Lexie Grey stood leaning against the railing outside Seattle Grace, wondering how on earth she managed to get herself into that position with Mark again. A baby, he was going to have a baby! And with the person she was jealous of in the first place.
‘So, I just found out about Callie...’ Came Arizona’s voice as she leaned up against the railing next to Lexie. ‘I would ask what you’re thinking so hard about, but I think I know.’
‘Sucks, right.’ Lexie replied, glancing sideways to see tear tracks running down Arizona’s cheeks that matched her own. ‘Are you two getting back together than?’
‘I don’t know. She’s still angry at me for leaving. I’m angry at her for sleeping with Mark. I know we weren’t together, but it still feels like she cheated. And it was only a couple months ago that we split up because I didn’t want kids, I know I said we could, but I’m not ready, not yet.’
‘I think I need alcohol. Lots of it. Want to join me?’ Without waiting for a reply Lexie began walking towards Joe’s, showing that she really didn’t care who was there, as long as there was alcohol. Arizona ran to catch up with the younger woman, assuring herself that sometimes, you need to get drunk just to not think.
Several drinks later, Lexie, Meredith, Arizona and Christina sat at a small table in the corner of the bar not talking. The door opened and Derek walked in, closely followed by Owen. Both men sat at the table, Derek planting a chaste kiss on Merediths cheek, Owen brushing his hand lightly over the base of Christina’s spine and letting his arm linger around her. Another two minutes of silence passed before Derek stood and spoke.
‘Much as I love not speaking to all of you, I have a beautiful wife to take home.’ And with a sly smile, he pulled Meredith through the door.
'Thank god for that, this is so depressing! Come on Owen, let’s go.’ Lexie and Arizona were once again left alone, both looking miserable, as Christina and Owen disappeared.
‘Right, ok, alcohol isn’t working. New strategy. Come on.’ Arizona took hold of Lexie’s wrist and pulled her off the chair ‘I’ve got something that will cheer us both up at my apartment.’
An hour later both girls were giggling and trying not to fall on top of each other as they contorted themselves into odd positions and showed just how flexible they were.
‘Left hand, red.’ Laughed Lexie, looking at the hand which Arizona had to move the whole way across the Twister mat, which Lexie was currently blocking with her very easy arrangement of arms and legs in the four corners of the board.
With a groan, Arizona lifted her hand, nearly fell, caught herself and did a very awkward turn in mid-air and just managed to touch a red spot with her left hand. Unfortunately this put her hovering over Lexie, their breasts brushing as Arizona shook unsteadily and tried to move away so that the two weren’t touching. Lexie’s fingers tickled over Arizona’s soft skin, tracing the line of her spine, making the woman shudder and let a small moan trickle into Lexie’s mouth and the kissing grew harder, more insistent. Hands began running over each other’s body. 'Yeah, lets not talk about this. Ever again.'
'Yeah.'
