Summary: In her quest to fulfill her devious plans, the Mother of All, Eve, decides she needs a little more ammunition against those that stand between her and what she wants. What better weapon is there than a youkai lord and his miko mate? Silly woman brought it all on herself… Now Sam and Dean have to put up with a temperamental miko and an angry daiyoukai from the past.
As they approached the outskirts of the small town, Sesshomaru stopped, eyes narrowing. He could hear some beings, humans from the smell of them, approaching. Shoving Kagome behind him, he drew his katana and waited. With the strangeness of the situation that they were in, he wasn’t all that sure that they would find any kind of friendly being out here. Scanning around, ignoring the miko’s questions, he waited for them to show themselves.
After getting caught in a bramble bush, Dean was cursing. “Great, just freakin’ great! This was my favorite shirt!” He snarled as he looked at the hole that was now torn in his Metallica t-shirt. “Dean, quiet!” Sam said, stopping and hoisting the shotgun full of salt rounds up. “I think I heard something.” Glaring at his brother, Dean wanted to retort but said nothing, readying his weapon, shifting the duffle he was carrying into a more comfortable position. “Cas better be right. She better be out here,” he hissed in a whisper to Sam. “It’s the middle of the night in Podunk Ville and we are traipsing through the damn woods!” Creeping forward, trying to be as quiet as he could, Sam whispered back, “He said she was here and brought something along, something powerful, but didn’t know what it was.” About to retort by saying something not nice about Cas, Eve and anything else that came to mind, Dean heard a rustling sound. Stopping, he listened to where it was coming from to try to get a direction to go when he heard a soft, feminine voice that didn’t sound like it was saying anything in English. Getting Sam’s attention, he jerked his head inthe direction he heard it. Nodding, Sam followed him as quietly as he could, the shotgun ready if it was needed. However, if it was something the Mother of All had brought along, he wasn’t all that sure standard salt rounds would do any good against it. Stepping into a clearing, Dean immediately raised his shotgun at the two beings that were standing there. The one was obviously a human girl, a bit on the short side but cute nonetheless, dressed in a Hello Kitty t-shirt and sleep pants with big, fuzzy, white dog foot slippers on. If the situation wasn’t a serious one, he would have no problems hitting on her, providing she wasn’t jailbait that is. The other, well, he wasn’t sure what that being was. Tall, long silver hair, dressed oddly with markings on his face, he was sure this was the creature that Eve had brought along. Waiting for Sam to join him, he then barked out, “Alright, what are you! Where is the bitch?” Eyebrow arched at the odd language that the being was speaking, Sesshomaru then glanced at the weapon he was carrying. A shotgun was something he knew about and didn’t like it. Immediately hoisting his katana higher, he glowered at the two ningen males then snapped, “If you wish to survive the night, I suggest you lower your weapon!” Arching an eyebrow at the odd language, Dean glanced at Sam with a ‘what the fuck’ look. Looking back at the two, he snarled, “Lower the blade, dude, or I empty the shotgun into you!” Clutching tightly to Sesshomaru, hiding behind him, Kagome listened to what was being said, frowning. Though she struggled with her English classes, she knew the language when she heard it and thought that, maybe, she could do a bit of translating before this ended up in a full-out battle. Giving Sesshomaru’s sleeve a tug, she said, quietly, eyes locked on the two men with the weapons, “Hang on, Sesshomaru. Let me try to talk to them.” Sparing the miko a glance, the daiyoukai then focused back on the aggressors that dared to challenge him. “They don’t speak Japanese, Kagome. You aren’t going to get through to them!” “They are speaking English. I take it in school. Let me at least try, OK?” She asked softly, still gazing at the two with the guns. Though unwilling to put his miko in any kind of danger, Sesshomaru thought that, maybe, it might be worth a shot to diffuse things until they could suss out what was going on and how to rectify the situation. “Go ahead. But the first sign of danger and we do it my way.” He told her gruffly, eyes never leaving the two beings with weapons. Stepping in front of Sesshomaru nervously, holding her hands up to show she had no weapons, she said, softly, stumbling over the English slightly, “I’m Kagome and this is Sesshomaru. We’re not sure what’s going on or how we got here! We’re not even really sure where ‘here’ is so… We don’t mean you any harm.” Listening to the young woman’s broken English with a heavy far eastern accent, Dean lowered his weapon slightly, glancing at Sam before focusing back on the big being behind her. “Where is Eve?” He asked bluntly. Confused look on her face, Kagome shook her head, eyes darting to the gun then back at the man’s face, “Eve? I’m not sure who that is!” Lowering his weapon, Sam took a step forward, keeping an eye on the being behind the girl. Those names rang a bell somewhere but he couldn’t quite place where it was from. Pushing that aside, he was going to try to work with this. He was better with the soft touch then Dean ever thought of being so he thought if he handled this, they might get more information. “She calls herself the Mother of All. She was around here earlier, that’s why we’re here.” Eyes widening, Kagome nodded vigorously then quickly translated what was said to Sesshomaru before turning back to the soft spoken man. “She’s the one that brought us here!” Glancing to Dean, who was now ready, from what his body language was saying, to go kick some evil ass. Putting a hand out to calm his brother, he then turned back to this Kagome and asked, “Where is she? Do you know?” “Um… she’s dead. Sesshomaru, killed her,” she told him then went to translate what was said to Sesshomaru. “What? How? We haven’t found a way to kill the bitch yet!” Dean sputtered, glancing from Sam to the odd pair across from them. Shrugging, Kagome said, “His katana, Bakusaiga, it can kill about anything.” After the miko translated, Sesshomaru looked smug, lifting his nose in the air and looking at the two ningen males, proud. Nodding, Sam smiled at the girl, she was obviously upset about what was going on, then asked, softly, “Can you show us where she is? Her body, I mean? That way we can make sure she’s really gone.” After quickly telling Sesshomaru what was said she turned back to them, “We can show you but there is no body. It’s just a pile of ash is all.” “That’s fine, we need to make sure. Sometimes these things come back and need to be ganked again,” Dean told her then glanced at Sam. “Uh… ganked?” Kagome asked, confused, looking between the two. “He means killed,” Sam explained, smiling at the poor girl. “You two go ahead and lead the way but tell your friend…” he said glancing at the big male, “to keep his sword out just in case.” “He’s my mate,” Kagome said with a smile but continued, “I’ll tell him though.” After a quick translation to Sesshomaru, he nodded then slipped his arm around the miko, nodding to the two ningen to follow then made his way back from where they came. After covering the short distance, Kagome stopped by what was left of the ash, gesturing to it, then saying, “This is her. Well, what’s left of her after Sesshomaru got done.” Looking at the pile of ash, Sam and Dean then looked at each other then to the odd couple.
An hour later, the quartet were in Sam and Dean’s room, trying to figure out just what was going on. First, the brothers introduced themselves and explained what they did then Sam, gently, walked Kagome through what had happened. From Kagome’s end, that wasn’t easy. First, the brother’s names sounded very familiar to her but she couldn’t quite place where she heard them. Instead, she focused on what had happened. To truly explain what was going on, she had to go through the whole mess about time traveling wells, hanyou, youkai, Naraku and everything else, sure the two brothers would think she had lost her mind and not believe a word she said. Listening to her, Sam was rubbing a finger across his chin. All of this was sounding very familiar to him. While Dean continued to question the two, he booted up his laptop and began searching. Quickly, he found what he was looking for. Grinning he said, “I knew your story sounded familiar, Kagome! It’s a manga and anime called Inuyasha!” Looking at him, stunned, Kagome stammered out a, “What? Manga and anime? It’s no manga and anime!” Pushing the computer over to her, he showed her the article he had found on the thing. “It’s right there. My roommate in college used to watch it.” Reading over the article, Kagome was stunned, eyes wide. Looking down at the clock in the corner of the screen, her mouth went dry when she looked at the date. Looking first at Sesshomaru, explaining what the problem was, she then looked back at Sam and asked, softly, “Is the date on the computer right?” Nodding, Sam smiled then said, “Yeah, it’s accurate.”
Sesshomaru was about as relaxed as he could get, considering the circumstances. Things were a bit more settled for him now that he had the gist of what was going on. While ignoring the brothers and talking to Kagome, he was perusing the website that had the scans of the manga on it in Japanese, snorting in amusement as he read through them. As if his miko would lower herself to end up with the whelp, Inuyasha. That was laughable! Nor was the thing accurate in other ways, such as his exploits being attributed to the boy. Someone had taken some serious steps to change the story. While showing some of it to his miko, there was a fluttering sound behind him. Instinctually, Sesshomaru was on his feet, sword drawn, tip of the blade pressed to the Adam’s apple of the being that had just appeared behind him. Snarling, eyes flashing slightly red, he waited for the strange being, another that wasn’t ningen but wearing the body of one, to make a move. Immediately, Kagome was on her feet, looking from her mate to Sam and Dean, waiting to see what was going on, tense and wringing her hands. Standing up, hands out in a placating manner, Sam soothed, “It’s alright. Tell Sesshomaru he’s here to help us. He’s an angel and I think he’s the only one that can get you two back where you belong.” Nodding, Kagome quickly went to work explaining to her mate what was going on, trying to get him to lower the katana. Once she did, she got him to back away. Looking around, the stunned Castiel’s eyes lit on the daiyoukai, widening slightly as he took in the old outfit. Looking at Dean, he asked in his normal deadpan, “What is going on?” Chuckling, Dean shook his head then said, “You might want to sit down for this one, Cas! It’s going to take some serious explaining.” “Did you find Eve,” Castiel asked, eyes darting to the two other beings in the room. “No, we didn’t but she is ganked.” Pointing to Sesshomaru, he said, “She thought she would recruit him and he took her out.” “That is good then,” Cas replied, glancing at the two, listening to what they were saying. Though they were conversing in Japanese, he was able to understand them. Nodding to Dean, he then stepped over to the two and began to ask questions in Japanese. Though wary of the newcomer, sensing some serious powers coming from him, Sesshomaru was relieved to actually be able to understand someone in the room besides Kagome. Because of that, he quickly explained what he knew of the situation. Frowning, Cas nodded at what was being said, quickly sussing out the situation and what to do about it. After explaining his plan to the miko and daiyoukai, he turned to Sam and Dean then stated, “I’ll return in a few minutes, I’ll be returning these two towhere they belong.” Scooping up his mate, holding her to his chest, Sesshomaru nodded to the two males that found them then waited. Looking over at Sam and Dean, Kagome smiled at them and waved, “Thanks for your help, it was greatly appreciated! If you ever get to Tokyo, stop by and say hi!”
