Disclaimer: I own nothing from the Power Rangers SPD universe. I do not claim to. I make no money from this. |
Editors Note: This is a complete overhall of an old story I had started. I'll be completely editing, gutting, and rewriting the chapaters tht I had before moving on to new stuff. Reviews are always welcome. Sex violence and all that good stuff will come eventually.
Secondary Disclaimed: I do not pretend to own anything from the power rangers universe specfically in this case, nything from the S.P.D. incarnation. I do this for fun and nothing else.
He was bored, really bored. Really really really bored. Then again, he was almost always bored these days. With the defeat of Gruumm and the capture of those aligned with him the city had been relatively quiet. Sure there was still the occasional stolen car but there had been a serious lack of well, fun. Letting out another exaggerated sign Bridge let his head drop forward against and started to bang it light against the desk. "Something. Anything. Just happen."
The words had barely left his mouth when the sound of Kat's voice filled the air along with the bases alarms. He jerked to attention abruptly and went crashing to the ground in a awkward flail of limbs just as the door to his room slid open. "Morgana's escaped, come on."
Pushing himself up from the floor he scramble after a quickly moving Sky all the while trying to figure out exactly how something like this could have happened, who was even around to have broken her out?
"Ready?"
"Is anyone ever really ready? People say they're born ready but what does that even mea-nevermind." The stare from Sky had him swallowing his words as he hopped into the passenger side of the jeep. He really needed to remember that when partnered up with Sky it was almost always best to remain silent. Especially these last few weeks, for some reason the other man had been more aggressive than usual. Maybe he should ask about that later and even as he thought it his gaze shifted back over to Sky before he mentally shook his head. No, best not to get involved there.
It didn't prove difficult to pin down Morgana's location as the woman seemed to be giving very little thought towards keeping a low profile. The two men had quickly made their way over to her and prepared to morph but before either could even attempt to get the words out Bridge found his face being introduced to the pavement.
"Ouwch..."
Mumbled by the ground he pushed himself up to all fours only to catch a hard kick to the ribs for his troubles and a click glance out of the corner of his eye let him know Sky hadn't fared any better. He'd gone to struggle to his feet again when he felt the heel of a shoe press into the back of his neck keeping his face buried in the ground. "It seems cliche but do yourselves a favor and stay out of our way."
That hadn't been Morgana and that wasn't something he or any of his friends would do, he'd have gone for level headed and friendly but Sky beat him to talking. "Listen here you bimb-damn it."
Considering they were face down, stuck, and unmoprhed insulting the trio probably wasn't the smartest choice Sky could have made in retrospect but Bridge had a feeling that temper he'd noticed running thin for weeks now was close to snapping. "If you were going to hurt us, you'd have done so by now. So, if at all possible, could I please stop eating dirt."
"Hurting you now would deprive me of watching your team slowly unravel. I don't want to defeat all of SPD, just you few but I want it to hurt and I want the fear and resentment to fester. You took everything from me and now I'm going to pay it back. You know the thing about having nothing? It means you're willing to do anything."
He felt the foot on the back of his neck start to release pressure but by the time he'd flipped around to get a loot Sky and him were alone.
"This seems like a problem."
"No shit."
"Are you mad because she threatened us or because we got are butts handed to us by girls. Because there's really nothing wrong with losing to women they ca-ouwch."
He was face down again and sighed into the pavement, when he'd asked for something to happen this really wasn't what he'd had in mind. Pushing himself up he dusted himself off before gingerly walking back towards the jeep. Letting his head drop back against the seat they rode back to the base in silence. They'd need to debrief the rest of the team but what information did they really have? It was a sentiment echoed by the rest of his friends a short while later as Bridge recapped the afternoons events.
"So you didn't get a look at whoever was helping her? Any names?" Jack's voice was tense but Bridge didn't take it personal, their leader just liked to have all the information and he understood that.
"They didn't use any that I heard, to be honest I'm still not entirely sure what happened. I just know the back of my head and the front of my face hurt. And my ribs. Now that I think about it my stomach does to but that might just be a hunger pain. I did miss lunch an-"
"Focus."
That had come from everyone in the room, in unison, and he felt his face heat. It wasn't like he ever planned on getting off track, his brain just got away from him a lot of the time.
"Kat, I'll need you to pull up footage of the break out. See if we have a clear shot of her accomplices faces and then run it through our database and see what you can find. I don't like having so much missing information, not when there's a threat to my people. Sky and Bridge, go get checked out by the medical staff and the rest of you, be careful."
Eventually when events got looked back on in the future, it would seem like such a simple request.
