“ Good morning Melissa.”, Mr. Landry said as he was making scrambled eggs on the stove.
“ Good morning Mr. Landry. What are you doing?”, Melissa asked as she stood in the doorway of the kitchen.
“ Well I’m making breakfast for us before I take you to school.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ That’s nice. Thanks.”, Melissa said as she walked over to the table and sat down.
“ Of course.”, Mr. Landry said as he dumped the eggs into a bowl before he finished cooking the sausage links and dumped them into a bowl as well. As he brought both bowls to the table with the plates already sitting there Melissa asked, “ So… am I coming back here from now on?”
“ Yes you are considering the fact that your father’s now in jail and your former home has been condemmed.”, Mr. Landry said as he scooped some eggs and sausage onto his and Melissa’s plates before he started to eat.
“ Oh yeah I kind of forgot about my dad being arrested yesterday. I guess I’m just still a little scared from the way he treated me all those years.”, Melissa said with a sigh.
“ Yes well you don’t need to be afraid of coming home anymore. Where your father’s at right now is where jerks like him belong, locked up like the derranged animals they are.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ Yeah that’s true. Thank you for saving my life.”, Melissa said as she started eating the eggs that were on her plate.
“ You are very welcome. You’re a very sweet beautiful girl Melissa and no child deserves to be treated like that for any reason what so ever. And that’s also very mean that your father deliberately set loose your Golden Retriever puppy a long time ago.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ Yeah I’m still really upset about that. His name was Buster and he was the sweetest little thing I ever had. He’s actually the one thing that made me smile during all the abuse I was taking from my father. The day I found out that my dad let him go I was so upset that I cried for days on end.”, Melissa said as she could feel the tears start to come back in her eyes.
“ Where did he let him go at?”, Mr. Landry asked.
“ He let him go in the woods. He just threw a huge chunk of meat back there and let him loose before he drove away in his truck. Since to this day, I never saw Buster again.”, Melissa sadly said.
“ Oh that is just plain cruel Melissa Cora. Your father had no right to do that to you, none what so ever just like he had no right to throw your stuff in the garbage either. That is just pure evil animalistic behavior. Children don’t dserve to have things like that done to them, point blank period.”, Mr. Landry said as he finished eating the same time that Melissa had finished hers before he stood up and took the plates to the sink.
“ Yeah you’re right. I didn’t even do anything to him and yet that apparently suddenly gives him the right to do that to me? It’s just awful.”, Melissa said.
“ Yes well we can discuss this more later. Go get ready for school.”, Mr. Landry said as he was washing the dishes in the sink.
“ Ok.”, Melissa said as she got up from the table and headed off to get dressed. A short time after that Mr. Landry dropped her off at school where she went to class like normal before she headed to the cafeteria for lunch and sat with Meygan again only this time Damien sat with them as well.
“ So Melissa did you really mean what you said about the fact that you used to have a Golden Retriever puppy before your jerk of a father set it loose?”, Meygan asked.
“ Yeah I did Meygan, his name was Buster. He was the sweetest and cutest little thing I ever owned and was the one thing that made me smile during all the years of abuse I took from my father and one day when I was taking a nap my father just took Buster, drove out to the woods, chucked a huge chunk of meat into the woods as far as it would go and just set Buster loose before he drove back home. When I woke up a few hours later I asked my father where Buster was and he yelled at me, “ Forget about that mangy mutt Melissa, he’s gone! I set him loose in the woods!” After he said that I just cried and slammed my door shut. I cried for days on end after that.”, Melissa sadly said.
“ Dude that’s horrible that he set loose your dog and threw your stuff in the garbage for no reason! Why in the hell would he think that was ok to do?!”, Damien hissed.
“ I don’t know Damien, my dad’s just an animal. He’s been that way for years.”, Melissa said as she shook her head.
“ Your dad’s a Satan animal is what he is Melissa.”, Meygan said.
“ Yes he very much is Meygan.”, Melissa said.
“ Yeah well I think you deserved that you loser!”, Hannah laughed in a snarky way as she walked by their table.
“ Shut up Hannah and keep walking, no I did not! I didn’t do anything to my father to deserve what I got! I lost almost everything I had for NO REASON! Seriously how would you like it if something like that happened to you?!”, Melissa shouted at her.
“ Oh puhlease, that would so not happen to me Lakeston! You’re crazy!”, Hannah laughed with a scoff.
“ Yeah well keep telling yourself that Wixom because karma’s going to get you someday when you least expect it!”, Melissa shouted with clenched fists.
“ Yeah right! Later Baby Shark loser!”, Hannah laughed at Melissa before she walked by Meygan and slapped her hard against the back of her head with her hand as she walked away laughing it up.
“ Ow!”, Meygan shrieked in pain as she rubbed the back of her head which immediately made Damien mad enough that he wanted to get up and go punch Hannah but Meygan immediately forced him to sit back down with her hand pressed on his shoulder as she hissed, “ Damien sit! Don’t go stooping to Hannah’s level right now! Do you seriously want to get us in trouble?!”
“ But she just slapped you in the back of the head though sis!”, Damien hissed at his twin sister.
“ I know that bro but we can’t go picking a fight with her in school! We’ll get detention, suspended or worse, arrested by the school police officer and Mom and Dad will ground us for life if that happens!”, Meygan hissed at her twin brother.
“ Ok you’re right Meygan I’d rather not get us in trouble, especially arrested.”, Damien said as he calmed down.
“ Thank you.”, Meygan said. The 3 of them continued to talk and eat together when all of a sudden Damien’s friends walked by the table.
“ Hey what’s up guys?!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ Uh… why are you talking to us Damien?”, Joshua asked in somewhat of an annoyed voice as he stood next to two other boys and three girls.
“ What do you mean why am I talking to you? We’re friends.”, Damien asked in confusion.
“ Yeah I don’t think so, loser!”, Austin laughed making the others laugh as well in a rude way.
“ What’s going on?! Why are you all suddenly laughing at me?!”, Damien hissed.
“ Because your sister’s a baby freak dude!”, Samantha, Danielle and Monica laughed causing more laughter among them and the boys.
“ Excuse me?! Who told you that?!”, Damien shouted in anger as he stood up and clenched his fists.
“ Kevin Clements!”, Brett laughed causing everybody in the cafeteria to start laughing.
“ Are you fucking kidding me?! You guys are gonna listen to that jerk?! Well you know what, forget this! Screw all of you, you guys are all jerks! I have my twin sister Meygan and our friend Melissa anyway! I don’t need you idiots if you’re gonna all make fun of my sister!”, Damien shouted in anger at his so called friends who were still laughing it up with each other.
“ Yeah whatever, later you freaky dork!”, Austin laughed as he walked away with his friends who were still laughing it up as well. Damien then angrily dumped his tray into the trash and stormed off towards the cafeteria doors with Meygan and Melissa following him.
“ Woah Damien Issac Cooper what was up with that?!”, Meygan exclaimed in shock as she pointed in the direction that her twin brother’s so called friends went in.
“ Don’t know and don’t care now Meygan Kapri Cooper, just let it go! They’re jerks for what they just did now and I don’t need them! Seriously I can’t believe the nerve of stupid Kevin ‘Jerk’ Bullard Clements turning all of our friends against me like that! I’m gonna kill him for this!”, Damien shouted as he suddenly pulled his switchblade out of his pocket, storming down the hallway with it.
“ Woah bro remember what Dad said about the switchblade thing! Don’t go stabbing people with it, you’re gonna kill somebody!”, Meygan screamed as she ran after her brother with Melissa following her getting up in front of him, holding up her hands.
“ Yeah well that’s what I feel like I want to do to Kevin right now Meygan! Apparently he’s trying to get back at me for kicking him out of our house and so he must have said something to our friends and now they all hate me! He’s dead for this!”, Damien shouted in anger as he tried to shove past his sister and Melissa but Melissa shouted, “ Dude just put that thing away and calm down! You don’t want to get yourself in trouble!”
“ Let’s just get to class!”, Damien hissed under his breath as he reluctantly put his switchblade away back into his pocket before he stormed down the hallway with Meygan and Melissa following him. When they got into the classroom Kevin was just sitting at his desk with a stupid smirk on his face.
“ What’s up baby freak Coopers, and baby freak Lakeston?!”, Kevin stupidly said as he started laughing his butt off.
“ Shut your freakin’ mouth Kevin! You’re dead for turning all of our friends against me!”, Damien shouted in anger at his former friend.
“ Hey I just thought they should all know that they were hanging out with a dork who has a baby freak for a sister! I was doing them a favor and saving them the trouble!”, Kevin laughed.
“ Well what did you do that for?!”, Damien shouted in anger.
“ Dude you were the one that kicked me out of your house for no reason in the first place so you totally had it coming!”, Kevin laughed.
“ I kicked you out because you were making fun of my twin!”, Damien shouted in anger.
“ It was more like honest criticism dude!”, Kevin laughed.
“ You call it whatever the hell you want but you were making fun of her and you know it!”, Damien shouted in anger.
“ Yeah right whatever Cooper! Just go be with your diaper-wearing freak of a twin sister Meygan! There ain’t no foul in that!”, Kevin laughed. In an instant after he said that Damien suddenly shoved Kevin’s desk out of the way making Kevin back up putting his hands up in front of him as Damien got up in his face, clenching his fists at his sides shouting in anger, “ I’m gonna ride up your ass for saying that Clements!”
“ Hey hey hey that’s enough! Damien, Kevin, sit down now!”, the teacher suddenly shouted when he walked into the room and saw the confrontation going on. Damien then just stormed to his desk and sat down while Kevin grabbed his desk back and sat back down too which made both boys shut up. The lesson started shortly after with Damien and Kevin periodically glaring at each other throughout the entire lesson.
“ Dude stop glaring at Kevin and just pay attention before you get in trouble!”, Melissa quietly hissed at her friend.
“ Alright, sorry Melissa.”, Damien quietly said with a sigh as he turned back to face the front of the room. The school day continued for the next few hours before the final bell went off signaling the end of the school day and it was then that Melissa began to feel some of that fear coming back as she made her way outside the building with Meygan and Damien before they parted ways and Melissa started walking towards Mr. Landry’s car that was sitting in the parking lot. Mr. Landry then asked her how her day went and she said it was good before she got into the passenger side of the car and Mr. Landry drove away. On the car ride back to his house Melissa sat there in silence as her hands started to shake a bit in fear of what to expect when they got there.
“ Ok, we’re home.”, Mr. Landry said with a smile as he pulled in the driveway and parked the car, turning off the engine making Melissa start to feel like something was pressing on her chest making it hard for her to breathe. Her hands started to shake a little bit more as Mr. Landry slowly walked into the house with her making her sit down on the couch. As soon as he picked up the tv remote to hand it to her she suddenly jumped up from the couch and ducked behind the couch screaming in terror, “ Don’t throw that at me!” as her breathing began to get fast and her anxiety began to skyrocket. Mr. Landry then gently set the remote down on the couch, walked behind the couch and calmy said, “ Melissa calm down I was just going to hand you the tv remote so you could watch some tv, I’m not going to hurt you. I would never hurt anybody especially a child unless if they were threatening me.”
“ I’m sorry it’s just that my mind keeps going back to that same situation that I’ve always been used to. I keep associating with coming home from school as being yelled at and having something thrown at me.”, Melissa quietly said in a fearful voice as she sat there hugging her knees into her chest.
“ And that’s completely normal for someone that has been going through years of abuse, neglect and trauma. You’re just not used to this new situation yet, this is only day 1. It’s going to take a few days for you to get desensitized. Come on, let’s go back to the couch.”, Mr. Landry said in a calm gentle voice as he held his hand out to her. She was a little hesitant at first but then she slowly grabbed his hand and he pulled her up to her feet, walking her back around the couch before he made her sit down again. He then gave her the remote and she turned the tv on, leaning back into the couch trying to relax herself. Mr. Landry then walked into the bathroom and looked through his medicine cabinet to find a bottle of over-the-counter anti-anxiety pills and dumped one into his hand before he walked back out into the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water. He then approached Melissa with the pill and the glass of water.
“ Here sweetheart, take this.”, Mr. Landry said as he held out the items in his hand to her.
“ What is that, some kind of knock out medicine?!”, Melissa screamed in terror again.
“ No it’s an anti-anxiety pill to help calm you down.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ How do I even know if that’s true?! We’re still basically strangers to each other!”, Melissa screamed in terror as she huddled herself into a ball on the couch.
“ Yes that’s true but trust me, you are safe here. Your father cannot hurt you anymore, he’s in jail and will be hopefully for the rest of his life for what he did to you. I told you I would never hurt anyone unless if they threatened me.”, Mr. Landry said in a gentle voice as he kept holding the items out to Melissa. Melissa then reluctantly took the items and swallowed the pill with the water. Within a few minutes the drug began to kick in and she could feel herself start to relax.
“ Is that better?”, Mr. Landry asked.
“ Yeah much better… thank you for saving my life Mr. Landry.”, Melissa calmly said.
“ You’re very welcome Melissa. Do you want an after school snack? I have graham crackers.”, Mr. Landry said with a smile.
“ Yes please.”, Melissa said.
“ Ok, I’ll be back in a second.”, Mr. Landry said as he walked back into the kitchen and went into the pantry to grab the graham crackers before he walked back out into the living room with them. He handed 3 of them to Melissa who then started munching on them while watching tv. She felt calm for the next few hours before the drug started to wear off and she began to feel some fear coming back just as Leonard was stopping by with his laptop.
“ Hey Scott, how are things going with Melissa so far?”, Leonard asked Mr. Landry as he entered the house.
“ Hi Leonard, things are going ok except Melissa is still a little bit scared. She freaked out earlier today when I brought her home from school and cowered behind the couch when I tried to hand her the tv remote because she thought I was going to throw it at her so then I gave her an anti-anxiety pill which calmed her down for a while but now she’s starting to feel scared again.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ Well I have something that might help, it helped me deal with Sheldon moving out of our apartment after he married Michaela.”, Leonard said.
“ Which is what?”, Mr. Landry asked.
“ I was thinking I could try a meditation session with her. Penny suggested to me to help me deal with Sheldon moving out and it really did help me because I completely forgot about what happened after a few days.”, Leonard said as he set up his laptop on the coffee table.
“ That’s a great idea Leonard, why don’t you try that.”, Mr. Landry said with a smile.
“ Thanks Scott. Melissa can you come sit down here for a second?”, Leonard asked as he sat on the floor in front of the coffee table with his laptop sitting open on it.
“ What is this Dr. Hofstadter?!”, Melissa asked in fear as she slowly stood up from the couch.
“ I’m going to try some meditation with you, it might help you release your fear. It helped me deal with my best friend moving out after he got married.”, Leonard said with a smile.
“ Ok.”, Melissa said in fear as she slowly walked over and sat down right in between Leonard’s legs as he started to press play on his laptop. A meditation track called Imagination began to stream out of it as he then said with his eyes closed, “ Ok now close your eyes, relax your muscles and concentrate on your breathing.” Melissa did as he instructed and the two began to concentrate on their breathing together with closed eyes. Mr. Landry sat down on the couch to watch this. After several minutes went by the session ended and they both opened their eyes.
“ Wow, that felt really good.”, Melissa said as a soft smile began to spread across her face.
“ Well good I’m glad you liked it. Like I said it really helped me. Same time tomorrow night?”, Leonard asked with a smile as he got up and shut his laptop.
“ Yeah, I want to do that again! That was awesome!”, Melissa exclaimed in a bubbly voice as she stood back up.
“ Alright I’ll see you tomorrow night. Thanks for letting me come over Scott.”, Leonard said as he grabbed his laptop and headed to the door.
“ Anytime Leonard, thank you so much for doing that and we’ll see you again tomorrow night.”, Mr. Landry said as he stood up from the couch and walked over to the door to open it for Leonard.
“ No problem, see you tomorrow. Bye.”, Leonard said before he left and Mr. Landry shut the door. He then stared at Melissa who was just standing there with a calm, happy look on her face. For the next few days as Melissa was doing these meditation sessions with Leonard every evening as well as beginning trust fall sessions too which were provided by Michaela, Sheldon, Meygan and Damien she began to get a little more confident about coming home each time and it made Mr. Landry very happy to see the tremendous progress that was being made. But just as things were getting better with that something totally unexpected happened one day at school during passing time as Meygan, Damien and Melissa were walking in the hallway with each other to get to their next class. Hannah and her friends suddenly came up to Meygan again to mess with her.
“ Oh crap! Here we go again! I’m so sick of this!”, Damien hissed in anger as he rolled his eyes again as he stood next to Melissa and Meygan.
“ Hey look you guys it’s loser Meygan! What do you think we should do to her this time?!”, Gia laughed with a stupid smirk as she put her hands on her hips.
“ Oh I know, let’s shove her head in the toilet and flush it!”, Chase laughed.
“ Yeah I totally agree with that!”, Maryah laughed.
“ Yeah let’s do it cliquesters!”, Hannah laughed as they grabbed onto Meygan who shoved them away shouting, “ Don’t you dare do anything to me Hannah, Chase, Maryah and Gia! Just keep walking!”
“ Ooh somebody’s a little crabby baby today isn’t she?! I think somebody needs a nap!”, Hannah laughed as her friends were laughing and imitating the sound of a crying baby.
“ Shut up Hannah, no I don’t!”, Meygan shouted.
“ Yeah Hannah! Go away and leave us alone!”, Damien and Melissa shouted.
“ Shut up Damien and Melissa! I can do whatever the hell I want!”, Hannah laughed shaking her head.
“ No you can’t you gargantuan buffoon! We’re in school and this is not appropriate!”, Meygan shouted.
“ I’m gonna pop one in your mouth for saying that!”, Hannah shouted as she came at Meygan swinging her fist but Meygan backed up a bit throwing her hands up as Hannah then fell on her face on the hallway floor screaming. The school police officer came running down the hallway immediately shouting, “Hey! What’s going on here?!”
“ Meygan Cooper hit me is what’s going on Officer Killaby! She punched me in the face!”, Hannah fakely cried as she got up from the floor and pointed at Meygan. Fake blood was dripping from her nose to make it look like her nose had been broken from the result of someone hitting someone in the face.
“ Yeah it’s true! We saw her do it!”, Maryah, Chase and Gia spat out as they nodded their heads to try to back up their friend’s claims.
“ What?!”, Officer Zachery Franklin Killaby shouted as he stared at Meygan narrowing his eyes at her.
“ Are you freaking kidding me?!”, Damien and Melissa gasped in anger as they stared at Hannah for telling a big fat lie.
“ What?! No I didn’t Hannah Rachel Wixom! You came at me with your fist, I backed up and you fell!”, Meygan screamed at her bully.
“ Shut up you little liar! Look at what you did to my nose! You broke it!”, Hannah fakely cried as she pointed at her fakely bleeding nose.
“ I didn’t do crap to you! What are you talking about?!”, Meygan screamed.
“ Alright that’s enough, Meygan Kapri Cooper please come with me.”, Officer Killaby said in a serious tone as he walked up to her, taking out a set of handcuffs making Damien and Melissa gasp in horror at what was happening. They couldn’t believe that Meygan just got in trouble for something she didn’t even do.
“ Oh god, what the hell is going on?!”, Meygan screamed as she looked around while her arms were being pulled behind her back. Tears began to start forming in her eyes.
“ You’re being arrested for punching Hannah Wixom in the face.”, Officer Killaby said as he slapped the handcuffs on her wrists.
“ But I didn’t do that though Officer Killaby! She’s the one that came at me with her fist, I backed up and she fell on her face! Damien, Melissa?!”, Meygan screamed as she started to cry.
“ Meygan calm down we’ll get you out of this situation somehow!”, Damien screamed as he stared at his twin sister who was standing in the school police officer’s grasp looking completely terrified.
“ I shouldn’t even be in this situation to begin with Damien Issac Cooper! I didn’t do anything!”, Meygan cried as she looked at her twin brother.
“ We know but it’s going to be ok!”, Melissa screamed as she stared at her friend.
“ Alright that’s enough talking for now, let’s go to my office.”, Officer Killaby said as he started walking Meygan down the hallway to his school police department office and placed her in a jail cell before he walked over to his desk, took out a copy of her Emergency Contact card and looked at the name that was on there besides her parents names. It was Mr. Landry’s number so the officer dialed the number as Meygan kept crying while sitting in the cell.
“ Calm down, stop crying in there. You’re alright.”, Officer Killaby said as he had his desk phone to his ear listening to the dial tone.
“ I can’t! I didn’t even do anything wrong and I feel like my diaper’s wet again!”, Meygan cried as she sat in the cell on the hard bed curled up with her legs pressed against her chest with her foot starting to twitch due to the fact that she just gone to the bathroom in her diaper.
“ Well you should have thought about that before you decided to punch Hannah in the face Meygan.”, Officer Killaby said as he was still waiting for Mr. Landry to pick up the phone.
“ But I didn’t! She fell on her face and lied! I didn’t touch her what so ever I swear!”, Meygan cried.
“ Just hush up for a second.”, Officer Killaby said to her as he then heard a voice on the other end through the phone that said, “ Hello?”
“ Hi is this Scott Landry, Mrs. Michaela Cooper’s former neighbor?”, Officer Killaby asked.
“ Yes this is. Can I ask who’s calling me please?”, Mr. Landry asked.
“ Sure this is Officer Zachery Franklin Killaby calling from the Pasadena Area High School police department office. I’m calling to inform you that I have your former neighbor’s daughter Meygan Kapri Cooper in my office right now sitting in a cell.”, Officer Killaby said.
“ Meygan’s in your office?! What happened Officer Killaby?!”, Mr. Landry gasped in shock.
“ There was an altercation in the hallway during passing time between Meygan and Hannah Wixom and Hannah claims that Meygan punched her in the face.”, Officer Killaby said.
“ What?! That doesn’t make any sense! Meygan would never do that, she’s a sweet girl!”, Mr. Landry gasped in shock and horror. He couldn’t believe he was hearing something like this about his former neighbor’s daughter.
“ Yes well according to what I saw, Hannah’s nose was bleeding.”, Officer Killaby said.
“ Oh my Lord!”, Mr. Landry gasped.
“ Yeah so would you be willing to come down here so we can talk more about this?”, Officer Killaby asked.
“ Yes of course, I’ll be there right away!”, Mr. Landry said before the two men hung up on each other. Damien and Melissa ran into the school police department office shortly after Mr. Landry showed up.
“ Damien, Melissa, what is going on here?!”, Mr. Landry shrieked.
“ Hannah lied is what’s going on Mr. Landry! She’s trying to get my twin sister in trouble for something she didn’t even do!”, Damien shrieked.
“ Well what exactly happened?!”, Mr. Landry shrieked.
“ Ok we were just walking in the hallway to get to our next class during passing time when all of a sudden Hannah came walking up with her friends Maryah, Chase and Gia and they started harassing Meygan like they always do everyday saying something to the effect of that they were going to shove her head in the toilet so we all shouted at her telling her to go away and leave us alone but she laughed at us, “ Shut up Damien and Melissa! I can do whatever the hell I want!” so Meygan yelled at her, “ No you can’t you gargantuan buffoon! We’re in school and this is not appropriate!” to which Hannah shouted at her, “ I’m gonna pop one in your mouth for saying that!” and so Hannah came at Meygan with her fist but Meygan backed up putting her hands up and Hannah fell on her face!”, Melissa shrieked.
“ Ok that story I believe Melissa! Because I really don’t think Meygan would ever punch somebody in the face!”, Mr. Landry shrieked.
“ Exactly, my sister’s such a sweet girl and she would never do that, even if she got mad she wouldn’t do that!”, Damien shrieked.
“ Ok well you know what let’s just all go talk to the school officer and get this straightened out!”, Mr. Landry shrieked as he was ushering the two of them inside the office. After several minutes of talking to the officer, Meygan was then released out of the cell and she threw herself at her brother wailing at the top of her lungs which was enough to knock him down to the floor as she started to death grip his shoulders. Melissa and Mr. Landry got down on the floor as well to help the two of them stand up.
“ Oh f*cking god! That was the worst experience I’ve ever had in my life! I freaking hate Hannah, she’s such a little liar!”, Meygan cried into her twin brother’s shoulder.
“ I know but calm down sis, everything’s ok. This incident’s not going to go on your permanent record, it’s been erased.”, Damien said in a soothing voice into his sister’s ear as he was rubbing circles on her back.
“ Come let’s go back to my house after I sign the 3 of you out for the rest of the day.”, Mr. Landry said as he walked with the 3 of them to the principal’s office first to sign them out before they all got into his car and drove back to his house. Hannah got in trouble for lying and got shoved in the cell instead. Meygan then had her diaper changed before she took a nap on the couch in Mr. Landry’s living room. Afew hours when she woke up she was surrounded by her entire family who had worried expressions on their faces.
“ Meygan are you alright?! Come here sweetheart!”, Michaela cried as she threw her arms around her daughter in a loving embrace with her husband doing the same.
“ I was so scared Mom I didn’t even know what the hell was going on! Hannah lied to get me in trouble!”, Meygan cried into her mother’s shoulder as her father was gently stroking her wrists where the handcuffs had made marks on them.
“ Yeah well I can tell you right now that if Hannah does one more thing to you then that’s it, I’m getting her expelled from that school. Because your mother and I are done putting up with this crap. This is absolutely unacceptable.”, Sheldon said with a bit of anger in his voice.
“ Yeah well if you’re going to do that Dad then you might as well do it to Maryah, Chase and Gia too because they’re Hannah’s friends and they’re just as bad as her! Get all 4 of those cliquesters expelled for all I care! They just treat me like trash!”, Meygan cried.
“ Well Heavenly Father what good will that do Meygan?! Those girls will still try to attack you on social media and it will just make things worse!”, Mrs. Cooper said as she narrowed her eyes at her granddaughter.
“ Not if they get grounded for expulsion they won’t Grandma Mary!”, Meygan cried.
“ Meygan not every child gets parented the right way, for example, Melissa. Her father abused her for several years of her life so the odds of all 4 of those girls getting grounded for being expelled is not very likely.”, Leonard said as he shook his head at his goddaughter.
“ Yeah sweetie there’s a lot to consider when it comes to getting someone expelled from school. You have to tell the principal about what kind of behavior that you’re concerned about and then some forms need to be signed. Ultimately it’s the principal’s decision to whether or not they want to expell someone.”, Penny said.
“ Then what am I supposed to do Aunt Penny?! Just sit back and take it as it’s happening?!”, Meygan cried.
“ No you don’t need to do anything except try to ignore them.”, Penny said.
“ How am I supposed to ignore them?! They forcefully get up in my face constantly everyday! It’s like they want to just keep pushing me and pushing me until I kill myself and it’s bullshit!”, Meygan cried.
“ Well you know what that’s it, the next time I see Hannah’s face I’m gonna ride up her ass! She’s a little witchy skunk and I hate her!”, Damien hissed in anger.
“ Damien Issac you’re not going to do anything to anybody! You’re just going to get yourself in trouble!”, Aunt Maria scolded her great nephew.
“ I’ll do whatever I want Great Aunt Maria! I’m sick of people making fun of Meygan and doing shit like this to her! Seriously she did not deserve what just happened to her today, getting arrested by the school police officer for doing absolutely nothing wrong all because stupid Hannah decided to tell a big fat lie and say that Meygan punched her in the face when really all that happened was that Hannah came at Meygan with her fist, Meygan backed up and Hannah fell on her face! If anything Hannah deserved to be arrested for lying, not my sister!”, Damien shouted in anger at his great aunt.
“ Yes well Damien you need to learn how to control your temper because someday it’s going to get you in trouble if you’re not careful!”, Mr. Mansfield scolded his grandson.
“ Grandpa Mansfield don’t start, not you too! I’m really fired up right now after what just happened to Meygan and I don’t want to be told what’s what at the moment!”, Damien shouted in anger at his grandfather. He then stormed outside to Mr. Landry’s backyard with everyone following him out there as he then started to punch his fists into the side of a tree trunk in anger shouting at the top of his voice, “I’m gonna kill you for this Hannah Rachel Wixom if it’s the last thing I do!” which immediately made Sheldon run over to him, yanking him away from the tree scolding in his face, “ Damien Issac Cooper will you stop it! This is not helping right now!”
“ I don’t care Dad, I’m pissed off! I want to rip that girl’s face off for this! She scared the hell out of my twin sister!”, Damien shouted at his father.
“ Yeah but Damien that’s no reason to kill Hannah for!”, Howard scolded.
“ Shut up Uncle Howard! Let me get my anger out for a while! I’ll calm down when I’m ready!”, Damien shouted.
“ Alright fine little cousin, we’ll give you some space!”, Darby interjected as threw his hands up and backed up.
“ Thanks Darby!”, Damien hissed as he then went back to punching the tree repeatedly while the rest of the family, Mr. Landry and Melissa headed back into the house. After about a half hour Damien then came back into the house all calm. His hands were all beat up and bloody from hitting the tree.
“ You feel better Damien?”, Taylor asked as she flipped her hair over her shoulder.
“ Yeah I do Taylor.”, Damien said as he washed his hands off and wrapped them with bandages.
“ Here’s a glass of water in case if you want it.”, Louise said as she handed him a glass full of water.
“ Thanks Louise.”, Damien said as he took the glass and drank from it.
“ Well now that’s over, I actually have a surprise for everyone. Especially Melissa.”, Mr. Landry said making everybody look at him including Melissa.
“ Really? What is it Scott?”, Michaela asked in shock as she stared at her former neighbor.
“ Well if everyone will follow me down the hallway I will show you. Come with me.”, Mr. Landry said as he started walking down the hallway and around a corner making everyone follow him. He then opened the door to the newly built second bedroom that he had recently installed in his house and everyone gasped in shock at what they saw in there. It was filled with a whole bunch of teenage girl stuff with pictures and posters hanging up on the walls, a large flat-screen tv mounted on the wall facing a full size bed and there was even a desk with a desk chair and sitting on it was a brand new iPod touch and a brand new laptop. There was also an Amazon Echo Spot Bluetooth speaker sitting there as well. Melissa’s name was also hanging up on the wall above the bed in big white cursive letters.
“ What the frick frack?!”, Sheldon, Leonard, Howard, Raj and Stuart exclaimed in shock as they stared into the room.
“ Oh my god?!”, Penny, Bernadette, Amy and Midge exclaimed.
“ Scott you put in a second bedroom?!”, Michaela exclaimed in shock.
“ Yes I did Michaela. I had it installed last week when Melissa was spending the night over at your house with the twins.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ Well where did this come from?! Who’s…?!”, Melissa exclaimed in shock as she looked around the room.
“ It’s yours Melissa.”, Mr. Landry said as a smile spread across his face. Everyone gasped in shock again when they heard this.
“ Wha… this is mine?! I don’t understand, why?!”, Melissa exclaimed.
“ Because I would like to adopt you as my daughter.”, Mr. Landry said, still smiling at her. More shocked gasps rang out from everyone else again. Some of the women felt like they were about to cry happy tears.
“ Are you serious?!”, Melissa exclaimed as she started to smile.
“ Yes. I already set up an adoption proceeding that is going to take place during your father’s trial tonight. And that Lakeston last name of yours is going away for good.”, Mr. Landry said as he continued smiling.
“ What do you mean that it’s going away?!”, Melissa exclaimed in shock and confusion as she stared at Mr. Landry.
“ I mean that your name is going to become Melissa Cora Landry.”, Mr. Landry said. In an instant after he said that all the adults started crying happy tears as well as the Cooper twins after they started smiling from ear to ear. Melissa also bursted into happy tears as well as she threw her arms around him.
“ Thank you so much Mr. Landry! You are seriously the nicest person I’ve ever met in my life!”, Melissa happily cried into his shoulder before she let go.
“ You’re very welcome Melissa, I love you.”, Mr. Landry said. Melissa happily cried even more when she heard the words that she had been longing to hear for her whole life before she threw her arms around him again saying that she loved him too.
“ I also have another surprise for you too. Wait here one second.”, Mr. Landry said as he let go of Melissa and walked out of the room for a split second before he came walking back into the room placing something very soft and cute into Melissa’s arms. It was another Golden Retriever puppy.
“ Oh my god no, I’m really gonna cry now!”, Michaela happily cried as she buried her face into her husband’s chest.
“ Another Golden Retriever puppy?! He looks just like Buster did! Hi you little cutie!”, Melissa happily cried as she held the puppy in her arms as he wagged his little tail and licked her face.
“ Yes. I want you to have a replacement of the puppy that you so unfairly lost all those years ago because of your so-called jerk of a father releasing him into the woods.”, Mr. Landry said as he nodded his head.
“ Thank you! Does he have a name?!”, Melissa happily cried.
“ No, you can call him whatever you want.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ I think I’ll call him Comet!”, Melissa happily cried as Comet licked her face again. He let out a little happy yip as well as he kept wagging his tail.
“ Oh my god Scott Mitchell Landry I really have no words for this! This is seriously the nicest thing that you’ve ever done in this entire universe! Melissa’s going to have such a wonderful life now that she’s going to be permanently living with you as your daughter! She’s finally going to get the love that she deserves and a new furry companion to go along with it!”, Michaela happily cried as she threw her arms around her former neighbor. Then she released him as Mrs. Cooper embraced him happily crying, “ God bless your sweet heart Scott! This is a beautiful thing you’re doing for a such a sweet, beautiful young girl! The world needs more people like you in it! Just thank you Lord!” Mr. Landry nodded his head as silent happy tears began to slide down his face as well.
“ You guys are seriously the greatest best friends I’ve ever had in my life! Thank you so much for bringing me to this guy’s house in the first place! You guys saved my life!”, Melissa happily cried as she embraced Meygan and Damien while still holding onto Comet.
“ You’re welcome Melissa! You’re our best friend too!”, Meygan and Damien happily cried. The three of them began to play with Comet together while all the adults talked with each other and shedding happy tears until later that evening when they all drove up to the Pasadena City courthouse for Melissa’s adoption/ Mr. Lakeston’s child abuse trial.
“ All rise for the Honorable Judge Casper Jace Stone!”, the state prosecutor said as the judge entered the courtroom making everyone stand up.
“ Thank you, you may be seated! This adoption proceeding and trial will now begin, it’s Mr. Scott Mitchell Landry and the State of California vs. the defendant Mr. Chuck Lakeston! How does the defendant plead?!”, Judge Stone said as he sat down in front of his table.
“ Not guilty Your Honor!”, Mr. Lakeston’s attorney said as he stood up while Mr. Lakeston sat next to him at the defendant’s bench in an orange prison jumpsuit with his wrists handcuffed in front of him.
“ Wait, what do you mean by adoption?! What is this?!”, Mr. Lakeston demanded in anger as he slammed his hands down on the table. His handcuffs made a loud rattle and metallic bang as he did so.
“ Mr. Lakeston you need to be quiet! This is your trial for all the years of child abuse that you’ve inflicted on your 17 year old daughter Melissa Cora Lakeston and it’s also an adoption proceeding for Mr. Landry to adopt your daughter as his own!”, Judge Stone bellowed at him as he slammed his gavel down on the table.
“ Oh fuck this shit, I’m not letting that happen! No way no how!”, Mr. Lakeston shouted in anger at the judge.
“ Excuse me but you have no say in this! You have lost all your parental rights for how you’ve treated Melissa all these years! You don’t deserve to be her parent after the way you’ve treated her! She’s not a punching bag, she’s a sweet human being with feelings just like everyone else in this whole world! Shut your d*mn mouth and pay attention!”, Mr. Landry shouted in anger at Mr. Lakeston.
“ SHE’S MY DAUGHTER! I’M NOT LETTING YOU TAKE HER FROM ME!”, Mr. Lakeston shouted in anger back at Mr. Landry.
“ Order in the court, silence both of you!”, Judge Stone bellowed as he slammed his gavel down on his table repeatedly to get the two men to shut up. Then he lowered his voice and asked, “ Ok Mr. Landry as Melissa’s father do you swear under oath that you promise to take care of her and love her unconditionally no matter what happens?”
“ Yes I do Your Honor.”, Mr. Landry said as he nodded his head.
“ Alright, sign the form in front of you and she’s now yours. She’s now officially Melissa Cora Landry. Mr. Chuck Lakeston you are hereby sentenced to life in prison without parole! Court adjourned!”, Judge Stone said as he slammed his gavel down again.
“ Thank you!”, Mr. Landry exclaimed with a smile as he signed the form that was placed on the table in front of him.
“ This is ridiculous! You can’t do this to me!”, Mr. Lakeston shouted in anger.
“ Silence your mouth Mr. Chuck Lakeston! The deal has been done! You are no longer Melissa’s father, Mr. Landry is!”, Judge Stone bellowed. Melissa cried tears of happiness as she threw arms around Mr. Landry who was now legally her father. In that moment she had never been so happy in her entire life to be finally free from her ex-father’s abuse. The others celebrated as well, crying happy tears as they embraced each other.
“ Wait wait, there’s one more thing I want to do! Your Honor, may I please do something that I feel is really important?”, Melissa exclaimed when she let go of her new father.
“ Of course Melissa, go ahead.”, Judge Stone said as he nodded his head.
“ Thank you.”, Melissa said before she walked up to her ex-father who just glared at her.
“ What do you want you little bi*ch?!”, Mr. Lakeston hissed in anger through his teeth.
“ All my life I’ve wanted to do this to you but you’ve made me so afraid to, so you know what suck on this you jerk!”, Melissa hissed through her teeth before she landed a hard punch to her former father’s face, breaking his nose as she shouted, “ SCREW-YOU!” with clenched fists at her sides.
“ Excuse me but you think you can do that to me Melissa Cora?! I’m your father!”, Mr. Lakeston shouted in anger.
“ No you’re not, he is! Now get this piece of shit out of my sight and throw him away!”, Melissa shouted in anger as she first pointed at Mr. Landry before she pointed back at Mr. Lakeston. As Mr. Lakeston was then being taken away by police officers he shouted in anger at Mr. Landry, “ I’m gonna kill you for this you dickhead if it’s the last thing I do!”
“ You’re not going to do shit Chuck! Go rot in hell for the rest of your life!”, Mr. Landry shouted as he took Melissa into his arms and lovingly kissed her head.
“ Yeah you big fat loser! Screw you!”, Meygan and Damien exclaimed as they started laughing while smacking each other’s hands.
“ Alright Meygan, Damien, that’s enough! Let’s go back to Mr. Landry’s house and celebrate!”, Michaela laughed in amusement at her two children as she was ushering them towards the doors leading out into the hallway of the courthouse. They all left the courthouse and went back to Mr. Landry’s house to celebrate Mr. Lakeston being put away in prison and Melissa being adopted by Mr. Landry with some champagne, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I Gotta Feeling by The Black Eyed Peas was playing on the radio in the living room.
“ Tonight was a huge victory despite what had happened earlier today with Meygan at school. We got the worst man alive put away for life in prison and…I’ve now gained a daughter. I can’t thank any of you enough for making this happen. You have made me so very happy as well as Melissa. So, a toast to a new life chapter.”, Mr. Landry said with a smile as he held his champagne glass up making everyone raise theirs as well.
“ Cheers!”, Michaela, Sheldon, Meygan, Damien, Melissa, Leonard, Howard, Raj, Penny, Stuart, Amy, Midge, Bernadette, Michaela’s family and Sheldon’s family exclaimed as they all clinked glasses together and took a sip. Comet came trotting up to Melissa, letting out another happy yip as he was wagging his little tail and pouncing on Melissa’s ankle, playfully nipping at it with little puppy teeth.
“ Ow! Comet you don’t nip me you silly little puppy! Come here buddy!”, Melissa shrieked in surprise as she backed away a little and picked up her new pet in her arm as she held onto her glass with some non-alcoholic champagne in it in her other hand. Comet started licking her face which made her start laughing as he was wagging his tail.
“ Ok ok that’s enough! I love you too! I love both you and Dad!”, Melissa laughed as her face kept getting attacked with puppy kisses. Then when the three teens finished their non-alcoholic champagne they started dancing around with each other in the living room after Melissa set Comet back down on the floor.
“ Yeah baby, that’s what’s up!”, Damien exclaimed as he was dancing around like an idiot.
“ Yeah you said it Damien! This is the best night of my life! I can’t believe that I just got adopted and that I have a brand new puppy too! I’m just so freaking happy that I finally got my wish!”, Melissa exclaimed as she was dancing around with the Cooper twins as more happy tears were streaming from her face.
“ We’re so happy too! Here’s to you, Melissa Cora Landry!”, Meygan exclaimed as she was dancing around like an idiot just like her twin brother and their best friend. Comet let out another happy yip as he stood up on all fours on the couch, wagging his tail at them as if to say, “ Hey! What about me?!”
“ And here’s to you too Comet Landry, the newest furry 4 legged member of the Landry family!”, Damien exclaimed with a laugh as he pointed at Comet.
“ Oh shut up Damien Issac Cooper!”, Melissa laughed as she playfully smacked her friend in the shoulder. Damien then switched the song to The Harlem Shake making both his sister and their friend drop their mouths open as they started laughing like maniacs. Damien started nodding his head to the music with a stupid smirk on his face.
“ Oh yeah here we go again bro with the greatest fun song ever made!”, Meygan laughed as she started jumping around bumping her back into her brother’s and Melissa’s, swinging her hands and arms all over the place.
“ Yeah you said it Meygan Kapri Cooper, this sh*t’s awesome!”, Damien laughed as he was doing the same thing.
“ You two crack me up so much that I can’t stand it!”, Melissa laughed as she was doing the same thing as well.
“ You do too Melissa!”, Meygan and Damien laughed.
“ Oh good Lord, not this song again!”, Sheldon interjected as he rolled his eyes.
“ Just let it go Sheldon, they’re having fun with each other! This is a celebration after all!”, Michaela laughed in amusement as she shook her head while standing next to her husband.
“ Oh alright. You’re right Michaela.”, Sheldon said with a smile as he kissed his wife.
“ Oh yeah let’s get it you chumps!”, Ronnie dramatically exclaimed as he started hamming it up.
“ Ronnie!”, Michaela, Sheldon, Leonard, Amy, Penny, Bernadette, Midge, Howard, Raj, Stuart, Meygan, Damien, Melissa, Mr. Landry, Mrs. Cooper, Missy, Georgie, Meemaw, Mrs. Mansfield, Mr. Mansfield, Evie, Reghan, Charlie, Matthew, Kira, Mavis, Alaina, Marywhether, Taylor, Gina, Jared, Kenny, Louise, Carter, Darby, Bonnie, Aunt Martha, Uncle George, Aunt Maria, Uncle Jason, Grandma and Grandpa Mansfield, Grandma and Grandpa Seemans, Aunt Katherine, Uncle Vernon, Aunt Dottie and Uncle Luther, Uncle Francisco, Great Aunt Velma and Great Uncle Jimmy shouted as they all narrowed their eyes at Ronnie.
“ Oh come on everybody, give me a break! I’m just having fun! Damien was the one that turned this song on in the first place!”, Ronnie shot back at his family and the Landrys.
“ Yeah sure, way to throw me under the bus dude!”, Damien laughed in a sarcastic way at his relative.

“ Best night ever!”, Melissa and Meygan laughed.
“ Oh yeah you said it! Let’s get it!”, Carter exclaimed as he started dancing like an idiot.
“ Yeah you fools! That’s what we say!”, Kenny exclaimed as he started doing the same thing.
“ Oh just shut up Kenny!”, Darby laughed as he joined in with his cousins acting like an idiot.
“ Get out of the way you coconutheads, I’m coming through!”, Taylor exclaimed as she came bumping in between her three cousins, twerking her body all over the place to the music.
“ Oh yeah, not if I come through first Taylor! Yippee ki-yay!”, Penny exclaimed as she suddenly joined in with the craziness.
“ Oh yeah let’s go bitches!”, Raj interjected as him and Howard started jumping around like idiots imitating the sounds of junkyard dogs barking at each other.
“ Yeah that’s what’s up Uncle Howard and Uncle Raj! Get it!”, Meygan and Damien laughed as they watched their two uncles acting like fools with each other.
“ Oh Lord in Heaven y’all are killing me right now with this!”, Mrs. Cooper laughed in amusement as she was shaking her head at her two grandchildren. Bernadette just ran after Howard and Raj, slapping them upside the head calling them immature putzes. As the celebration continued the song then switched to The Power Squadron’s Pocketful of Sunshine feat. Maria C.
“ I freaking love this!”, Melissa exclaimed.
“ Best friends forever!”, Damien, Meygan and Melissa exclaimed together as they kept dancing around the living room like idiots to the music.
“ I love you bro!”, Meygan exclaimed as she threw her arms around her twin brother.
“ I love you too sis!”, Damien exclaimed as he threw his arms around his twin sister as well.
“ Cooper twin fire!”, Damien and Meygan exclaimed.
“ Oh my god Sheldon, I so love it when the two of them say that!”, Michaela laughed in amusement shaking her head.
“ It’s obnoxious but I love it too Michaela!”, Sheldon laughed in amusement shaking his head as well.
“ Where in the hell did they come up with that?!”, Penny laughed.
“ We don’t know Penny! They’ve been saying it for years! It’s apparently their thing even though Michaela and I have no understanding of it what so ever!”, Sheldon laughed.
“ Well whatever it is buddy it’s kind of catchy! It makes me laugh every time they say that!”, Leonard laughed in amusement.
“ I think it’s just something fun for them to say Leonard considering the fact that they’re twins! I don’t think it has any significant meaning, I think it’s just a catchphrase or something!”, Amy laughed.
“ That’s exactly what it is Aunt Amy! It is a catchphrase!”, Damien laughed.
“ Yeah what he said!”, Meygan laughed as she pointed at Damien. Damien then kicked his sister in her diaper-covered butt as a joke making her jump away in surprise shrieking, “ Oh I’m so coming for you for that Damien Issac!” as she watched her brother run past her and Melissa into the kitchen to get to the basement stairs laughing his head off.
“ I’d love to see you try Meygan Kapri! Come and get me!”, Damien laughed as he ran into the basement.
“ Let’s get my twin Melissa Cora!”, Meygan laughed as she started tearing after her brother.
“ With pleasure Meygan Kapri! We’re coming for you Damien Issac!”, Melissa laughed as she started chasing her two friends down the basement stairs.
“ I’ll get you my pretty and your little dog too!”, Meygan laughed as she then started laughing like The Wicked Witch of the West from The Wizard of Oz.
“ Oh shut up!”, Damien laughed. The party continued on until everyone went home for the evening leaving just Melissa, Mr. Landry and Comet in the Landry household.
“ Here you go sweetheart. Are you comfy?”, Mr. Landry asked as he was tucking Melissa into her brand new bed after she got ready for bed. Comet was laying in his crate on the floor next to Melissa’s bed with a few toys to chew on.
“ Yes I am. My new bed is so soft.”, Melissa said with a smile as she snuggled underneath the covers.
“ That’s good. Good night Melissa, I love you.”, Mr. Landry said with a smile.
“ Good night I love you too… Dad. Can I watch some tv while I fall asleep?”, Melissa said before she let out a yawn.
“ Of course, here’s the remote. Good night.”, Mr. Landry said with a smile as he kissed her head and handed her the remote before he walked out of the room, shutting the light off and the door behind him. The nightlight came on the moment the room got dark.
“ Good night.”, Melissa said as she picked up the remote and turned on her tv. She decided to watch a few episodes of Friends as she fell asleep. Comet started whining a minute later pawing at the door of his crate making Mr. Landry call out, “ Comet Landry go to sleep! It’s almost midnight and your human sister has school in the morning!” Comet then immediately shut up and fell asleep. A smile began to spread across Melissa’s face as she continued sleeping. She was so happy to finally have a father who actually loved her and that he wasn’t anything like her abusive biological father was. She was also very happy to have a replacement of everything she once had including a new puppy. She knew that everything was going to be ok and that her life would be so much better. The next day when she went to school Melissa was so happy that she couldn’t stop smiling. It was like that all throughout class time but at lunchtime while she was sitting with Meygan and Damien again Hannah suddenly walked up and said in a snarky way, “ Hey what’s up you nerdbowl losers?!” as she suddenly slapped all 3 of them on the back of their heads laughing like an idiot.
“ Ow! Hannah!”, Damien, Meygan and Melissa hissed as they rubbed the back of their heads while staring at Hannah.
“ That’s my name! Don’t wear it out you dorks!”, Hannah laughed in a rude way.
“ Woah woah woah, who let you out of the school jail cell?!”, Damien hissed in shock.
“ Oh shut up Damien Issac Cooper! Officer Killaby let me out this morning! I spent the whole night in there which pissed off my parents to which I don’t give a crapshoot about!”, Hannah laughed.
“ Yeah but why would he do that?! You lied to him yesterday about me punching you in the face when all that really happened was that you fell on your face after you came at me with your fist and I backed up! You made me spend almost an hour sitting in the cell when I didn’t even do anything wrong!”, Meygan shouted.
“ Why don’t you just shut your baby freak face Meygan Kapri Cooper and leave me alone! I don’t give a flying squirrel about what you want!”, Hannah laughed as she tossed her hair over her shoulder.
“ Would you leave the 3 of us alone Hannah?! We don’t want to be bothered by the likes of you right now!”, Melissa shouted in her face.
“ You shut your mouth too Lakeston! I don’t give a crap!”, Hannah shouted.
“ Um excuse me Hannah but my last name is Landry now!”, Melissa shouted.
“ Wait, what?! Since when did you change your last name Melissa?!”, Hannah shot back.
“ Since last night! I’ve been adopted thank you very much!”, Melissa shouted.
“ You’ve been adopted?! You’re 17!”, Hannah laughed with a scoff.
“ So?! Teenagers can get adopted too you idiot!”, Melissa shouted.
“ Oh puhlease, who the hell would adopt you?!”, Hannah laughed.
“ Um hello she’s been adopted by our mother’s former neighbor Mr. Scott Mitchell Landry!”, Meygan shouted as she gestured to herself and her twin brother Damien.
“ Yeah but why?! What happened to your real father?!”, Hannah laughed.
“ My real father got sentenced to life in prison without parole for abusing me for several years of my life! Remember all that stuff that I said that my father did to me which was he threw my stuff away in the garbage without giving me a say in it and releasing my dog Buster into the woods a long time ago?! Well that’s what it was for! I also forgot to mention to you that my father once locked me out of the house during the middle of winter and refused to let me back in for several hours in freezing cold temperatures ranging from 15 degrees to below zero! I could have froze to death at the time because all I was wearing was just a parka jacket over a t-shirt and a pair of blue jean shorts! I had nothing on my feet because my father had cut up all my socks at the time and he wouldn’t let me wear my shoes! So that is why I’m now adopted with a new last name!”, Melissa shouted.
“ You are such a loser Melissa Cora! That is the stupidest thing that I’ve ever heard in my life!”, Hannah laughed.
“ Yeah well you can think whatever the hell you want Wixom but I’m very happy about what happened to me yesterday! Because for the first time in my life I feel like someone actually gives a sh*t about me and loves me even though I’m not his biological child! He’s so nice to me and he treats me with so much respect! He replaced everything that I used to have and even gave me a new puppy dog that I named Comet! I couldn’t be happier with how things turned out!”, Melissa shouted.
“ Well whatever, later you losers! I got to bounce! My boyfriend Leo Fennel just walked in! Time to go sit with him and my girls!”, Hannah laughed as she started walking away towards a really cute looking caucasian boy with dark short hair that just walked into the cafeteria wearing the same t-shirt and blue jeans that Lucas Cruikshank’s Fred character wears minus the yellow suspenders.
“ Wait, what?!”, Damien shouted in complete shock.
“ Since when did you get a boyfriend?!”, Meygan and Melissa shouted.
“ That’s none of your business to know Meygan and Melissa! Shut up!”, Hannah shouted back before she forcibly wrapped her around Leo’s yanking him towards the table that she was sitting at with her friends.
“ Ugh, Hannah Wixom is such a big fat ugly whore jerk!”, Meygan hissed.
“ Yeah, I agree! How is that she actually got somebody to go out with her all of a sudden?! She never had a boyfriend before this whole lying incident that she commenced yesterday!”, Melissa hissed.
“ Yeah well I think she forced him to go out with her just as another way to torture Meygan and make her jealous! That’s the only way I can explain how Hannah is suddenly taken so fast! It couldn’t have happened last night because she was locked up in the school jail cell so it had to have happened this morning after Officer Killaby let her out!”, Damien hissed.
“ You’re right, I’ll bet you anything that’s exactly what she did Damien! Just look at her, laughing it up with those stupid cliquesters of hers! Ooh that girl makes me so mad!”, Melissa hissed as she pointed at Hannah and her friends with Leo sitting with them. The 4 girls were laughing it up with each other while Leo was pretending to have a good time with them. He even fakely kissed Hannah’s cheek.
“ Yeah I agree! What a bitch!”, Meygan hissed. As the three of them continued sitting around talking little did they know that Leo was actually beginning to stare at Meygan while Hannah and her friends were distracted by talking to each other.
‘ Damn, Damien’s twin sister Meygan is so pretty! I really wish I was with her instead of icky Hannah!’, Leo thought as he kept staring longingly at the girl that he actually had a huge secret crush on for a long time but didn’t want to make himself look like a loser in front of the whole school by admitting his feelings right away.
“ Hey Leo, quit staring!”, Hannah hissed as she nudged her elbow against Leo’s arm which immediately snapped his attention back to his so-called ‘girlfriend’ and her friends.
“ Sorry Hannah.”, Leo said with a fake smile as he then let out a sigh and the conversations continued among the 5 of them with Leo periodically staring back at Meygan as she kept talking to her twin brother and their best friend.
“ Hey look, that girl’s just sitting there all by herself with no one to talk to.”, Melissa said as she pointed at a caucasian girl with long dark hair wearing a blue and purple horizontal striped t-shirt, blue jean shorts and white Reeboks on her feet that was just sitting all alone at another table eating her lunch. She looked kind of sad and shy which didn’t sit right with Melissa.
“ Yeah Melissa, I think that’s the new girl that just enrolled here this morning. Should we go ask her to sit with us?”, Damien asked.
“ I think we should Damien. She looks like she needs a few friends to talk to.”, Melissa said as she nodded her head.
“ Yeah I agree. Let’s go talk to her.”, Meygan said as the three of them stood up and walked over to the other table where the girl was just sitting by herself.
“ Hi!”, Damien, Meygan and Melissa said with smiles on their faces as they stood on the other side of the table.
“ Oh…hi. What’s up?”, the girl nervously asked when she looked up and saw them standing in front of her.
“ Well we noticed that you were sitting here alone by yourself with no one to talk to. Do you want to come sit with us?”, Melissa asked.
“ Oh really? You wouldn’t mind?”, the girl asked in a shy voice as she perked up a bit.
“ No not at all! Come sit with us!”, Meygan said as she motioned her head towards the table that they were sitting at.
“ Ok, thanks!”, the girl said as she picked up her tray and followed the Cooper twins and Melissa back to their table. As she sat down with them she said, “ I’m so sorry about that. It’s just that I just moved to this area and I don’t know anyone yet.”
“ That’s ok, no worries. It can be pretty scary to move into a new community and try to get to know people.”, Meygan said with a smile.
“ Yeah that’s true. I’m a little shy around people I don’t know.”, the girl shyly said.
“ Well why don’t we just introduce ourselves. I’m Melissa Cora Landry and these are my two best friends Meygan Kapri Cooper and her twin brother Damien Issac Cooper.”, Melissa said as she introduced the three of them.
“ Hi nice to meet you, I’m Shayn Lauren Witcherson.”, Shayn said with a smile as she threw her hair over her shoulder.
“ Nice to meet you too Shayn.”, Meygan, Damien and Melissa said.
“ So, you two are twins?”, Shayn asked Meygan and Damien.
“ Yeah we are. We both came into this world at the exact same time.”, Meygan said.
“ Yeah it’s true and not only is she my twin sister but she’s also my best friend too. We do everything together.”, Damien said as he pointed at his sister.
“ That’s awesome!”, Shayn exclaimed but then she asked, “ Um Meygan this might be kind of a rude question to ask considering the fact that we all just met, but, what’s that bracelet you have on your wrist?”
“ Oh this? It’s my medic alert bracelet that says Incontinence on it.”, Meygan said as she showed off the metal bracelet that she had on her wrist.
“ You have a medical condition?”, Shayn asked.
“ Yeah I do. I was unfortunately diagnosed with it when Damien and I were 4 years old. We had just gotten picked up from daycare by our two aunts Aunt Midge and Aunt Penny and they took us back to Aunt Penny’s apartment for a while because our parents were working a little later than usual that day. Damien wanted to watch tv at the time so he kept asking me to turn it on and I told him I would after I plug it in because it wasn’t even plugged into the wall at the moment so while our two aunts were talking in the kitchen area with each other I attempted to plug the tv in myself but my finger accidentally got a little too close to the outlet and it shocked me to the point where it unknowingly at the time created some permanent nerve damage to my bladder sphincter/brain connection and it made me lose control of my bladder. It hurt so bad that it made me cry. So because of this I have to wear diapers for the rest of my life to prevent me from getting very sick and dying from potentially life-threatening diseases.”, Meygan said.
“ Oh Meygan that’s horrible, I’m so sorry that you have to go through that.”, Shayn sympathetically said.
“ Thanks Shayn, it sucks but what can I do? It was just a very dumb mistake I made which I don’t even know how I could have made that dumb of a mistake to begin with considering the fact that both my brother and I have received genius IQs from our father.”, Meygan said.
“ Your dad’s a genius?”, Shayn asked.
“ Yes he is! He’s a theoretical physicist who works at Caltech University! He’s got an IQ of 187!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ Shut up! That’s awesome Damien! What does your mom do?!”, Shayn exclaimed.
“ Our mom works at a local grocery store as a cashier and stocks the shelves sometimes.”, Meygan said.
“ Wow, that’s interesting! A grocery store employee married to a brilliant theoretical physicist! That’s something you don’t see everyday!”, Shayn exclaimed.
“ No you certainly don’t!”, Damien and Meygan laughed as they shook their heads.
“ Who are your parents exactly?”, Shayn asked.
“ Dr. Sheldon Lee Cooper and Michaela Janet Cooper.”, Meygan and Damien said.
“ That’s nice.”, Shayn said. The 4 of them continued to eat lunch and talk to each other before they headed back to class together. Then after school they went their separate ways after they gave each other their phone numbers. Leo arrived home shortly after he got off the school bus and walked into the Fennel household to see his mother in the kitchen mashing potatoes for their evening’s dinner. His father wasn’t home yet because he was still working and his 2 sisters Yoshaun and Kaylee were hanging out with their friends at the movies.
“ Hi mom, I’m home.”, Leo said as he took his backpack off and set it down on the breakfast nook chair.
“ Oh hi Leo, did you have a good day at school today?”, Mrs. Fennel asked as she looked at her son while mashing the potatoes in a pot on the stove.
“ It was alright, I got a girlfriend today.”, Leo said in an unenthusiastic voice.
“ Oh really? That’s nice. Who is it?”, Mrs. Fennel asked.
“ Hannah Wixom.”, Leo said in that same voice.
“ Well you don’t sound too happy about it.”, Mrs. Fennel said in concern.
“ That’s because I’m not Mom, I really don’t like this girl. She’s so mean and bossy to everyone and in my opinion she’s so unattractive.”, Leo said with an irritated sigh.
“ Well that doesn’t make any sense. Why are you with this girl if you don’t even like her Leo?”, Mrs. Fennel asked.
“ Because she forced me to go out with her today after we bumped into each other this morning. She got in trouble yesterday for lying to the school police officer about being punched in the face. She said that if I didn’t go out with her she was going to embarrass me in front of everyone and so I felt like I had no choice. Now I’m stuck dating a girl that I don’t even like when I would rather be with someone else that I actually really do like.”, Leo hissed.
“ Ok well who is it that you actually do like?”, Mrs. Fennel asked.
“ Well, there’s these twins at school named Damien and Meygan Cooper and I actually really like Meygan, like a lot a lot, but nobody else at school knows that. I didn’t want to be called a loser so I just kept my feelings to myself. Meygan was actually the girl that Hannah lied about punching her in the face.”, Leo said with a sigh.
“ Well why would you think that everyone would call you a loser?”, Mrs. Fennel asked in confusion.
“ Because the thing is Mom that… Meygan’s got this medical condition called involuntary incontinence which means she can’t control her excretory system and so she has to wear diapers everyday for the rest of her life due to a freak accident involving an electrical outlet at their aunt’s apartment when her and Damien were 4 years old. Hannah and her friends think she’s a baby because of it and they bully her constantly but to be honest that medical condition that Meygan has doesn’t really bother me. I think she’s really pretty regardless and I so want to date her but at the same time I want to fit in with everyone.”, Leo said.
“ Well Leo don’t do something that’s not you. If you really actually like this girl then don’t care about what other people think. You should just listen to your own feelings and just be yourself. Because if you just follow the crowd it’s going to make you look like a bad person too and that’s not how your father and I raised you.”, Mrs. Fennel said as she shook her head at her son.
“ I know Mom but you and Dad don’t get it how high school is. Everyone’s always got to have their cliques, you know?”, Leo said.
“ Yes I do get it but we’ll discuss this more later when your father and your sisters get home. Now go do your homework.”, Mrs. Fennel said as she was stirring butter into the potatoes.
“ Ok.”, Leo said as he picked up his bag and headed to his room to go start his homework. Meanwhile the skies over Pasadena were beginning to become dark with black storm clouds rolling in. Mr. Landry was in the kitchen sweeping the floor and whistling too when all of a sudden he was interrupted by a flash of lightning followed by a loud clap of thunder coming from outside the house as the rain began to pour very heavily and the wind was blowing pretty strong. The sky was dark with a slight tinge of green in it, the kind of sky that made you think that a tornado was coming.
‘ Oh well that doesn’t look good. Let me go check the weather on the tv in the living room.’, Mr. Landry thought in concern when he first looked out the kitchen window before he set the broom down and walked into the living room turning on the tv. He put The Weather Channel on and almost immediately he was met with an all too familiar screeching alert tone blasting out of the tv with a Severe Thunderstorm Warning message scrolling across the bottom of the screen along with a monotoned male automated voice as well. At first Mr. Landry wasn’t too concerned but something in his gut told him that the conditions outside seemed right for the possibility of a tornado to form so he immediately shut the tv back off and went to Melissa’s bedroom.
Knock knock!
“ Yeah Dad, come in! What is it?!”, Melissa said as she was sitting at her desk doing her homework. Comet was laying on the floor by her feet chewing on a small bone.
“ Melissa why don’t you grab Comet and go sit down in the basement for a while. There’s a pretty bad storm going on outside right now.”, Mr. Landry said as he walked into his daughter’s room.
“ Wait, what do you mean there’s… holy crap!”, Melissa exclaimed as she jumped up from her desk after she saw a flash of lightning from the corner of her eye and heard a loud boom of thunder coming from outside.
“ Yeah that’s going on sweetheart. There’s a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in the area. So get Comet and get downstairs because in my opinion the conditions outside look like they could produce a tornado any minute.”, Mr. Landry said in a serious tone.
“ Ok, come on Comet! Let’s go!”, Melissa exclaimed as she put her finished homework away, picked up Comet’s toys, stuffed them into the puppy crate before she put Comet into the crate and carried it with her out of her room towards the kitchen and down the basement steps after she grabbed her cell phone, laptop and iPod as well as the chargers for them. Once Melissa was safely in the basement with Comet, Mr. Landry then decided to call Michaela and Sheldon as well as Leonard and Penny telling them to come over right away due to the weather getting very bad and for the fact that they didn’t have basements. He told them that it was a Severe Thunderstorm Warning but that he felt that the conditions seemed right for a possible tornado to develop any minute and he didn’t want them getting themselves caught out in dangerous conditions. Within a few minutes they all arrived with Oakley tearing into the house barking as she was running to the basement steps and Meygan screamed, “ Oakley get back here!” as she was running after her while Damien had a hold of Max in his arms as he stood next to his and his twin’s parents, their godfather and their aunt.
“ Great Caesar’s Ghost it’s madness out there Scott! It’s pouring like cats and dogs out there like you wouldn’t even believe!”, Sheldon shrieked as he tossed the umbrella onto the living room floor.
“ Oh I believe it Sheldon! I’ve never seen downpour this hard before ever in my life! So did you all make it here safely?!”, Mr. Landry asked.
“ Yes we did although there was a slight mishap with Leonard calling us saying that his car was almost sliding off the road due to the flooding water that had accumulated on the streets.”, Michaela said as she threw her umbrella down as well. Meygan’s diaper bag was hanging over her shoulder too.
“ Exactly Michaela because he’s an asthmatic dumb a** who didn’t listen to me when I told him we should’ve taken a different way around the flood water!”, Penny hissed as she narrowed her eyes at Leonard.
“ Oh for God sakes, it didn’t even look that flooded to me Penny! I was taking a shortcut! God forbid if a tornado were to have touched down on us we would have been dead by the time if we decided to take a longer way around! Tornadoes are UNPREDICTABLE forces of Mother Nature!”, Leonard shot back as he sucked on his inhaler.
“ That is true Leonard, nobody can predict what a tornado will do.”, Mr. Landry said as he nodded his head.
“ Yes well shall we all go downstairs now to wait for this storm to pass? Just standing around up here talking about a tornado is making me very concerned.”, Sheldon said.
“ Yes let’s all go downstairs and make ourselves comfortable.”, Mr. Landry said as they headed to the kitchen.
“ Yeah but where’s Meygan?! I saw her run in here after Oakley but I don’t where she went now!”, Damien exclaimed in concern when he noticed that his twin sister was missing along with the Cooper family dog.
“ She’s here somewhere Damien, hold on one second.”, Michaela said before she interjected down the basement steps, “ Meygan, where are you?!”
“ I’m already down here in the basement Mom! I’m down here with Oakley, Melissa and Comet!”
“ Ok! Just checking! Your twin brother was looking for you!”, Michaela interjected.
“ Oh ok! I’m down here Damien!”
“ Alright Meygan here I come with Max!”, Damien interjected as he descended the stairs into the basement with Max in his arms. Max was purring and meowing like he was scared of the noises that were going on outside. As Damien was walking down the stairs with the adults following his footsteps sounded like he was stomping.
“ Yo Damien would you stop your stomping! You sound like an apeman and it’s scaring Meygan and I!”, Melissa hissed.
“ Oh, sorry about that Melissa!”, Damien said as he softened his footseteps. Once they were all sitting down on the couches and chairs that were down there while the storm continued raging outside Meygan began to have a hard time sitting still.
“ Sis you ok?”, Damien asked as he stared at his twin sister.
“ What do you think Damien? No. I’m feeling uncomfortable.”, Meygan said as she bit her lip and kept moving around on the couch.
“ Mom do you mind if I take Meygan to the bathroom to change her this time?”, Damien asked as he looked at his mother.
“ Sure, knock yourself out Damien.”, Michaela said as she slid Meygan’s diaper bag off her shoulder and handed it to her son.
“ Thanks. Ok come here Meygan.”, Damien said as he took the bag from his mother before he scooped up his sister off the couch and carried her to bathroom that was down there in the basement. Once he was done Meygan then sat up and wrapped her arms around him, giving him a loving embrace as she moaned in comfort and said with a smile, “ Thank you.”
“ You’re welcome sis, I love you.”, Damien said with a smile into his sister’s ear as he threw the used items away into the trash before he kissed the side of her head and carried her out of the bathroom along with the bag.
“ Here Mom, all done.”, Damien said as he handed the bag back to his mother before he set his twin sister back down on the couch.
“ Ok, thank you so much for doing that.”, Michaela said as she put the bag away.
“ No problem.”, Damien said as he sat back down on the couch too.
“ Do you feel better Meygan?”, Melissa asked.
“ Yeah I do, although I’m feeling a bit cold now despite the fact that I’m wearing a windbreaker over my t-shirt, jeans and diaper.”, Meygan said as she nodded her head while her body began to shiver a bit from being slightly cold.
“ Well here’s a blanket sweetie.”, Penny said with a smile as she gently draped a soft blanket over Meygan.
“ Thank you Aunt Penny. That actually feels much better now.”, Meygan said as she stopped shivering. Another clap of thunder sounded outside after another flash of lightning split the sky and the rain kept pouring down. The wind was howling and it had begun to start hailing as well.
Ring ring ring ring ring ring ring!
“ For god sakes, what’s that now?!”, Leonard asked he rolled his eyes.
“ That’s the weather radio Leonard. Can you please go see what it says?”, Mr. Landry said.
“ Sure Scott.”, Leonard said as he got up from the chair he was sitting in and walked over to where the NOAA weather radio was sitting. The watch indicator was lit up and the screen said Tornado Watch.
“ Oh fracking fudge balls, we’re under a Tornado Watch now!”, Leonard hissed.
“ Oh dear Lord, that does not sound good.”, Sheldon said in concern.
“ No it really does not.”, Mr. Landry said in concern.
“ Dad I’m scared! I don’t want a tornado to hit us!”, Melissa said in fear as she started to cry.
“ Melissa calm down it’s ok. A tornado is not going to hit us. We’re going to be fine and we’re safe and sound down here in the basement.”, Mr. Landry said as he pulled her into a loving embrace. He kissed her head as he was rubbing circles on her back. Melissa began to calm down shortly after that and she said to Damien, “ Damien why don’t you text Shayn and ask her what her and her family are doing right now.”
“ Ok.”, Damien said as he took his phone out and started texting their new friend.
“ Who’s Shayn?”, Michaela asked.
“ She’s our new friend that we met at school today Mom. She just moved here recently and just enrolled this morning.”, Meygan said.
“ Oh well that’s nice. Does she have a last name?”, Sheldon asked.
“ Yeah she does, it’s Witcherson.”, Melissa said.
“ Witcherson? That’s a very interesting last name. I don’t think we’ve ever heard that one before.”, Penny said.
“ Yeah we haven’t either Aunt Penny, but, that’s her last name.”, Damien said.
“ So what did Shayn say Damien?”, Meygan asked.
“ Um she said that they’re down in the basement at their house too. Well, she’s down there with her mom, sister and 2 brothers. Her dad however I think she said that he’s out on the road watching the storm because apparently he’s a storm chaser.”, Damien said as he was looking at the text message that Shayn sent back to him.
“ Mr. Witcherson is a storm chaser?!”, Leonard asked in concern.
“ Yeah he is according to what Shayn said in her text message to me Uncle Leonard. See?”, Damien said as he flashed his phone in front of his godfather’s face.
“ Oh yeah, it does say that.”, Leonard said as he looked at the screen with slightly squinted eyes.
“ Well in my personal opinion, that really isn’t too smart. Shayn better hope that her father doesn’t get himself hurt. Storm chasing is very dangerous.”, Sheldon said in concern as Damien put his phone away.
“ Yes I very much agree with that Sheldon. Weather is very unpredictable and half the time people don’t even know what they’re doing when it comes to chasing storms.”, Mr. Landry said.
“ Indeed Scott.”, Sheldon said as he nodded his head.
“ I’m tired, I’m going to take a nap. Wake me up if anything happens.”, Damien said with a yawn as he slumped over into a pillow on the couch and fell asleep.
“ Ok.”, Michaela said. As the rest of them all sat there in silence for the next few minutes listening to the thunder raging outside with the rain and hail hitting the house as well the howling wind the lights began to flicker making Melissa feel a bit scared again. She clung to her father as she could feel the tears coming down her face again.
“ Melissa calm down it’s just the lights. There’s nothing we can do about it, there’s a storm going on.”, Mr. Landry said as he started rubbing her back again.
“ Yeah I get it Dad but I don’t want it to…!”, Melissa cried as the lights kept flickering for a few more minutes before the power went out entirely engulfing the entire Landry basement in pitch black darkness.
“ And there goes the power. Son of a bitch!”, Leonard hissed as he pounded his fist into his thigh and threw his head back.
“ Wait, what’s going on and why is it so dark down here?”, Damien asked when he suddenly woke back up and noticed how dark it was in the basement.
“ That’s because the storm just knocked the power out Damien.”, Sheldon said.
“ Oh crap! My phone is on 30% battery and I need to charge it but how can I do that when there’s no power?!”, Damien hissed when he took his phone out and saw that his battery indicator was at 30%.
“ Well, try to conserve as much power as you can. You’ll just have to wait until the storm passes and the power comes back on.”, Michaela said.
“ No he doesn’t. I got a rechargeable battery pack right here that’s fully charged and I’m charging my phone with it right now.”, Meygan said as she turned her phone flashlight on to show off the battery pack that she brought from home that her phone was plugged into.
“ Oh really?! Thanks sis, you’re a lifesaver!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ No problem bro, just plug your phone in right here.”, Meygan said as she pointed at an open USB cable slot on the battery pack. Damien took out his charging cord, plugged his phone into it and plugged the cord into the battery pack. His phone screen lit up for a moment to indicate that his phone was charging.
“ Is this thing powerful enough to charge both our devices Meygan?”, Damien asked.
“ Yeah it is Damien. It can charge up to 4 devices at once at least 6 or 7 times on a single charge. It’s pretty big and holds a lot of power.”, Meygan said.
“ Sweet! Where did you get this?!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ I got it at Walmart when Mom and I went grocery shopping. I figured it would be useful for situations like this.”, Meygan said.
“ Oh yeah I almost forgot that I let you buy that. That was a smart idea.”, Michaela said with a giddy laugh.
“ Well of course Mom! Damien and I have genius IQs just like Dad!”, Meygan laughed.
“ Yes that’s most certainly true Meygan but that doesn’t mean that you and your twin brother are smarter than me. No one is.”, Sheldon said to his daughter as he sat next to his wife in the dark basement. He then got up, took his phone out, turned the flashlight on and started walking around the basement with it shining it around like a police officer and security guard would.
“ What the hell are you doing Dr. Whack-A-Doodle?!”, Penny hissed at her wacky theoretical physicist friend.
“ Excuse me but what does it look like I’m doing Penny?! I’m checking this basement for water leaks, making sure that flood water is not getting down here!”, Sheldon interjected as he kept up his inspection.
“ Oh balls! Why do you even care if water’s leaking down here Sheldon?! This isn’t even your house! It’s Scott Landry’s!”, Penny hissed as she rolled her eyes.
“ Yes I’m well aware of that but you don’t need to act like a big ol’ five and scream at me!”, Sheldon shot back at his friend which immediately earned him an interjection of, “ Sheldon! Not in front of our children!” from his wife Michaela.
“ Wait, what’s…?”, Meygan started to ask in confusion but was immediately interrupted by her mother scolding, “ Meygan Kapri Cooper you don’t need to repeat what your father just said! That was very inappropriate!”
“ Ok.”, Meygan said. The storm and the power outage lasted for a few hours before it all stopped and the lights came back on. The Coopers, Penny and Leonard then left the Landrys house and went back home. Then the next day Meygan woke up and she saw the time she freaked out, “ Oh my god Damien! We overslept! We need to get going to school or we’re going to be late!” which immediately woke Damien up hissing, “ Oh sh*t!” under his breath before the twins rushed into the bathroom to brush their teeth. As they were scrubbing their teeth vigorously in front of the sink and mirror Michaela came running in there looking completely worried and confused.
“ Woah woah woah, what’s going on?! Why are you in such a rush?!”, Michaela asked in concern as she stared at her two children.
“ Because we overslept Mom! We’re supposed to be in school by now!”, Meygan shrieked as she continued scrubbing her teeth very fast before she threw the toothbrush back into the holder and Damien did the same thing. They were about ready to go rush off to their rooms to get dressed but Michaela got in their way and said, “ Ok slow down you two, you don’t need to rush. Principal Sumner just called your father and I and said that school’s been cancelled today.”
“ School’s cancelled?”, Meygan asked in confusion.
“ Yes. You don’t need to rush, you’re not late for anything.”, Michaela said as she nodded her head.
“ Why is school cancelled for today?”, Damien asked in confusion.
“ He said that he’s having maintainence come in to clean the carpets and he doesn’t want students getting in the way. So, no school today.”, Michaela said.
“ Oh sweet! So we get to stay home today?!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ Not necessarily. Your father and I still have to work today.”, Michaela said as she shook her head.
“ Well where are we going then?”, Meygan asked in confusion.
“ You two are going to Caltech with your father to hang out in his office for the day.”, Michaela said.
“ Oh ok.”, Meygan said.
“ Damien why don’t you go get dressed while I get your sister changed and dressed as well.”, Michaela said.
“ Ok Mom.”, Damien said as he ran to his room to get dressed while his mother was tending to his sister in her room. Once both twins were dressed and had breakfast the Coopers then piled into the car and when Michaela pulled up in the parking lot of Caltech her family stepped out and as Sheldon was putting his messenger bag over his shoulder Michaela then handed him Meygan’s diaper bag and said, “ Bye Sheldon, have a good day at work. I’ll see the three of you later.”
“ You too Michaela, love you.”, Sheldon said with a smile as he kissed his wife.
“ Love you too. Bye.”, Michaela said as she kissed her husband back before he shut the door and she drove away. Sheldon then let himself into the building using his work ID card and walked down the hallway with his son and daughter following him. Damien and Meygan were playfully smacking each other’s hands and laughing like any other normal teenagers would as Sheldon was walking ahead of them carrying both his messenger bag and Meygan’s diaper bag across his shoulder over his dark blue windbreaker jacket, Green Lantern shirt, khakis and his shoes. He also had his wristwatch on his wrist as well. Once they got to his office door and he took his key out to unlock the door he turned around and scolded, “ Ok Meygan, Damien, would you two please calm yourselves down?! You two are getting a little too obnoxious right now and that’s most definitely not appreciated at the moment! I need to be able to focus on my work and I can not have you two distracting me like that! Am I clear?!”
“ Yes Dad, we get it.”, Damien and Meygan said as they toned their obnoxious teenage behavior down.
“ Thank you.”, Sheldon said as he unlocked his office door before he opened it and they walked inside.
“ Woah, cool!”, Damien exclaimed as he immediately ran over to his father’s desk and picked up a gyroscope to mess with it.
“ Excuse me Damien Issac Cooper but please do not touch things on my desk without asking me! That is very rude!”, Sheldon scolded his son as he took the gyroscope away and put it back on his desk.
“ Ok, sorry Dad.”, Damien said as he then dug into his backpack and pulled out his Nintendo Switch to play a game. Meygan then dug into her backpack and pulled out her VideoNow XP device and a set of headphones to watch an episode of Drake and Josh on it. Damien sat on the small couch that was in the office to play his game through a set of headphones while Meygan sat in Sheldon’s desk chair in the middle of the office, spinning around in it slowly while watching her show. Sheldon was standing at his whiteboard doing his equations while humming some catchy tune in concentration. Everything was quiet for a little while and while Meygan was still watching her show her bladder released and she had a bowel movement as well into her diaper to which she didn’t really notice at first but then she began to slightly shift around on the desk chair to make herself more comfortable but to no avail. Sheldon almost immediately stopped what he was doing and when he turned around to see what his daughter was doing he picked up the diaper bag, carried it over to his desk and set it down on the floor behind it before he walked over to Meygan, gently paused the device she had in her hand before he took it from her and said, “ Ok come here sweetheart.” as he picked her up off the chair and carried her behind his desk, laying her down on the waterproof change pad that he just took out of the bag.
“ Damien? Damien!”, Sheldon scolded as he started snapping his fingers to get his son’s attention who was still sitting on the couch playing his game with the headphones on his head.
“ Yeah Dad, what is it?”, Damien asked as he took the headphones off and looked at his father.
“ Can you please go close the blinds on the windows and latch the door for the moment? I’m changing Meygan’s diaper and I don’t want somebody accidentally walking in on us.”, Sheldon said as he pointed at the wall of windows behind him as well as the window next to the door and the door itself.
“ Oh sure, I can do that.”, Damien said as he paused his game, set his Switch down and jumped up from the couch to go do what his father asked him to do.
“ Thank you.”, Sheldon said as he rubbed his hands with Purell before he slipped latex gloves on his hands. As he went about the important task in front of him Meygan started to cry a bit in pain because her skin felt a bit irritated but then she calmed down after Sheldon rubbed some rash cream on her and put some talcum powder on it before he grabbed a fresh clean diaper out of the bag and wrapped it around her lower abdomen. It had a rainbow on the front where the adhesive tabs met with each other. He then slipped her jeans back on and sat her up to squirt some Purell into her hands. Meygan then rubbed her hands with the Purell while her father cleaned up the mess before he did something that he rarely ever did. Instead of placing her back on the chair he decided to hold his 17 year old daughter like a baby in one of his arms as he continued working on his whiteboard. The way that Meygan was being held just like she was as a baby made her feel comfortable to the point where she began to fall asleep. Being in her father’s loving arm made her feel happy.
“ I love you my sweet baby girl. I love you so much, just as much as your beautiful mother and your twin brother.”, Sheldon whispered with a smile as he softly kissed Meygan’s head and continued working while holding her in his arm. If there was one other thing that brought him much joy other than his work and everything else he enjoyed it would be his family. He loved his wife Michaela and their twins so much that he didn’t know what he would ever do without them. Meygan and Damien were a wonderful blessing to them and he couldn’t have asked for anything better. Things were quiet again for a while until Damien got a bit bored playing his game and while his father and twin sister weren’t looking he grabbed his iPod and earbudds out of his backpack before he quietly slipped out of the office and began to roam the hallways listening to his iPod. He was listening to Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC and was so distracted that he somehow made his way up a flight of stairs leading to the university rooftop, ignoring the warning signs about the mobile phone antennas that were somewhere up there and decided to sit on one of the skylights as he continued to rock out to his music like any other normal 17 year old boy would do. But little did he know he was about to get discovered up there by President Siebert, Dr. Gablehauser and Mrs. Davis when they were walking in one of the hallways talking to each other and noticed a shadow casted on the floor, making them look up at the very high ceiling and skylight to see Damien sitting there rocking out like an idiot to his music.
“ Son of a gun I don’t believe this!”, President Siebert shrieked in surprise.
“ Yeah you’re telling me! Are you freaking kidding me?!”, Dr. Gablehauser shrieked in surprise.
“ God there’s always a problem isn’t there?! That looks like Dr. Cooper’s son Damien up there!”, Mrs. Davis said she rolled her eyes.
“ That’s because it is Damien! What the hell is he doing up on the roof?! He’s not supposed to be up there, there’s antennas up there and he’s going to hurt himself if he’s not careful!”, Dr. Gablehauser interjected.
“ Yes that’s very much true but let’s see what he’s going to do for a moment.”, President Siebert said in concern as the three of them kept watching to see what Damien was going to do next but as they were watching they gasped in horror as the center part of the skylight suddenly gave way and fell all the way to the floor, smashing into a million pieces which caused the security alarm as well as the fire alarm to go off and Damien to scream in terror as he fell slightly, catching himself on the edge dangling like 15 feet in the air through the broken skylight. This immediately caught the attention of almost everyone in the building and as they started making their way towards the scene in the hallway Dr. Gablehauser shouted, “ Damien, you alright?!”
“ No! I’m in a predicaments!”, Damien screamed in terror as he held on for dear life.
“ Oh for God sakes! Raj, Howard, stay here for a moment! I need to go get Sheldon!”, Leonard screamed as he ran down the hallway and when he got to Sheldon’s office he threw open the door and screamed, “ Sheldon!”
“ Good Lord! Leonard what is the meaning of this interruption?! This better be good!”, Sheldon hissed as he set Meygan back down on her feet and turned around to face Leonard after he set his dry erase marker down.
“ Buddy you need to come with me out into the hallway right now! Damien is dangling from one of the skylights on the roof!”, Leonard screamed.
“ Excuse me but what are you talking about?! He’s… oh son of a bitch!”, Sheldon shrieked in a panic when he noticed that Damien wasn’t in his office anymore and followed Leonard running down the hallway like a bat out of hell screaming, “ DAMIEN!” as Meygan ran after them too.
“ Alright everyone move right now, that’s my son! Damien Issac Cooper how in the name of Sir Issac Newton’s Law did you get up there?!”, Sheldon screamed as he shoved his way through his fellow coworkers, his bosses and the campus security guards who were gathered around underneath the broken skylight that Damien was hanging from, screaming his head off in terror over the shrieking security alarms and fire alarms.
“ I don’t know Dad but I’m freaking out now! Somebody get me down from here or I’m going to fall to my death!”, Damien screamed in terror. The security guards immediately ran up the stairs to get to the stairwell leading up to the roof.
“ Smooth Cwooper, you just found another way to annoy us at work!”, Kripke snidely said as he rolled his eyes.
“ No it’s clearly obvious Kripke! Look we have Dr. Dumb ass and Dumb ass Jr.”, Leslie laughed in a derogatory manner as she pointed at Sheldon and Damien.
“ Leslie will you please shut your mouth! Do not say derogatory remarks like that about my son! That’s very disrespectful and as for what you said Kripke, how was I supposed to know that my son was going to do that?! I was working in my office and I had my daughter with me!”, Sheldon shouted.
“ He’s a 17 year old boy Dr. Cooper, it’s very obvious that he would do things like that when you’re not paying attention!”, Mrs. Davis interjected.
“ Yeah well Damien wasn’t paying attention to what he was doing either!”, Leonard interjected, defending his godson.
“ Dr. Hofstadter this matter does not involve you at the moment!”, Mrs. Davis interjected.
“ Um excuse me but it does Mrs. Davis because he’s my godson! Him and his twin sister Meygan are both my godchildren so legally I have every right to say whatever the hell I want to when it comes to them being involved in any certain situation! Am I right or am I wrong Sheldon?!”, Leonard hissed.
“ Yes you’re correct Leonard.”, Sheldon said as he nodded his head.
“ See?! I do have the right to say whatever I want about this! You can’t tell me otherwise!”, Leonard hissed.
“ Alright fine, I won’t argue with you!”, Mrs. Davis shot back.
“ Thank you!”, Leonard hissed.
“ Um hello have you all forgotten about me?! I’M STILL HANGING UP HERE!”, Damien screamed in terror as he kept hanging on for dear life but slowly he started to feel the laws of gravity effecting him which made him ramp up his breathing even more.
“ Bro would you just calm down?! Campus security is on their way up there to get you!”, Meygan screamed at her twin brother.
“ Yeah thanks for the tip sis! I can already feel myself beginning to slip! Somebody help me!”, Damien screamed in terror.
“ Oh for cripes sake!”, Raj hissed under his breath.
“ Damien just keep holding on, security is almost there! Whatever you do, do not let go!”, Howard shouted.
“ Can it Uncle Howard! I know what to do, I’m not an idiot!”, Damien screamed in terror.
“ Ok ok you can let go now! We got you buddy!”, one of the campus security guards interjected when him and a fellow guard reached down and grabbed his forearms to pull him up. There were a few other ones standing behind them on standby just in case if anything bad were to happen. Damien then let go and guards pulled him up before they escorted him back down the stairs. Damien just threw himself into his father’s arms crying when he was back on the floor inside the building.
“ Oh Lord, Damien you scared the hell out of me! I thought I was going to lose you!”, Sheldon screamed as he embraced his son, rubbing circles on his back as he kissed his head.
“ I know Dad, I was really scared!”, Damien cried.
“ Don’t you EVER do that to me again! You nearly gave me a heart attack!”, Sheldon scolded as he firmly gripped Damien’s face before he continued to embrace him and kiss his head, not really caring about the possible germs and pathogens being transferred to his person at the moment. At that moment the only thing he cared about was that his beloved son was unharmed. Once things had calmed down and everyone headed back to their offices and labs to continue working Sheldon took his two children back into his office to continue working while maintainence was fixing the broken skylight and the security shut off the alarms. Shortly after Sheldon got off work and was being dropped off at home with the twins by Leonard, Michaela shrieked, “ Oh thank god you’re alright Damien! I was about ready to have a panic attack!” as she threw her arms around her son the moment him, his twin sister and their father walked into the house after Sheldon had called her to tell her about the skylight incident at Caltech that day.
“ Ah Mom you’re crushing me! I can’t breathe!”, Damien choked out as his mother was seemingly squeezing the life out of him.
“ Sorry baby, I was just so worried that you got hurt or something from doing that.”, Michaela said in concern as she let go of him.
“ I know Mom but I’m fine. I learned my lesson, I won’t do things like that anymore.”, Damien said.
“ Please don’t, you nearly scared the bejesus out of your father and I.”, Michaela said with a sigh of relief.
“ Yeah and you scared me too.”, Meygan said.
“ I know and I’m sorry.”, Damien said as he embraced his sister. The Coopers then all had dinner later that evening before they went to bed a while after that. Then the next day at school as they were walking in the school courtyard Meygan began telling Melissa and Shayn about what happened to Damien the other day when they were at Caltech with their father.
“ Shut the fridge, are you kidding me?!”, Melissa exclaimed in shock.
“ No I’m not I’m serious. Damien literally almost fell to his death from the rooftop skylight. Campus security had to rescue him.”, Meygan said as she shook her head.
“ That’s insane! Dude are you alright?!”, Shayn gasped as she stared at Damien.
“ Yeah I’m fine Shayn. I just wasn’t paying that much attention to what I was doing.”, Damien said.
“ Yeah I’ll say! What were you doing on the university roof in the first place?!”, Melissa asked.
“ I have no idea Melissa. Like I said I really wasn’t paying that much attention to where I was walking. I was so tuned out listening to Shoot to Thrill by AC/DC on my iPod after I got bored with playing with my Nintendo Switch in my dad’s office.”, Damien said.
“ Smooth moves on that.”, Melissa sarcastically said.
“ Shut it!”, Damien hissed.
“ Ok you guys can talk amongst yourselves for a little bit while I go get started on a science project with Leo since we got paired up together.”, Meygan said as she spotted Leo Fennel sitting by himself on a low brick wall looking at his phone.
“ Ook… you want us to leave you guys alone or what sis?”, Damien asked as he stared at his twin sister.
“ If you guys want bro you can sit somewhere nearby and be vigilant of what’s going on around us just in case if something happens.”, Meygan said.
“ Ok you got it Meygan. Come you guys let’s go sit over there.”, Damien said as he pointed to a table at the far end of the courtyard and headed that way with the two other girls following him. Meygan then walked over to where Leo was sitting on the wall and said, “ Hi Leo.”
“ Oh, h-hi Meygan. Ready to do that project now?”, Leo stuttered as he looked up to see his secret crush standing in front of him and put his phone away.
“ Sure. Let’s go sit over here under this tree in the grass.”, Meygan said as she pointed at a beautiful Maple tree that was nearby.
“ Ok, cool. Sounds good to me.”, Leo said as he followed her over to the tree and sat down underneath it facing her. The two of them then started getting out their textbooks to begin working on their science project together. While they were getting started and talking to each other Damien was watching them from a distance and as he was doing so something didn’t sit right with him.
“ Oh god something’s not sitting right with me.”, Damien said in concern as he started biting his lip.
“ What’s not sitting right with you Damien? The fact that your sister’s doing a science project with Hannah’s boyfriend?”, Melissa asked in confusion.
“ Yeah that’s it Melissa. What if Hannah walks by and sees this? You know what she’s going to think.”, Damien said in concern.
“ Damien you’re just overreacting and being a little paranoid. Nothing’s going to happen, they’re just doing a science project together.”, Shayn said as she tucked her hair behind her ear but the moment she said that before Damien could say anything else Hannah suddenly entered the courtyard with her friends looking for Leo and when she spotted him with Meygan talking to her she went ballistic.
“ Are you freaking kidding me?! Leo Mason Fennel what the hell are you doing with baby freak Cooper?! Are you cheating on me with her?!”, Hannah shrieked in anger.
“ No we’re doing a science project together because the teacher paired us up together for it Hannah! Cool your jets!”, Leo shot back.
“ Yeah yeah yeah like I would ever believe that! You must think I’m really stupid! I can’t believe you’re cheating on me with a loser like her! You know what if you want to be a loser too then fine, I’ll tell everyone about it and you’ll be so humiliated that it won’t be funny!”, Hannah shouted.
“ Look you’re taking this situation the wrong way! That is so not what you think!”, Leo shouted.
“ Yeah would you just shut up Wixom and leave us alone! We’re doing a project and you’re ruining it!”, Meygan shouted.
“ Shut your piehole you little homewrecker! I’m going to kill you for stealing my boyfriend!”, Hannah shouted as she lashed out at Meygan which caused a crowd to gather making Damien hiss under his breath, “ Oh sh*t! I knew this was going to happen!” as he ran over across the courtyard with Melissa and Shayn following him and as the scene continued it suddenly came to an abrupt end when Hannah kicked Meygan in the stomach/pelvis area with such force that it made her fall to the ground, screaming and crying in pain like a girl in a horror film. This really made Damien angry to the point where he felt like wanting to strangle Hannah but Officer Killaby suddenly showed up along with Principal Sumner and the school nurse.
“ What is going on out here?! What’s the problem?!”, Officer Killaby shouted when he pulled the two girls apart.
“ Hannah kicked Meygan in the stomach that’s what happened Officer Killaby! She thinks I’m cheating on her which is so not true because we’re not even in a real relationship! This fake relationship is over Hannah! I can’t take this anymore!”, Leo shouted.
“ What are you talking about?! You are so not leaving me!”, Hannah shouted.
“ Yes I am because I don’t even like you! And you want to know why?! Because you’re the ugliest and meanest person that I’ve ever met in my entire life! I’d rather be with someone that I actually really like!”, Leo shouted.
“ Ah ha you admit it! You actually do really like her do you?! You know what I’m done, screw you! Be a loser if you want!”, Hannah shouted as she being arrested by the school officer again.
“ Fine if that’s the way you think!”, Leo shouted as he then kissed Meygan right in front of everyone, not really caring about the looks and snickers he was getting from everyone watching this. Meygan just stared at Leo in complete shock as tears kept streaming from her face from the pain she was still experiencing in her stomach caused by Hannah’s foot kicking her. This was the very first time that she had ever been kissed by a boy in such a romantic way. Then as Meygan was being carried to the nurse’s office by the school nurse and Leo started following while everyone else cleared out and Damien, Melissa and Shayn started following as well Damien asked in shock, “ Did you guys see that?! Did that actually just happen or am I going crazy?!”
“ Yeah that actually did happen Damien! Leo kissed your sister Meygan, in front of everyone!”, Melissa exclaimed in shock as Shayn nodded her head in agreement.
“ Wha… hold up!”, Damien exclaimed in shock as he then ran up behind Leo, pulled him aside and asked in complete shock, “ Dude, what was up with that?! You actually really like my twin sister?!”
“ Yes Damien, I’ve actually had a secret crush on her for a while but I was just too afraid to admit my feelings right away because I didn’t know how she would react and how everyone else would too.”, Leo said with a sigh.
“ Well that’s ridiculous Leo! If you have true deep feelings about someone then you shouldn’t keep things in like that!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ That’s the same thing my mom said and she’s right. You’re right too. So yes like I said, I admit it. I like your sister, a lot.”, Leo said with a smile as he continued following the nurse who was carrying Meygan to her office.
“ You like her even though she has a medical condition?”, Damien asked in shock again.
“ Yeah I do. It actually doesn’t really bother me that much. I think she’s really pretty.”, Leo said.
“ Thanks man.”, Damien said with a smile.
“ Dude did he just say that your sister’s pretty?!”, Shayn gasped in shock.
“ Yes he did Shayn! Oh I so can’t wait to tell my mom and dad about this!”, Damien exclaimed.
“ Ow, my stomach hurts so bad! Hannah’s such a little witch for kicking me like that!”, Meygan cried in pain as the school nurse set her down on the patient table.
“ I know you’re in pain sweetie but just try to lie back for a moment so I can take a look at your stomach, ok.”, the nurse said as she helped Meygan lay down on her back, lifting up her windbreaker and shirt slightly to see a big dark bruise right smack in the center of Meygan’s stomach. As she was applying slight gentle pressure Meygan screamed and cried so much that the nurse decided to call Michaela and Sheldon as well as EMS. Within seconds Michaela and Sheldon quickly showed up to the high school shortly before EMS arrived to take Meygan to the Children’s Hospital of California after she had been signed out of school for the rest of the day along with her twin brother and even Mr. Landry signed Melissa out as well as the Witchersons and the Fennels signing both Shayn and Leo out too when they also showed up after they heard about what happened to Meygan. Soon after they all arrived at the hospital the rest of the family as well as the rest of the gang showed up too after Michaela told everybody about what was going on.
“ But I don’t want to be in the hospital! I want to go home!”, Meygan cried as she was laying in a hospital bed hooked up to an IV, a heart monitor and a pulse reader wearing patient scrubs over her diaper. She had patient socks on her feet and a hospital bracelet on her wrist right above her wristwatch with her name on it and medic alert bracelet was still on her other wrist. Damien was standing on one side of the bed holding one of her hands in his, gently stroking the top of her hand with his thumb while their parents were on the other side of the bed. Everyone else had to wait out in the waiting room due to the fact that only 3 people were allowed to be in the room at a time along with the nurses and doctors.
“ We know sweetheart but they want you stay a few days for observation to make sure you don’t have any internal injuries.”, Michaela said in a soothing voice as she was running her fingers through Meygan’s hair.
“ But this is going to be miserable though! I hate what Hannah did to me! She kicked me in the stomach for no reason so hard all because she thought I stole Leo from her which is not true! He never even really liked her at all and it wasn’t even a real relationship!”, Meygan cried.
“ Yeah well Meygan you’re not going to be dealing with her anymore, I’m done. I’m going to tell the principal to expell her because I’m so sick of this sh*t.”, Sheldon hissed under his breath.
“ Please just take me home! I don’t want to be here for the next few days!”, Meygan cried.
“ Shhh calm down it’s ok. Look the nurse will be back soon and she’s bringing you something special to help make you feel more comfortable, ok.”, Sheldon said.
“ Ok.”, Meygan cried.
“ I’m back, look what I brought you.”, the nurse said with a smile as she held up a beautiful super soft brightly colored rainbow fish Snuggie Tails fleece blanket before she carefully slipped it on her and gave her a soft kitten plush toy as well.
“ Thank you.”, Meygan said as she instantly stopped crying and curled herself up inside the blanket, clinging onto the kitten plush toy with a smile starting to spread across her face. As she then fell asleep Michaela said with a smile, “ Aww that is too precious!”
“ Yes it most certainly is.”, Sheldon said with a smile.
“ Yeah I’ll say, she looks like she loves that.”, Damien said.
“ Thank you for calming her down with the blanket and plushie.”, Sheldon said.
“ No problem. I’ll just let her take a nap now and come back in a little while to change her diaper if she needs it.”, the nurse said.
“ Ok, thank you.”, Michaela said as she watched the nurse walk out of the room.
“ You going to be ok with her by yourself for a bit honey?”, Sheldon asked his wife.
“ Yes I’ll be fine, I’ll stay with her so that she’s not completely alone. You and Damien just go sit out in the waiting room for a while.”, Michaela said as she nodded her head.
“ Alright, come on Damien let’s go.”, Sheldon said as he got up and headed out of the room after he kissed his wife.
“ Ok Dad, coming. Have a good nap Meygan, love you.”, Damien whispered as he kissed his sister’s head before he walked out of the room after their father. However shortly after they walked out Leonard and Midge came in to see Meygan.
“ You guys can come in if you want, she’s just sleeping right now.”, Michaela said.
“ Yeah we can see that and aww look at the rainbow fish blanket she’s got.”, Midge said with a smile when she noticed Meygan’s new blanket.
“ That is so adorable. Where did she get that from?”, Leonard asked with a smile.
“ The nurse just gave it to her and she also gave her a kitten plushie with it.”, Michaela said.
“ Aww, cute. Is that one of those Snuggie Tails blankets from the As Seen On Tv commercials.”, Leonard asked.
“ Yes it is Leonard.”, Michaela said.
“ Well that’s got to be really soft and warm then. Meygan looks like she loves it.”, Midge said.
“ Yes it looks like she does. They’re pretty popular children’s blankets because of the fact that they’re so cute, soft and warm. A lot of children love them.”, Michaela said.
“ Does she get to keep that blanket and take it home whenever she gets discharged?”, Leonard asked.
“ Yes she does and she gets to keep the kitten plushie too. This children’s hospital gives their child patients complimentary items such as toys and blankets to make them feel more comfortable. Meygan was a bit upset about having to be admitted here for the next few days so the nurse decided to bring her that blanket and plushie to calm her down and make her feel more comfortable which really actually worked. The moment she slipped that blanket on her and gave her that kitten plush she instantly stopped crying and just fell asleep.”, Michaela said.
Waiting room…
“ So how’s Meygan doing?”, Penny asked.
“ She’s doing ok, she’s sleeping now. The nurse gave her a new soft blanket to cuddle in as well as a kitten plush toy.”, Sheldon said.
“ She got a new blanket? What’s it look like?”, Penny asked.
“ It looks like a rainbow fish. It’s one of those As Seen On Tv Snuggie Tails blankets.”, Damien said.
“ Aww how cute! Those things are supposed to be very soft and warm.”, Bernadette said with a smile.
“ Indeed.”, Sheldon said as he nodded his head.
“ Um if I could just ask something here.”, Leo said in a nervous tone.
“ Yes, what is it Leo?”, Sheldon asked.
“ Would you be ok with me asking Meygan out? I know I asked you this before at the school when we first talked but I didn’t really get an answer yet.”, Leo asked.
“ Well, yes I suppose you may do so but if you hurt my daughter in any way I will really not be happy and it will force me to do something that I would really hate to do which is pound the living hell out of you. Am I clear?”, Sheldon said as he narrowed his eyes at Leo who just sat in between his parents and his sisters just fidgeting with his hands.
“ Yes I get it Dr. Cooper.”, Leo said as he nodded his head. Then he stood up, walked over to the nurse’s station desk and asked, “ Excuse me, I know the rule is only 3 people are allowed in that room at a time but would it be ok if I could just go in for just a moment so I could see Meygan? I won’t stay in there if that’s what you’re worried about. I just want to see her for a moment.”
“ Well she’s sleeping right now but I suppose you can go in for just a few. Don’t stay in there long though.”, the nurse assigned to Meygan’s care said.
“ Thanks.”, Leo said as he headed to the room and walked in.
“ Oh… hi Leo.”, Michaela, Midge and Leonard said when they noticed him walk in.
“ Hi. I won’t be in here long, I just wanted to come in and see Meygan for a moment.”, Leo said.
“ That’s fine. She’s just taking a nap right now though.”, Michaela said.
“ Yeah the nurse told me that.”, Leo said as he quietly walked up to the bed. He gently kissed her while she slept but then she suddenly woke up and started crying as she was twitching her foot around inside her blanket.
“ Oh god did I do something wrong?”, Leo asked in concern as he backed off a bit.
“ No it’s nothing you did, Meygan’s diaper is just wet.”, Midge said as she shook her head.
“ I’ll call the nurse.”, Leonard said as he was about to reach for the call button but Leo got to it first and said, “ It’s ok, I got it.” before he pressed it.
“ Hello?”, the nurse answered through the little speaker on the device.
“ Um I think Meygan might need to be changed because she just woke up crying and she’s moving around in the bed.”, Leo said.
“ Ok thank you for letting me know, I’ll be right there.”, the nurse said before she hung up. She then walked into the room moments later with the necessary supplies and set them down on the side table before she pulled the privacy curtain shut around the bed so that she could change Meygan’s diaper. Once she was done she opened the curtain back up and said, “ There you go sweetie, is that better?”
“ Yes, thank you.”, Meygan said as she stopped crying.
“ Of course, just let me know if you need anything else and I’ll come back.”, the nurse said as she cleaned up the mess.
“ Ok.”, Meygan said. When the nurse walked out Meygan then noticed that Leo was in the room too.
“ Oh… hi Leo, I didn’t realize you were in here.”, Meygan said.
“ Yeah, I just wanted to see you for a bit. Are you feeling ok?”, Leo asked.
“ Yeah, I still feel some pain from Hannah kicking me though but other than that I’m fine.”, Meygan said.
“ Yeah about that I’m really sorry about all of this.”, Leo said with a sigh.
“ You don’t need to apologize, it’s fine.”, Meygan said.
“ No it’s really not. People really shouldn’t be treating you like that. I shouldn’t have been treating you like that. You’re a very sweet beautiful girl regardless of your medical condition and I should have told you from the very beginning that I really actually like you, a lot.”, Leo said as he shook his head.
“ You… like me?! Is this a joke or are you actually being serious?!”, Meygan asked in shock.
“ Yes I’m being very serious, I like you.”, Leo said with a smile.
“ I like you too.”, Meygan said with a smile as the two of them kissed each other again. Leo then asked Meygan if she would be his girlfriend and she said yes. The two them then gave each other their phone numbers and shortly after Leo left the room to go back to the waiting room Meygan then decided to go on Facebook to see a brand new relationship status on Leo’s profile. It said: Leo Fennel is in a relationship with Meygan Cooper. She instantly started crying happy tears when she saw that. She couldn’t believe that she now had a boyfriend. Everyone then took turns coming in the room to see her and were very happy for her when they found out about her new relationship which was her first one ever. Meygan was then discharged from the hospital after about 3 days and returned to school expecting to be harassed again by Hannah and her friends only to find out that Hannah had been expelled along with her friends after they refused to be separated from their friend due to Sheldon complaining to the principal about Hannah’s behavior so instead she started getting harassed by Kevin Clements and his friends who quickly took over as the new school bullies much to Meygan, Melissa and Shayn’s dismay and to the anger of Damien who immediately started screaming at all of his former friends that if they didn’t quit bothering his twin sister he was going to ride up all of their asses and get them kicked out of school too. But despite his threats they kept doing whatever they wanted and they even started messing with Leo too just because he was dating Meygan.
“ Hey would you just leave us alone man?! I don’t care what you guys think! Meygan is a very beautiful girl and her medical condition shouldn’t matter to anyone! Quit being ignorant and saying things that are very hurtful or I’m going to report you to the principal!”, Leo shouted.
“ Yeah yeah sure sure, baby freak Leo Mason Fennel!”, Kevin laughed as he started slapping his thigh.
“ Baby freaks! Aha ha ha ha ha ha ha!”, Joshua, Austin, Brett, Samantha, Danielle and Monica laughed pointing at Meygan, Leo, Melissa, Shayn, and Damien.
“ Alright that’s it smart a**! Come on Meygan, we’re going to the principal’s office! Damien, Melissa, Shayn, you guys come too!”, Leo hissed in anger as he took Meygan’s hand and led her away down the hallway with the other three following them while Kevin and his friends kept laughing it up.
“ Excuse me Mrs. Gellard, I need to speak to Principal Sumner right now!”, Leo hissed.
“ Alright one moment.”, Mrs. Gellard the school secretary said as she got up from her desk and headed to Principal Sumner’s office.
“ Excuse me Principal Sumner, I’m sorry to bother you but Leo Fennel wants to talk to you.”, Mrs. Gellard said when she knocked on the door and walked in.
“ Ok hold on one second. Excuse me one moment, I need to go talk to a student.”, Principal Sumner said with a sigh as he then told a school board member that he was having a meeting with that he’d be right back. Mrs. Gellard went back to desk to answer some calls coming in while Principal Sumner came out of his office and asked, “ Alright what’s going on now Leo?”
“ It’s Kevin Clements, he’s harassing us with his friends now too!”, Leo hissed.
“ Oh great more harassment?! I just got through with expelling Hannah and her friends for doing the same thing and now we already have some new bullies taking their place?!”, Principal Sumner hissed as he rolled his eyes.
“ Yes! It’s relentless! Nobody will leave me alone!”, Meygan hissed.
“ How many more students do we have now that are bullies?!”, Principal Sumner asked in anger.
“ It’s 7 now! They used to be friends with Damien but now they’re acting like a bunch of jerks because Kevin started it! He first made fun of Meygan when him and Damien were hanging out together at the Coopers residence one weekend while Meygan and their mother were running errands and their father was at work and so Damien got mad and kicked him out but apparently that made Kevin mad so then he went around school telling all of their friends to not hang out with Damien anymore just because he has a baby freak for a twin sister and so that’s how this whole thing started!”, Melissa hissed.
“ So now they want to start some trouble too?! Is that what I’m hearing?!”, Principal Sumner hissed.
“ Yeah apparently since Hannah and her friends are now out of the school they want to jump on the bandwagon too! It’s ridiculous!”, Shayn hissed as she tossed her hair back over her shoulder.
“ Alright I’ll handle this, one moment please.”, Principal Sumner said with a sigh as he then talked into the microphone in a loud booming voice, “Kevin Bullard Clements, please report to my office with your friends now!”
“ Yeah what is it chump?!”, Kevin laughed as he walked into the office with his friends who were still laughing their butts off.
“ Excuse me but do not talk to me like that and SIT YOUR BUTT DOWN NOW! All of you!”, Principal Sumner shouted.
“ What the hell is this about?!”, Samantha snickered.
“ This is about all of your behavior now! You think this is funny?! Making fun of your former friend’s twin sister and acting like a bunch of bigshots?!”, Principal Sumner shouted.
“ Yeah it’s hilarious!”, Brett laughed as he started smacking hands with his friends.
“ Good one Brett!”, Kevin laughed.
“ SHUT UP! I just expelled 4 girls for this kind of behavior and I suggest that you cut it out right now before you make me expell all of you too! I will not tolerate bullying in my school, period! This is a learning environment, not a free for all conjunction where you can do whatever you want! Now get back to class and if I find out that you’re messing with these 5 students again you will all be immediately kicked out of the school district! Am I clear?!”, Principal Sumner shouted as he pointed at the Cooper twins and their friends.
“ Yes.”, Kevin, Samantha, Austin, Joshua, Brett, Danielle and Monica said with a reluctant sigh.
“ Good! Now get back to class, all of you! Not another disrespectful comment from either of you towards them or it’s sayonara!”, Principal Sumner shouted. They all headed back to class as well as Meygan, Damien, Melissa, Shayn and Leo but Kevin had no desire to follow the rules what so ever and so by the end of the school day he was kicked out too along with his friends which of course made some of their parents really mad to the point of groundings were made while some of them didn’t really care and just let their children do what they wanted. Principal Sumner then sent out letters to every students’ families warning them that if he catches anymore bullying going on in and outside of the school then they will be immediately punished either with detention, suspension or expulsion depending on how offensive their behavior is.
“ Are you flipping kidding me?! Kevin and all of your former friends got kicked out too Damien?!”, Sheldon hissed as he walked into the house with his wife and their two children after Damien explained what happened that day at school. They were arriving home from picking up a few things which also included some more adult diapers for Meygan because of the fact that they were running low on them in the house.
“ Yes Kevin wouldn’t let up on the harassment after Principal Sumner told him and the others to cut it out so not only did Hannah Wixom and her friends get expelled but Kevin Clements and his stupid friends did too! Principal Sumner’s now making it a point that if he catches anymore bullying then whoever’s doing it is going to be immediately punished!”, Damien hissed.
“ Well we’re all sick of the bullying period and you know what we’ll discuss this later. Right now your sister needs to be changed because she just went to bathroom a few minutes ago in the car. Come on sweetheart, let’s go to your room for a second.”, Michaela said as she took Meygan to her room.
“ Ok. I’m just going to go to my room now and play some video games.”, Damien said as he headed to his room and shut the door.
“ Make of that what you will for a moment, I’m just going to take Oakley for a walk.”, Sheldon said as he grabbed the dog’s leash and attached it to her collar before he walked out of the house, shutting the door behind him.
“ Ok! See ya Dad!”
“ Where did this adult changing table come from Mom? It wasn’t in here before.”, Meygan asked when she was laid down on the brand new table that was in the room sitting against one of the walls after her mother had closed the bedroom door.
“ I ordered this on Amazon a few days ago and it just got here today when you were in school. I bought it because I think it will make it easier for your father and I to change you without having to bend over all the time.”, Michaela said.
“ Oh well that’s smart.”, Meygan said as her mother removed her bottoms and her diaper.
“ Yes it is.”, Michaela said as she finished the task at hand and sat her daughter back up after she put her bottoms back on. She then said with a sad sigh, “ Oh Meygan I really hope you don’t hate your father and I for making you live like this.”
“ I don’t. I know you and Dad are just trying to take care of me.”, Meygan said.
“ And we do it because we love you so much. You are and always will be our very sweet, beautiful and precious little girl.”, Michaela said as she lovingly embraced Meygan and kissed her head.
“ I love you too.”, Meygan said.
“ You, Damien and your father are the light in my life. If I didn’t have you, I probably would have been dead.”, Michaela said.
“ What do you mean that you probably would have been dead Mom?”, Damien asked when he suddenly walked into his twin sister’s room.
“ Well I don’t think your father and I told you two about this, but, several years ago I was in a relationship with a man who treated me very badly. He was physically and verbally abusive to me and not to mention he treated Max and Oakley like crap too. He also tried to murder me when he asked his friends to rob my workplace and set it on fire.”, Michaela said.
“ This guy tried to kill you in a grocery store fire?!”, Damien and Meygan gasped as they stared at their mother.
“ Yes he did and it was very scary but lucky for me your father saved my life.”, Michaela said.
“ What was this guy’s name?”, Meygan asked.
“ His name was Bruce Wiley Gustovson.”, Michaela said.
“ He’s not going to hurt us is he?”, Damien asked in concern.
“ No you two don’t have to worry about him at all, he’s not even alive anymore. He was executed by lethal injection a long time ago.”, Michaela said.
“ Ok, good to know.”, Damien said as he embraced his mother and sister but as they were embracing each other Michaela’s phone suddenly started ringing. When she looked at it she saw that it was her husband Sheldon calling her.
“ Hi honey, is everything ok?”, Michaela asked.
“ No everything is not ok Michaela! Can you please come pick me up outside of Lucky Baldwins?!”, Sheldon hissed.
“ Why? What’s going on?”, Michaela asked in concern.
“ You will not believe who’s bothering Oakley and I right now!”, Sheldon hissed.
“ Let me guess, crazy bitch Dr. Ramona Nowitzki?!”, Michaela huffed in frustration as she shook her head.
“ Yes that’s most certainly who’s bothering us at the moment! She saw me walking Oakley and decided to pull up onto the curb with her car to talk to me after she got out of her car and now she won’t leave me alone after I repeatedly told her to go away! Not to mention it’s beginning to upset Oakley because she’s currently tugging on the leash as we speak and will not let up!”, Sheldon hissed.
“ Alright I’m on my way. Do you want me to bring the kids too?”, Michaela asked.
“ Yes but please make sure that they stay in the car! I don’t want them getting involved in this nonsense!”, Sheldon hissed.
“ Alright I’ll try to keep them in the car but I’m not too sure that will happen. See you in a few minutes Sheldon, bye.”, Michaela said before she hung up.
“ Mom what’s going on with Dad?”, Meygan asked in concern.
“ Your father’s standing outside of Lucky Baldwins with Oakley and he’s being bothered by a lunatic female colleague of his named Dr. Ramona Nowitzki.”, Michaela said as she grabbed her car keys and everything else she would need.
“ Are we going to pick up Dad and Oakley right now?”, Damien asked.
“ Yes Damien, now get in the car with your twin sister.”, Michaela said as she ushered the twins outside to the family car. They then drove down the street and when they pulled up in front of Lucky Baldwins they saw Sheldon arguing with Ramona while Oakley was repeatedly tugging on the leash making a bunch of growling and barking sounds.
“ Ok you two stay in the car, I’ll be right back.”, Michaela said as she got out and slammed the door shut. She then shouted as she walked up onto the curb and sidewalk, “ Are you f*cking kidding me?!”
“ Oh great what do you want bi*ch?!”, Ramona shouted.
“ I want you to leave my husband and our dog alone Nowitzki! Seriously, we’re sick of this! This is the third time you’ve harassed us and we don’t appreciate it!”, Michaela shouted.
“ Shut up Michaela Janet Mansfield, you shouldn’t even be in the picture to begin with! Dr. Cooper is a respected theoretical physicist and can not have useless distractions!”, Ramona shouted.
“ Excuse me but it’s Michaela Janet Cooper and that comment is so ignorant! Please take your rude comments somewhere else and leave my family alone!”, Michaela shouted.
“ Mom, Dad, just get back in the car and let’s go!”, Meygan and Damien shouted out the car window at their parents.
“ Meygan, Damien, butt out please and roll the car window up! This is not something that your mother and I want you to be involved in at the moment!”, Sheldon scolded his two children as he kept holding onto Oakley’s leash.
“ Wait, what?! I don’t believe this! You two have kids now?!”, Ramona shouted.
“ Yes we do and you’re currently ruining our happy family life at the moment! So BEAT IT NOWITZKI! You are stressing us out including our dog Oakley and that’s NOT APPRECIATED! So back yourself up out of the train depot and get out of here!”, Michaela shouted as she pointed her finger down the street.
“ You’re not going to tell me what to do bitch! I’m gonna rip your freakin’ face off for marrying Dr. Cooper and having two children with him in the first place! Now come here you worthless slut!”, Ramona shouted but just as she made a move towards Michaela with her fist raised in the air ready to hit her Oakley suddenly jumped up and bit her on the hand enough to draw blood which made Ramona pull away screaming in pain, “ Ow! Why that mangy mutt just bit me on my hand! I’m bleeding!”
“ Well you were asking for it idiot! You were threatening to hurt me so of course she was going to bite you!”, Michaela shouted.
“ You are so going to pay for this Michaela! I will see to it that BEAST gets taken away and destroyed for what she just did to me!”, Ramona shouted as she pointed at Oakley who was now barking and growling at her.
“ Oh HELL no! You touch her Ramona and you’re dead! Oakley is not a beast, she’s a very sweet and loving dog who we all love very much and you are not ripping her away from us just because she bit you! That is absolutely absurd and you really need to go away now before things get really ugly! I’m not playing around anymore! Leave us alone!”, Michaela shouted.
“ Fine I’ll leave but this isn’t over! I’m so calling Animal Control to seize that dog, no if ands or buts about it!”, Ramona shouted as she then got back into her car and sped off down the street.
“ Mom I’m scared now! I don’t want Oakley to go away!”, Meygan sadly said as she started to cry once they all got back to the house.
“ Yeah me neither! She’s our dog and we love her!”, Damien sadly said as he started to cry too while nuzzling his face against Oakley’s. She started to give him kisses with her tongue in between pants. Meygan started doing the same thing as she kept crying as well.
“ Meygan, Damien, calm down alright. Everything’s going to be fine.”, Sheldon said as he was embracing them.
“ No it’s not! That woman wants to destroy our dog!”, Damien and Meygan cried.
“ That woman is not going to do shit ok! Oakley is not leaving this house point blank period!”, Michaela hissed as she rolled her eyes.
“ What the hell is going on in here now you guys?! Why are Meygan and Damien upset?! What happened?!”, Leonard interjected in concern when he suddenly walked into the house after he happened to be driving by and overheard what was being said inside the house.
“ Dr. Ramona Nowitzki happened Leonard! She decided to harass Sheldon as he was out walking Oakley a few minutes ago in front of Lucky Baldwins and now she’s threatning to call Animal Control all because of the fact that Oakley just bit her!”, Michaela hissed as she walked up to her friend.
“ Are you freaking kidding me right now?! Oakley bit someone?!”, Leonard shrieked in complete shock. He couldn’t believe what he just heard about the sweet Cooper family dog.
“ Oh yes she did my good man! She bit Ramona right on the hand enough to draw blood!”, Sheldon hissed as he sat next to his children on the couch and looked at Leonard.
“ Oh god this is not good.”, Leonard said in concern as he threw his head back.
“ Yeah you think?! Oakley would never hurt someone unless if they were hurting us! Even you know that Leonard! You’ve been around her to see that haven’t you?!”, Michaela shrieked as she pointed at Leonard.
“ Yes I do and yes I have Michaela! She’s the sweetest dog I’ve ever met in my life! For god sakes this is…!”, Leonard hissed only to be interrupted when a knock was suddenly heard on the door making them all gasp in concern about who it could possibly be on the other side of the door.

“ Good Lord who could that be now?!”, Sheldon asked in concern as he stared at the door with wide eyes when he stood up from the couch.
“ Hang on buddy, let me see for a moment.”, Leonard said before he looked through the peephole when he turned around towards the door to see two large males standing there in uniform with one of them carrying a long pole with a rope attached to the end of it causing Leonard to hiss under his breath, “ Son of a bitch, it’s Animal Control!”
“ Are you flipping kidding me?! That devil woman called them already?!”, Michaela shrieked in anger.
“ Yes apparently so because they’re standing right outside this door with one of those animal restraint poles!”, Leonard hissed as he pointed at the door.
Knock knock!
“ Hello, anyone home?! Animal Control!”
“ What?! Mom, Dad, Uncle Leonard, do something! They’re gonna take Oakley away and destroy her!”, Meygan and Damien cried as they held onto Oakley and looked in the direction of the front door where their parents and their godfather were standing.
“ Damien and Meygan no they’re not! Just take her into your father and I’s bedroom for a moment and shut the door! We will handle this!”, Michaela scolded the twins as she pointed down the hallway of their home.
“ Are you sure?!”, Damien cried.
“ Yes! Now go! Get, both of you!”, Sheldon scolded as he did the same thing.
“ Ok! Come on Oakley!”, Meygan and Damien cried as they quickly got up from the couch and sprinted out of the living room down the hallway with Oakley to get to their parents’ room and slammed the door shortly after Max trotted in there too behind their heels meowing. Leonard then opened the door and backed up a little allowing the two men into the house.
“ Alright where’s the dog?”, the guy carrying the restraint pole asked in a concerned tone while standing next to his partner.
“ Ok sir I don’t know what this other lady told you but you are making a big mistake. Oakley is completely harmless and the only reason why she bit this other lady in the first place is because she tried to attack me. She was harassing my husband while he was out walking our dog a few minutes ago and so I was trying to get her to leave after he called me to come get him with our kids in the car but then she went bonkers and tried to come at me so our dog then got defensive and bit her.”, Michaela said in concern as she pointed at herself and Sheldon before she pointed behind her down the hallway where their kids were hiding at with the family dog and the family cat.
“ Ok but we still need to monitor her now just to be sure nothing serious is going on here that could potentially cause further injury or death to people. Now where is she?”, the other guy asked in concern.
“ Well good Lord this is madness! She bites someone once and that’s enough to take her away to her potential doom?! This is completely absurd and you know what I…!”, Sheldon shouted only for Leonard to put his hands up and say, “ Ok Sheldon I got this. You don’t need to shout.”
“ Well what am I supposed to do Leonard Hofstadter?! These ba**ards are trying to take my dog simply all because she bit Dr. Nowitzki for trying to attack my wife!”, Sheldon shouted as he pointed at himself before he jerked his finger at the animal control guys that were standing in front of them.
“ Yes I know that and I got this! Just let me talk to these guys for a moment, shut up!”, Leonard hissed in Sheldon’s face before he turned to the other two men and said, “ Look pal this really isn’t necessary. Can’t we just mediate the situation without having to resort to taking a dog that really isn’t a threat to anyone?”
“ Sir we are trying to mediate but you’re not helping and excuse me but who are you and what is your relation to these people?”, the other guy asked.
“ Oh for God sakes you’re gonna kill me! Dr. Leonard Hofstadter, I’m their best friend but that’s not the point at the moment! The point is, I know that dog and she is not vicious whatsoever! She’s the sweetest thing I’ve ever met and she would never hurt anyone unless if they were hurting her owners which is exactly what Dr. Nowitzki did! She tried to attack my friend so of course Oakley was going to defend her! What is wrong with you?! You’re acting like she did this more than once and that she’s a threat to public safety when in reality that is so not true! So you know what I have a solution to this, let me take her to my apartment for a few days and I’ll keep an eye on her!”, Leonard shouted at them as he rolled his eyes.
“ Dr. Hofstadter she needs to evaluated by a medical professional team to determine whether or not she’s safe enough to come back to this house. It’s the law.”, the guy with the pole said in concern.
“ My god I don’t believe that I have to repeat myself here! NO ONE IS DOING ANYTHING TO THIS DOG, PERIOD! I know exactly what’s going to happen if we just let you guys take her! Someone at that facility is not going to know what the hell it is they’re even doing in the first place leading to something getting completely screwed up and then that’s it! She’ll be euthanized and destroyed which is something we don’t ever want to happen! There are kids here who are my godchildren that are absolutely terrified at the thought of possibly losing their dog due to one biting incident that never should have happened in the first place but did happen because of some jealous science grad student bi*ch who tried to attack my friend! So here’s the deal, you either let me take her to my apartment for a few days or she’s not going anywhere! End of discussion!”, Leonard shouted.
“ Dr. Hofstadter this is a serious matter and if you don’t let us do our job like the law clearly states then we will be forced to call the police to get an animal seizure warrant and you will be arrested for disorderly conduct and obstruction of public safety which is punishable by 1 to 2 years in jail! Do you really want that on your permanent record?!”, the guy with the pole hissed in a serious tone.
“ No I don’t and no one is throwing me in jail for this or for any reason whatsoever! How many times do I have to tell you idiots that she’s not going anywhere except with me to my apartment for a few days?!”, Leonard shouted.
“ And how many times do we have to tell you that she needs to be monitored by a professional medical team as the law states before she can even be cleared to come back to this house?!”, the other guy shot back.
“ You can keep saying that all you want but I’m not backing down from this! This is total stupid injustice and I’m not going to tolerate it and neither will my best friends and their children, EVER! So I suggest you haul your asses out of here before I sue them for this crap!”, Leonard shouted as he crossed his arms.
“ Fine, we’ll just call the police and have you arrested for refusing to cooperate with the law Dr. Hofstadter! Good luck with sitting in jail for 1 to 2 years as well as hoping to God that you make it out alive!”, the guy with the restraint pole hissed as he made a move to reach for his cell phone to call the Pasadena Police Department.
“ Oh for God sakes this is ridiculous! You dare touch your phone to call anybody and I’m gonna make you wish you were dead! You really don’t want to piss me off right now because according to what my friend Howard Wolowitz said a really long time ago, I’M CRAZY! So shut the f*ck up and get out of here! Leave us the hell alone! I’m not going to say it again, GET OUT OF HERE!”, Leonard shouted in their faces with his nostrils flaring in anger.
“ Not until you people hand over the dog! We are not going to have an issue about this, it’s the law and you have to follow it whether you want to or not! We are just concerned for public safety! That’s it!”, the guy with the pole shouted.
“ Yeah right public safety concern my a**! You just want to harass us for no reason other than to be complete ignorant d*ckheads and that’s not appreciated by any means whatsoever! So you know what I don’t care what you say, I’m taking Oakley with me to my apartment for a few days and you’re not going to stop me! End of discussion!”, Leonard shouted before he turned to Sheldon and asked, “ Where’s her leash buddy?”
“ It’s right here Leonard but what are you…?!”, Sheldon asked in concern as he grabbed Oakley’s leash to give it to Leonard who immediately took it in his hands and stormed down the hallway to the bedroom where the twins were at with the pets just as the Animal Control guys began to follow behind him in an attempt to seize Oakley due to law requirement in their book.
“ Not now Sheldon! Meygan, Damien, hand me Oakley please!”, Leonard hissed as he entered the room with the leash clip in his hand.
“ Why Uncle Leonard?! You said she wasn’t leaving our house!”, Damien and Meygan cried as they released their grip on the dog.
“ She’s not, calm down! I’m just taking her with me to my apartment for a few days! I’m not letting these bastards take her! I won’t allow it!”, Leonard hissed as he gently attached the leash to Oakley’s collar and gripped the end of the leash in his hand.
“ Are you sure?!”, Meygan cried.
“ Yes I promise you and your brother! I won’t let anything happen to her! She’s safe with me!”, Leonard hissed.
Woof woof woof!
“ You’re not going anywhere with her sir! Get that leash off now!”, the guy with pole shouted as him and his partner blocked the doorway.
“ No! You idiots get the hell out of my way! This is ridiculous! Oakley is much better off being with someone she knows for a few days than being in a roomful of strangers who she doesn’t know leading to someone else possibly getting bitten and further putting her more at risk for euthanasia which again is something that we don’t want because she doesn’t deserve it, PERIOD! We are not going to put up with this ignorance crap anymore so please get the fuck out of my way now before I punch you in self-defense in front of my godchildren! For God sakes how many times do I have to tell you that?!”, Leonard shouted in their faces.
“ And how many times do we have to tell you Dr. Hofstadter that you are violating the law by not cooperating with us and letting us do our job?!”, the other man shouted.
Woof woof woof woof!
Meow!
“ I don’t give a f*ck about what you say! Neither does Michaela or Sheldon! This is injustice period and we don’t need this kind of harassment coming from our community all because Oakley bit somebody one time for trying to ATTACK HER OWNER! So you either get the hell out of my way or you’re getting your asses sued if you try to follow me to my apartment or send the police there to harass me! I’m not playing around here!”, Leonard shouted as he tried to shove past them.
“ Uh uh, none shall pass buster! Hand over Oakley now! We’re not going to say it again! You are really risking your life here over this and it’s not needed!”, the man with pole shouted as he continued standing in front of Leonard holding the pole up in front of him like an armored knight holding a sword.
“ And I told you I will do no such thing! In fact, give me that pole I’m done! Move Sheldon and Michaela! Come on Oakley, let’s go!”, Leonard shouted as he roughly ripped the restraint pole out of the dude’s hand while gripping Oakley’s leash which allowed him to pass by the two other men as well as Michaela and Sheldon heading to the front door of the house prompting them all to follow him as well as the twins and the cat.
“ Hey come back here with that Dr. Hofstadter! You can’t touch that, that’s for authorized personnel only!”, the other man shouted.
“ I don’t care! You pissed me off now so if you want your pole back, fine! Go get it off the front lawn jack a**es!”, Leonard shouted as he stormed to the front door and chucked the restraint pole out on the front lawn before he grabbed a few of Oakley’s chew toys and headed out the door to his car in the driveway, taking Oakley with him to prevent her from leaving with Animal Control.
“ Ok this is ridiculous! Hey where do you think you’re going?! Open the door now Dr. Hofstadter! We’re not gonna put up with this resistance! Do you seriously want to go to jail right now?! Because we can have the cops come and arrest you in 2 seconds flat for this!”, one of the animal control guys shouted at Leonard who had locked himself and Oakley in his car to prevent these two from seizing her after they picked up their pole that Leonard just threw on the front lawn.
“ I ain’t doing sh*t and you ain’t calling anybody here to force me to! Leave me the f*ck alone jack and get out of here! Oakley’s coming with me right now and nobody’s gonna be stopping me, period! Sayonara you idiots! I’m out of here!”, Leonard shouted through the closed door at them over Oakley’s barking and panting as if she was saying, ‘ Ha ha ha you can’t get me and touch me now you dunces! Dr. Leonard Hofstadter said so! Later you big a** turkeys!’ as Leonard quickly started his car before he began to pull out of the driveway to drive home. But as he tried to leave Animal Control tried to block his car when they got back into their vehicle but to no avail when Leonard suddenly lurched forward with his car driving up on the sidewalk and grass a bit for a few seconds to go around them before he continued driving away down the street to get to his apartment with Oakley safely in the car with him.
“ Ha! Try to get me now you idiots! Later you jerks, go shove it!”, Leonard shouted out his car window for a moment with a smirk on his face before he rolled it back up and continued driving away down the street as if he was trying to get away from law enforcement.

Woah! That was crazy! What do you think is going to happen to Leonard next for driving over the sidewalk to get around the Animal Control dudes?! Will he be left alone with Oakley or will he have the cops being called on him for wreckless driving?! Let me know in the comments. To be continued…
