Captive
Chapter 8
Adam’s POV
Fear and panic. They are not usually words that I would associate with my
best friend. He was usually the one that always kept the rest of us upbeat
and positive. But now, I watch him tremble with a mix of anger and fear and
shed tears of worry and sorrow. Aisha has been missing for 24 hours and
there are no clues to her whereabouts. The only clue left behind is Alyssa’s
stroller indicating that she had been on her way to pick up her two-year-old
daughter. We are at Will’s in his basement lab. It nearly reminds me of the
old power chamber. Will has just finished telling everyone about Ryan’s
Comet. We have no leads as to what happened to Aisha and we’re praying
that Ivan is not alive. Rocky has the entire Angel Grove police force
combing everywhere for her. But there’s nothing...it’s like she just
vanished. That’s why we are thinking that her abductor is not human. I
smile a bit, as I watch Kat and Tanya take care of Alyssa. Both are going to
make such incredible moms...just like Aisha. I feel a few tears prick my
eyes. I pity the being that has taken her from, because when we find
them...they will pay.

Tommy’s POV
I sighed a little, as we passed the Angel Grove city limits sign. I was
anxious to see everyone, even though I wish it was under better
circumstances. The search for Aisha is expanding to a statewide search. I
glance at Kim out of the corner of my eye and I can tell how worried she is.
She has just moved to Reefside and our lives seemed like they were going
to be normal for a change. But once again, everything is being thrown off
balance by the forces of evil. In the back, Connor, Kira, and Ethan are
talking quietly, which is quite unusual for them. I almost made them stay
behind, but Kim convinced me that we needed everyone we could get.
They were rangers too. I pulled up the Wolf Tech about the same time as
the others. First thing, Kim and I both hugged Rocky, assuring him that we
would find her. We exchanged greetings with the others before introducing
Connor, Kira, and Ethan. Then we followed Will into the building and to the
rooftop observatory. I watched Ethan with some amusement, as his eyes
looked around at the technological wonder before him. I looked through the
telescope after Will had set the coordinates. Sure enough, there was
Ryan’s comet in all its glory.
“Something’s definitely not right,” I said.
“That comet was destroyed! We watched it explode!” Kim insisted.
“I know, that’s what’s so frightening about it. If it’s still here…” Will began.
“Then Ivan could still be alive,” I finished.
“Unfortunately, that’s exactly what it means,” Will replied.
“I don’t get it. Is this Ooze guy really that tough?” Connor wondered. I shot
Connor a look, as those of us who had faced Ivan also looked at him.
“He took out our powers, took control of the city and nearly destroyed it in
just 48 hours. Had we not stopped him, at the rate he was going, he would
have had the whole planet in no time,” Will replied.
“If he is alive, then where has he been all these years?” Rocky asked.
“That’s the mystery,” Will replied.
“But if he is alive, then how do we fight him? We don’t have our powers
anymore,” Kat reminded.
“Will, you’re the only one who has any knowledge of the morphin grid. Is
there any way to recreate our powers? I asked.
“The Dino coins were completely drained with no known way to re-energize
them. The Ninjetti powers were reinforced with the Ninja power coins,
which were destroyed. And the zeo crystal was destroyed as well. Zordon
would have been the only one who knew of any other power source,” Will
said sadly.

Two figures dressed in black clothes teleported in a secret chamber. They
removed their masks, revealing that they were Gavin and Ryan or formerly
Goldar and Rito.
Zedd entered the secret chamber from the secret door in his office. The
chamber of operations was the first thing he had constructed when he had
taken office as mayor.
“How is our guest?” Zedd asked.
“Resting comfortably. And no suspects you my lord,” Goldar replied.
“Yeah Ed, they actually think Ivan Ooze is still alive,” Rito laughed.
“You idiot, my name is Zedd. An only in privacy now. After nearly ten years,
you still can’t get it right,” Zedd ranted, but then returned to the subject at
hand.
“As for Ivan, he may very well be alive,” Zedd replied.
“But if Ivan is alive…he could ruin all your carefully laid plans,” Goldar said.
“Yes he could, but right now, he is creating a very nice diversion. While Will
and Tommy are worrying about Ivan, we shall capture our next victim,”
Zedd replied, as he handed Goldar a picture.
“My lord, he will take more force than our first victim,” Goldar replied.
“Yes Goldar, take as many men as you see fit,” Zedd replied.
“We won’t let you down Ed,” Rito replied. Zedd grumbled and wondered
why he kept that moron around. Mutant and human he was still an
imbecile.

Adam’s POV
Nothing on the comet situation had changed. Nor had anything changed
with Aisha. Will and I were constantly monitoring the comet, as were
Andros and Zhane. I entered my office and shut the door behind me.
Suddenly, I noticed that I wasn’t alone. About six guys in black uniforms
came out of hiding. How the hell they had got into my office, I was unsure.
My attention was drawn to a gold emblem on all of their jackets.
“Angel Guardians? But that means…” I began, but quickly had to begin
dodging kicks and punches. Four of them tackled me and threw me across
the room where I collided painfully with my desk. I shot back up, but as I
did, I felt a prick in my neck. I saw the man extract a syringe and things
began to go dark…

Tanya punched in the access code to her husband’s office and went in.
Her scream rattled through the executive floor. Her friends came rushing to
see what was going on.
“Oh man, I don’t believe it,” Rocky said angrily. First his wife and now his
best friend. Will’s attention was focused on the small bit of blood on the
floor. Tanya cried, as Kat did her best to console her.
“He put up one hell of fight, that’s for sure,” Tommy said.
“I’ll close off his office and have it dusted for prints, though I’m sure we
won’t find any,” Rocky replied.
“We all have to really keep on our guards now. Whoever is responsible, is
after former rangers,” Will said.

Adam’s POV
My head was pounding, as I slowly opened my eyes.
“Careful, that’s a big cut you’ve got on your forehead. They must have
been pretty rough with you,” Aisha said.
“Isha!” I exclaimed, as I sat up a little two quickly. I brought my hand to my
pounding head.
“Easy,” she reminded.
“What’s going on and where in the heck are we? This looks exactly like
yours and Rocky’s house,” I said.
“In a sense it is and in a sense we’re in Angel Grove. But then...we’re not,”
Aisha replied.
“I don’t get it,” I replied.
“Come on,” she said, as we stepped outside.
“It’s Angel Grove, but there’s no people,” I concluded, as we entered the
deserted park.
“Exactly, we’re in some sort of island replica of Angel Grove,” she replied.
“How do you know we’re on an island?” I asked.
“I’ll show you,” she replied, as we got deeper into the park. We came to
something that looked like a highly charged electrical force field.
“This is where the similarities between Angel Grove end. I’m guessing
we’re on some kind of island,” she said.
“Yes, the tropical jungle outside the force field and the tropical climate
would definitely suggest that,” I said, as we headed back to the house. On
the way, I explained the situation with Ryan’s Comet and asked her if she
had seen her captors.
“Rito and Goldar check on me often or Gavin and Ryan as they go by
now,” she said.
“Then when I saw the angel guardian badges, I wasn’t imagining things.
Zedd is the one behind this. And everyone suspects Ivan,” I replied.
“We’ve got even more problems if Ivan really is alive,” she said.
“The question is, what is Zedd hoping to gain by capturing us?” I
wondered.
“I don’t know. I just wish there was a way to warn everyone,” I said, with a
frustrated sigh.
“I bet that even though he suspects Ivan, Will hasn’t ruled out Zedd. We
just have to hope that they figure it out,” Aisha replied.
“Yeah, and hope they do before he kidnaps another one of us,” I said.

I felt my tense shoulders ease, as my husband wrapped his arms around
me from behind. I was so worried and scared about everything that was
happening. Aisha and Rocky were separated first and now Adam and
Tanya. I was so scared that someone was going to try and separated Will
and I next. I closed my eyes and let his love flow through me, as he kissed
my neck and shoulders.
“Will, I’m so scared,” my voice cracked, as I turned to look at him.
“I know. But we’re going to find them and I’m not going to let anything
happen to you,” he replied, before tenderly kissing my lips.
“It’s late, I’m going to take you home,” he said.
“I feel bad leaving Tanya,” I replied.
“Kim and Tommy are staying with her. She’ll be okay,” he promised. I
nodded and we left for home.

“How long until we reach Earth?” a man asked, as he stepped onto the
bridge of his Eltarian cruiser.
“Approximately 12 hours from now,” the Alpha unit replied. The man
nodded silently, as he silently watched the small green/blue planet in the
distance...
