The time Dean spends drinking is directly related to the amount of time he thinks about Cas. Currently, Dean is hammered. It has been seven months since he and Sam left Castiel in the old folks home to watch over Fred, but it feels to Dean that the time has been seven years. No amount of praying will coax the angel to his side and casting a spell wouldn’t feel right, so Dean just waits. He takes another gulp from the Jack Daniels bottle in his hand before rising from his chair and shifting his feet across the brown shag carpet to the other side of the motel room.
