cared about me that you would rather have me as a vampire then not in your life at all.” Sam nodded. There were still unshed tears in his blue eyes. I leaned in and kissed him softly on the lips. He kissed me back. I heard a squeal as Sookie came rushing at me next and nearly body slammed me. Her arms were wrapped around me tightly. I chuckled softly and hugged her back. “Oh Gosh Liz!” Sookie sobbed. “I’m so glad to see you again.” I hugged her for a bit more and released her. I sensed Eric behind me as he entered the bar. “Wait, there’s something I don’t understand,” Sam said to Eric. “I thought vampires lose their humanity. Liz is perfectly fine.” Sookie was clinging to me. Sam reached over and gently cupped my face with his hand. I stared back at him lovingly. “It is strange,” Eric said slowly. “Liz is as she was when she was a human. Her blood tasted different when I turned her. Perhaps it was because the werewolf had bitten her. I don’t really know. But she is still yours Sam Merlotte. I released her from the maker bond.” Sam looked at him startled. “Why? I mean thank you so much Eric, but I don’t understand,” Sam said confused. Sookie finally managed to peel herself off of me long enough to hug Eric tightly. Eric was awkward as he shyly patted Sookie’s back. “Because I see how much she loves you,” Eric said slowly, avoiding looking at me. “I will admit I care about her as well, but she would not be happy unless you were in her life.” Sam was looking at him utterly bemused and shell shocked. Eric gave a little bow before leaving. Sookie was so happy she went back to work with a bounce in her step. Sam grabbed my hand and pulled me into his office. He closed the door behind him. He grabbed me and kissed me. I kissed him back softly but urgently. He just held me tightly against him. My cheek rested against his chest. He rested his chin on top of my head. He smelled so good. My arms were wrapped around him. “God Liz,” he said thickly. “I was almost ready to give up living without you.” I looked up at him. “Sam, I drove you to go to the werewolves. I was mean and said some harsh things,” Sam shook his head. “You were right. There could’ve been another way to handle it. I was just so overwhelmed with fear for you. I was only thinking about you, not myself,” “But that’s why I love you so much,” I said softly touching his face. I placed a hand on the side of his face. He nuzzled my palm. “When you died in my arms that was an image I will never forget,” he said shutting his eyes against my palm. “You saw me though,” I said slowly. “When I had the vision. Did you see me in the room with you?” Sam gently took my hand and kissed my fingers. “No. But I felt you. Liz I think we are bonded beyond anything known,” I smiled and snuggled up against him again, worming my head under his throat. I could hear his blood rushing through his veins and feel his pulse at the base of his neck. Before I knew it, I felt my fangs slide down. I felt him tense. “You can bite me,” he said quietly. “I don’t mind.” I shut my eyes. “No. I’m not going to use you for that,” I said as my fangs retracted. “I probably need True Blood now.” Sam nodded. “Wait here. I’ll get you an O+, A- and the rest of our stock. See which ones you can drink,” Sam left the office. He came back with the thick red bottles. He handed me one by one. I drank each. I was able to tolerate an A-. “We never went on our date,” Sam said softly standing in front of me. I finished the bottle. I looked up at him. “You still want to go on our date?” I asked softly. Sam nodded. “It’ll be at night of course,” he continued quickly. “You can work the night shift here. I’ll manage during the day.” I smiled and approached him. I placed my palms on his chest and pressed myself against him again, hugging him tightly. His arms wound around me as well. “You’re something else, Sam,” I whispered. “I will never let you go,” Sam whispered, his voice rumbled in his throat. “Well you have to. I gotta get to work,” I joked. Sam chuckled and kissed the top of my forehead. “I love you so much,” “Love you too,” I said warmly and kissed him on the lips passionately. We left the office. I began waiting tables. Suspicious eyes followed me. I heard whispers going around. “He’s got a vampire working for him now? That’s Liz!” “That’s just wrong! He should’ve let her die!” “Shut up all of you!” Sookie shouted at them. “So what she’s a vampire? Sam cared enough about her!” I looked at her. She looked upset. She stormed from the bar. I looked up at Sam. He just looked as baffled as anything. I approached table 7. Hoyt and Jessica were sitting there. I relaxed. Hoyt looked up at me. “Liz? You’re vampire now? What on earth happened?” Hoyt asked. “It’s a long story,” I sighed. “To sum it up, I died in Sam’s arms and he asked Eric Northham to turn me.” Realization dawned on Jessica’s face. “Sam requested that out of love didn’t he?” she asked softly. “He loves you that much.” I nodded. “True Blood hun? A mix right?” Jess nodded beaming at me. I turned to Hoyt. He shook his head. “Nothing for me. I’m not hungry,” he said. I turned and went to head toward the kitchen to put in the order when someone grabbed me from behind. “Well hey there babe? Remember me? You turned down sucking on my dick. That was highly rude,” a familiar voice hissed. I saw Sam getting ready to tense. His eyes were narrowed. I felt my fangs slide down and I winked at Sam. I grabbed the guys arm and flipped him over my body. His back crashed down on top of one of the tables. I loomed over him and flashed my fangs at him. “Well I find you highly rude. Fuck with me again and I’ll do more than just flip you,” I hissed. Terrified the man quickly scrambled to his feet and tore from the bar. My fangs retracted and I gave Lafayette the order. He winked at me. Clearly seeing me as a vampire now didn’t freak him out as much as I thought it would, being he had some bad experiences with vampires. I leaned against the bar. Sam came over and put his face close to mine. “Do you think asking Eric to turn you was selfish of me? Maybe I should’ve let you go. I just couldn’t bear to,” he said thickly. Clearly he had heard the whispers going around. I cupped his face. “Stop. I would’ve done the same for you. I could not live without you,” I said to him softly. “Forget it. OK? Don’t make me glamour you.” Sam just pressed his forehead against mine. I closed my eyes. I had no idea there was still something looming in Bon Temps that wanted revenge.
