Veronica opened her eyes as the door opened again. Her vision was blurry, and her head spun. She saw the two guys who kidnapped her, Tim and Mitch, enter with Cheryl and Josie, carrying trays of food.
The raven-haired teen watched them walk over to Cheryl and Josie, who set down plates of food with eggs, sausage, and toast. "What about Veronica?" Josie asked, looking at the food, then at Tim and Mitch.
"She'll eat with Nick," Tim said, as he unlocked Cheryl and Josie's hands so they could eat. Before heading over to Veronica, he continued, "But first, he wants her to get dressed." He undid her handcuff and tossed a set of clothes onto the bed.
"No way!" Cheryl scoffed, moving her free arm. "She doesn't have a choice," Tim said, helping Veronica up. Veronica stumbled, nearly falling, but Tim caught her.
"I can get changed by myself," Veronica said, her voice low and slightly slurred. Tim nodded and turned around to give her privacy.
She took off her shorts while holding onto the bed for support, then removed her shirt. "Veronica, you don't have to do this," Josie said, watching her stumble.
Veronica then put on a pair of black leather pants and a matching black tank top, followed by a jet-black leather jacket with a red rose and a heart on the back.
"Josie, I have no choice," Veronica said, zipping up the jacket halfway. "I don't want you two to get hurt." She then picked up the boots Tim had given her and allowed him to help her zip them up because she felt dizzy.
Once Veronica was ready, Tim grabbed her arm and led her out of the room. Mitch stayed behind to watch Josie and Cheryl eat their food and tie their free arm back to the chair.
- Archie, Betty, Jughead, Toni, & the others -
Archie put the truck in park once they arrived at Cheryl's house, and everyone got out. "Let's see if they're here," Archie said as he went inside, with the others following him.
"Maybe they just slept in," Sweet Pea said as he went into the house. "I don't think so. Cheryl wouldn't sleep in, especially when she has plans," Toni said, looking around.
Archie nodded. "Same with Ronnie," he said, looking around. He only saw Nana Rose in the living room. "Nana Rose," Betty called, walking over to the old woman, who looked at them.
"Someone came in last night," Nana Rose said, staring at Betty. "Who came in last night?" Betty asked. "Are Cheryl, Veronica, and Josie here?" she asked, taking Nana Rose's hand.
Archie listened as Jughead and Fangs went upstairs to check the rooms. "No, they disappeared last night and never came back," Nana Rose said, her voice raspy. "The lights went out for a few minutes, then suddenly turned back on."
"What is she talking about?" Sweet Pea asked, clearly not understanding the old woman.
"She's saying someone came here last night," Jughead said, holding Cheryl's phone.
Archie looked at Jughead. "This has to be a prank," he said, his fear growing as he realized someone might have kidnapped his girlfriend.
"Yes, I believe two of them. I heard a commotion, but I-" Nana Rose began.
"It's not your fault, Nana Rose," Toni said gently. "So you know who would take Cheryl and the others?"
Archie watched as Nana Rose shook her head.
Betty frowned, thinking, "It might be someone who wants revenge on Hiram, or something. But why kidnap Cheryl and Josie?"
"Probably to get Veronica to do what these people want," Jughead suggested.
Archie nodded, his hands clenched. "Now that we know what happened, we need to find whoever took Ronnie, Cheryl, and Josie." His eyes blazed with anger, hoping Veronica was okay. "You guys ask around."
"What are you going to do?" Betty asked, clearly worried about Archie's plan.
"I'm going to tell Hiram and Hermione what happened," Archie said, clenching his hands. "It's better than them hearing it from someone else."
Jughead nodded. "Maybe take backup." He didn't want Archie to get hurt when the Lodges found out their daughter had been kidnapped.
Archie shook his head. "No, I have to do it. But thanks."
Archie left, telling the others to look around. He went to talk to Veronica's parents, trying to stay calm. "Hang in there, Ronnie, I'll find you!" he vowed.
The redhead texted Hiram to say he was going to the Pembroke and had something important to tell him. Archie's heart raced, worried about Hiram's reaction.
He might not like Hiram, but he knew Hiram would do anything to get Veronica back. He'd also make sure whoever kidnapped his daughter wouldn't get away with it.
- Veronica & Nick -
Tim pulled Veronica into a room where Nick was waiting. "Very good, thank you, Tim," Nick said, nodding for Veronica to sit down. Tim pushed her into the seat across from Nick.
"You can go now, Tim," Nick said, gesturing to the door. "Where's my money?" Tim asked, looking at Nick. "You'll get your money in full soon," Nick promised.
Veronica watched Tim nod and leave, leaving her with Nick. "Shall we eat?" Nick asked, gesturing to the table of food. "You must be hungry," he continued as he made her a plate.
"I'm not really hungry," Veronica said as she watched him place the plate in front of her. "No? What about something to drink?" Nick asked with a smirk as he poured her some coffee and handed it to her, making sure to get it from the pot meant for her.
Veronica watched him, hiding her hands in her lap. Her mind raced, trying to figure out how to get her friends out of there. "The fun will begin soon, Ronnie," Nick said, setting down his cup.
"Don't call me that!" Veronica glared. She didn't like Nick using that nickname; only Archie was allowed to call her that. "Why not?" Nick asked with a smirk, sipping his coffee. "You loved it when I called you that before," he said.
Veronica fidgeted, picking up a fork to eat. "Because only Archie is allowed to call me that!" She smirked, knowing she'd struck a nerve. "And Archie isn't here!" Nick snapped, slamming his hand on the table.
The girl with dark hair jumped. She gripped the fork, considering using it as a weapon, especially when Nick reached for her arm. "I can call you anything I want!" he said, glaring at her.
Veronica gripped the fork in her free hand. "Do I make myself clear?" Nick demanded, looking into Veronica's eyes. "Yes, crystal clear," Veronica hissed as she raised her fork and stabbed Nick's hand hard enough to pierce it.
"Fuck!" Nick yelped in pain as the fork dug into his skin. "You bitch-" he began, but Veronica punched him in the face, hard enough to stun him.
Veronica used that moment to dump her hot coffee on his face. Once she knew Nick wouldn't chase her immediately, she ran out of the room, not realizing Tim was still nearby.
"Where do you think you're going?" Tim asked, blocking her escape, his eyes narrowing. Veronica panted as she backed away. "Let me through, and let me get my friends," she said, forcing herself to stay on her shaky legs.
Tim looked at her as she continued. "I can promise you, whatever he promised to pay you..." she paused, "is a lie. He'll never pay you, trust me," Veronica said.
"And how would you know that?" Tim seemed interested.
"I've known the St. Clairs for years," Veronica said, not backing down. "All they do is lie," she added.
Tim narrowed his eyes. "Why should I believe you?" he asked, stepping closer. Veronica took a step back. "Because you should, especially when my father, Hiram Lodge, finds out about you helping Nick, you're a dead-"
Veronica couldn't finish as Nick came up behind her. He wrapped his arms around her neck, covering her mouth and nose. "What are you talking about?" he asked, tightening his grip.
"Nothing," Tim said. "She was just talking nonsense!" He continued, "Good, now go check on the other two while I take care of her." Nick said, gripping Veronica tighter as she fought him.
Veronica struggled against Nick's grip as she watched Tim walk toward the room where Cheryl and Josie were. "Don't worry, they won't get hurt," he whispered in her ear. "But I won't say the same for you, Ronnie!"
Nick pulled Veronica through the hotel. "Don't worry, this hotel has been abandoned for years," he said, pulling her down the stairs, making her stumble. "So nobody will hear you or come to help."
Veronica whimpered as Nick dragged her into a dark room in the basement and shoved her onto a ripped mattress. "You won't get away with this, St. Clair!" she said as Nick cuffed her hands above her head.
"Oh, I will," Nick said, slapping her a few times and smirking as he watched her struggle against her restraints. "My father will kill you!" Veronica spat. "Not just him, Archie-" She was cut off by another blow to the face.
Veronica bit back a yelp as blood ran down her lips and nose. "What will Archie do?" Nick demanded, wrapping his hand around her neck. "Tell me, what will Andrews do to me that he hasn't done yet!"
Veronica struggled against his grip, gasping for air. "Answer me, slut!" Nick demanded, using his other hand to punch her in the stomach, knocking the wind out of her. "He won't... stop... til you..." she gasped as Nick's grip tightened around her throat.
Nick growled as he shoved her back onto the bed, causing Veronica's head to hit the headboard. "I'll be back, and the fun will begin. I got a call to make," he said. "I was going to do it Monday, but I think he needs to know what a slut of a girlfriend he has."
Veronica watched him walk away. "I'll be back with some more jingle jangle once I finish my call!" Nick said, walking up the stairs. The door slammed shut behind him, causing Veronica to jump at the loud sound.
"Archie... please..." Veronica whispered, her voice rough and choked with tears streaming down her cheeks. She tugged against her cuffs, sobbing, and stopped fighting, knowing she wouldn't get out anytime soon.
Veronica only hoped that Cheryl and Josie were safe, even if she wasn't. She rubbed her face against the rough pillow, sobs shaking her small frame.
