Chapter 7
Day 1 - Southbound Interstate 95, Virginia The sun shined down on the two bikers as they rode side by side on the interstate. Each motorcycle with a pack on the back seat and side bags filled with their belongings. They were able to get off to an early start and bypassed all the city traffic when they hit the highway that morning. Riding a motorcycle provides a lot of quiet reflection time for oneself. The scenery flying by has a calming affect along with the sound of the wind against your helmet. Tessa often thinks of it as a cleansing, the wind blowing off the negative past, the mix of emotions that come into play in her everyday life and brings her back to who she truly is. She often would think back to the days her father was alive and their trips together. As much as she loved her solo trips on her bike each year, it always brought with it a mix of emotions. She had new emotions that were coming into play this year that included some feelings she was developing for her companion. It was a nice change to have someone, like Walter Skinner, join her this year. They had fun together and she was determined to show him a good time, maybe get him to loosen up a little. She was also excited about some news she had received a few days earlier that her brother Jeb might meet up with them in her hometown. She had left him a message letting him know her itinerary and mentioned she had a male friend with her this time. Knowing her brother and his protectiveness over her, she wasn’t surprised when he emailed her to say he might be in town when she showed up. They were making good time and would arrive in Virginia Beach around noon and cruise along the coast south to find some place out of the way to stay. Tessa planned to spend a few days exploring the Outer Banks in North Carolina and then they would head into Morehead City to visit some old friends and meet up with her brother. Skinner was happy to have someone else take the lead. He promised himself that he would let go during this trip and go with the flow. The two of them had a conversation before they left about taking things day to day as they came. The idea was to head along the coast south but if they were pulled in another direction then detours just added to the adventure. She told him a story about the summer her and her dad had decided to head north to Maine and ended up in Louisiana with a couple of bikers they had met along the way. The best part was the unknown. He liked the idea of it and wondered how he would take to it after a few days. Tessa pulled into a park just south of Virginia Beach. The wind threatened to blow them over as they made their way over to a picnic shelter. The beach was relatively empty, most likely due to the windy conditions and they were, for the most part, alone on this section of the park. Skinner noticed a black sedan pull in behind them and park at the other end of the lot. He kept an eye on the car as they sat looking out at the ocean together noticing no one had exited the car. Tessa stood and stretched her legs turning to face him. “You have that look Skinner.” “What look?” “You’re in FBI mode, what is it?” He nudged his head towards the black sedan. “That car, I think we may have been followed. I could have sworn I saw it behind us coming south.” “You might just be a little paranoid. May just be travelers, we’ll keep an eye on them.” “Where to next?” He asked looking a little annoyed with her last response. “The wind is exhausting to ride in. Let’s go over to Lake Rudee and find a place to eat. Sound good?” Skinner nods and stands heading towards his bike. Tessa bites her lip hoping his mood isn’t a sign of things to come. She looks over at the black sedan again, she noticed it behind them too as far back as north Virginia. They would need to stay on guard but be damned if someone was going to ruin her trip with Skinner. The man in the black sedan watched as Skinner and his female companion rode off. He started up the engine and followed not too far behind. He didn’t care if his presence was known to them he had a job to do. Day 2 – Outer Banks, NC After staying the night in Virginia they slept in and headed south into the Outer Banks. Skinners mood was better this morning after receiving some special treatment from Tessa that morning. She always seemed to find a way to put him into a better mood and it didn’t hurt that she was extremely talented with her mouth. He hadn’t noticed the black sedan from the prior day following them and shook it off. Maybe he was being paranoid. He tried to take in as much as he could around him as they rode into the Outer Banks. The sand dunes, the ocean, all of it played into how he was beginning to feel. He looked over at Tessa riding beside him and couldn’t help the feelings that came over him. He was genuinely happy for the first time and it was because of this woman. She made him happy and he knew he would do just about anything for her. Several miles in Tessa pulled off the road. There was nothing but beach and the sound of the wind around them. They had decided to camp out for the night and set up their tent literally feet from the ocean. After they ate, Tessa stood as Skinner watched her in fascination. Her dark hair shined in the sunlight and loose wisps of hair blew around her face. In an instance he watched as she headed towards the ocean pulling off articles of clothing and then standing completely naked at the water’s edge as the waves kissed her feet. She edged her way into the ocean as she became acclimated to the waters temperature and then she made the final plunge into the waves. Her head popping out of the water, she looked back at him with a huge smile. It didn’t take long until she was running up the sand towards him, her naked body shivering and covered with goose bumps. Laughing Skinner grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her. “Come in with me.” She said shivering under the towel. “No way. Look at you, you’re freezing. Come here.” He put his arms around her pulling her close. Tessa put her head on his chest and enjoyed the feeling of his arms around her. She smiled looking up at him. “I’m glad you’re here Walter.” He looked down at her and leaned into kiss her. “Me too.” He kissed her again, this time with more heat. He could taste the ocean on her lips mixed with the sweetness of her mouth. Tessa slid her hands under his t-shirt running her fingers through his chest hair and then around to stroke his back. Pulling away from him she backed up and took his hand in hers leading him to their tent. Once inside she undressed him as he watched her every move. She lay next to him and pulled him down to her reestablishing their kiss. Their tongues danced as he entered her. Skinner grabbed her legs placing them around him and intertwined his hands with hers. Their lovemaking was soft and sweet and long. They had nothing but time and took full advantage of it. Tessa could not get enough of him inside of her, her need for him was great and she wanted to show him how much she needed him. He tried to fulfill this need with every thrust he made inside of her but still it wasn’t enough for his own need. It wasn’t long before their bodies were covered with sweat and sliding against one another. This time their bodies were in sync as they reached their climax together, both their bodies surging with the energy created between them. Lying in his arms Tessa traced her finger over his chest and down his stomach. His body was so beautiful to her and provided her with so much pleasure. Not one to ever question her emotions, Tessa had a strong feeling she was falling in love with Walter. She could tell he cared for her too but was starting to wonder if he could ever fall in love with her. Their relationship started out as sexual and she wasn’t sure if a man like Skinner would be able to put up with her wild nature in the long term. Tessa was young and energetic; would this eventually wear on Walter and his serious side? She knew if she were to keep him she would have to settle down and make some changes in her lifestyle. Breathing his scent in deeply, she knew she was willing to do just about anything to keep this man. Feeling her breathe in deeply Skinner sensed something was on her mind. “Care to share your thoughts with me?” “Hmm? Oh it’s nothing.” “Nothing coming from a woman means something. What’s up?” She shifted her head to look up at him, scanning the features of his face before speaking again. “Do you ever think about what will happen with us in the future?” “You mean where our relationship is going?” She nods her agreement still looking up at him. “Sure, all the time. I think about what will happen when you realize I’m an old stiff and that you want to be with someone more like you.” Tessa’s eyebrows frowned at this and she readjusted her body so she could see him better. “So you don’t really think we have a chance, because we’re so different?” “That’s not what I’m saying, no. I would like things to work out for us, you’re an amazing woman and I have honestly never been happier.” He reached over to brush her cheek with his hand. “What if I changed, more to your liking? I would be willing to do that for you.” This time Skinner frowned a little taken aback by her comment. “Tessa, I don’t want you to change. I love you for you. All your little quirks and eccentricities are what draw me to you.” “You’re in love with me?” She couldn’t believe she had heard him say those words to her. “I’m head over heels in love with you.” They both lay there staring at each letting his admission to her sink in. Tessa smiled and snuggled back into him placing her head back on his chest. “You make me happy too, Walter. If it means I’m in love with an old stiff then so be it.” They held each other close in silence listening to the ocean and the wind around them. It was still early when they heard the sound of motorcycles pull off close to their camp. Dressing, they both got out of the tent to see another couple dismounting from their bikes near where theirs were parked. Tessa waved and started walking towards them leaving Skinner behind at the camp. He watched as she approached them introducing herself and exchanged a few words with them waving towards their camp. When she turned to come back he was shaking his head curious about what that had been about. “We have new neighbors. I invited Jack and Diane to camp with us.” She said smiling and opening their bag where their food was kept. Skinner could only laugh and shake his head. That night they shared dinner with their new friends who turned out to be law attorneys from Maryland. Skinner, ever the skeptic, was starting to see why Tessa was so friendly with people. You never know whom you might meet. They spent the next few days riding and camping all along the Outer Banks with the couple and then going their own ways as Tessa and Skinner headed out of the Outer Banks and back into North Carolina to begin their trip to her hometown near Morehead City. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
