Chapter 6
Sliding his baby into the parking space in front of the hotel room they were in for the night, Dean listened to her low rumble for a minute before turning off the engine. Leaning back fully, he shut his eyes and sighed. Right now his thighs ached and his whole groin was still throbbing from what he had done. That was odd, he would admit it. Normally, since he went for the fairer sex, he didn't 'play' as rough as he knew he could. Well, tonight he had decided to branch out. There was this guy at the bar-- not only did he look a little like Sammy, he had the same build and shaggy hair. That was enough to get his attention, of course.
Striking up a conversation with the dude, he kept things on a leash. It wasn’t easy, but he managed. In the dim light of the bar, the dude was almost a dead ringer. Only thing off for him was he had a slight accent that his Sam didn't. That was enough for him to ignore the pull for quite some time. Really, he was having fun just bullshitting around. They talked about all kinds of things and were having a good time. He had been content to let it go by that point, despite the fact that he thought it might be a good substitute for his brother and get rid of some of the tension that was there. However, that all came to an end when he asked the dude's name. When he said Sammy, Dean was done for. For the first time in his life he had actually put the moves on a guy and not because it was case related. As he found out, he seemed to have the same luck with dudes as he did with chicks because they ended up back at Sammy's place for a roll in the sheets. In fact, he had fucked Sammy into the mattress but good. The mere thought that he didn't have to disguise things or could call out his brother's name with no one the wiser had fueled him on. Hence the reason he was now sore as shit. It was a good kind of sore, he could concede that, but it also wasn't right and he knew it. Though he doubted the Sammy he had left not long ago was bothered by any of it. Leaning forward, he rested his head on the steering wheel and let out a pained groaned. No, it wasn't the physical pain that was the problem, it was the mental. He was certain he had just made one of the biggest mistakes of his life. Without even fighting it, he had let himself go there with someone and indulged in it rather than keeping it to fantasies and just jerking off to them. He was certain that was akin to letting the genie out of the bottle. There was probably going to be no way to put it back in now and he had just made the whole fucked up situation even worse on himself than it was before. Sighing, he shook his head without removing it from the steering wheel. Oh, he was a friggin' moron, that's for sure. He had just come back from fucking a guy that he was acting like it was his brother and now he actually had to go into the room his brother was staying in with him. Yeah, this was racking up the shit ain't right points if there ever was something for that. Nor was he sure he could keep doing this without letting on to the real Sammy what was going on or doing something he would regret forever. Sighing, he was just lifting his head off the steering wheel, deciding he needed to go into the room when the sound of someone walking on gravel startled him. Slipping a hand in his coat, putting it on his gun, he looked around then relaxed and nodded when he saw Cas coming his way. At least the angel didn't pop into the backseat again and scare the shit out of him. Motioning for him to get into the car, Dean leaned back and waited, wondering what was going on. When the angel slid into the car, Dean said, making sure to keep a firm tone, “I'm not getting into it with you about what's wrong tonight, Cas. I want to make that clear. If that's what you're here about then you can just go. If it's something else, lay it on me.” Brow furrowing, Cas looked at him and tried to decipher some of what was said. The nuances of the human vocabulary still baffled him to an extent so this wasn't always easy. With Dean, at times, this was even worse. This time, though, he thought he had a handle on the whole thing and nodded then said, “I’m going to fill you in on some information we found out. As it's pertinent to what's going on, I thought you should know.” Since this was 'business', Dean nodded then said, “Alright, what's going on?” Slowly, though he knew Dean would take it badly, Cas filled him in on what he had told Sam earlier. Face growing pale at the thought of meeting up with Alistair again, Dean swallowed a couple times but didn't say a word. As if his life wasn't enough of a nightmare right now, that was coming back to haunt him. Oh, hell no, he did not need this shit right now! When he finished, Cas looked at Dean then said, softly, well, as softly as he could manage, “I know this isn't going to be pleasant for you but I wasn't going to hide it either. You need to know he's around and they are planning something.” Nodding, swallowing the bile that felt like it was starting to rise, and trying to shove the flashbacks that the whole thing was triggering aside, Dean said, “Any idea just what they are planning?” “I only have guesses,” Cas told him truthfully. “Those I won't impart until I have some facts to back them up. I do believe that it involves both you and Sam as a way to push this further.” “Alright, gotcha,” Dean nodded, eyes still having a haunted look to them. “Look, Alistair-- if there is any way for me to avoid coming in contact with him, I want you to try. That won't end well.” He supposed, considering who he was dealing with, he didn't have to explain any of that. With Cas knowing what he did about things that went on down in the Pit, he was certain the angel got the reason why he wanted to avoid another encounter at all costs. “I will try, Dean, but I can't guarantee that. If you're needed, we're going to contact you. However, I'll do what I can to see if I can't make it to where you don't have to,” Cas told him. “I'd appreciate it,” Dean told him, voice slightly uneven. “And we need to keep him away from Sam at all costs.” His thought there was that with what went on, Alistair would give it up to Sam what broke him as a way to drive a further wedge between the two of them to press on with whatever plan they had. No, he couldn't let that happen. “Yes, keeping Sam away from everyone in that faction of this war is prudent,” Cas imparted with a firm nod. Right now, keeping the younger Winchester away was something he had to do and it had to be from both sides. They would figure out something wasn't right if he didn't. Right now that wasn't something that he could allow to happen. It would bring down problems he didn't have plans in place to deal with yet. No, it had to be done, at all costs. Pleased with that, Dean nodded, “Alright, you can take that part on. If something comes up with the rest, I'll deal with that end of things. Just keep Sam away from Alistair.” “I'll make that my personal responsibility,” Cas told him firmly. Scrubbing a hand over his face, Dean sighed and shook his head, “Alright, this is crap we don't need right now. Am I alone in thinking whatever he's here for is big?” “No, we feel that's the case as well, Dean. Hell doesn't bring someone like him up for no reason. We're working on figuring out what it might be, but that's going to take time. When I know something, I’ll make sure you do as well.” “Look, I'm not going to tell Sammy about this. I'll deal with it as it comes, but he needs to stay as far away from it as he can,” Dean told him. Brow furrowing again, Cas said, “I don't think that's wise, Dean. It might be embarrassing to talk about but Sam needs to know who this is so that he can prepare if faced with him.” Though Sam already knew, since he told him, Dean would know who it was when they came face to face. He wanted to ensure Sam had a heads up, as they put it, to know who to look out for and be wary of. Looking down, Dean shook his head, “ For now, I’m saying nothing. I get a hint of any kind he's close, I'll fill Sammy in. Right now I just can't.” Knowing Dean meant what he said, Cas nodded though he didn't agree with that strategy. He was just glad that he had already filled Sam in so he wouldn't be clueless if confronted with Alistair. Figuring that was all that needed said on the topic since Cas agreed, Dean asked, “Is there anything else on that topic? 'Cause, if not, I want to go to bed. I'm tired.” “That was all I wanted to share,” Cas said with a nod. “Alright, dude, then I'm getting some shut-eye,” Dean told him wearily, rubbing his eyes. “Aright, Dean,” Cas said. Looking at him intently, the angel was trying to decide if he should follow the urge he had or not. After a moment, he decided that since it worked with Sam, it might with Dean as well if he went about it in a slightly different way. Waiting until Dean was about to open the door, Cas reached out, put a hand on the back of Dean's neck then kissed him passionately. Rather than wait around and push it, when he broke it off, he gave Dean an intent look then vanished with the sound of rustling wings.
Sitting there, hand still clutching the doorknob, Dean just stared at where Cas had been, mouth hanging open. What in the fuck was that? He didn't know but damn did it throw him off! Cas was, as he knew, strange. He always chalked that up to him being an angel and not dealing with humans much. This, though-- what the fuck? He kissed him! Staring at the now empty seat, Dean was wide-eyed, not sure what the hell to do or how to react.
After several minutes of trying to figure it out, and not being able to, he gave up. Shaking his head, he eased out of the car then made his way to the hotel room. If he couldn't still smell the angel on him and feel his lips tingle slightly from the kiss, he would swear he was hallucinating. No, just—he couldn't handle this tonight. Not on top of everything else. Nope, not happening. He was going to find his bed, crawl into it and lay there trying not to think about how fucked up his life was now. That was about the only plan he had so he was going with it!After leaving Dean, Cas appeared in a windswept field somewhere in the middle of Montana. There was no one around for miles and not even any lights were around. Standing there, he looked up at the stars above and smiled slightly. It was, after all, a magnificent sight that spoke of the beauty of his father's best work. Shutting his eyes, he felt the wind ruffle his hair and sighed. Though he didn't do such things often, he was now second guessing what he had just done with Dean. When it came to Sam, things were easier to work with. Sam, even when stressed, was someone you could reason with and he would give you time to explain. Dean wasn't that way. He was more hot-headed and apt to go off emotion rather than listen. Nor was it as easy to explain things to Dean as it was to Sam, at least in his opinion. Sighing, he shook his head. This courting thing and how humans went about it was so confusing to him. He had thought it would be much easier to just launch in and go like he wanted to. However, as Sam had told him, humans didn't go about it that way. He supposed he could understand why it just didn't make it any easier on him was all. Brow furrowed, he sighed and let his shoulders slump, eyes opening. Honestly, he was at a loss as to how to go about this with Dean. Sam had been easy as he explained what to do. Dean wasn't apt to do that. Nor was he the kind that would listen to things the way Sam did. However, he wanted to get the same kind of things across to Dean that he had Sam. He just didn't know how in this case. Yes, he would be the first to admit that Sam was the one he was first attracted to. Both brothers were beings he liked but the attraction was there for the younger at first. Dean was seen as more of a job he had to do. By the time of the conversation with Sam tonight, though, that was different. There was an attraction to Dean by then as well. It was different, he would admit that, but it was along a similar track as it was with Sam. As he had learned that humans loved no two beings exactly alike, he thought that it was the case with something like this. Dean was just different than Sam was all. He could deal with that. He supposed the kind of relations would be different as well. Now, being what he was, he didn't have issues like humans did with things like jealousy. He could handle what a human called a threesome. Of course, he assumed there would be issues with Sam and Dean but he felt he could deal with them. Dean was just going to take more of an effort than Sam with it. Thinking about the older brother, he once more second guessed what he did and sighed. Now, well, he needed to get with Sam again tomorrow and tell him what he did. Sam wouldn't have a problem, he didn't think, with the plans they had in place, but there was certain to be fallout from Dean's end of things that would have Sam confused. He didn't want too much stress there over it. Lifting his eyes again, he looked up to the stars and thought about what could come of the whole thing then smiled slightly. He liked the idea, he really did. There was something there, a pull, for both brothers and he wanted to be involved with the two of them. The idea of sleeping with both of them at the same time was something he liked. He also adored the idea of the closeness that would come of the relationship. Though Dean wasn't like his brother in so much, he did have his own way of showing affection. It was something that appealed to him. Dean was someone he found intriguing from their first meeting. It wasn't the pull that had been there with Sam, but it was one he did like. As they dealt with each other more, he found that pull increased and morphed into something else. It pleased him a great deal and when it began to parallel what he had with Sam, he took no issue with it, deciding he could work with it. In fact, he was more than happy to suggest the threesome part with Sam. He wanted to be with both, that he would admit. Now Sam knew and seemed to be fine with it so he would push with Dean. He wasn't sure how he was going to do that, he really wasn't, but he would. Thinking about the two, he first thought about the kiss. No, that probably wasn't the way to go about it but he didn't have a clue as to what would have worked with Dean. He was so different than Sam in that area. Since Sam was the only one he had experience with, he had done that. Thinking it over now, though it wasn't the way he should have, it was the only thing he knew so, maybe, it was for the best he had. Sighing, he shook his head. Again, it was confusing and he didn't know how to approach it. He supposed that he would have to deal with the fallout the following night when he saw Dean then try to explain. As he wasn't the best at communicating some things, it would be hard but he would manage. He was just going to have to explain what he felt to Dean then go from there. At some point Dean would listen and, hopefully, he could get it across. Then when he and Sam found a way to introduce that part, they would be able to. Frowning slightly, he thought that, maybe, it would be easier if he could involve Sam. After all, Sam could get Dean to listen, or talk, when others couldn't. It wasn't an option right now. Dean was going to have to deal with what he did right off and that part would be rough. Adding more would just make it worse. No, alone was the way to go about it. If he could do so with Sam, he could do it with Dean as well. He would just have to figure out a different way then work off hints Dean gave him was all. That was something he could do. Shutting his eyes again, he smiled as visions of what he had done with Sam that night played out once more. Now he could understand the human obsession with sex. It had been amazing. Not only were the sensations something he had adored, the closeness he felt to Sam during the act was a whole other dimension to things. He had, of course, felt immense pleasure over his time but it wasn't anything compared to what he had discovered with Sam. And he wanted more. A lot more. He also wanted that with Dean. Then both of them together. That, well, yes, it was going to be complicated but he wanted it! Groaning softly, he felt his flesh stiffen at the mere thought and couldn't help but shake his head. He supposed this came with the territory when dealing with such things. The vivid images of he and Sam were something that was arousing, especially since he did want more. While thinking about that, he replaced Sam's image with Dean's and couldn't help but feel the arousal didn't diminish at all. That pleased him as well. Yes, he was going to keep on pressing with all of this and see what he could do. The sooner the better was his thought on it. It just came down to the how was all. That he was still not sure about. Sighing, he looked around then thought he better go. His own kind would be wondering where he was by now as he had spent a great deal of time away when there were things that needed attending to. So, rather than draw suspicion, he needed to go deal with that end of the mess. After another brief look up at the stars and a smile as he thought about what he had been pondering, he vanished from the spot with the sound of rustling wings.
Glancing over at the bedside clock and seeing it was almost three AM, Dean groaned and scrubbed a hand over his face. This sucked balls! He had figured sleep wasn't going to come after the kiss from Cas but that didn't make the whole thing less frustrating! Even worse was he was dog-ass tired and running on fumes from the sexual gymnastics earlier. However, he was well aware sleep wasn't going to happen either because his fucking brain was wide awake and going warp ten over everything. With a soft sigh, he sat up then perched on the edge of the bed looking down at the floor. There was so much to deal with right now that the kiss from Cas was just making everything worse. It had so blindsided him that he didn't know what to think about it, let alone where it might have come from. From what he knew, angels were basically sexless, only being defined by the vessel they inhabited. So then, why the fuck did Cas kiss him? That he didn't know since there wasn't a fucking thing chaste about that kiss! Shaking his head, trying to get something, somewhere to jar or at least go into shutdown so he could rest, Dean just slumped slightly. It wasn't going to work. He knew that. There was just too much there to deal with for it to happen. If it wasn't the kiss, other things would be keeping him awake and he knew it. Glancing up, he looked over at the bed Sammy was in and felt guilt curdle his stomach over what he had done with the other Sammy earlier. Yeah, there was no passing that off as anything but the fact that he wanted to fuck his brother and had just used that guy as a substitute. It had worked, dimming it slightly, until he came back in the room and was getting ready for bed. Then one look over at his sleeping brother and it had all come back full force. It took all his self control not to climb in bed with Sammy and give it a shot. Nope, this wasn't going to go away any time soon. Neither was the self loathing over it. Looking back at the clock, he shut his eyes and groaned again. He needed sleep, dammit! He couldn't keep dealing with all this shit if he didn't get any sleep! In fact, no sleep was making it all the worse. No, it couldn't keep going like this. After another glance at Sammy, he got up. Making sure he was quiet so he didn't wake his brother, he went and found their first aid kit. Though it didn't happen often, sometimes one of them got insomnia. They always kept something for it though they didn't use it often because they had to keep on their toes. However, with what he was dealing with, Dean felt he had no choice in the matter. Finding the bottle of pills, he shook out two then put everything back. Going into the bathroom, he got himself a drink of water and downed them. It would take a bit for them to kick in, of course, but sleep would finally come. After coming out, he grabbed a sheet of paper and left a note for Sammy to pay for another day and told him he had taken something to get some sleep. Hopefully, there wouldn't be too many questions when he woke up over it. Sammy knew he was having a hard time sleeping so he hoped that he would understand and not say anything. Crawling back into bed, he punched his pillow a couple times to get it into shape then flopped down on his stomach with a groan. Shutting his eyes, he waited for the pills to kick in, trying to direct his thoughts anywhere but where they had been.
