It seemed like there was no way back. It was very dark on the once bright ship. The Enterprise was overrun with the Borg. Any vision of hope, was starting to dwindle. And that the universe may soon succumb to the Borg. Data was now being held captive by the Borg queen. Her desire was to have him join them, and her other wish was to assimilate the galaxy. Data looked at the Borg Queen, he could feel his emotions come to the surface once again. Fear, and anxiety made his mind race and if he had a heart it would be racing quickly. A smile formed on the lips of the queen, her beady eyes locked with the yellow hues of Data. She walked up to him as he was held in a strange contraption.
“Such a curious and interesting creature....” her voice said almost lustfully. Her hand extended to caress his cheek and he flinched. Data looked away from her. A chuckle emitted from her throat. “Do not recoil Data. You will soon be one of us... Resistance.... is futile..” she uttered the famous phrase of the Borg. ----------------------------------------------A few Hours before------------------------------------------------------ ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Enterprise-E was sailing through the stars, its mission was the same as any other Federation Flag Ship. To do the prime directive and help those in need. Captain Jean-Luc Picard, was in leadership of this fine craft. He and his crew had seen a lot of things. Death, happiness, and despair. He had lost important members of his crew over the years and each time he did, it never got any easier. Today, was pretty routine so there was no reason for them to suspect that soon they would be head to head with the Borg. Data was at the helm. As he normally was keeping the ship on its course. There was a new arrival that was going to make Data very happy and curious at the same time. The turbo-lift opened to show a starfleet admiral and a woman next to him had the rank of commander. Jean-Luc stood to greet the admiral and the new commander that would be joining Picard's crew. The woman had reddish hair, and crystal blue eyes. Her hair was went to her neck and her skin was a nice pale hue. “Ah admiral welcome to the Enterprise-E. “ Picard greeted. Picard shifted his gaze to the young woman standing next to the admiral. “And this must be our new commander.” he said with a smile. The woman smiled. The captain extended his hand. She met his and shook it firmly but kindly. “It is a pleasure to meet you Captain Picard, I am Commander Celestia Rose. It is an honor to be aboard this fine craft under your leadership.” she responded. Data's ears perked when he heard the name. Turning he couldnt believe who he was seeing. “Celestia....” he whispered. She was someone he went to the academy with. Celestia was the sort of woman that was very intelligent for she was the youngest ever to go to the academy. Data had someone else take the helm as he went to see his old friend. Since he now had the emotion chip, he could truly feel happy. Data came to a stop next to Picard his face showed surprise. Picard saw Data and went to introduce him. “Commander this is----” he began. “Lt. Commander Data.” Celestia spoke finishing the captains sentence. “I went to the academy with Data. It has been.. a long time. “ her lips were curled into a smile. When they went to the academy together, she wished to tell him how she felt. She had always had a crush on him, but with him having no emotions, it was hard for her to tell him so. Though she did notice his face showed surprise. Was it possible he had emotions now? “Its... very good to see you again Data. “ She extended her hand to meet his. When he met her hand he felt an emotional connection. His yellow eyes stared at her as if he was excited or nervous. Picard looked at both of them and had an idea of what was going on. Picard thought for a moment. Since they knew each other, he figured Data could give Celestia a tour of the Enterprise and perhaps they could become reacquainted. Clearing his throat, the captain spoke. “Uh Admiral, why dont you join me in my ready room, I am sure Data can give Commander Rose a tour. “ he began as he looked at Data. Data looked at the captain with a curious expression. “Thats not a problem, is it Mr. data?” the captain asked. Shaking his head, Data replied. “ Of course not captain. “ He answered. Celestia looked at Data, a smile still on her lips as she tilted her head to the side. Picard nodded.”Make it so Mr. Data.” he replied. Data then gestured for Celestia to follow him. They walked into the turbo-lift, there was a silence around them. It seemed that now that they were alone both were unsure of what to say or do. Data told the computer where they needed to go. He couldnt help but shift his gaze to Celestia. He had thought she was lovely before but that wasnt emotion truly a fact. Now his emotions were telling him, there was an attraction. Celestia than spoke.”Data.” she began her heart racing in her chest as she turned to face him. She didnt know what it was, but something about his yellow eyes made her feel safe and secure. Suddenly, she felt her cheeks begin to burn. He looked at her, something about the way she looked at him made him feel, happy and at peace. “Yes Celestia?” he asked. She spoke.”Halt.” she commanded. The turbo-lift stopped. She looked at Data once again. “Data... we have known each other for a long time. There is something I need to tell you....” Celestia's words seemed to want to blurt out ' I love you, I have always been in love with you' but she kept her composure. “I've.... I've.... always....” she started again. Then out of know where, the ship shook. Celestia landed in Data's arms because of how violently the ship shook. Data embraced her, holding her close to him. The ship was now in red alert yet they did not know why. The turbo-lift continued to where they were going to go. Once the door opened, they walked out and paused. Data pressed the comm badge. “Captain, what is going on?” he asked. “It seems we are under attack Mr. Data by.............” there was a long pause. As if everyone and everything on the ship had froze. Data waited for a reply as he held Celestia who just held onto Data as she wondered what could be going on. The captains voice than came over the comm badge. “We have engaged the Borg.” the captains voice seemed to be in fright. This may have been because a while back he was taken by the Borg and was made part of their collective. Data looked at Celestia who looked back up at him. Her crystal hues held worry since she had heard of the Borg, she had known they had taken Captain Picard and that they had encountered them more than once. “Data did he say... the Borg?” her voice was trying to stay calm, and normally that was not difficult, but when he came to this, it was a fear. A fear so strong it was almost paralyzing. Looking down at her he knew she was afraid, which was fine, he was as well. He had fear before a year or so ago, but now it seemed the fear was somewhat stronger. “Come on we need to get weapons.”Data said as he took her hand to lead her to where they kept the laser rifles. Right now she was sure that this was a certain situation that was not going away. But she had faith in her fellow Federation officers, mainly Data. While AFF and its agents attempt to remove all illegal works from the site as quickly and thoroughly as possible, there is always the possibility that some submissions may be overlooked or dismissed in error.
