Tom woke up needing to use the restroom .  He looked over at his lover and  smiled .  He got up and relieved  his bladder  and washed his hands .  After he was done he walked back to the bed to lay back down .  Taking a moment to look at the sleeping form  of his lover , Tom couldn't  help but think back to the day they met. At first he and Dennis  couldn't  stand each  other ,  then Captain  Fuller  began to pair them  , instead  of  Tom and Doug . It hadn't  been  pretty  to say the least . Then on a stake out  the two almost  came to blows , because  they couldn't  decide  who would be better on apprehending  the criminal  they were watching , then suddenly  Dennis  pulled Tom forward and kissed him .Too stunned to react , the younger officer just let himself  be kissed . When they pulled apart the criminal  had almost  gotten away ,but luckily  he was caught . Days after the incident  both officers avoided  each other. Then unable to stand the growing  tension , Tom confronted  Dennis  and asked  why  he had kissed  him . Dennis's answer  was because  he wanted to annoy  him.

Things got worse and came to a head when Fuller , again  assigned  them as partners and had them go undercover .  It was a normal enough  assignment .  Catch  a   theif  that was beating on the local prostitutes . On the night that the theif was caught both Booker  and Hanson  decided  to stay the rest of the night in the hotel ,  it was already paid for  and both were too tired to go anywhere .  That night Tom woke to Dennis moaning in his sleep. Wanting to get some sleep before  they has to report to Fuller ,Tom  called out to him. Not getting a response he was about to get up when he heard Dennis  moan his name ,shocked  ,Tom just looked  on as the burnett  twisted and writhed in his sleep . His mouth went dry as the blanket  Dennis had fell . His shirt had ridden up ,and exposed his stomach. Eyes glued to the patch of skin ,Tom swallowed  as a hand began to creep downward . Snapping out of his daze he got up and nudged  the other officer , suddenly his hand was grabbed and  Tom found himself  underneath a very much awake Booker . 

Eyes wide open  , Tom's mouth was invaded by an insistent tongue. He surprised  himself by responding . A moan broke Dennis out of the trance- like state he was in and he began to apologize  to Tom , who then broke free of Bookers  hold and wrapped his arms around him.

That night ,Tom lost his virginity , but gained a lover. 

That was almost a year ago . They loved each other and their friends were happy for them . Well it took Doug awhile  to get used to the idea , but he saw how happy Dennis made Tom happy and that was all that mattered to Penhall . 

Tom smiled as he thought back to all the times they had  . Of Dennis confession  to wanting him to the point were he dreamt  about him .  

*Dennis you just make me so happy . I love the feel of you against  me  , I like it when you fill me . They way you make me feel . Your touch on me . Sometimes I get scared  and think you might leave  or ...I can't   even  think about  it .  I think of you as my soul mate .  *

To Tom  Dennis was the best thing that ever happened to him . Not because  when they made love Dennis made sure that he was fully satisfied ,  but because  he was kind and caring . He put others before himself. That was amazingly considering  the tough childhood  he had .

*Hmm, I must look like some kind of creep looking at you sleep , but I can't help it .*

Dennis shifted and a hank of hair fell over his forehead , smiling at how that made him look younger  than he was ,Tom gently  moved it aside . He yawned  just as Dennis woke . 

"Tommy? What's  wrong ? " 

His sleep rought voice  sent shivers along Tom's spine . 

"Nothing  ,just had to use the restroom . "

Smilin sleepy  Dennis wrapped his arms around Tom .

A while  later and Dennis was still awake  as he looked  at Tom with a tender smile . 

Well how was it ? Not too sappy ?
