Love Alters Not When It Alteration Finds

Sonnet 116

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove.
O no, it is an ever-fixèd mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wand'ring bark,
Whose worth's unknown, although his height be taken.
Love's not time's fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle's compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

--William Shakespeare

***************

Jack couldn’t have helped the pang of regret that filled him when the Tardis left without him. Rose and the Doctor had become such an important part of his life so quickly, and then they had left without even checking to see if his body was cold. He wasn’t bitter…it had been a suicide mission, and they all knew it (he still didn’t know why he was alive when everyone else attacked by the Dalek’s weapon had been killed instantly)…but watching them leave without him had still hurt.

Normally he was a love ‘em and leave ‘em sort of guy, but they had fulfilled him in a way that nothing else ever had. Having adventures…fighting the good fight…his life just seemed so much more exciting and meaningful when they were in it. Each of them touched a place deep inside of him, and he felt slightly hollow without them. Not to mention, the sex was absolutely fantastic. Which is why he spent the next year of his life hunting them down.

The first part was easy. Time Agents always flocked to scenes that involved the Daleks and mention of the Time War, and it had been sinfully easy to steal away one of their ships. Even finding his way to Rose’s England had not been so bad…he’d had to do a bit of fine-tuning to sink up their time lines…even being a few months off meant encountering a Rose who knew nothing of either him or the Doctor. But once he’d synchronized their timelines, it was just a matter of waiting, because Rose never could stay away from home for too long.

It was the waiting that was killer though.

He was so desperate to find Rose and the Doctor that he even insinuated himself into the Torchwood Institute, Britain’s top-secret (at the time) agency for defending the planet against alien threats. From its inception, one of its prime directives was to watch for the Doctor…whether they considered him a threat or an asset seemed to change depending on who was in charge, but one thing remained constant…they always watched for him.

When he finally received word of an old, blue Police Box randomly appearing in the middle of London, his heart leapt into his throat. His wait was finally over. He had heard rumors from the Prime Minister that the Doctor’s appearance had drastically changed, but Jack didn’t care. He couldn’t imagine any sort of disfiguration changing his feelings for the man who had come into his life like a whirlwind and changed it so completely in such a short amount of time. Without hesitation, he did a scan for alien tech and tuned in to the Doctor’s trusty sonic screwdriver (a nifty trick he didn’t dare share with his coworkers at Torchwood…just in case they ever decided they wanted to hurt the Doctor).

Using his personal teleport device, he beamed himself to a location about 20 yards away from the Doctor’s signal so he could survey the situation before rushing in. However, the man exiting the Tardis looked nothing like the man he had come to have such strong feelings for. But Rose was there, and she was smiling at him and chatting away like everything was perfectly normal. Obviously he was missing certain key pieces of information.

He saw Rose split off and go a separate way, and he knew he should follow her and get the full story before confronting the strange man, but she was headed away from him and the supposed Doctor was walking right towards where he was hiding. Acting on impulse, he waited until the other man was nearly on top of his location before he leapt out and slammed him into a wall.

“Who are you, and what have you done with the Doctor?” he asked angrily, holding a laser gun to the other man’s throat.

“Jack?” the other man asked incredulously. “Now I know that wonders never cease. I thought you were dead!”

Completely ignoring the weapon pressing into his throat, the Doctor pulled Jack into a passionate kiss before throwing his arms around the other man and hugging him fiercely.

“Doctor?” Jack asked, confusion plainly evident in his voice as he lowered his weapon placed it back in its holster.

“A lot’s happened since you’ve been gone,” the Doctor said, a slightly reserved look stealing away the face-splitting grin that had filled his face when he first saw Jack.

“So I can see,” Jack replied dryly.

“I’m still me though. The outside may be all bollixed up, but I’m still the same on the inside, where it counts.”

“Any doubt I had was removed the moment you kissed me,” Jack said with a flirtatious grin. “It took me ages to teach you to kiss properly, remember?” he said with a wink.

“I wasn’t that bad, now was I?” the Doctor asked in a mock-hurt tone.

“You had your moments,” Jack replied, pulling him in for another kiss. “But what’s with the new look?”

“Well, we Time Lords have this way of cheating death…a bit like cats we are, but with a few more lives. But the process requires every cell in the body to rapidly die and be reborn. Quite traumatic, as you can imagine…and the end result is a total morph in appearance…and perhaps a new personality quirk or two. But my mind is still intact…or as intact as it ever gets anyway.”

“You’re gonna have to teach me that trick…I quite like the idea of cheating death,” Jack said with a grin.

“You’re one to talk,” the Doctor replied. “Looks to me like you’ve already found a way to cheat death…you standing here at all is proof of that.”

“Problem is…I have no idea how I did it,” Jack replied.

“I might have a theory about that,” the Doctor said. “But that’s not important right now. What’s really important is…what do you think?” he asked as he spun in a circle. “Do you like the new look?”

“Not bad,” Jack said with a leer. “Like the longer hair…always nice to have something to hold on to in the throws of passion…and you’re definitely much more trim…always a plus. But these are all obvious differences. What’s say we hop into the Tardis, and I can give you a more…thorough…examination?” he asked with his most flirtatious grin.

“I like how you think!” the Doctor replied with a grin of his own.

As soon as they reached the bedchamber in the Tardis, Jack began to peel off the Doctor’s clothing, piece by piece. The clothes came off in a rush, but once they were both naked, Jack slowed things down to almost a crawl. He wanted to explore every inch of this ‘new’ Doctor. He ran his hands over every bit of skin he could find, etching a map of the Doctor’s body onto his fingertips.

Oh, that was different. Same length, but definitely thicker. That was certainly a change he could approve of.

Jack was just beginning to retrace the path his hands had taken, but this time with his mouth and tongue, when the Doctor finally lost his cool. He never was one to give up control for very long…always had to be in charge, that one. He pulled Jack’s head away from its descent down his stomach and brought him up for a passionate kiss. Then he flipped Jack facedown on the edge of the bed and began running his hands up and down the other man’s body while nipping at the back of his neck.

Oh, this was definitely his Doctor. No other man knew quite how to touch him like he did.

Jack began making half-whimpered, guttural noises as the Doctor continued his assault. He’d missed this far more than he realized. The feel of the Doctor’s hand pumping slowing up and down his throbbing erection while the fingers of his other hand slowly began penetrating his ass was nearly enough to make him cum on the spot. But he had to hold out. He’d waited too long to end things so…prematurely.

Finally, after what seemed like forever, the Doctor ceased his slow torture. Covering his manhood with a generous portion of Jack’s favorite lube, chocolate cherry (Jack always did like the connection between chocolate and sex), the Doctor slowly slid into the other man until he was buried completely within him.

Jack let out a deep moan, definitely appreciating the extra girth the new Doctor had. The Doctor set a slow pace at first, rocking his hips gently against the other man, but Jack was tired of slow and tortuous. He wanted hard and fast. He began to let out small whimpers of protest, bucking his hips back as hard as he could to meet the Doctor’s thrusts. Always one to take a hint (at least when it suited him), the Doctor began to push into him in earnest, causing Jack to gasp at the white-hot bolts of pleasure that shot through him every time he connected with that sweet spot deep inside of him.

He could feel himself building towards a glorious release, but he was hanging onto the edge of the precipice, trying his best to milk the sensation for as long as possible, and just as he felt he could not hold on any longer, Rose walked into the room, causing both men to freeze, their bodies tenses with unreleased pleasure.

Rose’s eyes opened wide as she surveyed the scene in front of her, but it only took a moment for her shock to give way to joy.

“Jack!” she exclaimed, crawling over the bed to give him a thorough kiss. “I knew it…somewhere deep down inside I knew that you couldn’t be dead. Not my Jack,” she said tenderly, a tear sliding down her face as she ran her fingers through his hair.

Jack arched forward, kissing her back enthusiastically, but when his hand started pulling at the hem of her shirt, she broke the connection abruptly. She knew that neither Jack nor the Doctor had the stamina to hold out long enough for her to get her jollies too (at least, for this go ‘round). Best to let them finish before things got painful.

“Don’t let me interrupt,” she said, brushing away her happy tears.

Rose turned away from them, and Jack was just about to call out to her and ask her to stay, when he saw what she was up to. She grabbed a nearby chair and placed it at the foot of the bed, giving her a nice side view of the two men while also allowing her to see them both in the mirror on the opposite wall.

“Go on, then” she said after she had situated herself, a wicked gleam in her eye. “Don’t mind me…just make sure you don’t wear him out too much, Doctor. I’ll be wanting to welcome him home properly myself once you’ve finished.”

Jack shuddered at her words, a bolt of pleasure racing through him as he anticipated all that was to come. The pleasure continued to escalate as the Doctor smiled against his shoulder and renewed his attentions.

It was good to be home.
