A/N: This is a Piper/Chris story. So if you don’t like this pairing, then don’t read it and bother me with flames. Also, this is an AU fic where Chris isn’t related to the Charmed ones through blood. And those who support this pairing, I hope you have fun while reading this story and please review :).
It was an early Saturday morning and all of the Halliwell sisters were looking forward to the weekend, having just vanquished an entire group of gorgons. So they were naturally entitled to a break.
Piper was in the living-room, bottle-feeding her son Wyatt and wondering what she would for the weekend. Paige had just woken up and she was in the kitchen getting a mug of coffee while Phoebe was at her desk, going through some letters and typing the replies for her advice column.
Paige entered the living room right then with a mug of steaming coffee in her hand and she sat opposite to Piper and said with a contented sigh, "This is one weekend well deserved."
"Why, was killing gorgons too hard on you?" asked Piper with a warm smile.
"Well, vanquishing them without being able to look at them wasn’t easy," replied Paige, rolling her eyes. "Especially when one of those snakes actually bit me in the shoulder." Piper winced at the memory, grateful that Leo had healed Paige while it was still possible - she didn’t want to lose another sister.
For the first time in half-an-hour, Phoebe looked up from her laptop and said, "You have a date tonight?" she sounded pretty excited.
Paige groaned and put her mug on the table. "Phoebe, for the last time, stay out of my emotions!" she exclaimed.
"I can’t help it if you’re constantly fantasizing about oral sex with him," retorted Phoebe and after having realized what she just said, she blushed - along with Paige, was now was red as a tomato.
"I guess the effects of that empathy-blocking potion are wearing off, eh?" remarked Piper, amused at her sisters’ bickering. "I guess we should ask Leo or Chris to get us another batch...one that will preferably last for a lifetime." She rolled her eyes.
Just then, Chris orbed in, wearing jeans, a white T-shirt and green jacket.
"Speak of the devil and he shows up," remarked Paige, rolling her eyes. Chris scowled at her and turned to Piper. "I’ve been going through the Book of Shadows," he began.
"No!" cried all three sisters in unison.
"Just hear me out," he pleaded but Piper interrupted him.
"Chris, we are on a break this weekend," she said firmly. "Everyone’s entitled to a break...even you."
Chris snorted as she continued, "So whatever bad news you’ve got in store for us is gonna have to wait for Monday."
"Well-said, Piper," Paige sounded satisfied. Chris glared at her and she stuck out her tongue at him, which annoyed him even more.
Phoebe chuckled, got up from behind her desk and came to stand beside Chris. "Oh, come on," she said with a grin. "Why don’t you take the weekend off and go to visit your other charge...what was her name again?"
"Natalie," Paige piped in, enjoying Chris blush. Piper normally did not like to tease or pick on people but she was enjoying this, though not in a malevolent way.
She said, "Yeah, just go ahead and pay her a visit, why don’t ya? Leo did tell me that he once caught you in an...ahem, indecent state with her." The three sisters laughed and Chris obviously did not like being laughed at.
"Look," he said, "this isn’t funny ok?"
"Oh, relax, Chris," said Phoebe nonchalantly. "Demons can wait. Why don’t you just forget about being a whitelighter for a while and go catch a movie or something?" she touched his hand and right then, she had a premonition.
There was a dimly-lit bedroom in the vision she saw. Flashes of two figures on the bed, making passionate love. Their faces seemed familiar but she couldn’t make them out yet. And then, there was yet another flash. A scene in a church, an altar. A priest was witnessing two people exchange their wedding vows. And they seemed so happy and madly in love. Under other circumstances, Phoebe would have been glad for their happiness. But when she saw who the couple actually was, her mouth dropped open in astonishment and she gasped.
And then the premonition stopped.
"Phoebe?" Paige’s concerned voice broke into her thoughts. "Are you all right?"
Phoebe opened her eyes and looked from Chris to Piper, from Piper to Chris. She felt Paige’s hand on her shoulder. "Yes, yes," she stuttered. "I’m fine...just a little...woozy, I guess." She giggled nervously.
"Are you sure you’re fine?" Piper got to her feet, carefully cradling the now-sleeping Wyatt in her arms. "You look like you just saw a ghost." She frowned.
Worse than seeing a ghost, Phoebe thought to herself, but aloud she forced a calm smile. "No, no, I’m fine," she said, trying to act normal. "It’s nothing, really." She glanced at Chris, who was giving her a weird look. Had he guessed what she’d just seen in her vision? If so, then he was begging her silently to keep it to herself. "Um, I have to get back to finishing my work," she hurried to her desk, thankful that everyone left the room soon. But she couldn’t concentrate on what was she was doing, her mind kept replaying what she’d witnessed in her premonition.
I can’t believe it, she thought to herself. Chris is Piper’s future husband!
