Chapter 8
Curled up in the passenger seat of the Impala, at least the best he could to where he was comfortable, Sam had his eyes shut. It wasn't that he was tired and trying to sleep, no, that wasn't it. This was a well-known Sam tactic that told his brother he didn't want to talk at the moment. Now, normally, that was because he was thinking or trying to work something out. This time that wasn't the case. The problem was Dean was in a foul mood. When Dean was in a foul mood, he tried to pick fights about all kinds of things. That was the case now. So, Sam was resorting to the old tactic with it to stop everything before it grew worse. As Dean knew what this was, silence was reigning. Normally, something like this bothered him and would eventually cause a fight. This time it wasn't. As he knew the reasons it came about, he was actually grinning internally. Oh, yes, the plan was working just fine. Between what Cas had done and coming back to the room then seeing him sprawled out, sure Dean had picked up there had been no girl in the room, Dean was frothing. Perfect! Just what he had hoped for. Couple that with what Cas had been planning and the whole thing was playing out just how they needed it to. Now he just had to ride out Dean's prickly mood and get with Cas tonight to find another way to push things then they were good to go! Shifting around to where his back was mostly to Dean, something he knew his brother hated with a passion, Sam leaned his head against the window and waited to see what was going to happen.
Drumming his fingers on the steering wheel after jabbing the Judas Priest cassette into the drive, Dean kept glancing at Sam, grinding his teeth. His brother, the bitch, was apparently not pleased with his temper today because he was now giving him his back. Sammy knew how he hated that! And, in knowing that, his ginormous brother had apparently decided to see how much more he could piss him off for one day. Oh, he hated this shit! Stopping his fingers from drumming, he gripped the wheel tightly and glared at the highway that seemed to stretch endlessly before them. Right now, they were heading towards some piss-ant little town deep in the Rockies in Colorado to check out some kind of weird ass sightings of flaming creatures. He and Sammy, both, had thought the reports were just a hoax to draw attention to the town, but since there wasn't another hunt out there that they could find, they were going to check it out anyway. Only thing he was grousing about was it was going to be cold as hell. Another glance at Sam told him his brother was awake but his back was still to him, something that had Dean grinding his teeth. Alright, he was going to admit that he was a cranky ass bastard today. There was no question about that. And his temper was being taken out on Sam. Again, he would admit that. Thirdly, it was something he shouldn't be taking out on his brother. What Sam did with who was his business, just like it was for him. If Sammy wanted to play stuff the kielbasa with a guy, it was his right to do so nor should he say one damned word about it. Hell, he didn't give a shit if guys liked guys. If Sam wanted to lean that way once in a while, it was fine with him! Shit, any other time he would tell his brother to go for it, just not give details, like it was for his encounters with women. However, he was pissed. Royally and completely pissed. Worst of all? He had no friggin' right to be pissed! Wanting to bang his head on the steering wheel, Dean gave an internal groan. This was not helping anything! He was a touchy bastard anymore, he would give you that, but this? It was pushing him over the edge. Couple that with an angel that decided he was kissable and proved that he could do the act far better than most women he could remember had him confused. He wasn’t even going to toss the whole Armageddon thing into the nightmare to add to the already boiling pot. Nope, Sammy and Cas were enough to make him insane, so he was going to ignore the giant pissing contest for now even though he shouldn't.
After another half an hour of silence where Dean felt like he was going out of his mind, he finally gave an internal sigh. It was time to deal with this, at least a little. Well, partially anyway. Relaxing his grip on the steering wheel since by now his forearms hurt from doing that, he shifted around slightly, trying to get his numb ass into a more comfortable position. Glancing at his brother, who still had his back to him, he scrubbed one hand over his face, not sure how to go about this. After all, for once the whole thing was his fault. He couldn't lay any of it on Sammy. Reaching out, he snapped the tape off and silence, other than the hum of the tires on the pavement, filled the car. He hated that shit, but he needed it right now. Contemplating how to do this, he finally said, “It's going to be getting dark soon, what do you say we find a place to hole up and get something to eat?” “That's fine, Dean, whatever you want,” Sam mumbled, not turning around. As this would be normal for this type of behavior, he was going with it. Rubbing his eyes, Dean gritted his teeth. Nope, Sammy wasn't going to make this easy on him! Shaking his head, he said, “I'll pull off in the next town and see what we can find. Let's see if we can locate somewhere good to eat for a change rather than snagging something to take to the room. Maybe a good meal and something to drink. What do you say?” As this was the normal way that Dean apologized for whatever he had done and it would look odd for him to continue to ignore his brother, Sam looked over his shoulder and said, “Sure, Dean. Whatever you want.” Pleased that Sam was at least going to let him try to make up for being a jackass, Dean nodded, “Alright, we'll see what we can find. I could go for a steak dinner. We haven't done that for a while.” Uncurling, Sam stretched then settled back into a more normal position, shrugging. Keeping an eye out for signs of what might be coming when it came to towns around here, Dean wasn't sure what else to say to his brother. He was curious about what had gone on the night before and damned well wanted to know. He also planned to ask, but wasn't sure how to go about it. After about twenty more miles and no signs to indicate what might be coming next, Dean couldn't take it anymore. His curiosity was killing him and he had to figure out part of it. Honestly though, if he did find out that Sam liked men, at least once in a while, it would make the situation he was dealing with far worse. He knew that, but had to know. It was to the point he couldn't stand it anymore. Thinking it over and trying to find a way to start, Dean gave himself a mental kick in the ass before launching in. Keeping his tone light, he asked, “Did you have fun last night?” Glancing at his brother, trying not to grin, Sam shrugged, “Sure.” That was neutral and noncommittal about many things. After all, he had plenty of fun just curled up with a good book or playing on the computer. So it could mean anything. Nodding, saying nothing for a couple minutes, Dean asked, “What did you do? I mean, you were passed out cold with the lights on when I got back.” That was pointed enough that he was sure his brother would get the hint. Appearing to stiffen up, Sam said, bluntly, “None of your business, Dean. I don't ask you about things like that and you don't ask me. Old rule, remember?” “Yeah, I know. I just don't generally come back to the room with you passed out looking like someone had done some biting and having hickeys all over. It's odd, Sammy! I mean, you're the one that's the monk. You hiding secret proclivities from me or something?” Glaring at his brother, though grinning internally, Sam snapped, “I'm not going to talk about it, Dean! Leave it alone!” Giving a chuckle, Dean shook his head, “Alright, I get it! You have to admit it's strange, Sammy! You don't do that stuff. Especially since there was no hint of any kind of female smelling stuff in the room. You changing sides on us?”
Sitting at the far end of the parking lot at the motel late that night, Dean was just back from a munchies run. Sam was doing some research on whatever it was they were going to hunt and he wanted some of those cracker things he liked, so Dean offered to go get some along with beer. While gone, his mind was circling around the talk with Sam. As it did that, it also bounced to what was going on with Cas and the kissing shit. Now, really, he decided he had to know what was going on there. He did! It was making him nuts. So, when he pulled back in, he made sure to stay at the far end and then began to call for the angel. Within a minute, Cas popped into the car with the sound of fluttering wings. Looking at Dean, he asked, “Was there something you needed?” Looking at the angel, Dean said, firmly, “First, Cas, you keep yourself right over there and no kissing! I want some answers from you.” “You found the kissing pleasurable, Dean. In fact it was so pleasurable that you had an erection. I don't see why you would be adverse to more,” Cas stated bluntly. Scrubbing a hand over his face, Dean huffed. “Just—we aren't talking about that, alright? Just you stay over there and no kissing! I want some answers.” “I will stay over here and answer to the best of my ability,” Cas nodded, looking intently at Dean. “What questions do you want to ask of me?” Hoping that no more kissing was going to happen, Dean asked, looking intently at the angel, “What is up with the kissing? Why? Why did you kiss me to start with? And where the hell did you learn to do it?” Alright, the last one he should have probably kept to himself but he was definitely curious since Cas didn't seem to him to be the most experienced of beings when it came to anything of that kind. “I wanted to, felt the urge and went with it,” Cas told him simply. “I found it to be most pleasurable as well. I learned how from observing and with someone that seems to take pleasure in me doing so.” Alright, first of all? Dean's brain about exploded at the fact that Cas had apparently been doing something like that with someone else. He just couldn't exactly picture that. Nor would he have any idea of who it might be. He wanted to ask, of course, but didn't think his sanity could take it right that minute so he didn't. Instead he focused on the fact that Cas really hadn't answered his first question, so he said, “Alright, but why did you want to kiss me?” “I am learning that I find you quite attractive in many ways, Dean. I like being with you. There is also what you humans call a sexual attraction to you. That's something I was trying to impart that I wanted to explore.” Cas explained, truthfully. Sitting there, staring at the angel, Dean couldn't believe his ears. Sexually attracted to him? Scrubbing a hand over his face, he shook his head. Taking some deep breaths to calm himself, he asked, tone as level as he could get it, “Alright, from what I understand, angels are supposed to basically be asexual about almost everything. They can even inhabit vessels of the sex they don't associate with what they consider themselves to be. So, how is it you're having sexual feelings? For me, no less! And what about this other person you're doing whatever with? Won't they be upset if you're pursuing me?” “We are asexual, most times. There are instances in the past that this has happened,” Cas confirmed, looking serious. “There have even been births from couplings when it came to angels and humans. It does take place. I, apparently, am one of the few of my kind that do have these urges.” Looking at Dean, he then continued, “The other being I'm 'seeing', as humans term it, knows about my attraction to you and accepts it. They are also willing to have us join in what you, I believe, term a threesome relationship.” Sitting there, Dean stared at Cas, mouth hanging open so far that he was certain that it was about to hit the floorboard of his baby. Not always asexual—threesome--willing-- No! Just—no! He couldn't handle this! Picking up his jaw he managed to stammer out some kind of word, not exactly sure what it was supposed to be before shutting his mouth. Shaking his head, he said, tone stunned, “I can't deal with this right now. That, Cas-- I don't know what that is but I can't! Look, dude, you do not drop this on someone like that!” “You asked and I told you,” Cas said simply. “Well, I did, yeah,” Dean conceded, nodding. “I just-- no, I can’t right now.” “Think it over, Dean, it could be most pleasurable,” Cas told him. “Dude, you, me and a girl? I might like the girl part but I am not sure about you in this!” Dean told him firmly. “I never said the other party involved was a girl, Dean,” Cas told him simply. That was all Dean could take. Staring at the angel, wide-eyed, he asked, trying to ensure his voice wasn't squeaky, “It's a guy? You're involved with another guy?” “Yes, the other party is a male as well,” Cas confirmed. “We want you to join us in the relationship we have.” Dean was done, that was it. Shaking his head, sure his brain was playing tricks on him, he shook his head. “Cas, dude, no. I can't even begin to deal with this right now. I'm freaked out enough by you kissing me! Having a threesome with you and another guy? Dude, the level of wrongness that descends to is so far beyond what I can fathom!” “At least think about it, Dean. You had sex with a man and seemed to find it pleasurable. This could be the same,” Cas stated bluntly though, from what he was getting from Dean, he didn't think that this would happen or was going to work. It was, though, a step, as Sam said. If he understood Cas right, Dean was thinking that it very much sounded like the angel had sex before. That, well-- he didn't even want to think about it! No, he had too much to process right now. Shaking his head, he said, “Dude, no more. Not tonight. Just—I need to think about this. It's just-- I don't know what it is but I need to think. Alright?” “I understand,” Cas said, nodding. “Take all the time you need. We can discuss it all you like.” Quickly, he slid over and all but pinned Dean against the car door and kissed him, letting his tongue slip into his mouth as he did. While doing that, he let his hand wander up and down Dean's chest, liking the feel of the firm chest under his touch. Figuring he should have expected this despite the no kissing disclaimer he had started out with, Dean wasn't as shocked by it as he probably should have been. Though with the fact it had been happening, he supposed that it wasn't as stunning as it had been. Yet again, though, the fact that Cas could really kiss and feeling the angel's tongue in his mouth brought on another rise of his flesh. Brain dancing around in this odd, crooked circle over the whole mess, Dean finally managed to find it in himself to try to shove the angel away despite the fact that, somewhere in him, he liked the act. However, like the last time, he found that Cas was a helluva lot stronger than he looked and he was pinned to the car door, unable to move. Mouth locked with Dean's, Cas let his hand stray downwards then stroked his erection through his pants. That, he knew, was as far as he was going to be able to push it. Dean, though aroused, was not going to be able to take much more. After breaking off the kiss and removing his hand, he said, looking intently, “Consider it, Dean. You would find it most pleasurable.” Kissing Dean quickly, he then vanished with the sounds of fluttering wings. Sitting there, pressed against his baby's door, Dean was wide eyed. The kissing, well, that was normal by now, he supposed anyway. Cas had felt him up! There was no mistaking it! He had grabbed his dick through his pants and stroked it. Then, of course, his completely traitorous brain chucked up the fact that it felt good and Cas did seem to know what he was doing. No! It! Done! He could take no more! That was it! Pulling himself into an upright position, he grabbed hold of the munchies then bailed out of the car. After making sure his baby was locked up tight, as always, he all but fled to the hotel room like hellhounds were on his tail. After fumbling with the key to get it in the lock, he let himself in then slammed the door behind him, something that elicited an irritated knock from the room beside them and a quizzical look from Sam. Leaning against the door, he panted heavily, eyes bulging, not sure what to do. Looking at Dean, Sam fought off the grin that was threatening to show. It appeared that Cas had popped in for a visit with his brother. And Dean, well, he was in a state over it. Making sure to keep his voice calm, he asked, tone concerned, “Dude? Something wrong? You look panicked.” Gulping, looking at his brother, Dean opened his mouth to say something but quickly snapped it shut. There was no way to explain the look without questions that he couldn't answer so he was going for bluffing. Shaking his head, he peeled himself off the door then walked to the table. Dropping the bag of snacks on it, he said, “Naw, it's nothing. Don't worry about it.” Changing the topic, he asked, “Anything decent on TV?” Grinning internally, Sam kept his poker face then said, “Yeah, actually, there is. They have HBO. A couple good movies on from what the guide said.”
