Stolen moments

"I'll never love you, you know." Suzie whispers as he holds her up against the alley wall, thrusting his way to completion.

"I never asked you to." Jack says, flashing his trademark grin at her.

There's something broken in his eyes that she recognizes and she knows she'll be the one to end this.

Jack's too afraid of being alone and Suzie's too afraid of holding on. It'll never work, but for now they can have moments like this. Stolen moments in back alleys after a capture.

Suzie closes her eyes and imagines having Jack at her mercy, the perfect victim for a serial killer, and thinks that maybe should could love him like that; cutting him open every night as he looks at her with his broken eyes.
